Logo design and branding I did for @iamchesterpink. Communication with the client is always one of the biggest challenges in Graphic Design. Getting the idea that’s in someone’s head and translating it to an image on paper that matches that idea. It’s a process of experimentation, of trial and error. This logo looks completely different from the first sketches, which were 60’s inspired and clean (will post them later). . What really spoke to the client was expressive ruling pen calligraphy. I didn’t like the way my ruling pen was working so I ground down a pilot parallel on the pavement out front until the square nib was rounded, and used it to write ‘Chester Pink’ roughly a hundred times until I got the perfect version. .
