I think this is the one I need to share for today's post. I get very emotional when I see this one. The artist left the scars on Rukmini's wrists that she covered with her bangles that are sliding down her arm. And Pradyumna looks so young and free of worldly cares, but also has the arrow of destiny on his shoulders. I think about my children and their quick journeys to their next lives. How the education they have from their souls being free far exceeds any schooling I could have provided them. I often think maybe when Pradyumna left, maybe the same thoughts flashed through Mata's head that flash through mine. Maybe she cried herself to sleep, maybe she cried herself through lonely holidays watching the other kids with their mothers, maybe she cried when she watched them grow knowing he was so far away and she was missing his milestones. I bet she cried when he returned and called her Mata. today marks 6 years since I found out about our oldest son- he was only with us for a short bit, but I know his soul had a greater purpose than being part of the life I live in this incarnation. Maybe one day he'll want to come back and stick around for a bit- maybe he'll want to spend time with us on this earth. That would be cool. But I'm sure whatever his path is, mata and baba are probably too embarrassing anyways...he's probably got more important things to do than hang out with me and eat laddoos and mangos...
anyways. not trying to be heavy. today's been difficult. I lit a candle for Ganesha first thing this morning. I think it's still burning...that was 16hours ago...but I made some new friends today and that was really great. I learned a lot. I'm very glad that my children are not dealing with the racism that we go through. It hurts. a lot. but when you make friends that also love Tulsi, and people are willing to pray with a stranger that's crying, even if it's to a god you don't worship, sometimes just having someone praying to their god for you really does make a difference- just knowing that they want to speak on your behalf to the person that helps them when they are in pain.
I made a friend today that loves Tulsi as much as I do. and I was so glad to know that there are so many of us that are finding each other here. Tulsi isn't terribly common in American homes, but making friends that know and love it heals my heart.
This blog is slowly becoming a mini diary. Hopefully something I've shared can help you today.
I hope your weekend and month end pass with the least amount of pain possible. blessings for a prosperous February.
<3 Rukmini

Where Doubts Fade and Love Awakens...
The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden hue over the landscape, the camp was alive with activity. Soldiers of Krishna’s army, a formidable force of five thousand, moved with purpose as they set up their temporary home along the banks of the Narmada River. The sounds of laughter mingled with commands and the rustling of canvas as tents were erected, creating a bustling atmosphere.
Krishna, ever the leader, oversaw the arrangement, his presence reassuring to the soldiers and his companions. Balram and Satyaki helped direct the men, ensuring that everything was in order. The scent of fresh earth mixed with the aroma of food being prepared, as some of the cooks worked to provide a hearty meal for the weary travelers.
Amid the organized chaos, Rukmini stood near the river, watching the scene unfold. She felt a sense of wonder at the strength and camaraderie of the army. The tents—sturdy and colorful—were quickly assembled, creating a small village under the sprawling night sky. She saw the maids and servants worked diligently to arrange her tent, ensuring she would be comfortable for the night.
“Over there, near the water,” Balram directed one of the maids, pointing to a spot with a lovely view of the river. “It would be perfect for Rukmini's tent.”
“Yes, my Lord,” the maid replied, scurrying off to follow her instructions.
As the tents were finally secured, Balram approached Rukmini, his expression warm and welcoming. “You’ve arrived at our humble camp, Princess Rukmini. How do you find it?”
“It’s beautiful,” she replied, glancing around. The flickering firelight illuminated the faces of the soldiers, their camaraderie and laughter filling the air with warmth. “Your army has done well.”
“Only the best for my little sister” Balram said, a teasing lilt in his voice. He gestured toward the river. “We’ll have a grand feast tonight. Our cooks have promised delicacies fit for royalty.”
Rukmini smiled, her heart lightening. “I look forward to it. But I must say, I’m still trying to process the day’s events.”
Sensing her need for comfort, Balram said putting his hand on her head, “Rukmini, you’ve shown great courage today. Tomorrow, we will set out for Dwarka, but tonight, let us enjoy the company around us.”
Rukmini found herself relaxing. She nodded. Balram smiled at her and left for another spot to arrange things.
As the last rays of sunlight faded into twilight, Rukmini felt the warmth of Balram's camaraderie linger in her heart, yet an ache of uncertainty pulled at her. She excused herself from the laughter and chatter of the camp, seeking solace away from the hustle and bustle. With each step toward the riverbank, the sound of laughter faded, replaced by the soothing whispers of the flowing water.
Krishna, who was with his horses saw her leaving.
Finding a secluded spot under the sprawling branches of a nearby tree, Rukmini settled down at the edge of the Narmada River. The gentle waves lapped against the shore, creating a rhythmic melody that both calmed and stirred her emotions. She gazed into the water, watching the reflections dance like flickering stars.
Her thoughts drifted back to the day’s events—the moment Krishna had grasped her hand, his fingers warm and reassuring. The image of him fighting against her brother Rukmi, then thrashing away Jarasandh's formidable army flooded her mind, his valor and strength shining brightly in her memory. He had come for her, risking everything to rescue her, but as she reflected, a doubt crept in.
Did he act out of love for her, or was it simply his duty as a warrior to honor her plea? The letter she had sent him, filled with desperation and hope, replayed in her mind. Had he felt compelled by some noble obligation rather than genuine affection? The thought twisted her heart, and she drew her knees to her chest, feeling the weight of uncertainty settle over her.
She loved Krishna deeply, more than she had ever imagined loving someone. His presence ignited a flame within her, yet the shadows of doubt loomed large. What if he saw her merely as a damsel in distress rather than as an equal partner? What if he didn’t love her in return?
Rukmini closed her eyes, allowing the cool breeze to brush against her skin. With each breath, she tried to silence the turmoil within her, but the questions lingered.
In the distance, she heard the sounds of the camp—the cheerful banter of soldiers, the crackling of firewood, and the laughter that echoed through the night. But here, by the river, she was alone with her thoughts, wrestling with the uncertainty of her heart.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ceee22925318b36960886484965f525b/56f243b1940cdba8-11/s540x810/f526f5b750ccf2540a6e791879ce3f3d4b675491.jpg)
“Rukmini,” a familiar voice broke through her reverie.
Startled, she turned to see Krishna approaching, the light of the campfire illuminating his figure against the darkening sky. He paused at the edge of the clearing, concern etched across his features as he took in her solitary state.
“Why have you come here alone?” he asked softly, stepping closer.
Rukmini swallowed hard, her heart racing at his presence. “I just needed a moment to think,” she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. She looked away, not wanting him to see the turmoil in her eyes.
Krishna knelt beside her, his expression gentle yet inquisitive. “What troubles you, my princess?”
The warmth of his concern enveloped her, yet the doubts still clung to her. She hesitated, unsure if she could voice her fears. “I—” she began, but the words caught in her throat.
“Speak freely,” he encouraged, his voice soothing as the river’s flow. “You can trust me.”
Rukmini took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts, the moonlight shimmering on the surface of the river like a million tiny stars. She could feel Krishna’s unwavering gaze on her, encouraging her to speak the truth that weighed heavily on her heart.
“Krishna,” she began, her voice trembling slightly, “today was a whirlwind. You fought so bravely against Jarasandh's army, and you saved me when I felt most helpless. But as I sit here, I can’t help but feel conflicted.” She paused, searching for the right words, her heart racing.
“What if you came to my rescue not out of love, but out of obligation?” Rukmini’s voice quivered, and she turned to face him, the pain in her eyes evident. “I wrote to you in desperation, praying for a savior, and you came. But was it the cry of a heart in need that drew you, or was it your warrior virtue that compelled you to act?”
Krishna listened intently, his expression calm and understanding. He made no attempt to interrupt, allowing her to unburden herself completely.
“I have loved you for so long, Krishna,” she continued, her voice growing steadier as she spoke. “Your strength, your wisdom, your laughter—they fill my heart with joy. But now, in this moment of solitude, I find myself questioning everything. What if I am just a fleeting distraction for you? What if, in your eyes, I am no more than a prize to be claimed? ”
Rukmini looked away, tears brimming in her eyes. “I fear that I might have misjudged your intentions. You saved me, yes, but what if our paths were destined to diverge again? What if I am not worthy of the love I yearn for?”
Krishna remained silent, his heart aching at her vulnerability. He understood the weight of her words, the fear that shadowed her thoughts. Rukmini was not just a princess; she was a woman caught between her dreams and the harsh reality of uncertainty.
“Every moment I have spent with you has felt like a gift,” Rukmini continued, her voice softening as she met his gaze once more. “But what if I am building castles in the air, only to have them crumble into dust? You are so much more than I ever imagined—a hero, a leader, someone who is destined for greatness, and I... I am just a girl from Vidarbh. I fear that... that I may not fit into that world of yours.”
Krishna’s heart swelled with compassion as he absorbed her words. He could sense the depth of her love and the intensity of her fears. This was not just a fleeting moment of doubt; it was a profound struggle within her heart, a reflection of her hopes and insecurities.
As Rukmini finished pouring out her heart, an unsettling silence enveloped them. Krishna remained still, his gaze fixed on the river as if searching for answers in its depths. Rukmini’s heart raced in the quiet, confusion swirling in her chest. She had bared her soul to him, and yet, he seemed distant, lost in thought.
Suddenly, Krishna stood up, his movement breaking the spell of silence. Rukmini blinked, surprise washing over her as she looked up at him. He extended his hand, palm open, inviting her to rise. “Get up,” he said, his tone gentle yet commanding.
Rukmini hesitated for a moment, puzzled by his sudden shift. She took his hand, her heart fluttering as he pulled her to her feet. “Where are we going?” she asked, curiosity mingling with uncertainty.
“Come, let’s go into the jungle for a walk,” he replied, his voice low and steady. “There’s something I need to tell you, but I fear I won’t be able to do so with so many people around us.”
Rukmini felt a mix of emotions—confusion lingered, but a spark of intrigue ignited within her. She looked back at the camp, the flickering fires illuminating the soldiers’ laughter, then turned her gaze back to Krishna. Despite her lingering doubts, she nodded. “Alright, lead the way.”
As they walked into the lush embrace of the jungle, the sounds of the camp faded behind them. The night air was cool and fragrant with the scent of earth and foliage, a soothing balm for her restless spirit. Rukmini fell into step beside him, her mind racing with questions. Why wouldn’t he address her fears directly? What could he possibly want to tell her in such secrecy?
Meanwhile, behind them, a group of soldiers started to follow, curiosity etched on their faces. But Balram, sensing their intentions, stepped forward and raised a hand to stop them. “Let the couple have their time,” he said, his voice firm yet understanding. “Rukmini doesn’t need any protection when Krishna is with her.”
The soldiers exchanged glances but soon nodded in agreement, retreating back to the camp, leaving Krishna and Rukmini to their solitude.
As they ventured deeper into the jungle, the sounds of nature enveloped them—the rustle of leaves, the distant call of night creatures, and the gentle whisper of the wind through the trees. Rukmini felt her heart begin to calm, the rhythm of the wilderness soothing her frayed nerves.
“What do you wish to tell me?” she finally asked, breaking the silence as they strolled side by side. Her voice was tentative, laced with anticipation.
Krishna glanced at her, his expression contemplative. “Patience, Rukmini. We’re almost there.”
She raised an eyebrow, intrigued yet anxious. The uncertainty of his earlier silence still loomed in her mind, but she felt a flicker of hope. Whatever he had to say, she sensed it was important.
After a short walk, they arrived at a small clearing bathed in the silvery light of the moon. The stars twinkled overhead, and the air was still, creating a serene atmosphere that felt far removed from the turmoil of the camp. Krishna turned to her, his expression earnest.
“Here,” he said softly, “this is better.”
Rukmini looked around, the beauty of the moment captivating her. But her heart thudded with nervous energy. “What is it that you want to share?”
Krishna took a deep breath, the weight of his thoughts evident in his posture. “Before I speak, I want you to know that I care for you deeply. Everything I have done, every decision I have made, has been with you in my heart.”
With that, he stepped closer, the intensity of his gaze locking onto hers, and Rukmini felt her pulse quicken. “Rukmini,” he continued, his voice low and intimate, “I was the one who was restless when I first heard about you from Narad Muni. After that, I couldn't sleep at night because my mind was constantly thinking about you.”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/5b7718cb24d3be8ff1d00d38338f4a25/56f243b1940cdba8-a1/s540x810/9ff3678fc693110b8fee5aaa332a8bbe932d14c5.jpg)
He paused, as if gathering the courage to share a part of himself that was deeply personal. “So, with my mystic powers, my soul traveled to Vidarbha, inside your palace, to see you. When you were asleep at night, I would come to you and tuck a strand of your hair behind your ear. I would constantly be looking at your sleeping face.”
Rukmini's breath caught in her throat, the warmth of his confession enveloping her like a soft embrace. The moonlight illuminated their faces, casting a magical glow around them. Krishna slowly raised his hand and gently touched her cheek, his fingers brushing against her skin with a tenderness that sent shivers down her spine.
“You can’t even imagine how much I craved to touch your face,” he continued, his voice a mere whisper now. “How much I craved to kiss your lips, how much I longed to be near you.”
A tear slipped from Rukmini’s eye, tracing a path down her cheek. She blinked rapidly, overwhelmed by the flood of emotions. “So, you didn’t get me just because you were obliged to do so?” she asked, her voice trembling with vulnerability.
Krishna smiled softly, the warmth of his gaze wrapping around her like a cocoon. “Yes, it was indeed my duty to rescue someone who asked for my help. But more than that, I rescued you because I want you… because I have been dreaming about you… because I couldn’t bear to see you become someone else’s… because I love you.”
The words hung in the air, heavy with meaning, and Rukmini felt as though the world had shifted beneath her feet. She stood there, completely speechless, the weight of his declaration washing over her in waves. It was as if the stars themselves had aligned to bring them together in this moment.
Krishna stepped closer, closing the distance between them, and for a moment, they stood together, heartbeats synchronized in the tranquil night. “You are not just a dream to me, Rukmini. You are my reality. You always have been.”
As their eyes locked, Rukmini felt an undeniable connection, a thread of fate that had woven their lives together against the odds. Yet, amidst the warmth of his words, a tempest of emotions surged within her.
“If that is so,” she finally asked, her voice quivering with a mix of longing and frustration, “then why didn’t you come earlier to rescue me? Why did you make me wait for so long? Why did I have to shed my tears and doubt my destiny, believing I would be the wife of someone else whom I never loved? Why, Krishna? Why?”
Krishna’s expression shifted to one of deep empathy as he slowly held her hands tightly, anchoring her with his steady gaze. “If we were ordinary human beings, I would have taken you away long ago. But I am Dwarkadhish, and you are the Princess of Vidarbha. How could I have taken you with me without your consent? If I did that, it would be an insult to you and your integrity, and I couldn’t bear that. I was waiting for your letter. I was waiting for you to tell me to come to you. I waited for ages. And when I got your message, I didn’t hesitate. I rode here as quickly as possible.”
With those words, he cupped her face gently, his thumbs brushing against her cheeks. “And when I saw you coming down in that white dress, my heart skipped a beat. I couldn’t take my eyes away from you.”
Rukmini felt her heart swell at his confession, overwhelmed by the sincerity that radiated from him. She searched his eyes, trying to fathom the depths of his love, but words escaped her.
Krishna continued, his voice soft but fervent, “I have been waiting for you for so long. I have been in love with you since eons—something you can hardly imagine. You can never be a temporary distraction for me, for you have always been my salvation. I love you from the deepest cores of my heart. I love you with my entire existence. I love you, my Vaidarbhi. I love you.”
The weight of his declarations settled in the space between them, and Rukmini felt tears welling in her eyes again—not from sorrow, but from the overwhelming joy of being seen and understood.
Krishna, noticing the glimmer of unshed tears still in her gaze, reached up to wipe them away with the pad of his thumb. “So, have I satisfied your query, or is there any other doubt you have about my love?” he asked softly.
Rukmini chuckled, a lightness in her heart as she sniffed, trying to regain her composure. “After this, if I ever doubt you again, then I am ready to face punishments from heaven. I apologize for this, Krishna, but I—”
She couldn’t complete her sentence, the emotions overwhelming her. Krishna, sensing her turmoil, placed a finger over her lips and said gently, “Shhh… You don’t need to apologize for this. It is your right to ask. Perhaps by this, I was able to understand just how much the most beautiful lady on earth loves me. Your letter allowed me to see myself through your eyes, and that is the loveliest thing in this world for me.”
Rukmini smiled, the warmth of his words wrapping around her like a soft blanket. Krishna cleared his throat, a hint of nervousness creeping into his demeanor. “Well… you have asked so many questions; now it’s my turn.”
“Sure, go ahead,” she replied, her heart racing in anticipation.
“O Princess of Vidarbha,” Krishna began, his voice steady yet filled with emotion, “I, Dwarkadhish Vasudev Krishna, ask for your hand in marriage. I promise to take care of you all my life and to always respect you. So, will you become my wife?”
Rukmini was stunned, her heart soaring with joy. The man she loved so deeply was proposing to her in such a tender and heartfelt manner. She felt the words bubbling up inside her, but they seemed to stick in her throat. All she could do was gaze at him, her heart bursting with happiness. She smiled at him, her heart full to bursting, and without thinking, she stepped forward and wrapped her arms tightly around him.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/b5cd9661a68464b23297d2a988ca359a/56f243b1940cdba8-05/s540x810/84b4e492e747130742e5b771cd35eb352eed315a.jpg)
It was a hug that conveyed everything she couldn’t say—a promise, a commitment, and an overwhelming love that transcended words.
Her head rested against his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heart beneath her ear. Krishna was taken aback by her sudden embrace; he hadn’t expected such a bold gesture, yet warmth spread through him, filling him with a profound happiness. He wrapped his arms around her in return, pulling her closer, tracing his fingers through her hair with a tenderness that spoke of a bond deeper than words.
For a moment, time stood still. In that embrace, all doubts, fears, and uncertainties melted away. The world around them—the bustling camp, the murmuring river, the whispering trees—faded into oblivion as they found solace in each other’s presence.
Rukmini’s heart thrummed against Krishna’s, and in that sacred space, she felt safe. His strength enveloped her like a shield, and the warmth of his body banished the chill of the night air. She breathed in the scent of him—earthy and divine—and her heart swelled with gratitude.
In that moment, nothing else mattered but the two of them, entwined in each other’s arms beneath the vast, starry sky.
As they held each other close, Rukmini finally whispered into his shoulder, “Yes, Krishna… a thousand times yes.”
With her words, they slowly drew back, their hands still entwined, their fingers lacing together as if they never intended to let go. Their faces were only inches apart, gazes locked with a magnetic intensity that neither could escape. Nervous yet exhilarated, they inched closer, their breaths mingling in the night air until their lips finally met in a tender, lingering kiss.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/266d0bda76e082ed4e987034869f9578/56f243b1940cdba8-94/s540x810/d5534cad1e22b8cafea06c59385cc31cd7068cfe.jpg)
It was soft at first, a brush of warmth and promise, as if they were sealing the vows they had just spoken. Pulling back, they looked at each other, a spark igniting in their eyes. This time, they moved with confidence, leaning into a second kiss that carried more of their emotions-longing, relief, and a love that had been waiting for this moment. Krishna's lips grazed her upper lip, then her lower, and before long, their kiss deepened, a beautiful union of passion and intimacy.
Rukmini's hands tightened around him, pressing closer, as Krishna cupped her face with one hand, his other wrapping around her waist. He held her as if she were the most precious thing in the world. Their breaths mingled as they lost themselves in each other, the world around them fading until all that remained was the sound of their hearts beating in unison.
Meanwhile, back at the camp, Balram grew concerned as the night deepened and Krishna and Rukmini had yet to return. Tension etched on his face, he finally decided to send Satyaki to find them.
Satyaki gathered a few soldiers, and together they ventured into the forest, their torches casting shadows as they searched. After a while, Satyaki spotted Krishna and Rukmini through the trees, but what he saw brought an immediate flush of embarrassment to his face. The couple stood close, locked in a passionate embrace, completely absorbed in each other.
Satyaki quickly turned to the soldiers, who were equally flustered. One of them whispered, "Sir, I think it's best we leave them be. Disturbing Dwarkadhish now might not end well for us."
Satyaki nodded, whispering back, "Yes, I think you're right. Let's leave them... they've waited long enough for each other." And with that, he led the group back to the camp, the soldiers chuckling softly among themselves, still red-faced from what they had witnessed.
Back by the riverside, Krishna and Rukmini finally pulled away, their breaths mingling as they rested their foreheads together, chests rising and falling in harmony. Krishna smiled, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Well," he said softly, "I didn't expect my first kiss with you to be quite so... enchanting. How did you like it, Rukmini?"
Rukmini's cheeks flushed, her voice soft yet playful. "I loved it," she admitted. "I suppose now we have no excuse not to... indulge, considering we're soon to be husband and wife."
Krishna bit his lower lip, a sheepish but delighted smile lighting up his face as he looked at her with a newfound admiration. Rukmini's eyes sparkled, a hint of seduction in her smile as she mirrored his expression. He raised an eyebrow, his tone teasing. "Then, how about a second round?"
Without waiting for an answer, he wrapped his arms around her waist and drew her close again, capturing her lips with his. Rukmini's laughter melted into the kiss as she wrapped her hands around his neck, surrendering herself to his embrace. Once more, they lost themselves in each other, the stars above witnessing their union as they shared their love under the vast, eternal sky.

Platforms and Fan Experiences
This week, I’ve been thinking a lot about platforms and the way in which they influence fan experiences. As a consistent lurker, I have been on Tumblr for more than a decade, and more recently on Twitter for the past few months, and have been reflecting on my experiences of fandom on both platforms.
In a roundtable discussion published in a tumblr book: platform and cultures, speakers Flourish Klink, Rukmini Pande, Zina Hutton, Lori Morimoto and Allison McCracken discuss the ways in which Tumblr is a very visual platform:
Klink: Tumblr fandoms tend to be much more visual than other fandoms. I often find that this is the most difficult part of Tumblr for people who are not familiar with it. The visual languages in play on Tumblr are as meaningful and complex as any slang or textual interactions on Twitter… Klink, Flourish, Rukmini Pande, Zina Hutton, Lori Morimoto, and Allison McCracken. “A Roundtable Discussion about the Cultures of Fandom on Tumblr.” In A Tumblr Book: Platform and Cultures, edited by Allison McCracken, Alexander Cho, Louisa Stein, and Indira Neill Hoch, 167–80. University of Michigan Press, 2020. http://www.jstor.org/stable/10.3998/mpub.11537055.23.
I find this particularly interesting—and also ironic, in some ways—given that to me, as both a lurker, and a Fandom Old, the draw of Tumblr is that, while it may be a visual platform, it is not necessarily a visible platform, particularly in comparison to Twitter. There’s little chance of the celebrity you’re writing RPF about coming across your racy post or interacting with you directly.
In the same discussion, they go on to talk about the ways in which Tumblr’s visual culture has often led to progressive politics and practices, like race/genderbending.
Hutton: …One of my favorite things about being on Tumblr is seeing the way that members of the fandoms I’ve been in— primarily the DC and Marvel fandoms—reimagine their favorite characters as characters of color and give them queer and gender identities that match theirs. You can see photosets reimagining the Batman family group as more visibly diverse, and fancasts ( fans re-casting roles with actors of their choosing) of Marvel superheroes where they’re portrayed as women of color. And these fancasts generally push back against the idea of whiteness as a perpetual default. Klink, Flourish, Rukmini Pande, Zina Hutton, Lori Morimoto, and Allison McCracken.
While Hutton also points out the ways in which a lot of it can turn into clickbait activism, later on in the discussion, without truly engaging with what it means to racebend a character beyond simply making a visual edit, it’s Pande’s comment about interacting with white fans that echoes my own experience:
Pande: When I first came on Tumblr for instance, I mainly followed people I knew from LiveJournal and “Big Name Fans” whose writing I had followed in previous fandoms. This resulted in my Dashboard being filled with almost exclusively white-dude content. In retrospect this is not surprising, but the visual-ness of Tumblr made it particularly apparent, especially post-Racefail at a moment in fandom in 2009–10, when POC fans had started becoming more vocal about this whiteness. Klink, Flourish, Rukmini Pande, Zina Hutton, Lori Morimoto, and Allison McCracken.
As a PoC fan myself from the Global South, particularly one that does more lurking than posting, I often find that Tumblr does not always have the kind of linguistic inclusivity or even fandom inclusivity I am looking for. Perhaps it’s that I am a lurker, or perhaps I am not looking in the right spaces. Whatever the reason, I find Twitter has more of that inclusivity; whether I am looking for a fellow Hindi-soap opera fan, or a Supernatural fan, I can find both. And depending on which platform I choose, the content I make/consume differs—not just in form, but also in language and meaning.
What do you think? How has your platform shaped your fandom experience?

🦚 SYNOPSIS : When Krishna can't see his priya frowning in sadness, so, he comes up with a way to cheer her up.
🦚 KAMAL'S NOTE : This is just a work of fiction and nothing to do with the actual events. I just wanted to write something for Maa Rukmini and Krishna since there is not much. Hopefully I didn't cross the line. This fic made me hate the word 'hand' to be honest 😮💨. The devider is from this post.
Kamalnayan = Lotus like eyes, Sri = Mahalakshmi/Rukmini, Nupur = Anklet, Aradhya = Adored one, Arya = Honorable one.
Sweet wind blew past the raven locks, forcing them to dance on the rhythm with it. Dwarakeshwari, Rukmini Maharani, sat on the edge of the majestic water fountain. Her hand playing with the rippling cold water. The full moon shone brightly in the night's sky. The reflection of the moon in the water made Rukmini appear glowing.
Everything happened so suddenly. One day, she was writing a letter to Kanha to come and save her and the next she is now married to the said Manohari. Few days ago she came to Dwarka with her husband. People here are loving and welcoming to her but Rukmini could not help but miss her father and brothers.
Since day one she was their beloved princess but everything changed when Rukmi decided to prioritise his political friends and hate towards Krishna over her. Going against Rukmini, he rejected Krishna when he asked for her hand in marriage and then he fixed her marriage to that demon, Shishupal. Still, Rukmini loved her brother and wanted the best for them.
"Can't sleep?"
A sweet voice broke the silence of the night. Her hand stopped it's action. Rukmini heard quite footsteps advancing towards her as her heartbeat sped up. Even after loving him for years and being married to hi, Rukmini couldn't help but blush whenever he was around her.
Krishna walked up to Rukmini and sat right behind her. Their eyes met through the waters reflection but Rukmini averted her eyes away as a feeling of shyness took over, making Krishna chuckle. His wife, his Sri, can look into others eyes and put them in their places but she can't even look her Shyam. Oh! How much he yearns to see those beautiful kamalnayan.
"Could not sleep?" Krishna asked again, this time even more softer.
Rukmini nodded her head, giving him a quiet 'hum'. Krishna dipped his hand in water. Taking her hand in his, Krishna swayed them, feeling water pass through their fingers.
"So, what is bothering my beloved?"
Rukmini remained silent for a moment before speaking, "I was thinking about my people back home."
"Is that so?" Krishna wishpered, "Do you regret marrying me and coming he—"
Before he could finish, Rukmini had turned around and slammed her hand over his mouth, "What are you saying Madhav? I can never."
Rukmini felt his lips curling up into a smile against her palm. Krishna held her hand by his both hands and brought them down. But instead of letting go, Krishna clutches it even firmer.
"You are finally looking at me."
Rukmini gasped at the realisation and all the heat raised up her cheeks. As she quickly looked, Krishna took her chin between two fingers and made her face him again. Rukmini kept her head down.
Hay Bhagwan! My shy wife. Madhav thought to himself.
"Would you like to go somewhere......With me?" Krishna asked.
Rukmini nodded her head without any hesitation. Krishna stood up and held out a hand for her, "Sri?"
Rukmini placed her hand in and got up. Then Krishna started leading them out of the golden palace. They walked for at least 60 vighaṭi but neither of them seemed to mind. By day Krishna is mostly busy with work and Rukmini also has to play the mother goddess she is.
They don't get much time to spend together other than the night. They walked through the furnished road, hand in hand, under the starry night. At the end of the city was a forest. Krishna led her into it.
Moonlight failed to enter through the cover of tall tree branches. As the forest went darker, Rukmini, unknowingly, brought herself closer to Krishna. Though Krishna saw that, he didn't say anything because seeing how shy his Sri is, she might pull away.
"How far is the place, Madhav?" Rukmini asked when the road seemed to be endless. They couldn't stay out long. As the king and queen of Dwarka, work was already on their shoulders.
"Just a little more Sri." Krishna whispered, giving her hand a firm squeeze.
They walked a little more when Krishna suddenly stopped. Rukmini looked at him confused. Krishna released her hand and held up the jewelled flute. As Rukmini held the flute with care, Krishna went behind her and palmed over her eyes.
"Ma-Madhav?"
"Just a little more to go." Krishna whispered in her ear.
Rukmini trusted and started forwarding. Losing the ability to see, her other senses became stronger. The forest was silent. The sweet sound of their nupur chiming echoed through the silent woodland accompanied by occasional hooting of owls.
Krishna came to an abrupt stop, "Ready?"
Rukmini nodded impatiently, "Yes, Madhav."
Krishna slowly removed his hands. A bright light blinded Rukmini for a moment. She blinked her eyes to adjust to the light and when she saw scenery before her all she could do was gasp in surprise.
The place was glowing compared to the rest of the dark forest. Fireflies dancing with each other. Beautiful flowers are blooming all over the place. Birds like peacocks, parrots, owls, flying like it's broad daylight. Then there is deers, red panda, horses and many more playing like friends.
"Madhav, what place is this? This looks like it is Vaikuntha."
"This place is Divya aranya. Do you like it?"
"This place is heavenly. Why didn't you bring me here earlier?" Rukmini breathed out, failing to look away.
Krishna sat on the ground with his hack leaning on a big tree. While Rukmini admired the magical forest, Krishna admired his ārādhya. Her eyes sparkled like gold, taking in everything. When she was done she came and sat beside Madhav.
"How did this come here?" Rukmini felt like a child, seeing the world for the first time even though she herself was Devi Mahalakshmi.
"That…….is a story for another time. Just know that there was this man who created this place because he couldn't see his priya frowning in sadness." Mischievousness swimmed in his eyes.
Rukmini smiled with a knowing look. She really had completely forgotten about her previous sadness with her brother. Which gave Krishna relief. The last thing he wanted was for her to be sad. That too in his presence.
Rukmini felt a different sense of boldness as she dropped her head on his shoulder. When the sun goes up they will be pulled into the same work routine. So, Rukmini wanted to savour these moments as much as possible.
"Can we stay here a little longer?" Rukmini asked softly and he replied back, "As long as you want."
Rukmini's eyes fell on the flute in her hand, the divine flute that everyone praises.
"Arya, you have never played your flute for me, have you?"
Krishna laughed, "Every rag, every sur, every dhun that I play, is for you, my Sri. If not you, then I have no reason to even exist."
He sure is a ladies' man. Rukmini thought as her cheeks became red.
Rukmini gave him his flute back, "Play something for me, won't you, Arya?"
"Anything for you, Sri."
Krishna took the flute, placing his lips on it, he started playing the most madhur dhun she had ever heard. The aranya became more joyful, birds danced with the melody, animals became hypnotised with how enchanting it was.
And Darkeswari drifted into the dreamland with her head resting on her beloved's shoulder and hearing the madhur dhun.

Impact of Bharatanatyam on Indian Culture and Heritage
Bharatanatyam profoundly impacts Indian culture and heritage, embodying centuries of tradition, spirituality, and artistry. Originating from the temples of Tamil Nadu, this classical dance form is more than just performance—it is a cultural symbol that reflects India’s rich history and values.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/5603d6a88910756c560a5215f9cfb59e/e77bd1a18b76f8e0-f7/s540x810/bf958b3f0de1a55ba57712e3042391506f0b1184.webp)
Here’s a deeper look at its cultural influence:
1. Preservation of Ancient Heritage and Spirituality
Bharatanatyam is rooted in the Natya Shastra, an ancient Sanskrit text on performing arts, making it one of the oldest dance forms. The intricate hand gestures (mudras), expressions (abhinaya), and body movements serve as a living archive of India's spiritual and mythological stories, especially those associated with Hindu gods and goddesses like Shiva, Vishnu, and Parvati. Through dance, practitioners preserve these stories, embodying the essence of ancient scriptures and keeping them alive for future generations.
2. Social and Cultural Identity
Bharatanatyam is a pillar of South Indian identity and pride. Performances often celebrate Tamil culture, rituals, and festivals, emphasizing the dance’s regional importance. However, Bharatanatyam has also gained national and international recognition, helping to unify Indians around a shared cultural heritage. Drawing from Hindu mythology bridges diverse communities, highlighting common values and ideals rooted in Indian culture, such as respect, devotion, and discipline.
3. Promoting Indian Aesthetics and Arts
The elaborate costumes, intricate jewelry, and detailed makeup used in Bharatanatyam highlight India’s traditional aesthetics. The sari drape, temple jewelry, and specific makeup styles have not only influenced the aesthetics of other Indian art forms but have also inspired modern fashion. The art form has also impacted other cultural expressions, such as Indian cinema, where classical dance movements and themes often find representation in films, bringing classical aesthetics to a broader audience.
4. Inspiring New Generations and Creating Global Awareness
Bharatanatyam has transcended boundaries, influencing dancers and audiences globally. Dance schools worldwide now teach Bharatanatyam, attracting students from various cultural backgrounds. As a result, it fosters a greater appreciation for Indian culture, promoting cultural exchange and global understanding. Additionally, Bharatanatyam’s themes of devotion, nature, and spirituality resonate universally, inspiring dancers of all backgrounds to explore Indian heritage.
5. Women's Empowerment and Societal Change
Historically, it was performed by Devadasis (temple dancers), but Bharatanatyam was revitalized in the 20th century by women like Rukmini Devi Arundale, who brought the dance to the stage. This opened up new opportunities for women, not only as dancers but as cultural ambassadors. Today, Bharatanatyam encourages self-expression, self-discipline, and self-confidence in its practitioners, especially empowering women to reclaim and celebrate their heritage.
6. Influence on Other Dance and Art Forms
Bharatanatyam has influenced various classical and contemporary dance forms in India. Many Indian classical dancers incorporate Bharatanatyam's techniques and themes, while contemporary choreographers often merge them with other styles, creating fusion performances. Bharatanatyam’s principles, like geometric postures and expressions, are often studied and adapted by artists and even architects, showcasing its reach beyond dance alone.
7. Maintaining Moral and Ethical Values
Bharatanatyam teaches and reflects values of dedication, respect for tradition, and humility. Students undergo rigorous training that instills discipline, respect for elders, and a deep sense of reverence for the art form. By highlighting stories of good versus evil, virtues, and ethical dilemmas through mythology, Bharatanatyam subtly reinforces moral values and ethical teachings, making it a medium for cultural education.
Conclusion
In sum, Bharatanatyam acts as a guardian of Indian heritage, preserving ancient traditions while inspiring contemporary cultural expressions. Through its fusion of art, spirituality, and tradition, it continues to enrich Indian culture, bridging past and present, local and global, and individual and collective identity.

Mathura Nagarpati
Inspired from Rukmini Vijayakumar's dance video on the same song from Raincoat. I had once posted a script kinda thingy about this to make a dance piece. Here, I will write a fic on the same. Also I apologize beforehand if this makes you cry by the end. :)
»»————> ✿ <————««
My dearest friend, Shyamala walks beside me to the Yamuna to fill our water pots for our household needs. We have been doing this from childhood, and even though I do have a daughter-in-law now, who is more fit to carry these pots from the river to back home, I always insist to do it everyday for old times sake. Also, she is already too busy to take care of my grand daughter and other household works.
For old times' sake....
SPLASH!
Shyamala and I raise our heads up to see who fell into the river, only to meet a fun sight of a couple of kids frolicking in the Yamuna. Two little girls were laughing, their hands clutching their tummies while three boys adorable pouted at them. The river had crowned a boy's head with a lotus leaf.
I look at Shyamala. Her now thin lips carry a small smile at the children. Her eyes instinctively turn towards mine, and she says, "Once, we were young like them too. Good times, wasn't it." She touched her lower back and continued, "Only if, I wouldn't suffer from this wretched back ache, I would definitely call the others and jump into the river just like we used to do it back then. I wish I could do it once again – for old times' sake."
Sitting down by the riverbank, wincing slightly at the pain in my knee joints, I reply, "You know, you can send Malati to bring water. This back pain takes a toll on you every time."
Chuckling, she moves a pot into the gracious river, saying "I am old. I need to exercise my body so that I still remain active and sane until my last breath. Also, I keep doing this just to revisit my memories."
Ah... looks like we all engaged ourselves in such activities to painfully remind ourselves of our bittersweet memories with him.
"It's all for old times' sake." I hear her mutter. Quietly, I decide to fill my pots when for a moment, I notice something unusual in my reflection.
Once I was young and pretty, and whenever he was around me, I always felt like the most beautiful girl in the world. And when he left, I no longer cared how beautiful I looked. Now that, my hair has gone grey, my pretty face, saggy and wrinkled, my limbs no longer agile, I don't find any reason to sit and admire my long lost beauty.
But, today, there was something different. It wasn't as if my face looking drastically young in the reflection, but a single lone peacock feathers on my head.
God, was he too undergoing the old times' sake feeling like all of us?
"Shyamala, is there something on my head?" I ask, pointing at my head.
"Except that yellow odhni on your head, and that pretty gorgeous white hair, you have nothing."
Amused, I retort, "My husband even doesn't compliment my hair, the way you do. 'Pretty gorgeous hair' They have lost their thickness!"
My friend ducks her pot in the water, which erupts with a pop sound and says, "You still have some volume left in them. Look at mine -- these are threads."
A high pitched scream from the opposite side of the river alerts us away from out hair thinning concerns.
"Munna, you evil brat. Wait, till I show you," shouted one of the girls who was pushed into the river.
Shyamala clears her throat and called the children. "Kids, you better not venture too far into the river. Stay near the banks and play. Also, stop pushing each other into the water. You never know, if a serpent monster is waiting down to snatch mischevious children away."
A little girl innocently asks Shyamala, "Like Kaliya naag?"
My hand stills. The memory's still fresh in my mind. The large black serpent had poisoned the waters, killed so many of our cattle, and was close to snatching him from us. For us, he was just a child of our age. We never thought he would so powerful to vanquish that demon, and when he danced on top of his head, it seemed as Lord Nataraja was dancing tandava on him.
That evening I had scolded him tremendously. And that charming yet mischevious boy had nothing but a bright smile on his face. Did he not what danger he had encountered?
"Where did you get lost now?" I feel Shyamala shake my arm. "Your pot had begun sailing on the river."
"Oh.." I shake my head and grab my pot when I see a peacock feather on my head again. I brush my fingers over my reflection, watching my image disperse in the gentle waves, the blue green feather still showing itself over my head.
The kids have begun playing with themselves in the water, forgetting their previous quarrel. I smile at them, as my mind drifts to my childhood memories with a young boy who always donned himself in yellow robes, and was dark as the night sky, but had a lustre rivalling the moon.
"Hai Mahadev, why don't you call me to your abode. I can't take this back ache any more." Shyama lifts her pots with a groan. Adjusting one of the pots on her hip, she looks at me, and says, "Listen, I have to head to the village market to buy some seeds for the garden. You go home alone today."
I nod at her, and turn back to the dark river when a gentle voice whispers in my ear, a voice I could recognize anywhere, even in deep sleep.
"Nayani"
I breathe slowly. My eyes close themselves shut, and I keep repeating to myself that all of this is in my head -- that he isn't Vrindavan's Kanha anymore but Mathura nagarpati and Dwarkadheesh.
"Nayani, it is me. Will you not welcome me? Open your eyes. I have come back." I hear him take a pause. "For now."
Ignoring the burning sensation in my throat and my laboured breathing, I turn around to face him. I gasp.
He had indeed come back! My Manohara, my Manmohan.
Tears flow freely out of my eyes. I hug him tightly. His arms still contain the same warmth like they did years ago, even on the day, he had parted ways to leave for Mathura.
I sob, not caring who was watching me. My friend, my first love was back after so many years. I wasn't going to hold back.
His fingers gently caress my back as I step out of his embrace. Even though, I am an old woman now, with him near me, I feel me teenage self come back.
Blushing hard, I look down at his beautiful feet. They are painted in red dye. His toe rings shine magnificently. Taking another step back, I look at him from head to toe.
There is a crown on his head with his signature feather on one side. His curly hair reaches his shoulders. Unlike me, they haven't lost their colour nor their thickness. And for heaven's sake, this man hasn't aged much. I felt bad for myself. He still looked ethereal while I an old maid.
"Tell me your beauty secret, Mohan." I look up at him and ask. My saggy cheeks feel warm. I pull my odhni closer to my face in case he sees my red face.
His eyes twinkle and a lovely smile curves on his lips. "And tell me since when did you start hiding yourself from me?"
I stare at him. "Why will I hide from you Kanha?"
He smiles some more and moves my odhni from my face, his fingers brush my cheek and I partly wince and partly melt. "There you go. This is the Nayani, I know."
His smile is infectious. Smiling ear to ear, I reply, "Well, this Nayani is not a young sixteen year old. She is married, a mother and now a grandmother. What will people say if they see me blushing in front of another man?"
He says nothing and walks to the river. I follow him. "Do you remember how I stole makhan from your pot here?"
Laughing at the memory, I look at him again and answer, "Of course, I do. I remember everything. I had chased you with a stick, remember?"
"I remember everything too, Nayani."
"Thank God, you do, Mathura nagarpati. A great man after all must remember his roots." I jokingly say. He chuckles and picks a leaf from the ground. He carefully twirls it with his fingers, his eyes examining the leaf in great detail.
"Where do you think will the leaf go if I blow it away?" He asks.
Taken aback by his question, I think for a while. Krishna has always been patient. He turns his body towards me, and I notice something different this time.
When he had arrived her, he looked youthful and radiant. He still looks godly handsome even now, but there is an unusual sadness gracing his features. I can sense something is heavy on his mind, which he is masking by a smile. His eyes look slightly tired. He needs rest, a long rest.
"The answer, Nayani?"
"Since it's the great mighty Krishna blowing the leaf, I am sure it will reach Vaikuntha dham."
He laughs again throwing his head back. His shoulders shake too. Surely, my humour wasn't great to receive such reaction from him.
He keeps on laughing until tears spring out of his eyes. There is a low snifle too. I touch his arm in concern. Was he okay?
Composing himself, he touches the peacock feathers on his crown and tugs at it. Holding my palm, he keeps the feather on it. "I will have to leave for my abode soon. There isn't much time left. So when I leave, blow this feather in air. Who knows this might reach Vaikuntha?"
My heartstrings tug again. He has to leave again? I wasn't going to keep him for long here. He has a lot of work in Dwaraka to do, but he could stay here for a day right?
"Why are you leaving so early? Stay tonight and leave tomorrow. You have to meet kaka kaki and other friends too."
He sighs deeply and closes those lotus petal like eyes. His hold on my palm tightens. "I wish I could do that sakhi. I wish, I could, but I can't. Time will make no exception for me. I will have to leave."
It feels like that unfateful day again. He had told me the same thing. 'I will have to leave. There is no choice. My duties call me.'
I purse my lips and look ahead. Silence settles deep between us. The only sound that I can hear is the gentle gurgling waves of the Yamuna.
Krishna speaks again. "Now now, there is no need to be angry. Let's make the best of our time now. You haven't told me about your family. How is your husband? Did you have a grandson or a grand daughter? Tell me what all did you do after I went away? Just keep talking until it's the time to go." I keep making a disappointed face, which causes the great lord of Dwarka to pout. "Please, just hear me out for one last time?"
And I fail to be mad over him. I narrate each and every incident that took place in his absence. I tell him all the village gossip. I tell him about my family. I tell him how I felt when he left the village, how I lived with this grief for a long time. And at last, when I felt satisfied, sharing every detail of my life with him, I sigh in tiredness and glance at him.
His eyes shine with tears, but there is still that damned smile on his lips. I feel he is hiding yet another news from me.
"You have aged quite well, do you know?"
"At last, I receive a well deserved compliment from the world's handsomest man. Indeed a pleasure, Kanha. Thank you."
There. He erupts into a cheerful laughter again. He stands up and dusts his uttariya. His eyes glance at the setting sun, now doused in shades of red and the sky, in orange and purple. Somewhere I spot some blues too.
He takes a step back, his hand outstretched. "It's time to go sakhi."
I stand up too, my fingers brush his fingertips. "Why so early? This is just like that day." My eyes burn with tears that I am sure will soon fall.
He moves back again, his hand still outstretched as if asking me to try and keep holding it as long as I am able to. "It is. I know. I am sorry. I have to. In a way I could fulfill my promise to you if not for the whole of Vrindavan."
"What do you mean?" I see his form lose its glimmer. His eyes look like fading stars on the onset of dawn.
"Send the feather high up in the air. It will reach me again. It carries all your love and affection for me."
"What's happening Mohan? I don't understand. You look like you are going to fade. Are you unwell?" I stifle a sob and blink those tears away. If this was the last of him, I had to see him until he goes away from my sight.
"Everything is going according to time. Do not worry, Nayani. Let me go. Until unless you leave my hand, I cannot go."
I feel my fingers lose their grip. "Don't go. Please..." I beg him, but I no it won't stop him. It didn't stop him then, it won't stop him now.
He smiles for the last time I think. I clutch the feather tightly. His looks at my fist and says, "Don't hold it so tightly in your fingers. It will crush."
"Krishna..." No other words come out. There is nothing much to say even.
"Nayani.." His voice is like a soft whisper now.
"Fine. Goodbye, Krishna.." I bid him farewell. Perhaps this is the last time I would see him here with me. I cannot tie him with me now, can I?
His smile has caused his face to look a little brighter now. He waves his fingers at me and repeats, "Goodbye, Nayani. Live well."
"You too."
"I have lived well and long. No more."
Huh?
"Sakhi, did you hear the terrible news from Dwaraka? Krishna is no more!"
*** *** **** *** ***** *** *** *** ***
"No, you hallucinated maybe. He is no more. He got shot by a hunter in the forest. Dwarka is submerged -- it now lies deep under the sea." I hear Shyamala, but I no longer respond. Krishna was here. I know it well. I know his touch, the warmth and softness they carry. I felt it. I am still a sane old woman.
"But he talked to me right here. I hugged him too. How can you say that?"
Shyamala starts crying. Her head is over my shoulder, her tears drench my blouse. She rubs my back. "The news has taken a toll on your mind, I think. He never came here!" Her tear stricken face stares at mine. "What do you think sakhi? If he was here, wouldn't the entirety of Vrindavan, go and meet him?"
My heart feels empty. I don't know what to think or what to say. Shyamala keeps consoling me. I don't even have tears in my eyes anymore.
Glancing at the waters of Yamuna again, I catch the peacock feather on my head and I remember what he had asked me to do.
"Let's go home, Shyamala. There's nothing we can do. At least now we know he would never come back to us." I say and get up.
My friend nods and gets up with great difficulty. She doesn't even groan at her aching joints now. The grief had surpassed the bodily pain too.
I see her walk ahead. She doesn't turn back, keeps wiping her eyes with one end of her odhni. I look at the sun. It's so small now and it's only a matter of time when it will depart from the sky. The red and orange hues have made way for the blues to take reign.
What a dark evening would it be today!
My right toe brushes over a soft feathery object. I look down and to my utter surprise, it's a peacock feather.
Picking it up, I stare at the feather. The blue and green colour draws me in. I see Krishna in them. He is playing by the river, stealing our pots and dancing with us. I see him watch the river with me. He is smiling so much and even I am happy too when I hear a voice.
"Let the feather fly."
And I follow his words. I caress it for one last time and kiss it. Looking up at the sky, I blow the feather and it moves up. High up. It doesn't even drift down once like most objects do. My eyes keep following its movement.
It's only a speck now. I can't keep looking at it. My eyes are burning. I can only hope that it somehow reaches him.
'Farewell Mathura nagarpati.'
I hear a splash. Did someone fall into the river?

10 Reasons Why the Top BBA Colleges in IP University Align Perfectly with Your Ambitions
Choosing the right college is one of the most critical decisions you’ll make after finishing school. It’s not about earning a degree; it’s about shaping your career, building your network, and developing the skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive world. For students looking to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) under Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IPU), college choice can significantly impact their future.
Many colleges are under IP University, and the Rukmini Devi Institute of Advanced Studies (RDIAS) has emerged as a leading choice for BBA aspirants. But what makes a college the “top” option, and how can you determine the best fit for your ambitions?
1. Define Your Career Goals
Before choosing a BBA college, think about where you see yourself in the next five or ten years. Do you want to enter the corporate world, pursue entrepreneurship, or prepare for an MBA? The right college will align with your goals and provide the support needed to achieve them.
RDIAS, for instance, stands out for its focus on career-oriented learning. It’s not just about textbooks; the institute emphasises practical skills, internships, and live projects to ensure students graduate with hands-on experience that aligns with industry demands.
2. Look for Recognition

Not all BBA programs are created equal. A good curriculum goes beyond theory, integrating practical knowledge and exposure to real business challenges.
RDIAS offers a well-structured program designed to prepare students for leadership roles. The curriculum includes core subjects like operations, marketing, finance, and human resources, along with industry-driven electives. What sets RDIAS apart is its emphasis on bridging the gap between classroom learning and business realities through workshops, certifications, and corporate interactions.
4. Placement Opportunities

RDIAS excels in this department with a committed placement cell that works tirelessly to connect students with leading recruiters. From training students for interviews to providing internships with industry leaders, the institute ensures its graduates are ready for jobs, and many renowned Companies are associated with RDIAS placements.
5. Consider Faculty Expertise
A college needs to be as good as its faculty. Professors with industry experience and academic expertise can provide the mentorship students need to succeed and give a frame to their ideas.
RDIAS's faculty comprises seasoned academicians and industry professionals who bring real-world insights into the classroom. Their guidance ensures students are not just prepared for exams but can also handle the challenges ahead in their careers.

Bharatanatyam: A Dance Through History and Culture - Meloostep
Bharatanatyam is a classical Indian dance form with roots tracing back over 2,000 years to Tamil Nadu. Originally performed in temples, Bharatanatyam was a sacred art form practiced by Devadasis (temple dancers) as an offering to the deities.
This dance served as a spiritual medium, narrating stories from Hindu scriptures such as the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Puranas through intricate movements and expressions.
In the colonial era, the art faced decline due to cultural shifts and stigmatization. However, in the 20th century, Bharatanatyam witnessed a revival, thanks to pioneers like Rukmini Devi Arundale, who adapted it for the stage and redefined it as a respected performance art.
Today, Bharatanatyam is recognized globally as a symbol of India’s cultural heritage. It has transcended its temple origins to become a vibrant art form performed on international stages, continuing to preserve its essence while adapting to modern times.
This historical journey reflects Bharatanatyam’s resilience, artistry, and enduring spiritual significance.

Whatever this mood board is, with a red purse has been my mood today...
Two Tibetan Buddhist nuns came to my home today. They were lovely to chat with. They invited me to visit their temple and I'm excited to meet their friends. It's an interestingly connected world that we live in. I wasn't expecting to host nuns today, but I'm very glad we did. We had fun getting acquainted! I've met so many interesting people this week and the week is not over yet.
Here's to 2025 being a major year for new connections, new friends, and feeling comfortable in your own skin.

🫧🪼Rivers of Divinity: Names of Rukminī from Her Sahasranāma

Sarayū (सरयू); The River of Infinite Merit
Sarayū, a river originating from the Himalayas, is revered as a celestial stream that grants boundless satisfaction to the ancestors (Pitṛs). The Skanda Purāṇa glorifies its sanctity, stating that a mere visit to Sarayū bestows merit greater than performing Śrāddha at Gayā. It is said that:
Staying in Ayodhyā, the city of Rāma, in the Kali Yuga grants the same merit as performing Śrāddha at Gayā & visiting Jagannātha Purī. Bathing in Sarayū is as auspicious as residing in Mathurā for a Kalpa. Its sanctity equals the merits obtained by observing holy rituals in Puṣkara & Prayāga during the months of Māgha or Kārttika. A single glimpse of Sarayū confers the same divine merit as staying in Avantī for countless Kalpas.
Even a fleeting moment spent in Rāma’s sacred city during Kali Yuga is equivalent to sixty thousand years of bathing in the Ganga. Such is the immeasurable divinity of Sarayū, a river embodying the grace & purity of Rukmini herself.

Candrabhāgā (चन्द्रभागा) ; The Moon-Blessed Stream
Candrabhāgā, a river mentioned in the Padma Purāṇa & Nīlamata Purāṇa, is a celestial stream imbued with the cool, purifying essence of the moon’s rays. The Padma Purāṇa declares that:
Those who bathe in Candrabhāgā daily are exceptionally meritorious. Worshiping Lord Śiva at Candrabhāgā’s other bank, where he is venerated as Candreśvara, eradicates sins & grants divine blessings.
The Nīlamata Purāṇa further extols its sanctity:
Candrabhāgā is eternally pure, but its holiness reaches its peak on the 13th day of the bright fortnight in the month of Māgha, when all sacred waters—including oceans and lakes—converge upon it. The river is said to have descended from the locks of Lord Śiva, torn forth by the moon god (Candra), thus earning the name Candrabhāgā.
As Rukminī is the moon-like radiance of Śrī Krishna, so too does this river reflect her cooling, purifying grace upon all who seek refuge in its waters.

Suparṇā (सुपर्णा); The Divine Protector
The Skanda Purana narrates the tale of Suparṇelā, a sacred river near the Bhairavi shrine, south of Durga-Kūṭa. This river derives its sanctity from a celestial event:
When Amṛta (nectar of immortality) was safeguarded near the Nāgas, the river Suparṇelā emerged as its divine protector. The land surrounding it is called Ilā, & the river was established by Suparna, making it a pāpanāśinī—a destroyer of sins.
Suparṇelā, like Rukminī, stands as a guardian of divine nectar, a sacred force of protection & purity, bestowing liberation upon those who honor her.

Bhīmarathī (भीमरथी) – The River That Strikes Fear in Sins
Bhimarathi, one of the sacred rivers originating from the Sahya mountains, is mentioned in several Puranas as a stream of immense spiritual power:
The Agni Purāṇa lists it alongside other sacred rivers such as Tāpī, Payoṣṇikā, Godavari, & Kṛṣṇaveṇī, highlighting its divine origin. The Mahabharata describes Bhīmarathī as a river teeming with life, home to birds & deer, & graced by the hermitages of great ascetics. It is said to possess the power to destroy both sin & fear. The Padma Purāṇa proclaims that Bhīmarathī always instills fear in sins, making it a river of unparalleled sanctity, capable of washing away impurities of the soul.
Like Bhīmarathī, Rukminī too is a force of divine justice—her grace destroys fear, removes negativity, & grants liberation to her devotees.

Veṇikā (वेणिका) – The Sacred Stream of Celestial Unions
Venika, a river mentioned in the Varaha Purana, is counted among the seven great rivers of Śākadvīpa. Its sanctity is further emphasized in other Purāṇic texts:
The Śiva Purāṇa narrates that Veṇikā, along with Godavari, Yamuna, & Brahmastrī, attended the divine wedding of Shiva & Pārvatī, signifying its celestial importance. The Mahābhārata (Bhīṣma Parva, Chapter 11) praises Veṇikā as a river of immense holiness, its waters carrying the power of divine blessings
Veṇikā symbolizes sacred unions & divine presence—much like Rukmini, who embodies the eternal consort of Shri Krishna, the union of love and devotion.
In Rukminī Sahasranāma, names like Sarayū, Candrabhāgā, and Suparṇā reflect her divine essence—bestowing merit, radiating celestial grace, and guarding the nectar of immortality. Just as these rivers nourish the land, Rukminī nourishes the soul, guiding devotees toward purity, devotion, & eternal bliss.

Why ???
Ch-1 You Must Go
The setting of the story -
Pandavas lost their Kingdom in the Game of Dice, Draupadi was humiliated and they were asked to go for Exile for 12 years and 1 year in Incognito.
When the battlefield echoed with the clash between Shri Krishna and King Shalva, a poignant scene unfolded. In the midst of chaos, Rukmini's silent prayers filled the air, her unwavering faith weaving a symphony of hope amidst the looming shadows of misfortune.
Krishna and Rukmini sat together in the serene chambers of Dwarka's royal palace; the soft glow of the oil lamps bathed the room in a warm, golden light. The gentle flicker of the flames cast dancing shadows upon the walls, painting intricate patterns that seemed to sway and undulate with the rhythm of their conversation.
Rukmini gently tended to the minor wounds that Krishna had sustained during the battle against King Shalva. While she was doing her work, Krishna couldn't resist a playful quip, "You know, my dear, I'm not actually feeling any pain. I could easily use my divine powers to heal myself."
Rukmini chuckled softly, "Oh, Krishna," she said with a fond shake of her head, "always ready to remind me of your Godliness. But for just this moment, let us set aside our original roles and normally behave as human beings, sharing in each other's pains and cares. It feels nice sometimes."
Krishna's playful demeanor softened as he looked into Rukmini's eyes, his gaze filled with love and appreciation. "You're right, my beloved," he replied, his voice tender with affection. "In your hands, even the simplest act becomes sacred. Thanks for reminding me of the beauty of our shared humanity."
With a warm smile, Rukmini leaned in to place a gentle kiss on Krishna's cheek, a silent expression of their deep connection and shared love. Her touch was tender, her hands moving with practiced care as she cleaned and dressed the injuries.
As she worked, Rukmini's gaze fell upon Krishna's right hand, where a faded scar marred the smooth skin of his palm. Her breath caught in her throat as she traced the outline of the scar with her fingertips, a flood of memories washing over her.
With a soft sigh, Rukmini looked up at Krishna, her eyes filled with understanding and love. She knew that this scar was a reminder of a different incident, one where Draupadi had torn a piece of her cloth to bind Krishna's wound when he had injured his hand.
"Hrishikesh," Rukmini began softly, her voice filled with reverence, "this scar... it reminds me of the day Panchali bound your wound with a piece of her cloth, and you vowed to retain the debt to her."
Krishna met his wife's gaze with a gentle smile, his eyes reflecting the depth of his gratitude and admiration for Draupadi. "Indeed, Vaidarbhi," he replied, his voice tinged with reverence, "My Krishnaa holds a special place in my heart, and I will always be there to protect her, no matter the distance."
As Rukmini diligently tended to Krishna's wounds, her mind weighed heavy with unspoken thoughts and worries. Despite her efforts to maintain a calm demeanor, Krishna could sense her hesitance and sadness lingering beneath the surface.
Just as she reached for another jar of medicine, Krishna tenderly grasped her hand, his touch gentle yet firm. "Rukmini," he said softly, his eyes filled with warmth and concern, "I can sense that something troubles you. Please, share your burden with me. You know, you don't have to carry it alone."
Rukmini's heart swelled with emotion at Krishna's compassionate gesture, and she found herself unable to resist the urge to confide in him. With a heavy sigh, she met his gaze, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "Krishna," she began, her voice trembling slightly, "You are Omniscient, why do you ask me what troubles me when you already know?"
A gentle smile tugged at the corners of Krishna's lips as he reached out to wipe away a tear from Rukmini's cheek. "My dear," he replied tenderly, "your words speak volumes of your love and concern for me. Though I may possess Omniscience, your voice is the balm that soothes my soul, the anchor that grounds me in the realm of Humanity."
Rukmini smiled with tears as Krishna hugged her. The weight of the Pandavas' plight hung heavy in the air. Rukmini's heart ached for Draupadi, her friend and sister-in-law, who had suffered such indignity. With the wisdom of the divine coursing through him, Krishna listened intently to Rukmini's concerns.
"O Madhav," she began as she breaks from the embrace, her voice laced with sadness and anger, "my heart aches for the plight of the Pandavas. The deceitful acts of the Kauravas have brought nothing but suffering and injustice upon them."
Her eyes flashed with righteous anger as she continued, "To see our dear friends, who are noble and virtuous, subjected to such cruelty fills me with rage. It is unjust, it is unfair, and it is utterly heartbreaking."
"And Draupadi... What was her fault Keshav ?? Why she ??," Rukmini's voice laced with concern. "She is your most Beloved Friend and she is very much dear to me as well. So, please, take extra care of her. She is broken-hearted, and I fear she will not heed anyone's words except yours."
Krishna listened attentively, his own heart heavy with empathy for his Pandav Cousins and his Sakhi, Draupadi. He reached out to gently caress Rukmini's hand, offering her a silent gesture of comfort and support.
"Vaidarbhi," Krishna said softly, his voice filled with compassion, "I share in your sorrow and your anger. The actions of the Kauravas have indeed brought great suffering upon the Pandavas, and it pains me to see them endure such hardships."
He looked into Rukmini's eyes with unwavering resolve. "Don't worry, my love," he reassured her, "I will do everything in my power to ease the burdens of our dear Pandavas. I will go to their aid. Their trials have not gone unnoticed, and their cries for justice shall not be in vain."
"As for my Krishnaa, I will be her pillar of strength, Dearest," he assured her, his voice gentle yet resolute. "Her pain is no alien to me. She will find solace and strength in my presence, and together, we will navigate these troubled waters."
Rukmini's eyes softened with gratitude as she clasped Krishna's hand in hers. "Thank you, Madhusudan, you are the embodiment of compassion and strength," she whispered, her voice filled with love and appreciation. "With you by their side, I have no doubt that the Pandavas and Draupadi will find solace and hope."
Krishna pressed a kiss to Rukmini's forehead, his love for her shining brightly in his eyes. "You and I, both of us will guide our dear friends through the darkness and into the light, I promise," he vowed, his voice steady and sure.
With his assurance, Rukmini felt a glimmer of hope stirring within her heart. Though the road ahead was fraught with challenges, she found comfort in the knowledge that Krishna would be by their side, guiding them through the darkest of times.
Next Day, Krishna departed from Dwarka, his mind already weaving plans to comfort and support the Pandavas in their time of need. As Dwarkadhish and the Supreme Advisor and Guide to the Pandavas, he knew that his presence would bring solace and hope to their troubled souls.
≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾
As Krishna prepared to depart from Dwarka, Rukmini stood at the palace balcony, her heart heavy with foreboding. She watched as her beloved husband mounted his chariot, his divine presence radiant even from a distance. A sense of impending devastation lingered in the air... Despite her knowledge of her own divine nature as an avatar of the Supreme Goddess, Rukmini couldn't shake the overwhelming sense of concern that enveloped her.
It wasn't any fear for Krishna that troubled her, for she knew his true essence as the Almighty, free from the bonds of mortal attachments. Instead, but it was the emotional toll of the impending trials that weighed heavily on her heart. Even though Krishna transcended earthly emotions, Rukmini couldn't help but worry about the toll that witnessing the suffering of their friends would take on him.
Just then, Satyabhama, Rukmini's co-wife but dear sister and confidante, approached her with a concerned expression etched upon her features. Sensing Rukmini's distress, she reached out a comforting hand.
"Didi, what weighs so heavily on your mind?" Satyabhama inquired softly, her eyes filled with worry. "I can sense a deep sorrow within you, as if the winds of fate whisper of impending doom. Are u alright??"
Rukmini turned to Satyabhama, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. "I am fine Bhama, just wondering that the ways of destiny are indeed strange," she began, her voice tinged with sadness. "Despite our best efforts, people still make choices that lead to destruction, blinded by their own desires and ego."
Satyabhama nodded in understanding, her expression grave. "Indeed, Didi, Karma is a relentless force," she murmured, her voice tinged with bitterness. "Those who sow seeds of injustice shall reap the whirlwind of their actions. Time is a merciless arbiter, and none can escape its judgment."
Rukmini took a moment to absorb Satyabhama's words, her heart heavy with the weight of truth. "We can only hope and pray that righteousness prevails in the end," she said, her voice filled with determination. "May Vaasudev guide us through these turbulent times, and may justice be served to those who deserve it."
"Don't worry, Didi," Satyabhama said, her voice filled with unwavering confidence. "Our Vaasudev, the protector of all, will weave his divine canvas of protection. He won't allow the shadows of despair to darken our path or cast their pall over those we hold dear." With a reassuring smile, she placed a gentle hand on Rukmini's trembling shoulder, her gaze alight with steadfast belief in the omnipotent love of their husband. "His divine embrace, painted with strokes of love and compassion, will shield us from harm and guide us through the darkest of nights."
"My dear Bhama," Rukmini began, her voice tinged with concern, "while I have faith in Krishna's divine protection, I cannot shake the worry that gnaws at my heart. I am troubled by the emotional toll these trials may take on him. Despite his divine nature, witnessing the suffering of our dear friends will surely affect him deeply." She sighed softly, "I pray that amidst the challenges ahead, Madhav finds the strength and solace he needs to endure," she added, her voice filled with a mixture of hope and apprehension.
Satyabhama listened attentively to Rukmini's words, her expression thoughtful as she considered her sister's concerns. Placing a reassuring hand on Rukmini's arm, she spoke with quiet conviction. "Let us place our trust in Vaasudev's infinite wisdom and love," Satyabhama continued, her voice filled with conviction. "For in his divine hands, even the greatest trials can be transformed into opportunities for growth and redemption."
Rukmini nodded to Satyabhama's words, faintly smiling. With a shared understanding of the harsh realities of life, Rukmini and Satyabhama watched as Krishna's chariot disappeared into the horizon.
But the Dwarkeshwari felt a pang of sorrow deep within. Her heart clenched with a sense of helplessness. Though she understood the nature of Krishna's divine mission, her love for him compelled her to worry about his emotional well-being; and also about the specter of impending doom loomed large in her mind, casting a shadow over her optimism. She could only hope that her Krishna, in his infinite wisdom, would find solace and strength amidst the darkness, even as she prayed fervently that Krishna would return unscathed from the trials that lay ahead....

the spiritual journey of bharatanatyam - from temple dance to global stage | Spardha School Of Music
This ancient dance form reflects the sacred connection between art and spirituality. Bharatanatyam’s graceful expressions and precise movements narrate epic tales, celebrating life and divinity. Its journey from temple sanctuaries to international stages highlights its universal relevance. Spardha School of Music proudly carries forward this legacy, nurturing passion and creativity https://www.spardhaschoolofmusic.com/blog/the-spiritual-journey-of-bharatanatyam-from-temple-dance-to-global-stage
One of India's oldest classical dance forms, Bharatanatyam, was performed in the temples of Tamil Nadu. Traditionally, this dance was not only an art but also a form of worship, a language of the faith, and a way of expressing stories.
Today, it has grown and reached across the globe, but even then, it remains a divine dance form. Students who have been eager to learn this dance form are enrolling in offline or online dance lessons. Below is a glimpse of its exciting history, from temple sanctuaries to the world's stage.
1. Ancient Origins
Bharatnatyam art originated more than 2000 years ago as Sadhir Attam and was practiced and performed only in temples. The devadasis (temple dancers) dedicated their lives to the dance of prayer and gift to deities.
Their dance moves convey messages associated with Hindu gods and goddesses.
They enacted scenes derived from epics such as the Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Every twist, turn, and face (or mudra) in Bharatanatyam has a specific message—a significance felt by both dancers and the audience.
This is why they have managed to keep Bharatanatyam going and take shape for other generations.
Perhaps the best revelation by Dance Scholar Sunil Kothari was his remark about Bharatanatyam, “It is not just dance; it is divinity in a language-like form, beyond words.”
2. The Colonial Era and Revival
The British colonial era had several problems regarding this. The devadasi system was tainted, and even the temple dancers of Bharatanatyam were banned from performing in temples.
However, it was again brought into practice in the 20th century by leaders like Rukmini Devi Arundale and the Late E. Krishna Iyer, who spread the abstract concept of the dance form with a highly spiritual message.
They brought the art form to mortuary arches and altered it so that the secular world could sustain itself outside the temples.
3. Bharatanatyam in the Global Context
Today, Bharatanatyam has become a recognized dance form internationally with many complex, beautiful, and spiritual impressions.
However, it is still traditional even in today’s stories and looks broader in its appeal.
Contemporary performers keep using Bharatanatyam to portray today’s story and highlight social issues, hence appealing to many.
Bharatanatyam focuses on the beauty of its movements, which commands respect and calls out to the spirit.
Even when performed outside the temple, the soul of Bharatanatyam is always devotion or bhakti, and the gestures also speak across space and time, conveying basic human sentiments.
The experts say that whenever this dance form is practiced in an auditorium in New York or any temple in Chennai, it conveys the same spiritually charged message that makes it timeless.
4. Final Thoughts
The stage growth of Bharatanatyam from the temple sanctum to the world stages is a rich testimonial.
With a quote from Rukmini Devi Arundale, a pioneer in retrieving Bharatanatyam, art should be defined as “The art in its real terms is the representation of spirit in the domain of the infinite.”
Bharatanatyam, which is all about spirituality, tradition, and flexibility masked in an overly aesthetic form, has remained a wondrous form of art that has created wonders for audiences for centuries.
