pitting rukia and orihime against each other will always fail with me because i genuinely think they're two of the best girls in shonen, but i love it when people try to do it in fanfic, because there was this one story i read ages ago where the author implied that, in-universe, girls desired rukia whereas boys desired orihime, which is very funny to say about a character who a canon lesbian has a crush on, who has more female friends, and whose most popular ship after ulquihime is tatsuhime. like. i am sorry but orihime is kissing different girls on the mouth bi-weekly, she is fruity as hell.

#meanwhile rukia's first and only girlbestfriend in canon is orihime 😭#i mean. in my head rukia definitely kisses women in fanon too but if you asked me which of the two was more likely to be a lesbian based on #canon character interactions...let me just remind you that orihime was doing gay shit as early as the AOTS arc #and that sora mentioned BOTH ichigo AND tatsuki as the people who took her away from him #she is a raging bisexual!!! do you know how rare it is for a female shonen character to have THREE good gay ships?#the fact that orihime has interacted with three whole women for enough time for people to ship it..yuri IS a competition and she's winning #anyway sorry for getting up in arms about this but i will admit that i laughed out loud when i first read that sentence #canon rukia has not believably convinced me she knows what yuri is yet but trust that she is a fast learner #meanwhile orihime is the founder of karakura high's gay straight alliance #like. this is such a weird thing to get competitive about but if we ARE competing...orihime is winning i'm sorry #rukia has the polls and i love that for her but orihime has the gays. you cannot take this achievement away from her #<- this is all in jest btw and if you talk shit about either of them i will shoot you <3
