I could be wrong (notoriously bad memory) but from what I can recall I don’t think rui & nene had like. A solid clear definitive end to their friendship. Given the little they’ve talked about it. I think the more likely scenario is that rui slowly pushed her away & she had no idea how to reach out to him especially after she gave up on shows/acting (pre wxs rui kamishiro voice I can’t connect to ppl outside of shows + nene generally being non confrontational and out of her depth) & then when he went to whatever school he went to the first year of high school they just completely lost contact beyond like. Occasionally saying hi to each other if they were both outside of their houses at the same time.

#rui #nene #Rui was like I don’t need friends & she’s going to leave anyways she has better things to do & other friends #& nene lacked the ability to tell him he was wrong #even b4 nene froze on stage they were already pretty distant (wonder halloween)#but I feel like after that rui was like our one common interest is gone so she definitely wants nothing to do with me #rui & nene and their complete inability to help each other and #(in the beginning) enabling the other to stagnate. more so on rui’s end. but. fascinating.#together they have 3000 mental illnesses.
