Olivia was nervous, standing near the others, watching the Saviors roam around the little compound. Barely more than a couple houses with fortifications, it wasn’t a particularly nice or secure settlement, but there were people, and relative safety. At least, there had been. She’d only been there a week or so. Some of the others told her bits and pieces of things. That they owed the ‘Saviors’ tribute. That they needed to find enough salvage. And more recently, that they hadn’t. Several of them stood in a knot in tense silence as Tim, the self-styled leader spoke to the man they called Negan.

He was frightening, even from a distance. Tall and imposing and carrying a barbed-wire wrapped baseball bat. From what she’d heard it wasn’t just for show. 

Tim knew he was in serious trouble. They hadn’t managed to get the supplies the Saviors demanded, and that... was bad for them. It was beyond bad for them. Still, there had to be something.

He swallowed. “I-I know we’re short. It won’t happen again but... I was thinking maybe...” He glanced over at the others, watching, waiting. “There’s a new girl. The little redhead over there.” He nodded toward her. She stood a bit separate from the others, not quite integrated yet. He hated to throw her under the bus, really he did. But she was barely a part of the group. 

“She says she used to be a nurse. She’s real pretty, too. So I thought maybe...” He let the offer hang in the air. She’d hardly been there any time. No one would miss her terribly. Sure, he was offering her up on a silver platter to a man who would do god only knew what with her, but... Well. He had to think of the community, after all.

Ever since the turn, Sariya preferred to remain alone. Too afraid of becoming attached to people who could easily die, herself included. Too afraid of people who had nothing left to live for, who were reckless. But when she found herself a part of a tight-knit crew, she had never felt more at home. Tall fences, plenty of supplies and a team that worked hard together to succeed. 

But this utopia couldn’t last forever, the number of walkers had grown and the fences couldn’t old them all back. The group was slaughtered and the few who had survived had scattered. Sariya had considered herself lucky, at least until after supposedly clearing a recently abandoned house left her bitten and terrified. The only walker in the house had gotten her, a careless mistake. For three days, the woman remained locked away in the very room that she had been bitten in, her revolver clutched in her trembling hands. Trying. Trying so hard to pull the trigger. She refused to become one of those things.

But after 5 whole days of… absolute nothing. Sariya tore the bloodied shirt away the shirt and looked at herself in the mirror. The bite on the innermost part of her upper arm, was mangled but scabbed and scarring. She had seen people turn, knew what to expect and none of that happened. Shock set in again, moving on autopilot - the woman bandaged the wound and pulled a new shirt on. Pulling together what she could in a hurry, Sariya grabbed her gun and ran. And ran. As far and for as long as her legs would carry her. No one could know, no one could find out. 

Nearly out of the woods, she collapsed against a large tree - hidden between a patch of brush and the large base of the tree. It was a safe place to catch her breath, until the snap of a branch behind her caught her attention. Immediately on her feet, Sariya aimed her gun - pulling back the hammer as she came face to face with a group of scavengers. Instinctively, she shifted the large bag behind her as blue hues, as bright as the clear skies, eyed them warily.

;;GOD THERE’S JUST SO MUCH YOU COULD DO WITH A CHARACTER LIKE THAT, esp with Kristin Bauer van Straten playing her. I’m certain she and JDM would be electric on screen together. I love the idea of the head wife that better reigns him in, kind of rules alongside him, gets how to play the game where others are naive, etc. I just. Yes. Perfect.

Ace was never one to be modest, even before the word went to shit, and it wasn’t something she flaunted about herself. Yet when someone asks, especially her leader, the girl abides. She’d be lying to herself if she didn’t find him attractive even if he was old enough to be her father and struck her with terror every time she seen him wielding Lucille. Of course before she found herself drawn to the things that caused her knees to weaken out of fear or adrenaline. Why would now be any different? 

The blonde turned to face Negan once again and asked, “Like whatcha see?” Her arms out stretched for a second to emphasize her question and her feet slow to a backwards crawl.

Tears collected at the edges of her eye, threatening to cause eye liner and mascara to run should they break and roll down the curve of her cheek. The feel of his hands against her, of pushing her back and holding her as if, at least in her romantic thinking, he needed her there -- as if his well being depended on having her there as his wife.

It had been a long day for the both of them. War was looming in the distance as the other settlements grew to making deals to combine forces to go against their small army, to change the way things were ordered in the world surrounding them.

Fingers pressed gently against the curve of his jaw line as she looked to his exhausted features and it was in this moment, as in so many others between the two of them, that she saw the man behind the leader many saw as a merciless beast.

❝ Okay, ❞ words whispered as a nod was offered. Lisa intertwined her fingers between his as she agreed to stay with him, recognizing that perhaps he needed her more than she’d ever believed, ❝ I’ll stay. ❞

Character in general: DADDO! I love Negan so much, he’s very complex, and at times, can be very hard to understand.
