What do you like most about being a local business in your area?
We love Mississippi! There’s nothing like doing business with a local company, it is so rewarding knowing you are helping others in your area. We are a very relationship driven company and try to always use a hands on approach with our clients to create unique and meaningful products for their events and needs.

Eden Travis of Carty and Cat
Give us a quick rundown of your business!
Carty and Cat started out as a creative outlet reserved for doodling and painting while my little people slept. As they grew, so did my outlet, and now I focus on graphic design, watercolor, and calligraphy for all things paper. I have a passion for fun and love being a small part of everyone’s celebrations, big and small, through my custom designs.
What do you like most about being a local business in your area?
Being a local business in Jackson, MS is exciting for several reasons. Mainly because the community members are eager to support one another, and word of mouth is still a great advertising tool here. It’s also a perk of the business that throughout the constant communication during a custom design, people quickly go from clients to friends, and that’s truly something to celebrate.

Kay Parker of Kay Parker Interiors
Give us a quick rundown of your business!
Life can sometimes bring changes and opportunities we didn’t expect, and for me the detour has landed me enjoying my love of decorating more than I ever expected!  I guess you can say I specialize in residential construction, selecting paint colors and materials for new homes, but I also love remodeling and space planning, using furniture and accessories my clients already have, then adding a statement piece or accessories that update the space with a fresh new look!  I love when a client says “I would have never thought to put that there!” and I hear that often, even when decorating for the holidays!
What do you like most about being a local business in your area?
I love the South and most of my clients do too, and we have an awesome selection of home furnishings here in our area that reflect our love of antiques, linen fabrics, great art and accessories!  I love shopping local so my clients can actually see what they are buying instead of ordering. Some clients just need to see it in their space, and then they love it!

Jeannie Hood of J.Blair Designs
Give us a quick rundown of your business!
J.Blair Designs started as a hobby with a single machine in a spare bedroom of our home, that eventually grew into a thriving business. I specialize in custom home and lifestyle embroidery with an emphasis on personalized customer service. We offer a wide variety of services and products: from baby gifts to holiday outfits to tailgate accessories and everything in between. When I'm not busy fulfilling orders, I am taking care of our three kiddos ages 5, 3, and 18 months.
What do you like most about being a local business in your area?
Being a small, local business provides the opportunity to build relationships with people I otherwise may never have met. I truly enjoy getting to know my customers as we collaborate on items for those special moments in their lives: from newborn hats and gowns, to lunchboxes and backpacks for the first day of school, all the way to monogrammed towels for college. I love being a real person behind the business, and I hope my customers feel that personal touch.

We are a full floral design service offering everything from party and wedding flowers to special occasion arrangements and funeral flowers.
What do you like most about being a local business in your area?
I think the thing that I love most about being a local business is the relationships and friendships that I have made along the way.  It makes my job so special and fulfilling. Jackson is a city but to me it also has the small town feel that brings a warm sense of community to it’s local businesses.
