What is the Ideal Strategy for the Libertarian Party?
@ComicDaveSmith educating @nsarwark on what a successful strategy for the liberty movement (via the @LPNational entails i.e. RonPaul approach: principled radical abolitionism.
[1] Abolitionism was a movement to end private slavery. #Libertarianism is a movement to end private and public slavery. — Jakub Bozydar Wisniewski
[2] The word 'radical' comes up several times in the debate. It's important because it strikes at the root of the issue: https://conza.tumblr.com/post/176801273794/radical-abolitionists (HT: @MurrayRothbard)... a stellar excerpt from "Do You Hate the State?. A passion for justice is the essence of #libertarianism

[3] What made @RonPaul so special? http://tiny.cc/RPstrategy | He was essentially both an educator & abolitionist at the same time. As a radical he called for the abolition of the #IRS, #CIA, #FBI, @usedgov, @DHSgov, @USDOL, the @federalreserve & bring the troops home immediately..

[4]@RepRonPaul did this in the national mainstream debates & throughout his campaign—while avoiding the pitfalls of opportunism. Why did @RandPaul fail to maintain the rEVOLution? He dropped the radical/abolitionist approach. The anti-establishment vote went to @realDonaldTrump

[5] Urge immediate abolition as earnestly as we may, it will, alas! be gradual abolition in the end. We have never said that slavery would be overthrown by a single blow; that it ought to be, we shall always contend. —William Lloyd Garrison, The Liberator, 1831 #success
[6] The pattern repeats itself so often that it almost seems to be a law of history: radicals who change history must do so over the resistance of the moderates, who claim to be friendly to the same cause, but somehow always end up on the side of established interests —@lewrockwell
[7] What does a successful liberty platform/approach look like for @LPNational? The 10 Principles @RonPaul followed to build the liberty movement where differences were happily put aside: http://lprc.org/tenpoints
Tumblr media
[8] Summary—1) Principled Populism, 2) Rights Are Primary, 3) Power Elite Analysis, 4) Resistance & The Oppressed, 5) No Compromise, 6) No Particular Order, 7) Strategic Centrism, 8) Radical Abolitionism, 9) Anti-Imperialism & Centrality of Foreign Policy, 10) Anti-State Coalition

[9] What about a solution for some of the internal issues @nsarwark raised about libertarian 'diversity' within the LP? Simple—take the http://lprc.org/pledge. I can't stress how much the elaborated rationale behind the pledge solves your concerns. Notice: no purity test

Ron Paul — Voluntarist
This is what validation looks like. The case is closed and has been for some time: Ron Paul is a pure and consistent principled libertarian. He's an anarcho-capitalist, voluntarist, support of private law etc. I have argued this since '07 when I first joined the RP campaign. The evidence was always crystal clear if you had the open mind and heart to look. I personally always eschew the label of anarchy and for good reason.

Ron Paul on Government Owned Land
Here he expresses his position that the government should not own any land. From his chapter on Immigration in Liberty Defined:
"In the ideal libertarian world, borders would be blurred and open."
"The land and property would be privately owned and controlled by the owners, who would have the right to prevent newcomers from entering without permission."

Ron Paul: “What I’m talking about is an ideological revolution”
Reporter: “As you are reflecting back on your campaign, are you unhappy with your party?”
Ron Paul: “Well, it’s not my party. I don’t like politics at all… As far as being pleased I am super pleased with what’s working… I am super-energized and optimistic about what’s happening, because the ideas are changing. What I’m talking about is an ideological revolution.”
