CHASE BRYANT//28 YEARS OLD

imagine the little boy who ran around with everyone. the other little boys saying “ew gross” when it came to girls but chase was pretty cool about it, especially since his best friend was the little girl next door. chase has always been the laid back type and had the whole ‘go with the flow’ attitude. he was the middle child, that his parents never had to worry about, so when he announced at his 18th birthday party he was joining the army, it came to quite a shock. chase left for basic and was deployed multiple times, did a few tours over seas until he got shot twice, once in the back of the calf and the other in his shoulder. so he’s now come back home to surprise everyone. confetti everywhere!

he spends his free time at a local bar with his best bud garrison, shooting pool ragging on each other while convinced they’re gonna kick each others ass. their “military squad” is so well known at this bar it’s become basically the hotspot for them all to go grab a beer and let loose. he also spends a lot of his time talking through walkie talkie’s with his best friend and soon to be girlfriend kira (though neither know it yet because their feelings are just surfacing). he’s terrible at riding horses but the kind of guy he is, he will do it anyway to spend time with you. he’s forgetful so if he forgets your plans he promises it won’t be intentional. he’s full of anecdotes and jokes, if you can handle his dominant personality at times, you’re good in his eyes.

garrison greene grew up in maybe pavor's trashiest trailer parks in a family of nine kids. being the oldest, it was up to garrison to help raise his brothers and sisters while his mother drank herself into a stupor and his father worked 16 hour shifts just to provide for the family. he knew that if he didn't do something, he would end up like his parents - and that was something he couldn't abide by.

the military seemed like the perfect option. he loved helicopters, had even built a model apache from scraps from the junk he found in both the trailer park and the industrial junk yard nearby. he earned a scholarship to the virginia military institute, and only a few weeks after he graduated, he was off to officer school in georgia.

of course, being in the thick of it all during the worst years of operation freedom meant there were many days that he wondered if he even made the right choice in joining the military. anything could have been better than lugging sixty pounds of equipment through the god forsaken desert. he just had to remind himself of his brothers and sisters, and how little they had, and he always found he could push through.

on his final tour a few years ago, one he considered a cake tour, thanks to the war quieting down a bit, he was piloting some green soldiers back to base, when an anti-aircraft rifle took down his plane. he was lucky enough to be alone at the time, but the crash resulted in him losing his left leg. he took it as a pennance - so he'd lost a leg and had a few bullet wounds. a lot of great men he knew had lost their lives out here.

once he recovered from his amputation, he was sent back to his home of pavor, where there was an army base near by. it wasn't where he wanted to be, at a desk, pushing paperwork, but he knew he could never go back to the desert and it was better than trying to readjust to civilian life, at any rate.

now he lives in a large house in solimar with his brother, sister, and their friends, and runs a small veteran's program at the pavor community center.

val was born somewhere in texas but somehow ended up in pavor with her mom after they left her dad because he wasn't a nice person. her mom wasn't perfect either so val kinda took care of herself mostly from the time she was like 13. her mom had a job just to barely keep the roof of a shitty house over their heads, but val was pretty much allowed to do whatever she wanted, which usually involved being out of the house because it was boring just sitting around watching her mom get drunk. she went to lame teen house parties and played spin the bottle and seven minutes in heaven and all that jazz.

ten years later she's all grown up and on her own! just kidding. she's part of the crackhouse crew and lives in a house in basilo with a handful of other young "adults" who are totally not running it into the ground or anything. she tends to walk around in either a shirt (no bra) and underwear or a bra and like track pants or something. it's hot af new mexico and clothes are annoying. ~shrug. also she's a simple dog walker but like not consistently. she's not responsible or motivated enough for the 9 to 5 life (but she gets to hang out with dogs and it's fab) so she just barely contributes to the household tbh.

so at 23 she's still the irresponsible, go-out-and-do-stupid-shit-for-fun type of girl she's always been. she’s down for literally anything anytime tbh bc life’s too short. she will drink all the booze with you, smoke all the weed with you, eat all the food with you, watch all the netflix with you, stay out all night doing god knows what with you. she has very few boundaries and she's not shy in any way whatsoever, she's shameless really. she flirts with p much everyone bc it’s fun and casual hookups are her jam - no slut shaming here, live your life!

grew up in a very traditional italian family who believed in the “it takes a village” concept, matt was used to neighbors being at their house until the day his parents died. his parents also didn’t die a couple, they divorced when matt was seventeen but lived together in harmony as single people until their days on earth were done.

in college, matt married super young, dropped out after he put a ring on it and they lived happily together thinking that was what they wanted. matt got into construction and eventually took over the business once the owner decided to retire. he actually built the house he and his wife lived in so he is very attached to the house and probably will never sell it. at age 32, his wife and him got divorced after deciding that they really had no romantic feelings for each other, but remaining incredibly close friends. 

currently involved in a messy romance plot with his neighbor who’s cat won’t leave him alone because he shared his fish one time and he’s now paying for it.
