“Player Agency” in TTRPGs

I have a slightly different take than most players and GMs/DMs when it comes to Player Agency. The GM has their own roles to fulfill. Anything else would be chaos.

I’ve been hearing this term a lot lately and thought it was time to say something. What is “Player Agency” in a TTRPG? To put it in the simplest terms, it’s the freedom for the players to do anything they want in character.
