Whumpril Day 25 - "On the Run"
Takes place before 1.0 - Spoiler Free!
Go go go go!
Ducking under branches and skidding through the dirt, he vaults over the boulder and presses his back to the stone, taking a moment to catch his breath. His grip tightens around the bow in his hand, and glancing down at his quiver, he sees he only has five arrows left.
Five arrows left to escape the Garleans.
The Xaelan-- barely an adult by even the most generous standards-- draws an arrow and nocks it, listening for the footsteps of his pursuers. The forest is quiet, but he knows better than to trust in silence. Even noisy Garlean armor can be deceptive if the wearer is still enough. Taking a deep breath, he closes his eyes and focuses on any little shuffle his horns can pick up.
Chink.... scrape...
There. Maybe forty or fifty yalms back. Three of them, based on the neigh-silent shifting of autumn leaves. He's unsure, but he thinks only one had a firearm of any kind, and there shouldn't be any Magitek until closer to the border. He hears them begin to move towards his hiding place.
One arrow, three kills.

Note
Hey Altan why the facepaint
It's because it looks cool and intimidating and not remotely because I'm self-conscious about the scars its hiding.
