taken inspiration from Rozen Maiden (THE PEAKEST ANIME EVER)

and also i have no clue why this post is this long, im just rambling and yapping out of my head.

okay, so dolls.

billy and mary are the twin pair of dolls among the dolls siblings

they have exist for a while, like, in the 1800s perhaps, or earlier than 1500s because we got no clue when the dolls is actually made in the rozen maiden series 😔

they only given the name of William, later nicknamed to billy, and Mary stays as Mary, their father, the creator of the dolls, will be the wizard cuz he fits in that roll.

the other dolls is given the name of Frederick (later shorten to freddy), Darla, Pedro and Eugene.

they are dolls, but they are alive, because of one thing: father (/wizard). wanting to be the chosen one — a human; aka alice in rozen maiden; aka i have no idea the substitute name in this post.

CC and Marilyn are a couple, in 1940s, who happens to be archaeologists, found two strange letter in their two cases. and out of curiosity, they accepted the letter despite it being strange.

the letter stated: wind up or dont wind up

the couple thought it was weird and circled wind up.

immediately two wooden boxes appeared, they are big, like suitcases. so curious again, they opened it.

in the boxes, they found small humanoid things, dolls, and they look like twins pair of dolls. so Marilyn holds Mary, found the doll’s skin is very human-like. while CC found this wind up doll key and understood somewhat, that these dolls is a moveable dolls.

so he set the key, twirls it on billy and mary, the couple waited and slowly, the dolls move. but the movement is strange, it’s like a child learning how to walk but was more ‘dolly’ and ‘robotic’.

then the dolls opened their eyes on their own, getting use to the movement, becoming more ‘alive’. (WHICH THEY ARE, BECAUSE OF ROSA MYSTICA IN CANON ROZEN MAIDEN BEING THEIR SOUL)

the couple of course, shocked, wondering how the dolls works. and decided just to take the dolls as their ‘children’, aka take care of them. faking the dolls as their children because it’s insane to be seen with ‘alive dolls’. and the dolls passed as a literal 5 (or younger) years old.

the dolls introduced themselves as Billy and Mary, with the last name ‘Batson’. they are the third and fourth doll.

later, CC and Marilyn finds it strange that the dolls will disappear to somewhere in a while, like middle of the night-ish. so all on that adventurous spirit, they followed the dolls and found out there’s a mirror connecting to the other dolls’ worlds.

and they found mary and billy fighting another doll, Darla. In their powered up form that CC and Marilyn never know before, until this night of course.

Darla is definitely young, youngest of all when CC and Marilyn found out, she was made as the last doll, the ‘sixth’ doll. but they are not so much different because of the base build for dolls. but actions speaks louder amirite? Darla lost, expected to be killed by her rosa mystica taken away by either billy or mary.

billy and mary didnt want to, since living for 1 week (i guess?) with CC and Marilyn has made them somewhat better than they were before. less spoiled and less arrogant of a doll. but also how they missed the other siblings, they don’t want to lose the siblings because of these death battle and only one can remain. so they spared Darla, taken her in with CC’s and Marilyn’s permission.

sooner joined by Freddy, who has this talent for music typa doll, he is very weird though, but he is in fact the oldest one, aka the first finished doll to be made. then later on joined by pedro, who is probably the strongest of the dolls, the fifth doll, he suddenly appeared by flying with his case. crashed in, did a small fight and gone. but he do visit frequently with peace.

Then eugene, the smart one, the second doll, who didn’t really care much, currently just roaming around and sometimes do a small stay with CC and Marilyn with other dolls.

but, where’s the fun when Black Adam didn’t appeared? So black adam, the secret, imposter, seventh, but also is the ‘zero-th’ doll, appeared to claims all of the dolls rosa mystica to be the chosen one. be human.

he was the first doll to be made, but never finished, until someone else other than father (wizard) finished him and gave him the chance to be human. filled with rage, he took that chance and made a rampage, but he has to manipulate the situation first, using his powers to made it hard for the other dolls.

this is where the other villains from captain marvel appeared, sivana, mr mind, sabbac, ibac, etc etc. and it has going on for decades now, there has been multiple times where the dolls has to go back to their hibernation (box).

in which meanings, CC and Marilyn has died, either due to black adam, or just natural causes.

the time is now twenty-something (20??) the billy box is suddenly opened, no mary in sight, billy is confused. shazamed (using his doll power) and find mary. but in the way he helped a weird ass costumed team (soz), the Justice League.

JL was thankful for this strange man who appeared out of nowhere and helped them fought the enemy. asked him to join the team, billy was hesitant at first, because of his doll sister. but of course is a little afraid of black adam finding him and get him before he can even find mary.

but he accepted. and shenanigans issues.

also sivana and mortal enemy of captain marvel will appeared during this time rather than before JL thingy

just read the neverending story. that books got it all... cool dragons. girls with golden eyes. child-friendly esotericism. an evil sorceress with one red eye and one green eye like rozen maiden. i wish i could say something like "where was this book when i was a child" but shameful as it is to admit i do remember reading it as a young teen around the same time i read wizard and glass. it just made no impression on me at the time i guess

Reiko’s battle armour is... quite something. He loves pink and he loves cute stickers. No wonder he has disadvantage on stealth checks.

Rozen, a pyromaniacal half-demon wizard with a good set of horns, a *very* spooky eye and a hat that’s constantly threatening to fall off because it’s too damn large. That’s what Mage Hand is for.

Rounding out the R crew, Remy is also here. He seems vaguely happy so he’s probably thinking about mechs.

she? she’s suigintou from rozen maiden, it’s a pretty old anime so the artstyle looks v animecore, i’d suggest looking for anime from the late 2000s and cropping an icon.

 I used online image editor to add sparkles/blingees. After uploading an image, click “wizards” and “add glitters”.

I don’t know why but I feel like posting a list of all the D&D characters I’ve made in the order of their creation.  It’ll be under a read more so it doesn’t take up space on the dash.

1. Nymera Zeborys - Tiefling - Sorcerer (Wild Magic)/Rogue (Arcane Trickster)/unintentional Warlock (Great Old One) [campaign she’s in (BD&BA) is currently on indefinite hiatus]

2. Corine Laramie - Human - Rogue (Assassin)

3. Gaelin Ithilruid/Sythaerin Frey - Wood Elf - Ranger (Beast Master) [Kinda meant to be part of the same campaign as Nym as he’s the son of the main antagonist of the campaign. This one is also featuring as an NPC most likely.]

4. Ophidrith - White Dragonborn - Cleric (Tempest Domain) [Only got to play this character one and a half times before she met her end.  I was guest playing in Ethan’s friend’s campaign and because of a storm, my internet got knocked out for hours (I completely forgot my mifi jetpack then) and not to postpone the game, I agreed to allow Ophi to be NPC’d which ended in her death and ethantherenegade to be a bit salty with me for nearly killing his character Soren. XD  I was following the DM’s orders and unknowningly dodged a bullet thanks to the storm because if I myself did succeed in killing Soren, Ethan would’ve gotten revenge against me by making Nym suffer in his campaign. XD]  [I don’t even have her character sheet anymore, when Ophi died, I deleted her sheet.  But all I remember of her stats is that she was not very dexterous.]

20. Nymera ‘Shadow’ - Tiefling - Rogue (Thief)/Sorcerer (Shadow Sorcery) [This is Nymera’s rework.  Her alignment is either Lawful or Neutral Evil.  Her background and backstory can be worked into Criminal or Clasp (if she was played in a Tal’Dorei campaign).]

21. Spring - Water Genasi - Ranger (Horizon Walker) [Her background can literally be Ashari because as I was thinking of her backstory, where she came from is very similar to the Ashari, which was unintentional.]

22. Katarin - Human Variant - Rogue (Assassin) [based on Kathrine from Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake] Human noble which two older sisters, became queen but her husband removed her from her throne which she is trying to reclaim.

23. Vyldove Virnelis - Half Elf - Oathbreaker Paladin (Inspiration came from Liam O’Brian’s character Jayne Merriweather from the Bar Room Blitz one-shot.) Follower of the Chained Oblivion, masquerading as a paladin of the Knowing Mistress Ioun.  When asked about what deity she follows (she doesn’t outright show it) she’s very vague about it. [Meant for a Tal’Dorei setting]

24. Hunt - Tielfing - Rogue (Thief) [Her bloodline is connected to Mammon, she does not have the best health and loves to steal money and anything valuable.]

25. Valzir - Tiefling - Fighter [His bloodline is connected to Zariel] He is marked with an enchanted slave brand due to his devil father selling him into slavery for reasons unknown. He’s seeking a way to disenchant the brand to break his bond with his master and venture back to Avernus to confront his father.

26. [Insert name here] - (Inspiration came from Liam O’Brian’s character Caleb Widogast) A spellcaster whose father runs an academy that specially trains casters from noble and royal families. Despite her social status, she attended the academy at her father’s behest, hated the entire experience and dropped out without his permission. Then along the way due to a strange string of events, she got age reversed to that of a child, but her mind remained in tact. (Class or race have yet to be determined)

27: Nymera Zeborys - Tiefling - Sorcerer (Wild Magic). [Vastrun rework and her bloodline is to Fierna] In this rework Nymera had a happier life because her father was successful with taking Nym away from Ali then unintentionally joined up with the circus that Alisandra’s family owns. Nym has no connections to the Flock in this incarnation.

28. Esaveil Faeyra - Half-Elf - Fighter. Esaveil is a bodyguard under the employment of the Floating Towers of Arcanix to protect students studying magic even though in the world, magic is being snuffed out by science and technology. Her charge got teleported to an unknown location because they botched a spell and now she’s on a quest to find them and get them back to the academy. [Currently in Jamy’s Champions of Eberron campaign]

29. [Insert name here] - Shadar-kai - Been ‘resurrected’ by the Raven Queen many times to continue her service meaning her true age surpasses most elves while her physical age appears young. She’s on the mortal plane to visit the Queen’s temples to ensure they still stand and prevent any mortals or beings from attempting to usurp the Raven Queen’s position.

30. Cantarella - Eladrin - Wizard (Necromancy). Daughter of the head of the Winter Court, denizen of the Feywild. At first glance she appears to like anything and all things cute, which is true, but she also loves all things undead. For several years of her life she remained a Winter Eladrin until she changed to Spring and loved how she felt.

Note: Sixth part. And this one took me almost half of the day to complete for some reasons… I actually kept on pausing cause I needed a breather from laughing or gushing… So yeah.

“Harli has officially joined the betting pool,” Mon informed as she sat next to Aila who is happily munching on her breakfast.

“So I’ve heard,” she said, swallowing her food. “Should we wait on Roger before we close our bet or not?”

They both turned to the guy beside Aila to hear the response from him.

“Your choice,” Roger waved dismissively, as he occupied himself with the food served on the Slytherin table. “But I would really like to see it happening before my very eyes before I indulge myself in a game of sacrifice. The usual wage, right?”

Both girls nodded at him as they looked over the Gryffindor table only to see their friend cramming for what they assume his Potions essay.

“I find it hard that someone as cynical as Elijah had managed to find someone.” Roger mumbled.

“It’s not that Elijah found someone…” Mon’s voice trailed off watching as Elijah multitasked, balancing his food and writing his essay at the same time.

“More of someone found Elijah.” Aila finished, directing her gaze over the Ravenclaw table where Cindy is animatedly chatting with her housemate. “And who knows, that boy might actually like the girl back. He just needs a reason for such.”

“Today, we are going to brew Amortentia,” Professor Slughorn announced, causing the girls in both Slytherin and Gryffindor- sans Aila and Mon- squeal in delight.

Elijah turned to Mon who is sitting next to him. “What’s Amortentia?” he whispered.

Unfortunately for him, Professor Slughorn heard his question as well. “Excellent question, Mr. Queen. Anyone who can tell me the properties of Amortentia and what is its effects?” he searched the room. “Miss Leighton?”

Aila glared at Elijah for asking the question. She hated reciting in class even though she knew the answers. “Amortentia is a love potion. It emits the smell of the person the brewer is attracted to. Their favorite scent in the whole world, perhaps but there is a third scent, the scent of their beloved.”

Professor Slughorn beamed. “Correct. Five points to Slytherin. Anything to add, Mr. Rozen?”

“Although it creates attraction, it can never replicate the emotion called love.” Roger answered to which earned his house another five points.

Professor Slughorn then proceeded with discussing its other properties, giving instructions to students as they paired up to brew an advanced potion.

“I hate Amortentia,” Elijah announced he moment after he and Mon had submitted their vial of Amortentia. “I don’t even understand why wizards and witches make them.”

“Well for one thing, it creates attraction.” Roger, the ever logical one tried to explain. “But don’t worry. It’s illegal to brew it without permission.”

“But if a wizard and witch were ugly and what they wanted are a bit out of their… grasp, they are just so desperate to make people notice them.” Mon said to which gave him goosebumps.

“Is this thing normal?” The muggleborn asked the trio to which they responded with affirmative responses, stopping him on his tracks. “But I thought it doesn’t create love?”

Aila patted his back. “It doesn’t. It creates love’s cousin, also known as lust. So if you were able to do well on potions and if you ever had an urge to use a love potion, you’d be able to seduce a person just by letting them drink it. Good thing Slughorn asked us to smell it instead of drinking it, huh?”

Roger turned to her with an amused expression. “Oh the wonders of being a potions master, huh?”

Aila’s statement perked up Mon’s curiosity. “What scent did you smell then, Aila?” she asked. “The third scent since we all know just what your favorite scent is.” 

“Hmm… peppermint and chocolates,” Aila hummed. “Roger?”

“Lavender,” Roger then turned to Mon with the same question in his eyes.

“Vanilla, and don’t you dare tease me.”

They all turned to Elijah expectantly only to be greeted by his frowning expression.

“Elijah?” Mon nudged him, trying to revert his attention to them but Elijah was adamant in following the scent he is smelling. And so he took off, leaving his confused friends on his wake.

He needed to find the scent, that one particular scene that he had acquired from what these people say a love potion.

The scent of roses and parchments.

He turned through nick and alley of the dungeons (never mind its creepiness) just to bump onto another student.

“Hey watch where you’re- Elijah?”

He snapped out of his sense and looked only to see the creeper looking at him curiously. He was about to flip him off, resume whatever he got himself work out at when a particular faint aroma of roses invaded his senses.

“What… what are you doing here?” he had to be possessed by some unknown creature. How else would he act civil around her? Normally, he would turn the other way and avoid her at any cost and yet here he was, conversing with her as if she is another friend of his. (But they weren’t really friends now, were they?)

“Oh, uh… Professor Slughorn wanted me to-” she paused as he leaned over her neck (Really, what creature did possess him?) and proceeded on smelling her faint perfume. “What in the name of Merlin’s beard are you doing?” she asked, slightly creeped out (Is this how he felt when she’s with him?) and slightly confused as to how Elijah is acting around her.

Just before he could stop and comprehend what he is doing, he found himself leaving trails of kisses, stopping on the crook f her neck, slightly sucking it, eliciting a small moan from Cindy. (Making him realize that this is in fact, her sweet spot.)

He could barely hear a squeak and a gasp somewhere but he paid it no mind. He found himself going crazy with the smell and he had to so something about it.

“Uhm…” Cindy was flabbergasted. After all, she is the one to initiate kisses, the one who giving kisses to Elijah, leaving him breathless and yearning for more (that last bit, she knew wouldn’t be true but a girl’s gotta dream, ey?) she’s the one to do all those things and not the other way around. What had happened to him? Perhaps… but that is absurd right? “W-why?”

Elijah sighed as he pulled back, ruffling his hair in frustration. “You uh… you smell of flowers and parchments.” He said vaguely.

Just before Cindy could respond to that (what would she even respond to that weird statement?) a small clearing of throat was heard and the couple turned around to see the trio of Slytherins looking abashed at them.

Elijah’s eyes immediately widened. He had never realized that those three will take off after he had ditched them. He had almost forgotten that those three were smart enough to follow him around.

Cindy offered them a small smile (clearly not helping him in this situation. Then again, this was his mess to begin with) “Hey guys,” she greeted as if the event that had transpired earlier never happened.

Aila snapped out of her embarrassed state (no matter how cunning and sly she is, she couldn’t shake the fact that she’s the most innocent in the group and an intimate display of affection still bothers her) “Professor Slughorn is in the Slytherin dorms, talking to the prefect. You’d find him there, just knock loudly and he’ll open up for you.” She cleared her throat.

“Oh gosh, thanks!” the Ravenclaw said exuberantly. “I thought I’d get lost in the dungeons again. I don’t know how you guys can stand the creepiness down here.” She said to which earned chuckles from Mon (who’s clearly the one who wasn’t affected by the display of affection)

“Well, I have to go now. See ya guys.” She nodded to the trio while giving Elijah a wink.

The Slytherins waited for her to be out of sight before simultaneously looking at Elijah with judgments and questions written in their eyes.

Elijah groaned as he threw his head back. “I don’t wanna talk about it.” He growled as he walked towards the direction where Cindy took.

Roger shared a look with the two girls before shouting, “Wrong direction!”

Elijah groaned louder as he stomped his way passed them. “I know that!” and left them alone, giving them the freedom to contemplate what had happened.

Silence engulfed the three before Mon and Aila turned to Roger with triumphant smiles on their faces.

“Gonna wage now, brother?” Mon asked to which Roger responded by taking out his wand.

“Just so you two know, I’m gonna win this bet.” He said, slyly.

Highlights of 2017

1. Travel

Big trips, small trips & weekenders - there was a lot of travel in 2017!

The 1st major trip of the year was Jan/Feb to the UK, Norway, USA & Puerto Rico.

Top: London, Cambridge & Bergen

Bottom: Oslo, New York & San Juan

The second big trip was in October to all the ‘hot spots’... Japan, South Korea & Russia.

Top: Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima, & Ōkunoshima (Rabbit Island)

Bottom: Kyoto, Busan, Seoul & Vladivostok

And a little closer to home... 4 days in Adelaide, a trip to Auckland in June, 2 Brisbane weekenders, 5 Melbourne weekends & just about every other weekend in between was spent in Sydney. The last trip of the year will be 6 days in Tassie.

2. Musicals

The list of musicals I saw this year is very long, so if you want to skip to the end I’ve added 5 favorite productions in a bit more detail.

London: Lazarus & Rent

New York: The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart, Dear Evan Hansen, In Transit, Waitress, The Great Comet & Sunset Boulevard

Brisbane: American Idiot & The Wizard of Oz

Melbourne: The Book of Mormon & Spring Awakening

Sydney: Nosferatutu, Cabaret, Calamity Jane, Big Fish, Only Heaven Knows, Mame, Between Worlds, Miss Saigon, Camelot, Melba, City of Angels, Assassins, Beautiful, Spring Awakening, Muriel's Wedding & High Fidelity

Favourites:

Dear Evan Hansen at the Music Box Theatre in January - this was an amazing musical that went on to win 6 Tony awards including Best Musical.

Sunset Boulevard at the Palace Theatre in February - Glenn Close reprised her role as Norma Desmond & even came to the stage door to sign Playbills.

The Book of Mormon at the Princess Theatre in May - I had seen the original Broadway cast in New York back in 2012 & was pleasantly surprised that the Melbourne cast were almost as good as the Broadway Cast.

Assassins at the Hayes Theatre in September - I enjoy a good Sondheim musical but this was one of the few I hadn’t seen before. I loved it!

Muriel's Wedding at The Roslyn Packer Theatre - after a few semi decent attempts (e.g. Priscilla), we finally have a great Australian musical. I hope this production goes all the way to Broadway! I enjoyed it so much I am going back to see it again!

3. Conventions

This was my second year attending BroadwayCon in New York - after I survived the inaugural BroadwayCon during the record breaking blizzard in 2016 (in terms of snowfall this was the biggest blizzard since the records began back in the 1800′s). That convention was later referred to as ‘BlizzardCon’; 2017 in comparison was a tamer affair in regards to the weather that is. The con itself was bigger & in some ways better this year, but not as intimate - some of the highlights being the Dear Evan Hansen panel & performances by Lakes & Loose Cattle.

The rest of the convention year went like this:

Melbourne ThronesCon (a Game of Thrones convention) in May - group photo with Dominic Carter, Miltos Yerolemou & Ian Beatie.

Sydney Supanova in June - photos with Teri Hatcher & Dean Cain (Lois & Clark), Colin Donnell (Arrow), Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead) & Chris Hemsworth (Thor).

4. Concerts

Just a few concerts this year, but they were all pretty amazing! Sierra Boggess, Clare Bowen, Elton John & Midnight Oil.

5. Theatre

You can probably tell from the plays I attended this year that I like my Shakespeare. I especially enjoyed the Pop Up Globe in Melbourne where I saw Henry V & As You Like It. I enjoyed it so much that next month I’m heading back down to Melbourne to see the other plays in the rotation - Othello & Much Ado About Nothing.

So those were the highlights of 2017 - but I also attended the symphony, went to the ballet in Sydney & London, the opera in Sydney & New York, took in some art exhibitions & even went to a couple of soccer matches.

There’s already a lot in store for 2018 (and even the remaining days of 2017 - boxing day harbour cruise & Tassie trip), and one of the things I’m most looking forward to is my next trip! Once again off to New York for some shows with 2 operas, 4 plays & 6 musicals already booked & a few time slots left to fill. Also on this trip I will finally be setting foot on the South American continent when I head down to Quito, Ecuador!

Alternatively, what is their favorite quote?‘What doesn’t kill makes you stronger.’ kinda fitting after she lost her left eye due to a wild magic surge.5. Are there any story arcs you would like this character to explore?Probably her figuring out how to sustain her family’s alliance with the other noble house when she hears her brother isn’t in the position to do it himself.  That’s the only thing I can think of.8. Is there anyone in love with your character?I don’t believe Myrena is in love with anyone at the moment, but there’s a chance that there’s at least one or two people who are taken with her.21.
