I have yet to see a yandere x reader dynamic where things are very skewed in the reader's favor. Like, let's say we have a reader who is significantly more powerful than whatever character is obsessing over them (like, they could be immortal or maybe an Adeptus), I think it would be very interesting

If the yandere in question is Diluc, I'd be curious to see how it turns out, because a lot of people write yandere Diluc as overprotective, but in this case, Diluc himself would sooner be in need of protection than the reader

This is a really good idea! I don't really see anything like this often, and I'd like to try branching out and working with new dynamics.

Yan!Diluc is going to have to come to terms with the fact that he's no longer the strong savior here, which is going to be difficult. It might throw him back to when his father died and he could do nothing. If Diluc brings it up to the reader, the reader might laugh and ask him what he thinks he could possibly do. They didn't mean for it to be an insult, but to Diluc, it is. This is a big blow to Diluc's pride and ambition.

Diluc's going to start training obsessively and spending less and less time with the reader, who's one of the adepti. The reader, being yandere, does not like this development, and thus spends less time with Diluc or even forbids him from leaving the house. Their relationship starts to fall apart. Each is trying to protect each other, but they don't listen to each other.

Now, there are two paths. Either Diluc and the reader end their relationship, or they find a middle ground. To me, that middle ground could be sex. This isn't just because I write smut. Diluc gets to be on top, and he gets to see the reader in a way that nobody else does. They can also try BDSM, but Diluc will usually want to be on top.

The reader doesn't mind; they rarely ever get to enjoy the freedom of being able to let go while knowing that you're safe. And they enjoy it, of course. So that's how that works out.
