Presenting: The AU I accidentally created OOPSIE!! 😬😬😬
And yes, I know, it's another Seperation AU, and yes YES, I KNOW, they're a bit overdone at this point, bUT LISTEN!! That's precisely how I ended up in this situation!!!
So there's a lot of Seperation AUs exploring a lot of different scenarios with the turtles being raised, well, seperately. I've seen quite a few of them at this point, and despite whatever the combination is when it comes to turtle + parental figure, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed a pattern of specifically Donnie often being raised by a villain. Which makes sense, he has a tendency to put on this evil-mad-scientist-act in the show, so of course a lot of us want to see what Donnie would actually be like as a proper antagonist. But that just made me think think of the opposite possibility, of Donnie being the singular good guy while his brothers are all bad guys. Mind you, I'm sure SOMEONE must've thought of this concept before me, but I haven't seen it! So here we are!
In this AU (which doesn't have a name so don't ask!) Splinter only managed to yoink Donnie during The Incident™, so he ended up an only child, while Raph, Leo and Mikey were raised by Draxum. I also imagine Draxum being at least a decent dad considering the circumstances, so the kids he raised ended up with pretty similar personalities to what they have in canon.
Because of that we get Hero Donnie who acts all villainous cuz he's a total theaterkid, and Villain Raph, Leo and Mikey who act all heroic cuz they honestly believe they're doing the right thing in literally destroying all of humankind and as a result developed an intense case of main character syndrome.
Anyway here's some references-
I don't know how far I'll explore this AU. I fully intended to just make like one or two posts rambling about the basic concept, but when I was drawing these images my brain went into full Brain Blast mode and I started coming up with a bunch of other ideas so uh... we'll see how this turns out later I guess haha

Sister Turtle AU
This is the first time I am posting to Tumbler (and AO3 under RStar106734) and this is a project I have been working on for a while. However, school is busy and I have no clue how often I will be able to update it or respond to any comments or asks. Don't let that stop you though! Leave a comment or send an ask and I will try to respond when I am able. For now, here is the prologue to my story. Enjoy!
______________________________________________________________
People often describe their first memories as blurry figments of general sensations and assumptions based on stories that their parents tell them. They may be able to give a few details about moments that truly stuck with them, but even these memories are tinged with a nostalgic blur. That is not the case for me. My first memory is as clear as any memory could be and it can only be described as pure chaos.
The smell of smoke is the very first thing that I can remember. It burned far hotter than any of the flames that reached its hungry fingers toward my face. After that, the feeling of something soft surrounded me, drying the tears that slipped from my eyes and pinning me against some shiny fabric. Whatever it was, it was constantly moving. There was an almost constant bounce that was occasionally interrupted by hard jolts that threw me into something hard. After one particularly hard bump, the hard thing started to squirm against my shell. I started to move as well, trying to turn around and see the thing, but I could only catch a glimpse of something green and orange before there was another jolt.
I gave a little chirp, with four similar chirps repeating the sound behind my shell and a soft laugh from somewhere above my head. I tilted my head up to find what gave that non-bale sound, but I was entranced by something else. The area above our heads glittered with glittering stones. They were glowing, draping the surrounding area in a faint pink hue. They looked exceedingly similar to what I’ve been told surface stars look like at night, but I would argue that the gems are better. They change colors to match the sunlight above, with the pink fading to purple in my memory. I probably would have stared at those gems forever if… things hadn’t happened the way they did.
To be entirely honest, I’m not entirely sure what happened. I was staring at the gems one second, and the next, there was an extremely hard jolt that threw me away from the soft thing around me. I went flying right over it with nothing more than a startled chirp.
At that moment, it felt like time stopped. I could see the ground coming closer. I could hear panicking creatures screaming. The chirps of my bale mates echoed around me, but they went unanswered. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t make a sound. I could barely even breathe. I could only watch the ground approaching me. I knew that I had to move. I didn’t know what would happen if I didn’t, but something deep down told me that I had to do something. I knew that I was watching death approach but I could not force myself to do anything. The only thing I could feel was a paralyzing fear that still haunts my nightmares. I honestly believe that the only reason I can tell this story is because my instincts kicked in at the last moment. I tucked into my shell for a brief moment before I hit the ground.
The top of my plastron hit the ground before anything else and I was blinded by sudden pain. If I thought the smoke burned my nose, then this felt like someone was dipping my entire chest into lava. I think someone screamed at that point. There might have been multiple screams, but the ringing in my ears drowned them out. Nothing existed except for the agony that was spreading through my body and grew with every inch I slid away from my bale and the cries that managed to break through the fog.
Eventually, everything stilled for a moment. Nothing moved, nothing could be heard, and every sense was mildly dulled with the shell around me and the pain that now infected my entire body. I was finally able to take a breath. It still smelled like smoke with the new addition of fresh blood, but that breath felt like nothing had before. That one breath led to the next, which was followed by even more. My chest slowly moved with each inhale and the sound of air whooshing through my nose drowned out the continued ringing and my pounding heart. Each breath came slower and softer than the last. There was a pause when something blocked the front of my shell with a world-shaking thud, but the darkness only helped to drown out everything but my breathing and heartbeat. I don’t know how long I focused on my breathing behind my walls, but I think I eventually drifted off.
Father eventually found me. He picked me up with delicate movements that barely woke me, but I just gave him a quiet chirp and drifted off again. Things got a little blurry after that. Father tells me that it was because I got ill from stress and infection. He swears that he did everything to protect me and my brothers. He swears that he looked for the others, but there was no sign that they survived. I was the only warrior he had left and he would do everything he could to make sure I would have the chance my siblings ever could. He would raise me to be a protector of the weak, a warrior for the people, and the guardian that I needed during that chaos.
I will achieve his dreams for me. He wants the best for everyone, and if I need to make some sacrifices to make that happen… Who cares about the weapon that a hero uses to save the land?

______________________________________________________________
Thirteen Years Later
July 20, 2018
“Message for Lady Gomah! Message for Lady Jasmine Gomah!” Everyone in the room winced at the page’s unneeded volume as he scurred to the teacher standing by the door. “Urgent message for Lady Gomah!”
“Yes, thank you Scooter,” Mrs. Clariese said with barely held annoyance. The gopher beamed in pride at the praise, completely missing the muttered grumbles from the woman before him. “She is at the back of the room..” However, he didn’t miss the comments other girls made behind his back.
“And she knows you’re coming. Everyone knew you were coming.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Big Mamma heard you in her lofty penthouse with how loud you were.”
“Ladies!” Mrs. Clairese swiftly stood from her chair as she yelled at the two girls, causing a squeak that left everyone covering their ears for a second. “Outside with me, now.” The two girls put down their embroidery and slowly walked behind their teacher.
Everyone else was quiet for a moment before the usual sewing conversations picked up at a slightly higher volume. Scooter still stood at the door, shut in with a class of girls and absolutely confused about where to go. The poor boy kept looking around the room, bouncing up and down like a kangaroo just to try and find me. His face was furrowed and he said it was urgent, so I packed up my work and walked up to him. He was so focused on his search, he didn’t even notice me until I tapped his shoulder.
“GAAHH!!” Scooter jumped over the teacher’s desk in his shock, knocking everything onto the floor with a clatter. It was silent for a few seconds, worrying me and a couple girls enough to start moving around the desk to check on him, before he popped his head back up with a dumb grin reaching ear to ear. “Gosh Lady Gomah! You sure are quiet. Scared me right out of my socks.” He then got up, brushed himself off, and pulled out an oddly pristine letter from the satchel at his side. “I have an urgent message from Big Mamma for you Lady Gomah!” I nodded my head and took the paper, avoiding his hand as much as possible. The gopher gave a respectful bow and scurried off to his next assignment. “Message for Mr. Kermit” was heard fading into the background as a group of girls abandoned their chairs to circle me.
“OOHH, What’s it say?”
“She just got it, give her a second to read.” “I bet she has a suitor waiting for her. She’s pretty enough to be a model after all.”
“Sarah… She is a model. Her face was on the front page of Hidden City Monthly last week, remember?”
“Yeah, you even made her sign your copy when you saw her on the first day!”
“A signature that will forever hang on my wall.”
“Ladies, why are we out of our seats and crowding around Ms. F.. Jasmine?” The four girls around me vanished in a second, suddenly reappearing in their chairs and working on their patterns like they had never moved an inch. The teacher gave a soft smile and turned to focus on me. “Let me know if there is anything that will affect your attendance. I would like to know if I will have a teaching assistant or not for next week’s plans.” I gave her a nod and she started to walk around the room, pausing every once in a while to work with one of the students around us. I watched her for a moment before unfolding the paper.
“My darlingest daughter,
It seems as though your daddykins has accomplished something splendiferous and is requesting your attendance for his grand ‘final’ test. He thinks that this grand success will lead to ‘the creation of his army against humanity’ and has also asked to keep you for an extended amount of time. I couldn’t dream of losing my babyboo, but he managed to force my hand with some of his specacturlific devices and beasties. Meet me in the penthouse for more instructions and a send off perfect for the Nexis Princess.
Smooches,
Big Mamma”
Hm… This is new… No matter, there must be a reason and who am I to question Mamma. I place the note back in my bag and wave to Mrs. Clariese. She sees my motion and gives a wave in acknowledgement before focusing back on the girl in front of her.
“You are right Aqua,” she quietly whispered to the fish girl before her. “It does look a little bunched up. I think you have been rushing a little bit which pulls on your stitches and makes them too close to each other. Try slowing down a little bit and watching the amount of pressure you are putting on the thread when you pull away.” The little fish girl nodded, her bright red hair flying in her face, and got back to work on her… were those spears... surrounding a red heart? An interesting idea that looked pretty good on paper, even if the execution left a bit to be desired. Mrs. Clariese stood with a crack and focused on me. “What do you need hun?”
“Being called away. Time unknown.” My voice was barely a whisper, but the feline teacher was used to that and could understand my words perfectly.
“Well, that’s a first. Thanks for telling me. I’ll summon your bodyguard and send you on your way. Be safe, okay?” I give her a bow and leave the room.
I’m not even alone for a second before a white figure drifted to my side, his long ears drooping onto my head. He knows I hate that and if we were not in public right now, I would smack the darn things off. However, we are in public and I can not disgrace my parents with such a display of childness. I did give him a very brisk and discrete elbow in the side as I walked past and the barely audible oof behind me was worth it.
As we walked down the crowded halls, the staff bowed and the guests gave a respectful nod. A few with less decorum whispered to each other like twitterpated teens. I tried my best to ignore their words, but a few comments snuck through my walls like they always do.
“Yeah she’s pretty, but I don’t get all of the hype. She isn’t even a proper Kappa.”
“The dear princess dares to lower herself and walk amongst the peasants. What an honor.”
“I heard she was a test tube baby. An insane creation of Draxum.”
“Shush! He probably enhanced her if that’s the case and I don’t want to get in trouble with Big Mamma for you opening your idiotic mouth.”
Words that I hear any time people see me. There is a reason I hate leaving my suite. My bodyguard, who has better ears than I do, leaned over and whispered to me. “Do you want to detour to the staff area?” I shook my head and he straightened up again, slyly pressing a button on his uniform to make sure security had eyes on me. Just a precaution, but one I wish wasn’t needed.
We eventually reached the elevator to Mamma’s office and I had a few seconds to actually relax. I slouched against the mirrored wall and just breathed. My friend slumped next to me a second later and let me lean against him.
“You okay Niya?” “I don’t know Usa. Father has never summoned me before. He’s only ever visited the hotel and that has been for training and testing.”
“Isn’t this a good thing? You always say you miss Draxum when he isn’t here.”
“I do! But… what if he did succeed? I’m ready to fight if he orders me to, but… Are we ready for war?”
“It might not be a war.” I gave him a look and he could only shrug. “You never know! People might change and just decide to stay up there, living their same old life with a new look.”
“As if. Humans will never accept anything that looks slightly different from themselves, even other humans! One person can have slightly darker skin or smaller eyes and they are suddenly suspicious. Why would they ever accept a yokai if they can’t even be peaceful with themselves?” Usagi just went silent and the only sound was the soft clicks of the elevator.
“Maybe they just need an example?”
“Well, they would need to find someone else. I have no reason or want to leave the Hidden City.”
“Liar.” I would have gotten on the smug lagomorph, but the elevator stopped before I could say anything and we both rushed to our proper positions; the princess and the guard.
“Jazziedoodle!” Uggg, that nickname. “My little snugglywoogel. I see Scooter got that message to you!”
“Yes Mamma. He is one of your best gophers.”
“Of course! I only employ the best after all!” Big Mamma slid her way past her ornate desk, her human form making the move look smooth as butter. “Before you visit your daddykins, there were a few things I wanted to discuss…in private.”
Usagi caught the implied instruction and gave a bow. “I will begin packing some of your belongings for the trip Mrs. Jasmine. Summon me if I am needed.” He gave another bow and walked back to the elevator, never turning his back to his superiors as he had been trained years ago.
“Make sure our little kittle stays out of the bags. We don’t want Draxie to have any extra test subjects after all.” The elevator doors slid shut at that final comment and we were alone. After a second, she focused on me and her smile slipped off her lips.
“Fi…” Mamma started to lift her hand, poised to hold my chin like she did when I was young, but pulled back before she made contact. She gave a soft sigh and pushed herself into a soft smile. “Keep me informed of what happens. If the experiment works, I want to know. If nothing happens, tell me. And if anything happens that makes you uncomfortable or you want to leave, send me a message and you will be back home in a second of a second. You have my crystal signal, my cell phone number, both for Usagi as well, and the hotel number memorized. Don’t be afraid to use any of them if you need to.”
“Of course Mamma. I will see you once Father is finished with the tests and observation if it works as he plans. Is there anything else?”
“No my dear. Go help Usagi protect your bags from Aurora’s splinderifious claws and I will meet you at the portal site.” I gave mamma a bow and turned to leave, but I could feel her sorrow and disappointment behind me. I couldn’t leave it like that so I sped back to her and wrapped her in the tightest hug I could give without breaking her guise. It only lasted a few seconds before the touch started to bug me and I left her to reunite with Usagi. Hopefully, the experiment would be the same as all the others and I would come home before the month was over.

Chapter 3: Two Captives and a Walk
Start
Chapter 2
“Fi, you are right on time as always. Go put your things in your room and get changed into your uniform. It is time to conquer the human race once and for all.” Cue the cliche maniacal laughter. Father may have the best intentions at heart, but I swear, he is the most theater kid person I know. I bow to hide the slight smile that slipped onto my lips and calmly walked away.
My room was down a side hallway, through a door that would be impossible to see if you didn’t know where it was. Father once said it was perfect for the spy I was made to be. Just like everything else in the training wing. Even my bedroom was… utilitarian in design. It had a simple sturdy bed, a matching bedside table, a plain black bookshelf with various strategy, survival, and combat books, a punching bag in a corner, and a dresser filled with black body suits and dark blue gi uniforms. The only thing that wasn’t military standard was the cherry blossom blanket the goyals got me years ago. I touched the fluffy fabric before focusing on my orders.
It only took a few minutes for me to change and I quietly walked back to the main room, tucking my face mask into the belt. By the time I arrived, father had lost his excited ‘cartoon villain’ mood and had shifted to a darker and more serious temper. He is muttering to himself but his voice is too low and muffled for me to hear a single word.
“Father?” He barely gave me a glance as he continued to pace with a clip clop at every step. I remain silent and slip on the mask, covering everything except my eyes. Something was about to happen and he was probably going to instruct me to do so anyway. He eventually paused long enough to pull out his communication crystal and continued his stride as a voice drifted through the gem.
“The trail has gone cold in the Hidden City. We’ll return to the last known location of the agent and continue our search at the nearest surface portal.” “Be quick. I have plans for the vile the agent stole and I need it back before the crystals go dark.”
“Understood.” He is interrupted by the sound of dogs barking and the shout of a second figure in the background. “The dogs have caught a scent. We’ll call when we have the agent in hand.” The crystal goes dark and swiftly vanishes into father’s pocket.
Everything went still for a moment before father’s hands slammed on the counsel in front of him. “Blast the Titan’s tit’s!” He gives a sigh and bows his head. “Why does this have to happen on the eve of my success? AGAIN!” The last word was accompanied by him throwing his hand in the air and returning to his pacing. “At least I got lucky with competent henchmen.”
“Of course boss! Your ideas are always amazing,” Huggin cheered from father’s shoulder.
“Yeah. This is just a minor hiccup. No problem that you can’t overcome.” Muggin added his encouragement from the other side.
The goyals have always been father’s greatest (and most vocal) cheerleaders. I don’t think I have ever heard them say a bad word about the man and every word is said with absolute honesty. It would honestly be impressive if I hadn’t heard it practically every day for nine years.
I suppose you’re right.” He takes a breath and turns to the room’s central column. “The hard part is already done. All I need is that vial.” He goes silent once again and focuses on the bugs trapped behind the glass. “They should have it soon but how…” His eyes drifted towards me and a smile crept to his lips. “That could work,” he whispered for a moment before he fully turned to me. “Fi, I have a mission for you. You heard that call, correct?”
“Yes sir.”
“Good. I want you to go to the gate and escort the mercenaries when they arrive. I want the agent and the vial he stole from me. You need to make sure they both do.”
“Understood father.” I paused for a moment before fading into the shadows and slinking towards the exit. It wasn’t needed, father would know where I was if he looked, but he always smiled when he saw my stealth skills so I might as well get some practice whenever I can.
The path to our portal gateway is a simple stone walkway raised high above a molten sea of magma. Some people call it the ‘Devil’s Backbone’ like it is something dangerous, but nothing has happened to give it such a silly name. Well… it hasn’t as long as I’ve been around at least. It didn’t matter anyway. I just needed to keep my eyes on the stone under my feet and focus on getting to the gate. If I take my eyes off my feet, I will either focus on the lava fish gliding in the melted stone below or they will drift to the glittering Helios Mutatio stones glittering above. Father always told me that they were ‘inefficient and insulting imitations of the dazzling glorious sun the surface dwellers take for granted.’ I don’t know if that is true. I have never really seen the sun myself, but I always thought they were pretty. They give off a calming aura whenever I get the rare chance to see them.
All of the sudden, I am suddenly wrenched from my thoughts as my foot collides with one of the decorative stones around the gate. I didn’t even notice that my eyes were on the ceiling rather than the path. The gems are breath-taking but now is not the time to lose focus. Father needs the vile to reach his goals and he has trusted me with the job of delivering it. He expects success and I refuse to fail him. That thought barely drifted past my mind when right as the stone I kicked burst into a wall of swirling blue magic. They have arrived.
Within a second, two large men walked out of the portal with two equally intimidating Black Shuck Dogs at their heels. They were much taller than I was and their black armor bore spikes at every joint. Their movements were near identical as they walked, the only differences being their eye color and what they carried with them.
Garm, the one with pinkish red eyes, focused on me the moment the portal finally shut. He gave me a little smile and said “Hey little one! Miss us?” with a chuckle. I barely restrained a laugh as he tossed a pink confinement ball to himself and nodded at his question. Neither mother or father have needed them in months, so I haven’t seen them in a while. Freki, the one with green eyes, looked over at our conversation, but something on his other side pulled him away as he whispered to it… or them in frustration. It was nice to see them again, but as much as I would have enjoyed a brisk conversation, we all needed to focus on the business at hand.
I was getting ready to speak, trying to figure out the best way to bring up the topic when Freki’s communication gem began to ring. He shook the thing he was holding and whispered a threat to silence it before he picked up. “Freki here.”
“What is taking so long?” Father’s voice was getting increasingly frustrated, but there was a hint of worry hidden behind the anger. It always is when I am away from him or mother for longer than he likes.
“We have successfully passed through the gate and have the agent in hand.”
“Any troubles we would know about?” We…? This was his plan, but I’m glad that he thought highly enough of me to include me. Well… assuming he wasn’t using the royal we.
“Eh, nothing past the usual tracking troubles in a city,” Garm butted in as he leaned on my shoulder. I paused for a moment before leaving him there. I can shake him off when he gets annoying. “Aside from these kids that thought they could be heroes.”
“What?! Explain, now.” OH! Father’s voice has turned into a growl. If a satisfactory answer doesn’t come now, it would be better for them to give me the captives and forget the paycheck.
Freki gave Garm an elbow to the stomach before focusing on father. “When we cornered the agent in an abandoned construction area, a group of five teenagers blocked our way. One human and four kapa yokai. I believe they were surface raised as they did not know who or what we were. One human also fell into the portal before it closed. We have him in custody as well but weren’t sure what you wanted us to do with him.”
A rather ugly face popped out from behind Freki. “Custody? Man, did I get snatched by the porkers? I didn’t do nothing man! Just ask my boss.” His blazing red anger shifted into cooled fear. “Damn it, man. The big cheese is gonna be pissed at another late delivery.” He then looked around before turning back to Freki. “Do you got a phone I can use man… uh, I mean sir? I might still have a job if he knows I got got by the cops.” Freki looked at the human with an ice cold expression and pulled him back to his other side.
“Hm.” Father was silent for a moment before his lips pulled into a faint grin. “Bring him here. I have a place for him while we discuss what comes next.” The return of the theater kid. Seriously, could he phrase that in a scarier way?
“Yes sir.”
“And keep that thing as far away from… my apprentice. They are there to escort, not to entertain.”
“Of course sir. We should arrive within fifteen minutes.” “I will have cells prepared for your arrival.” At that, father disconnected the call and there was silence for a moment.
“That’s a cool phone dude. Where did you get it? Verizon?” This is a very chatty specimen. Father will not appreciate that. He will either become an immediate test or father will do something to keep the lab quiet. The guy will probably end up in a soundproof cell if he keeps going like this.
“Silence. Captain Draxum will deal with you once we arrive.”
“Oh, he the chief or something? Cool, man. Cool. So, if you guys are cops, then who are they?” The human pointed at me and Garm moved to block me from the human’s sight. Thank Titan.
“They are not your concern. Stay silent and walk. If I hear anything else from you, you won’t remember the rest of the trip.” The human shut up at that point and the rest of us walked with a little more ease.
Grem, presumably thinking that I needed a distraction, walked up and passed over the orb he had been holding since they arrived. “Take a look at him. Bugger was a tough one, but we got em’ in the end.” He tossed the sphere to me and gave a chuckle. “Not even the best agent the council has can stay out of our hands, huh?” I gave a soft huff at his actions before focusing on the ball he threw at me.
There was a small feline yokai skittering around within. It looked about the size of a house cat with overly large ears, but the translucent pink orb obscured the fur color and it was moving too fast for me to determine any specific details aside from the fact that it wore a glowing green vial around its neck. That must be the vial father wanted. It… was that empyrean??!! What is father doing with that? It… Whatever father is doing, it has to be for yokai good. It always is. I sucked a breath into my frozen lungs and handed the orb back to Grem as carefully as I could. If that vial breaks, the agent could be… indescribably… dispatched from life. Grem, however, did not have as much consideration as me. He gave the orb a little shake before tucking it under his arm.
“Plus, we caught the guinea pig back there. Look at em’. Not model material, huh?” I actually looked at the human that was barely visible at Freki’s side. They were… rather unsightly in my opinion, but that could just be because I was looking at a filthy piece of human scum. If every human had the face of an orangutan with tires shoved in their earlobes, then I would prefer to never see them again, just like father. Plus, the smell coming off them was horrendous. I could smell week old sweat practically dripping off the ratty green sweatshirt and month old fish radiated off the figure in general. I could tell that Freki was doing his best to breathe through his mouth, but every breath came with a concealed gag. Grem and I winced in sympathy and walked faster, ignoring the human’s complaint of being dragged along.
We walked for twelve minutes, ignoring the complaints that continued until Freki got annoyed enough to smack the human. Grem continued his one sided conversation and laughed at my nearly silent reactions. The most he heard was a huff or giggle but he was used to that by now and was able to continue on his own. Apparently, they recently targeted a pair of highly supervised politicians that were informed that there was a hit on them. They had an early alert system in place so the targets could leave and two escape routes to use. Grem said that they spent days figuring out a plan to realize they just had to sabotage the helicopter and a couple of parachutes. “The idiots didn’t even think to check their shoots. They just suited up and jumped. Easiest cash we made all month.”
“Then I’m glad my job was a little more stimulating for you.” Father stood at the open door with his arms crossed and a small smirk.
“Happy to have something to do.”
“Grem.” Freki elbowed past him, slightly pushing me as well in the process, and walked up to father. “What do you want us to do with this?”
“I have a cell prepared for him at the central console. A smaller one is ready for the agent. One made for his specific abilities.” Father moved out of the way, his nose wrinkling as the human was pushed past, and turned to me. “Did the journey go well?”
I nodded and motioned to the door. Father gave a sigh and shifted so the door was completely clear. “I may need you when the tests start, so stay within earshot of the lab.” I gave him a bow and walked away as father led the hitmen to his library. They were muttering something about payment and bonuses, but I really didn’t care at that point. I walked to the nearest shadow and blended in like I was trained to. I didn’t want that human to interact with me, but there was no reason to leave if I was going to be called back. Might as well guard the captives. Father spent so much time getting them that I doubt he would be very happy if they were lost.
The human kept making sounds even though there was no one there (that they could see). He called for a lawyer and demanded his release. Neither of those would help him. Father wouldn’t let the secret of the Hidden City get out to the humans. This human will either pass here or join the Hidden City community by force. As much as I wanted to let him go, this was the best choice for him. I just looked away and focused on the normal grunts and snarls of the lab creatures. They were all better where they were as well.
Thinking of them, I might as well tend to their needs instead of just waiting around being useless.
