you can call me ginger.

US-based, white, cis, disabled, queer, survivor in my 30's.

my expertise lies in trauma and sexual violence, and i studied to be a clinical mental health counselor, but that's not what i am actually doing for work. i work as a bartender at a community-focused nano-brewery, and as an assistant to a local construction/renovation company that focuses on historic buildings. i used to work at a pig boarding facility and foster home, with one of the leading experts in mini-pigs, so i also know a lot about them.

my interests include love, beauty, community, growing, learning, reading, creating, cultivating, nature, eating, sleeping, video games, tv, my pets, pickles, pigs (the animals), astrology, parapsychology, and my husband.

i do my best to tag things appropriately if you filter certain content, for whatever reason. for example, food will be tagged, bugs/insects/creepy crawlies will be tagged, any posts related to violence of any kind will be tagged. if they are my own posts, they will likely also contain a read more.

all newly uploaded media will contain captions or a description in the alt field, or in the body of the post.

my boundaries are below, TLDR: i can and will block you for any reason, don't get overly familiar, rude, or cross my boundaries.

After sharing the bird play vs tool use paper, a lot of people expressed interest in animal behaviour + play - I love cognition with a focus on play behaviour, which I feel is an aspect that is seriously undervalued by a lot of people.

babe i was Just thinking of you! in light of ross and his New Venture (some would say relationship) i have been lingering on the darkness of eion/ross v v much, as this whole thing just Reeks of the desperation that comes when you have a hard and fast realization that half your life is now gone with the wind, and you have nothing to show for it save a miniseries from 2001 and a string of broken affairs. truly the claustrophobic panic that might grip ones heart at such a moment could lead even the finest and strongest (of which ross is neither) of soldiers to catapult themselves into a deeply unclear relationship with a woman half your age.

like do we think there's a part of ross that is secretly wondering if eion gives a fuck that he's moved on? that maybe finally landing the plane on a relationship might be the closure he thinks he truly needs to put the past behind him and be an actualized person?? or that deep down he knows that there are pains in the past we truly can never escape and no matter what we do they're going to haunt us in myriad ways until we become numb to it and accept that what was there is now gone???

Gregory Burke To Adapt Ian Rankin’s Rebus Series as Eleventh Hour Drama Black Watch. Both adaptations, it has Richard Rankin’s participation.

Gregory Burke's play Black Watch was one of the first successes for the nascent National Theatre of Scotland, first appearing at the Edinburgh festival in 2006 and going on to a massively successful worldwide tour. Its plot focuses on the famous regiment as it goes into battle in Iraq - and the consequences for it as the government amalgamates it with others to become a battalion in a new Scottish regiment.

Scottish soldiers with the red feathers are members of Scotland's elite fighting force, the Black Watch, into action against Iraqi insurgents during a production of the National Theatre of Scotland's production of Black Watch, presented by Gregory Burke's portrait of an elite Scottish regiment serving in Iraq.

These Black Watch soldiers are realistic, too, portrayed by Jack Lowden (Cammy), Richard Rankin (Granty), Adam McNamara (Rossco), Chris Starkie (Stewarty), Cameron Barnes (Macca), Gavin Jon Wright (Nabsy), Scott Fletcher (Kenzie), and Andrew Fraser (Fraz). Stephen McCole plays the Officer, and Robert Jack doubles as the Writer and the Sergeant.

The men are fighting for their regiment, company, platoon, section, and, ultimately, their mates. And the camaraderie is caught in a final image of Cammy (Jack Lowden)

Memories of the actual regiment's action in the Middle East are still fresh.

The Black Watch is an ancient regiment, as the drum at its museum in Perth shows. Campaign and battle honours date from 1759, and include the Napoleonic, first and second world wars.
