A big component of rosquez that I think doesn’t gets explored enough is the idea that Vale thought Marc’s love/affection for him wasn’t genuine.
Marc loved Vale. From an outside perspective that seems obvious. Vale loved Marc but didn’t want to. It was so easy for Marc to love Vale–his childhood idol, larger than life personality, talented, charming, attractive. So many people, so many young drivers exactly like Marc worshipped Vale the same way. Marc’s behaviour towards Vale wasn’t super unique. And up until Sepang, Vale’s behaviour towards Marc wasn't really noteworthy either. Vale was friendly with a lot of younger drivers. He always liked taking on a mentor role.
I honestly think you could be forgiven for not reading too much into their interactions up until Sepang 2015 because the really damning part on Vale’s end is how he reacts after the divorce. The fact that Marc wasn’t even his main rival, and the fact Vale was STILL ahead in the championship up until his penalty in Sepang (which happened as a direct result of the drama with Marc). It’s the fact that all of Vale’s past rivalries were way more consequential to his results. AND YET the only one he hasn’t made up with is Marc, in spite of Marc continuously trying.
Marc doesn’t love easily but he loves fiercely and singularly. I don’t doubt Marc had real affection for Vale. However, I think you can forgive Vale for doubting whether or not Marc was genuine. Vale, the ego maniac control-freak that he is, was probably very comfortable in their dynamic at first because he so clearly had the upper hand. He was Marc’s childhood idol, Marc worshipped him. Vale probably had a sense that the relationship was very one sided, and that gave him a sense of control. I’m sure at first, Vale liked giving Marc attention and praise because I mean we’ve all seen the clips, how could anyone, let alone an egomaniac like Vale, not preen at receiving that much unfiltered adoration.
But at some point, Vale grew to love Marc and I don't imagine it was a pleasant experience for Vale. He goes from feeling in control of their dynamic, very literally having the upper hand, to feeling very vulnerable. I could see him not quite understanding it at first (or ever). If Vale didn’t care about Marc outside of racing, than he wouldn’t be bothered by Laguna Seca 2013 (And I don’t think he was at the time! Because he didn’t really care that much about what Marc thought of him outside of racing. Yes, it was annoying at the time but I think it only became painful in restropect. Laguna Seca and the episode at the ranch in 2014, those first fracture events, I think the problem was that they hurt Vale and he didn’t really know what to do with that. I think Vale could understand being annoyed that this little twink used HIS move against him and that he showed up to Vale’s place and BEAT him. I think Vale could rationalize being annoyed, and though he probably wouldn’t want to admit it, I think he also could accept that Marc beating him made him feel insecure. BUT! Vale didn’t only come away from Laguna Seca and the episode at the ranch annoyed and his ego a little bruised, he was HURT. Because Marc was treating Vale like he would anyone else, like a competitor. Those two events communicated to Vale “you’re not special”. But theorectically, that should be fine right? Vale sees Marc as a competitor too and it would be worse is Marc LET HIM win just because he was Marc’s idol. But those two events were a problem because Marc was special to Vale. Vale cared about how Marc acted towards him.
And that completely changes the power dynamics of their relationship. All of a sudden Vale is very vulnerable to getting hurt. In Vale’s fucked up little power balance equation, whoever cares less holds the more power, because they are less likely to get hurt. Everytime Vale feels hurt by Marc it’s evidence he’s losing the idgaf war (so to speak) and that’s terrifying. Because, at this point, what evidence does Vale really have that Marc, genuinely cares about HIM, as a person, and not just Valentino Rossi, the larger than persona that he fell in love with as a child on TV.
I imagine the part of Vale that wanted love and connection was probably desperately searching for evidence that Marc loved him, HIM, and not just the persona. But does Vale even know where does one end and the other begin? Especially in 2013-15. That being said, could he ever be sure that Marc really loved him and not just the persona? (listen to Young and Beautiful by Lana del Rey and picture it from Vale’s perspective for maximum brain damage)
The part of Vale that was scared probably jumped at every bit of evidence that Marc’s hero’s worship wasn’t genuine. I also think this is why his friends were able to convince him to buy into this crazy narrative that he’s sticking with to this day. In a fucked up way, I wonder if he was relieved when uccio showed him the telemetry. Now, he could say Marc was a villain. If Marc was evil and most importantly DISINGENUOUS, he could be angry and that would be safer than being scared. Deep down I think he knew that Marc was genuine (at least to some extent) but even the remote possibility of Marc rejecting HIM or the more plausible scenario where he cared more about Marc than Marc did about him, were just TOO much for him to deal with.
If you were to make a pyramid of the delusional things Vale tells himself to justify everything… Vale’s first line of defense, the excuse he actually gives other people, is that Marc was evil and conniving. And this works because Marc do be committing war crimes on track and how could you have a relationship, let alone a friendship with someone like that. However, I think Vale only really believes his own bullshit about Marc being a supervillain like 5% of the time. His second line of defense, the one that he tells himself most often, is that Marc wasn’t genuine and he was doing the rational thing by protecting himself and pushing Marc away. In the end, I think all of this mental gymnastics is to protect himself from thinking about a scenario where he lets Marc in and Marc sees the real him, and still decides to leave.

It's a thing I already knew but all your beautiful analysis really made obvious (to me) how much of a grudge holder vale is. That man is never letting it go he's gonna hold his grudges into his grave
you know, I do think this is an interesting issue, because I'm not sure this is true of all his grudges. just sticking here with the grudges he accumulated in his capacity as a competitor, rather than just his general approach to life or whatever... how you judge this will kinda depend on how you feel about the 'reconciliation' he's experienced with some of his rivals - and whether you read the whole thing as sincere or not. now, personally I reckon he still dislikes biaggi, but also you are allowed to just dislike people so I'll give him a pass for that. some of the others, I'm a little more convinced by the whole reconciliation schtick
let's get valentino's take:
interesting that he mentions those three together, isn't it? and like, he's still not messaging biaggi or inviting him to his home - "even with max" kind of tells you all you need to know - but the other two? they said some proper nasty things to each other over the years!! I mean, the casey rivalry, there's some remarks from both sides where quite frankly I think I would struggle just a touch to get over it
I don't know, obviously this could all be pr stuff, but I kind of feel like... y'know, why bother? it's 2022, you're retired, who gives a fuck? sure it's a good look to be all magnanimous, sure it can be a bit of a way of twisting in the knife to the guys left in the cold, but also, who would care if you don't play nice? I think especially with jorge, you surely don't need to do all that, inviting him to your home and dancing with him... (which, again, some of the spats those two had...) and with the casey rivalry, if there's one guy who's still hung up about what happened between the pair of them, it's obviously casey (speaking of blokes who can hold a grudge). maybe this is giving valentino too much credit, but personally I buy it's more or less sincere. there's nothing to really indicate he's still particularly bothered by any of their past disagreements - he's basically going for the 'all's fair in love and motorcycle racing' approach. he knows he was an asshole, he accepts they were assholes too, whatever, that's how these things work. he's generally a fan of drama in rivalries, unsurprisingly, and he was happy enough to contribute his fair share - but he does see it as fundamentally being part of the game
to point out the obvious, check out who he's left out: sete and marc. that's where he can't let go of the grudges... because it's not about the offence itself as much as it is about the betrayal. this is the thing with valentino, right, it's about what kind of bond you had with him. if you weren't his friend in the first place and then piss him off as a rival then, y'know, whatever. obviously he's going to be vicious in trying to get back at you, but also he's really not going to waste his time feeling too aggrieved by it. I mean, think about how all the bullshit between him and casey dropped off sharply post-2012... from valentino's end anyway. think about how jorge and valentino pretty quickly got on again whenever they weren't fighting for supremacy within yamaha. they weren't friends in the first place, then they were enemies for competitive reasons for a while there, then it's over and valentino is basically happy enough to call it bygones
but... if it's a certain kind of bond you had with him and then you wrong him... that little mental list of all his past grievances, all your past transgressions, that's where it comes in. that's where he ices you out. denies you any emotional warmth. ensures that any interaction going forward is conducted entirely on his terms. where even any public 'reconciliation' won't truly be sincere.... or, certainly he's not going to forget what happened. if something else happens... it's like you've always got the potential of triggering this lingering resentment, in a way, where all that past stuff is still primed and ready to be called upon. he certainly doesn't just let it go
or, as he puts it in his autobiography:
Biaggi and I never talk to each other. I mean, we've never had a real conversation, anything that's lasted more than the requisite time to insult each other or put each other down, in the nastiest way possible. In any case, I don't hate him. It's true, we've never been friends, but hatred is something different, and that's too serious a word to describe our relationship. Far too serious. No, we have a reciprocal antipathy. No doubt this is a result of what we do for a living and the fact that we both want to win every single time. And perhaps it's also a function of the fact that we have very different personalities and very different ways of seeing things. Still, I don't think this means we hate each other, as some journalists have written. I think I could feel hatred for someone, but only for someone far worse than anything Biaggi has done. For example, if I were betrayed by a friend, then, yes, I could hate him. But Biaggi will never betray my friendship for the simple reason that we are not, and never have been, friends. Our relationship is very clear: we compete on the track - outside the track, each goes his own way. You could say we detest each other cordially.
... I mean. he said it, not me. and given this book was first published in '05... biaggi can't betray his friendship because they were never friends... I'm not saying he's thinking about sete, but it has to at least be a possibility, right? he's talking about one rivalry here and refusing to even mention the other... and the one he's refusing to mention is the one where he was friends with the other bloke. I don't know, maybe that's reading too much into it! and anyway, even if this passage wasn't really about sete, it's obviously still revealing. "detest each other cordially" is essentially what he was doing with casey and jorge (or from his point of view in any case, not entirely sure they'd agree with that). the grudge comes when he feels let down by you... and then, yes, he'll never let it go
of course, he's willing to set aside his grievances for a while if there's sufficient motivation for him to do so. in 2009, when he had so definitively won that rivalry with sete, why bother kicking up a fuss? in 2016, quite frankly it was just too much, and it was getting to the point where it was obviously hurting him too. on the one hand there was the media furore that had been going on non-stop since sepang, on the other hand it was also hurting his own approach to racing. there's reports from the time how visibly aggrieved he still was in the first few races of the season, and it took until they got back to europe for him to... y'know, have fun again. it's not sustainable to be walking around with a constant dark cloud over your head and broadcasting burning resentment towards your two main rivals. certainly not for someone like valentino - he needs to be having fun! the slight rapprochement needed to happen, in a way, because otherwise those years would have been even worse for everyone involved. but that doesn't actually translate to forgetting any of those grudges. this is about convenience more than anything else
goes to show, really... most of the time he doesn't take these things personally. I talked about it a bit in this post, how maybe it's also something that changed over time for him: the question of whether he was willing to develop these kinds of bonds in the first place with competitors... because he does possess a certain level of self-awareness in terms of what these kinds of rivalries are like and what they do to interpersonal relationships. ideally, you don't want to be hurt by a friend like that, right? better not to have that kind of emotional attachment with your competitors in the first place. how unfortunate it'd be if all those years after sete the circumstances aligned for him to see a competitor as something like a friend again... because, after all, those are the only people who could betray him. those are the only people where he thinks he could truly hate them
#this response kinda got away from me a little bit but I wrestled it to a stop before it really went on a tangent#we were this close to a sepang 2016 sidebar#anyway listen I restricted this to how he conducts himself *in competition* for a reason so y'know. I do think it's a difference#ugh this is tied very closely to another post in my drafts that ideally I'd link to but one of these has to be posted first so#anitalianfrie#valentino rossi#rosquez#kinda maybe#//#4693#sg15#i do frequently think about casey messaging valentino about his daughter btw....... kills me a little#but also again when I get to the casey thesis this is like a big pillar of it - this slight disconnect within casey#he was still slagging off valentino the rider on a 4hr podcast like a year after he's sending him a bunch of messages about his daughter#he's still slagging off valentino THIS YEAR. they're very funny to me. I can buy valentino can separate these things out#but casey? very interesting of him#I think it's actually kinda notable how little valentino has relitigated past grievances post retirement when compared to his rivals#With One Notable Exception. I do feel like at a certain point of fame and success you should try and be above this kind of thing#but I mean there is a universe where valentino is calling casey weak for laguna or whatever in 2024#batsplat responds#idol tag#brr brr

just after the emilia romagna press conference, pecco & marc | ~500 words
overt vs covert psychological warfare: a rosquez thesis
——
“Pecco!”
Pecco freezes, one foot in a snare, waits for Marc to catch up. He almost doesn’t want to turn around; he does.
Marc, arms folded, appraises him, face exactly as guarded as it had been in the press room. “Sorry.”
Which is absolutely fucking not what Pecco expected him to say.
“You should not be—you’re right, it’s nothing to do with you.” Marc shrugs. No expression. “Sorry.”
“Ah…” Pecco tries his best to gather himself. “It—it will keep happening, I think. They are just giving us some practice for next year.”
The granite cracks, just a little. “It’s our problem,” Marc says, plaintive. “Not yours.”
Pecco wonders if Marc hears the sound of his own voice when he says our, if he notices what it does, if it makes him want to bang his head against a wall. Maybe he rides through it. Maybe he doesn’t even realise.
That’s worse, somehow.
“It will be my problem. To them, anyway.”
“Not to me.”
“Well.” Christ. “Thank you.”
Marc nods, looks away as if he’s uncomfortable. “You really do not care?”
“I was not racing.” It’s true. True enough.
“You know what happened, though.” And that’s a challenge.
“I know what Valentino said happened.”
Conversations with Marc are always a tightrope-tread; he lets someone talk themselves into knots, nods along, lets them talk some more, and leaves knowing far more than they ever intended to let him see. He’s watching now, head tilted just the slightest amount, all sharp eyes and tight lips. He looks like he’s seeing something in Pecco that—maybe it’s the first time, maybe not, but he’s seeing it, cracking open his ribcage to stare. “So what do you think?”
It’s an easy trap, but a trap nonetheless. “I think that the truth is somewhere in the middle. Like with most things.”
“Mm.” A blink, and Pecco’s sidestepped the pitfall. “I really—I want to say thank you for the podium. I appreciate it.”
“It is not nice to hear, especially—” Pecco’s feet catch on something; the rope he’s about to hang himself with, maybe. “It was a good win. People should appreciate that.”
“I am used to it. Besides.” The word is rolled around his mouth before it’s released like a bullet. “You know why they do it.” A pause, just. “They do not like me.”
If someone found them like this—Enea, maybe, or Bez is in the next press conference—if someone would just appear and release Pecco from this death spiral he’s locked in—but that would be worse, if this was discovered. Whatever this is.
“I am me,” Marc says. “There is not a lot I can do about that.”
Fucking—Pecco doesn’t want to begin unpacking that.
“You’re not him,” Marc continues, voice soft. It’s a hammer blow. This is how he does it, how he gets back at Valentino: quietly, wide smiles, delicately uncaring words. Whispers in the ears of his disciples.
Pecco, caught in the snare, doesn’t say anything. Can’t—can’t say anything.
“But I think maybe—” and Marc looks him up and down, strips him bare, vivisects him right there in the corridor outside the press room. “You already know that, no?”
By the time Pecco has his breath back, by the time he’s gathered his insides up from their pile at his feet, Marc is gone.
#i have been visited by the gods of productivity. i will now not write anything for three months#yeah i do have adhd why do you ask#motogp rpf#marc marquez#pecco bagnaia#rosquez#<- i have to tag because it's them. it's always them#cara.fic

obsessed with the bodyswap you just wrote!! sooooo insane making it would LOVE to know where you think it goes from there… are the wounds healed with the tenth under vale’s name… or is it WORSE because vale knows that He was not actually the one to win it… do they fuck nasty about it (kidding. mostly)
Also going to include @moonshynecybin's tags here because they made me pause, especially the first one. Fic in question here for additional context.
So, I thought about this a lot because I feel like this touches the Rosquez thesis a lot, and the many ways you can interpret it.
The damage to their relationship was done before they even raced in Sepang (let alone before Jorge won the championship). They were doing better before it all crumbled down in 2018. And then they once again appeared friendly before divorcing again in Misano in 2019.
All that to say that if we're being real, they were probably doomed in the long run, no matter the outcome of 2015.
In this little universe, though, I do believe that end result of the championship and Marc fighting for him can alter the perception and the understanding Valentino has of Marc, which is key to a better development of their relationship, I think.
(That and better communication but let's not ask too much of them. Anyway.)
From Marc's side, I believe that things are pretty straight forward. Contrary to what Valentino wanted to believe, Marc genuinely didn't have any reason to make Jorge win (they didn't even start looking friendly until 2019, Valentino please, anyway I diverge) and while the press conference definitely annoyed him and made him want to have Valentino pay in some way (cue him being a little more of a nuisance than usual irl), I don't think that's his final mindset in the body swap universe (which is why I wrote things the way I did with him doing his best and getting Vale the tenth, duh).
I've always tended to consider Marc has a person who doesn't hold a grudge (we have one point in common, yeah!) and to me it's always aligned with canon events and the way he's always talked about separating the on-track events from the off-track events. Of course there was some ignoring going on in the beginning of 2016 but then he was the one reaching out to him.
He's always cared about Valentino a lot and maybe he's turned a blind eye on things being a little weird in the months leading to Sepang while being just a little aware of them (like, they were still laughing together and holding hands two race weekends before Sepang, we've all seen the confused/lost expression on his face post press con, home boy did not see that one coming) but when he wakes up in Valentino's body that Sunday in Valencia? Yeah, deep down he still wants the best for Valentino. So he wins him the tenth.
On Valentino's side, though? Oh boy. He legitimately cannot understand Marc's brain process through this and it fucks him up a lot (story of his life, truly). And it's silly but his mind goes both "oh maybe he's not that evil after all" and "hm, he must have done that with an ulterior motive" (hashtag self sabotage). I don't think he believes in that second one much but it's hard to let go of it because it's also the train of thought that justifies his actions and words of the past weeks, so.
Anyway. Logistics now, because you all know I'm a very (too) practical person.
Valentino needs to be there for the celebrations of his title (watching Marc having to do the little gimmick they had prepared for the 10th after he crossed the finish line was painful enough) (I'm going to assume Marc got briefed / reminded about it by Uccio before the race, just in case) (I'm not gonna imagine what they could have prepared but it was definitely the most awkward moment of Marc's life).
If we keep going in the last scene of the first post, we can go like :
"You need to apologize for me, so we can be seen together without raising a billion questions."
"What?"
"We don't even need to organize anything because you'll have to talk to the press tomorrow after testing anyway. You can say that I got a little carried away because I'd been waiting on that title for a long time and I shouldn't have gone off on you like that. We talked and it's all fine now."
Marc's face is unreadable and it's disconcerting. Valentino has always been told that he wears all of his feelings on his sleeve and he very rarely sees himself on camera but being met with his face so guarded? It throws him off a lot.
When the silence stretches, Marc has a short laugh. "Oh you're serious? You want me to go out there and actually lie for you? Just so you can be there when all of Italy is at your feet again?"
On a corner of his mind, Valentino has to wonder if being in his body is giving Marc more confidence than usual because even Valentino can recognize that this is the most confrontational Marc has ever been with him. [which, this is just Marc fighting for himself because he's exhausted and he's in the wrong body —a stressful experience already— and he's just done the right thing and Valentino still isn't happy with him, he needs a break]
Marc's not looking at him. He's barely been doing so since they woke up that morning.
Valentino doesn't call him out on it.
"I think this would be good for you too. If you think about it."
And then Marc looks at him, murderous enough that Valentino feels uneasy and wraps his arms around himself. [How nice to finally worry about the influence of his words on the public's opinion of Marc, right?]
"No wonder you want me to do the apologizing for you considering how much you suck at it," Marc huffs. Valentino thinks he might see some tension releasing from his shoulders. [Because Marc, bless his poor 22 years-old soul, can recognize that this is actually good for him. Doesn't mean he can't give Valentino a hard time about it.] "You're sure you don't want to use my voice to make me apologize for things I didn't do? I'm sorry that my racing had an impact on the championship, I'm glad all ended as it should have."
Valentino can recognize the sarcasm dripping in Marc's voice. He still tells him to shut up but it doesn't sound mean. Not to his ears. Not to Marc's considering the half smile that pulls on his face for maybe one second.
The next day, testing happens (going relatively well considering the situation) and Marc apologizes on Valentino's behalf and he squeezes Valentino's shoulder when he passes by Valentino (while he's talking to the press) and both his words and the photo make rounds on Twitter and all over the Internet.
Then, Marc goes to Tavullia with Valentino. I don't care if that's too big and going to raise too many questions, it's happening.
Don't ask me more about that day but yes, of course they end up having sex about it. It's always sex fixing those situations, anyway. I'm not sure I can say much more about it because body swap sex fucks with my mind a little but yes to all the headcanons.
I do know that 22 years-old Marc exuding Valentino's confidence and boldness sure is a sight for sore eyes.
Okay and I just reread this original ask. I think that Valentino will forever feel a little weird about it but I don't think there is resentment, not really. Can he ever truly deconstruct the delusional thoughts he built in his head (with Uccio's help) in the second half of 2015? I don't know.
But I think he has enough clarity to know he wouldn't have achieved what needed to be achieved in Valencia without Marc's help, so there is that.
#rpf#4693#my writing#sort of#sorry this is all over the place and I don't know if it makes sense or is answering any question#but god yes it is such a form of marriage#and yes also something marc uses in arguments in the future of course

Hi! I have been thinking about Marc and the ways he expresses his anger... giving the cold shoulder... the silent treatment if you will (he will speak ABOUT vale but not TO vale let alone WITH vale)... need your input please....
hmm good question.... this got. STUPID long sorry
uhhh marc is, in general, good at keeping his (negative) emotions in check. like i think marc loooooves to think of himself on track as a mature, controlled, and rational dude. above distraction. a killer. a cyborg. idk his dad has talked about how he doesnt really complain much about injury and there's also allll these stories about what a mature kid he was... so i think that when he was young - ESPECIALLY in a racing sense because he was so much younger than most of the people he was competing against - he internalized that in order to do all the stuff he wants to do racing-wise, he reallyyyy has to keep a level head and not well. act his age! and i think that extends to a lot of how he manages his emotions today (at least in a public setting). even in places where im pretty sure hes PISSED (sepang. phillip island 2013.) he just kind of. visibly contains himself. not a confrontational dude in the outright sense he'll clench his jaw and try to work through it.
which is part of what makes his valentino-oriented crazy so interesting. bc people were noticing that marc in 2015 was kind of. being weird. as his and valentino's relationship deteriorated. like they were both outwardly very much like we can keep it on track :) until the big fallout towards the end of the year but uhhhh. well marc has said that vale started pulling back in september of 2014 like he was noticing SOMETHING, and they clashed on track A LOT in 2015, and i think marc sensed vale cooling on him and freaked a lil. hashtag neurotic 22 year old moments. he is my favorite crazy ex girlfriend. like usually he IS good at separating that stuff out and managing his emotions in the racing sense but in assen that year when vale overtook him off track after they made contact he raised a BIG stink with race direction and actually had some uh. not especially chill quotes about it. (it should be noted marc was also flopping for the first time in his motogp career. like in his brain he stopped winning AND vale stopped talking to him he was goin through it) adn all the reporters noticed too they were like. why werent you sucking and fucking in parc ferme. like vale's left turn wrt to spaniard sabotage comes outta nowhere but people WERE noticing that things were changing. i bet marc noticed too. BUT they are not the type of people to talk about these things so they keep it to vague flirting in presscons and escalating on-track tension slash proxy wars waged in race-direction contexts... liek truly you are 22 you are not going to keep your championship title and your hot sports idol bestie is no longer flirting with you on twitter and you COULD just talk to him about that but you'd rather DIE so youre going to ask honda to back you up to race direction about your last race where you DEFINITELY lost bc winning is the ONLY thing thatll make you feel better. even though thatll help convince your hot sports idol that you are engaging in a benedict arnold level betrayal scheme against him. an insane time to be marc marquez. 2015 really kind of is a study on how both of them handle losing: NOT WELL.
and then the thing about sepang is that then the lid is blown clean off and marc spends the ENTIRE race being annoying on purposeeeee. hes so fucking pissed and hurt at valentino that he decides to get under his skin for REALSIES instead of focusing on his race. like idk he probably would have fought hard for the win without the drama that how he works but uh. i think he was being annoying specifically to bite at vale's edges. and part of that is bc marc is naturally and effortlessly annoying. but i think part of it was SPITE. like his team advised him not to speak on anything from that presscon and he didnt, but he can still fuck him over on track. get under his skin. like he cant tell vale to his FACE that he's angry and confused and hurt. but he CAN let him know on that fucking racing line. where he cant be ignored. idk like i cant see marc letting anyone else get under his skin like that.
AND another big ass exception to the marc marquez anger management philosophy is from misano 2019 where vale messes with his qualifying lap. a lovely anon sent me some videos of marc talking to the press and jesus christ i dont think ive ever seen him angrier oh my god. AND the anon also linked the race from that weekend where he won and he celebrated harder than ive seen him celebrate some TITLE wins like he went. notably nuts. the commentators were all like uhhhh. he mustve REALLY wanted to get one over on vale adjfhlkdh... idk if any of this answered your question but his relationship to his emotions fascinates me hes so weirddddd. and its interesting to me that he can shrug off jorge ruining his last race at honda and be friendly but also be like. kind of aloofly pissed at bezz. because of valentino! he can repress the rest of it, but valentino shines through the cracks.
#its interesting bc theres also this tension with him where he keeps all of this tightly controlled and then he also REALLY wants you to know#about it. like in his docuseries hes like okay i know we have to talk about valentino :/ which is CRAZY bc he is producing that series#and its about his comback from injury. he could have EASILY left it out but he wanted to set the record straight#and also pull the punch/make it seem like hes no longer invested by saying he doesnt wanna talk about it#idk i think he was smart to keep his mouth shut in sepang 2015 but it CLEARLY cost him#like i think his own reservedness confines him sometimes and he chafes. and it bubbles out. like marc dont you just wanna go apeshit.#anyways this isnt even my entire marc and anger thesis like i need to go back to grad school lmao#callie speaks#motogp#asks#marc marquez#rosquez#tbh. i should just write some fic. hmm.#long post

Archaeologists 200 years from now are going to find Marc's helmet in the unearthed ruins of the Ranch and it's going to be that meme. The "they were friends" meme of the 2 skeletons entwined together.
Articles will be written about what their relationship had been exactly. And all the preservation of pics/moments/references/the podium series from this site will be used as crucial evidence.
Our moment in the spotlight
Fr in my first years in the career, when I was taking classes about contemporary art and history (I don't remember the exact name of the class, but it was about these two topics), I did my projects on how pop culture history, but can be aplited to f1/MotoGP, cause it has glipsems of what is pop culture etc;will be interpreted and studied in the distant future by historians or social science students for their thesis etc; and their research would be through Twitter posts, Tumblr accounts, etc. a perfect example of this is that is alredy happening in real time. For instance, most of the information, guidance, etc., on Brocedes on Twitter or other apps comes from Tumblr because the format of this site allows users to create big posts compiling whole histories of things, effectively acting as literary archives. So now, in real time, people come here to learn about their ships, posts on here are used for this purpose and for rosquez it will he the same
#so sorry this has gone to anotehr way you ask whas doing#sotry but i just get exited#cause whar we post (okey not me but in general as comunal) is becoming a social stufy in itlsef#motogp#formula 1#nico rosberg#lewis hamilton#brocedes#valentino rossi#marc marquez#rosquez#ask

im asking! tell us about omegaverse rosquez
first of all, thank you lovely anons for indulging me. thoughts under the cut because i already know i'm going to get ranty
so of course vale is an alpha, marc is an omega, yadda yadda yadda. Marc enters the paddock of 125cc before presenting because he's a bit of a late bloomer (and that goes in his favour because otherwise he would have way less chances of getting signed) does he hide it? he's not the first omega rider in history, but also there have never been motogp omega champions, so he kinda keeps it under wraps until jorge (who's also an omega, amazing thoughts about him here by @whatwepostintheshadows) wins his chapionships. And then he gets to motogp and everybody knows it and he's so young and naive and of course he has the biggest crush on vale because not only he's an handsome alpha he's also THE valentino rossi the greatest of his generation the goat and knowing him personally? knowing what he smell like after a race when he's on the podium and adrenaline runs through his veins? Marc transforms into a horny puddle of goo. So he kind of starts slutting himself out because he knows he can get vale interested, he's there stretching right in front of vale folding himself in half and vale of course know that it's happening and pretends to not notice it but it reaches a point where he can't pretend anymore because he's going into pre-rut and marc is there, so sweet and inviting and purposefully showing the tendons of his neck, so he goes and whispers in his hear "if you don't stop people might get the wrong idea" and marc full of the cockiness that only a horny 20 years old can possess replies "what if it was the right idea?". After the race they fuck into Vale's room and Marc gets pounded into the mattress folded in half while Vale whispers how much of a dirty boy he is in his ears and keeps repeating "mine mine mine" and Marc gets insanely wet earing it. This was also Marc's first time with an alpha but he doesn't say anything about it because. He's with Valentino Rossi. What if he won't fuck him because of his inexperience.
They keep fucking after this and they almost get caught more than once because they keep doing it in public places, and Marc is full head over heels for Vale but of course it's not like that, because they're only having sex (and if Vale sometimes dreams of spending the rest of his life with Marc and biting his neck to mate him when he's not in rut and has no biological reason to blame for it, it's his business and his business only), and nobody can know about it because relationships between drivers are a big no no in the paddock.
And then marc gets invited to the ranch and everything starts to turn sour and Marc doesn't understand why, and of course he still spends his heats with vale but something is not right.
And then we get to sepang 2015 when vale gets convinced by other that of course marc is trying to help jorge win the championship because not only they are both spanish they are also both omegas, and everything that marc has done it's just part of their evil cunning scheme of destruction. (yes vale completely ignores the fact that 1. their relationship has started way before all of this shit and 2. that nobody knows about them so why would other people suggest it (omegaphobia), he's just as delusional as he is in our reality)
Anyway the press conference happens and. somehow it's worse. he insinuates that marc is helping jorge for the aforementioned reasons and takes as support of his thesis not only the track action, but their own relationship. Ok, it's not like he airs their dirty laundry in public, (because he would look like a fool, man that's your boyfriend) but he implies that marc has been trying to seduce him to purposefully distract him from the championship. Which is extremely insulting, mortyfing, and also has the consequence of setting back the opinion on omegas in motorsports of about 50 years. Marc is the evil incarnate. I will let you imagine how argentina goes because i do not have the strenght to get into that mess right now.

bodyswap rosquez… feed us more i beg
Oh Anon, I would love to, but unfortunately this week all my brainpower has been focused on my actual PhD thesis, and I haven’t been able to spare a single thought to this particular au. But be not afraid, bodyswap rosquez are now living rent-free in my brain, and I will certainly revisit them very soon!

hola! would love to know your thoughts on Uccio and his motivations...I read that quote from him that he *never* approved of the Marc friendship. Why though? What do you think?
stepping out of fanfiction world into irl: frankly i dont have much against him besides hes a certified marc hater who is at times a little shady. but this is sports. and that is enough. likeeeeee okay putting on my empathy hat here. YES he played a role in splitting up marc and vale's friendship (really pushed vale over the edge with the data) and YES hes kind of an incurable yes-man and YES he's a lil sleazy (smile more pecco lmao) but like. those arent crimes ! vale is also kind of a sleaze ball !! and he made the decision to blow up his relationship with marc all by his 36 year old self in the end !! and as for vale keeping him around all the time like. being famous sucks !! and theyve known each other since they were (mostly) normal kids !! idk like to have someone i know would never intentionally betray me in my back pocket who i also enjoy hanging out with would be genuinely so important... like BOTH marc and vale have their people that theyve known forever that they keep inside their VERY small little bubble... marc got lucky that his (alex) is also a very good rider! vale had to make his an assistant. which to me is a bit weirder in terms of power dynamic. significantly so. but still very understandable imo. their codependent slay
BUTTTT where uccio is so funny is as a narrative device for rosquez tbh. like hes GONNA catch strays here bc he fills that fun little role of relationship saboteur for them. like HE went to vale with the telemetry "proof" about Phillip Island 2015, he vocallyyyyyy hates marc still to this day, and while rosquez were friends he was genuinely giving marc the evil eye in parc ferme so fucking often it was so funny. whats ur ISSUE man
so like. i can see him embracing his and vale's #codependence and seeing marc as like. a threat to vale's legacy, a threat to his direct championship hopes, and ALSO a threat to his and vale's weird relationship. like truly when your buddy gets their first serious significant other and you feel a lil weird that they arent spending as much time with you... so i think allllll of those coalesced in his brain and it became MISSION CRITICAL. to get vale on board with hating marc. so he kind of maybe started a teensy smear campaign to get that twink outta here. which to be fair to his iago slay did work. grima wormtongue lookin ass.
#ipad stand (credit f1vegas) was so canonical to me though... gagged him...#sorry for dropping an uccio thesis here. henchmen are so funny to me but then i think about how isolating fame is and i cant be tooo mean :#like they are ride or die for each other and sometimes that is not a good thing. esp for people like marc who is my close personal friend#am i making sense? eho can ever be sure#callie speaks#motogp#rosquez#uccio salucci

luca in the same age au at some point is going to get annoyed at rosquez for being on a break again and just show up to marc's house to tell him you need to take vale back he's too much to deal with while you guys are fighting
you guys (and i love you never forget this.) want luca to be the one to get them together VERY badly but im so sorry i think that man mostly just does not think about them at all. truly he is TIRED of his life revolving around his (beloved) brother and his narrative and his drama. and he loves his brother!! but luca knows hes not a GOD. hes just a DUDE. the world does not actually spin on an axis of valentino rossi. and i think luac sees yearsssssss of marc and vale hissing at each other like two extremely territorial and pissed off cats and enacting eight different psychotic horny levels of mind games in every interaction they have on and off-track and vale attempting to cast elaborate witches curses on marc and. he simply sails by comma unbothered. "what if luca trapped rosquez in a closet" FUN. but hes got his OWN SHIT GOING ON. he doesnt have the time OR the will to meddle with them playing 4-D chess whorish wargames against each other to the end goal of precisely fucking nothingggg
like in reality hes taken his own cross unto himself here entirely to ESCAPE the vale narrative. hes currently too busy toiling like telemetry sisyphus laying down testing laps on that DOGSHIT honda and flying around the world every single free weekend he has at his disposal in vain pursuit of NOT EVEN perfection BUT IMPROVEMENT! INCREMENTAL improvement!!! and he fully and of his own volition took that into his legacy. a career defining move that he KNOWS will be initially terrible and suck absolute eggs. he chooooose that bike. he said i will be a factory rider, and i will be remembered outside of my brother, even if it gets me a TERRIBLE time on a motorcycle known for HORRIFIC CONSEQUENCES. idk i think he needs to test himself ! entirely out of vale's shadow ! and i think he saw this as one of the only ways he could do it. he's a data guy. honda needs a test monkey who doesnt mind being in the PITS (a hard sell in an ego-driven profession, even for a factory seat). like he knows thats how he can sell himself. and crucially he took the shot! absolutely fascinating character detail imo... meanwhile vale is TALKING MAD TRASH on podcasts and marc is alternating being pursuant of valentino's myriad narratives concerning switching to ducati and getting his ninth and loitering outside the VR46 ranch throwing eggs at bezz and pecco while simultaneously asking major sports news outlets to let valentino know that he was the best dick he ever had. they are in god's most toxic romcom while luca is bellyflopping into an against-the-odds sports underdog story that he very well may fail catastrophically at! they simply have other priorities! luca wants nothing to do it !!!!
#no one make the one must imagine luca marini happy post it is in my drafts and scheduled for the next race weekend he flops. thank u#this is not aggro i LOVE YOU ! i just had a luca thesis. and i have answered asks like this before i love a parent trap...#but consider. marc and vale both being like omg is he gonna parent trap ussss~ and luca not caring whatsoeverrrrr#and then they have to actually commit to working on their ISSUES. for themselves!#motogp#callie speaks#asks#rosquez#luca marini

“as we all know marc has and does connect his injury and his breakup with vale into one fucked up little play in his head” need your thesis on this kinda
i don’t need to write a thesis marc marquez: all in episode three wrote it FOR MEEE
#his doc is about his two largest traumas very explicitly… he did nawt have to do an episode long vale tangent in the middle#of his cut and dry sports narrative injury comeback documentary#when he’s never gone on record about sepang like that before EVER !#it’s kinda the same to him! the two most painful and effecting things !!!#motogp#callie speaks#asks#rosquez#also it’s all over my blog.. the thesis has been written

we all know abt vale infamously saying that he's not part of the mile high club but 'something a bit more easier'. first of all unhinged thing to say. second how do you think that when down in the rosquez universe. who initiated etc etc. btw let's ignore that vale said that in 2013
i’m thinking. joking response with kernel of truth. i’m thinking. why come to you when you all come to ME. ease of access. i’m thinking the mile high club is hard because you have to convince your partner that an airplane bathroom is a sexy space (flying scares the NUTS off of me so i personally think. ack.) and that seems a little high effort for the (at the time) casual hook up king valentino rossi. he can simply get pussy in other places. easily.
AND i’m thinking he’s never reallyyyy thought about it until marc. who wants it all the time and often in public because they don’t see each other much outside of race weekends. and he is on the same flight for someee reason (testing stuff? all week long casual fuck buddy vacation?? literally fate??) and it’s normal! until marc taps him on the elbow, leaves the pads of his fingers on the inside of the skin there. leans over to point something out, hot breath on vale’s cheek. doesn’t bother moving his knee away (i’ve never been in first class leave me alone if that’s not how it works) and marc’s not even TRYING to be sexy in fact he actually keeps trying to show vale stupid mountain biking videos on his fucking phone, but suddenly there’s a shiver running up vale’s spine and he can’t stop catching his eyes on the line of marc’s nose and thinking the most deranged thoughts in the WORLD and bouncing his knee up and down and it’s like. oh. that’s why people do this. okay. well i need to get inside him NOW. leans over to whisper to marc while he’s chattering away and watches the way his face changes. the way his pupils dilate. gets a hand on the strong muscle of his thigh. and OFF to tha bathroom they goooo
#rosquez sex thesis is in many ways about making vale realize he wants it enough to work for it imo.#truly like hurried handjobs SUPER sloppy and disgustang and then after they’re done they’re just panting and laughing bc it’s so ludicrous#marc staring up at vale eyes fucking shining so happy he feels like he’s flying…#<-airplane pun. sowwy.#motogp#callie speaks#asks#rosquez

vale haveing to hype himself up for three days to address marc’s vale-related ptsd and finally being like. so the italian press after 20 minutes of opening and closing his mouth over breakfast. and marc’s face doing something and going carefully blank and saying. let’s not talk about this. and then they never bring it up againnnnnnnn
i love imagining rosquez post reconciliation because they are still kind of. REALLY not used to letting the other see literally anything vulnerable about them. even in the aftermath of sepang marc is like. staring at vale blankly when hes being confronted by him absolutely closed off and vale is straight up making marc EVIL in his brain to avoid talking/thinking about any tender feelings he has wrt to marc/aging/losing the title/whatever. they are not good at it !!! but ESPECIALLY with each other, because the other guy has always on some level been competition-- and how they hell do you unlearn that behavior ? especially when part of it is what drew them together in the first place ? so no i dont think they are a talk-it-out couple i think they are a fuck-it-out couple.... anyways a totally unrelated marc quote from literally today:
like. marc thesis statement. and vale also literally does this.
#i think it takes a LONG time and a LOT of physical reassurance/half discussions and even then they DONT LIKE IT.#motogp#callie speaks#asks#rosquez

i think that pic also definitively proves that vale’s hands are bigger
Rosquez thesis in a way, Vale has slightly bigger hands, slightly bigger ego, slightly more pride, slightly more insanity, slightly bigger di- [gunshot]
i DO actually think marc has a bigger dick. which is fun
#let’s hear it for big dick bottoms everybody#motogp#callie speaks#asks#vale also MUCHHHHH more insane imo but that’s neither here nor there
