Propaganda Under Cut:
Rosie Betzler (Mother of Inge and JoJo Betzler and protector of Elsa Korr): Recommended by evie7common. Rosie is protective of her son (enought to slap a nazi soldier for putting her son in harms way) and tries to teach her son right from wrong. Rosie also protects Elsa from the Nazis even keeping her secret from her own son.
Didi Pickles (Mother of Tommy and Dil Pickles): Didi is a loving and protective mother who wants to make her children happy. She balances work and being a mother.

I think the reason a a lot of people miss the detail of Captain K bringing home Rosie’s bike during the gestapo raid is due to the fact that it's not the same bike as her's, which is a black women's bike with a basket on the front and wheel guards on the back. The bike Captain K brings home is a tan men's bike and looks similar to ones issued by the German army at the time.

People who have watched JoJo Rabbit (those who haven’t, you wouldn’t regret it. It is so amazing) and cannot get over Rosie Betzler (because same) send in requests if you have any!
I’d love trying to write for this storyline, especially if it’s Rosie x Fem reader because i just really want to write for her too.
I absolutely loved that character and to navigate a homosexual relationship in Nazi Germany is something I really want to try, especially with this character who was so dynamic in this entire plot.

Wasted Chances (Rosie Betzler x Reader) | ONESHOT
(not my GIF)
Masterlist
Pairing: Rosie Betzler x Reader
Warnings: angst. pure angst; MOVIE SPOILERS
Summary: Rosie Betzler is the love of your life. Her life changes dramatically and your last attempt to make it better is useless.
Word Count: 1K
A/N: This is me trying to process this heartbreaking movie at 2 a.m. SPOILERS, I recommend watching Jojo Rabbit first! Good reading i guess? 😃
——————————————————————————
„Tears are words the heart can‘t say.“
That‘s what my mother used to say. I never believed her, I thought it was some nostalgic gibberish, but I was taught better. Rosie Betzler taught me better.
We first met when I was visiting my aunt in Falkenheim. I was 22, she was 23, and I ran into her one evening in an overrun inn. She was accommodating as a waitress and I was spending my summer holidays there in order to get inspiration for my art studies. The first times we never talked, she was too focused on her work, and I… I was just fascinated by the beauty she radiated.
Then it all happened so quickly, she was standing outside the restaurant, smoking a cigarette and I stumbled into her. She laughed, which became my favourite sound immediately, and offered me one, too. Hesitantly, I agreed, I was unaware that this will become a daily routine. We never talked inside her work place, only spent this five, maybe seven minutes together. She turned me into a chain smoker, and I let her do it, only to spend a few minutes with her, and that was when I realized I would do everything for this girl.
Unfortunately I had to go back to my hometown to finish my degree and she stayed there, in Falkenheim. I was ready to get my heart ripped out and get it broken into a thousand little pieces, seeing her never again, but that never happened. On this last summer evening I told her about my departure and she just nodded and smiled at me. First I was shocked by her simple reaction, but when I got home and found a note in my jacket saying
„There is so little real friendship in the world. I should be damned if I lose this one.“
and her address on it, I have never felt happier.
We wrote letters every two to four days and we wrote about everything. And with every word she wrote to me I fell deeper and deeper in love with her. Rosie… she was sweet, selfless, caring and intelligent. She recognized the danger in Europe, long before it started to spread, she was so, so ahead of her time. I visited her in every short break I had from university, and when we were apart from each other, I always carried her with me: in my heart. I fell in love with her, I don‘t know how, I don‘t know why. I just did.
Despite this, I couldn‘t see myself telling the woman my true feelings. It felt so right, yet wrong. A woman loving another one? It was heartbreaking, but impossible in our time and I had to live with that. Besides, I didn‘t even know if she reciprocated my feelings. So I stayed silent and I watched. I watched her falling in love with Paul, I was her bridesmaid when she married him, I watched her becoming mother of two adorable children and I was happy because she was, and that was all that mattered to me.
After seeing her starting her own family, I decided to live my own life. I packed my things and traveled through Europe. I settled down in Paris, established my own little atelier and my life was beautiful, finally I could do what I loved most.
Life happened, and Rosie and I lost contact. Except for the Christmas greetings we exchanged every year there wasn‘t any important contact anymore. All the more I was surprised when I found a letter in my mail in August, Rosie‘s name written on it.
She was agitated, her life collapsing in front of her in only a few months. Her daughter Inge died, Paul was missing and she was on her own - and of course responsible for Jojo - while fighting against the Nazi regime in her country . She was desperate, and at that moment I knew what I had to do. I packed all my things, took the next train to Germany and was on my way to Falkenheim.
At that time I was still in good spirits. I decided to be there for her, hell, maybe even confess my feelings to her. I would be damned to not take such an opportunity.
And then I got out of the train. I walked, possibly even ran to the inn, but I didn‘t find her, so I thought it would be a good idea to search for the town centre and ask for her residence.
But what I found at the town centre wasn‘t her address.
I was completely in shock, not being used to seeing a public execution. Luckily, or not, I arrived when the to be killed were already dead. Tears threatening to make their way out of my eyes, I took one step forward. Only then I recognised who was among the victims.
I screamed, I dropped onto my knees, I was sure the people around me could hear my heart breaking into a thousand little pieces. A thousand little pieces that loved Rosie Betzler. My face covered in tears, I held onto her cold, lifeless body. I held her in my trembling hands. The woman I had been in love with half of my life. There she was. Rosie Betzler, heroine that died to save others and gave her life for the misunderstood. Rosie Betzler who died without knowing that she was the love of my life. Rosie Betzler who died without knowing that I was on my way to be there for her, to tell her how much I love her.
I don‘t know how long I stayed there. I lay next to her body for hours, maybe even days, never running out of tears.
My mother was a wise woman. I had to learn that the hard way.
„Tears are words the heart can‘t say.“
Or in my case: Tears are the words my heart never had the chance to say. Tears standing for the words I will never be able to say again.

Say it will always be like this (Rosie Betzler x reader)
For: @slytherinchevy
Request:
A oneshot about how rosie and the f!reader meet each other for the very first time and how they start loving each other.
Warning: nazis, holocaust, homophobia, anti aemitisim
A/n: soo I wasn’t sure if you wanted like when they were younger or not. Cus I usually go by the universe I created with the first one of these I wrote. So for this one I just decided to create a whole different way of them meeting. I hope that’s ok! WRITTEN ON MOBILE!
------------------------------------------------------
“Hey, can I help you with that?” You asked the blonde haired woman as she struggled to thread the textile machine. She huffed, her fingers swollen and red from battling with the harsh metal of the mechanical monster.
“No I got it, I’m just-“
“New here? I know I could tell when you walked through the door.” You put on your best smile as you lightly pushed the woman away from the machine. You sat down to beginning to fix it. She quirked her eyebrow at you.
“How’d you know?”
“Well first off,” you began,” I would remember such a beautiful woman,” she scoffed, a light blush coming to her cheeks. “And secondly, that look in your eye tells me that this hell hole hasn’t broken your spirit yet, that’s refreshing, you know?” She nodded as your hands continued to work magic on the mechanics. “And lastly, you didn’t heil the guards on the way in.” She gulped scared you would report her, or worse.
“I didn’t- I-“
“Oh don’t worry I hate them as much as you. You do hate them?” You asked hopeful you had common ground.
“Extremely!” She nearly yelled. You giggled at the excitement in her eyes. She had fire, what a rarity she was.
“I’m (y/n) by the way.” You told her, holding out your oil covered hand for her to shake.
Surprisingly she took it.
“I’m Rosie.”
——
“Hey Rose, we still on for tonight?” You asked coming up to your friend. She smiled an earth shattering smile and nodded.
“Of course, “ she leaned closer to you to whisper in you ear,” I can’t wait to see this bar you always talk about.” You shivered at the closeness. You wondered if she knew the kind of bar it was. If she didn’t, you probably would lose your friend forever.
———
You arrived at the remote location of the “women’s” bar. You hands shook with nervous energy as you entered the building. Your eyes found Rosie instantly, she was the center of the entire room. Every person’s eyes were on her. She was yours though. Judging by the way she hadn’t run away at the sight of the women making out in the corner, she was yours in a more than a platonic way.
She beamed as you made your way to her. Her hand slipped comfortably into yours as you sat down beside her. She could tell you were nervous, she always read people well. She pulled you closer to her, feeling comfortable here for the first time in a while. In the 8 months you had known Rosie; you had gotten really close. You could only dream of the affection being returned, especially these days.
“Sorry I didn’t tell you what this was, I was ...” you began.
“Scared? Me too.” With that she brought your lips to hers. It was your first kiss but it felt like you’d known her all along. It was like kissing the sun, pure energy surged through the women into you. The whole world lit up with the love of this women. When she pulled away your body continued to hum with her power. “I’ve never done anything like this before.” She said out of breath, her chest heaving.
“I have.” You laughed, so did she,” but no one is like you”

i think now is a good time to watch jojo rabbit
#jojo rabbit#taika waititi#rosie betzler#in all seriousness though i think it could really equip people to rescue loved ones from facsist ideology#there's more to antifa than punching nazis#in fact that is probably the least useful tool in your arenol#some people are too far gone#but most arent#especially young people#if you punch a 17 y/o for being a nazi you'll only solidify their view#they'll be less reluctant to listen to reason bc they've been made even more of an other#you just need to debunk their stance#its not hard#they're usually just angry#keep your cool and be firm#the most effective tool against facism is community#real community and understanding

Marvelvsmarvel Year In Review Pt IV:
Quarantine Movie Recommendation:
Jojo Rabbit
So quarantine sucks... But it gives us the opportunity to do things like workout, learn how to cook, read comics, and catch up on movies and shows. One movie in particular that I finally got to watch this year was Jojo Rabbit, the Academy Award winner for Best Original Screenplay from the genius mind of Director of Thor Ragnarok and the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, the one and only Taika Waititi.
I enjoy the notion that the MCU cast is a family and in a way a fraternity of actors that continues to grow and yet remains so exclusive. But it’s honestly grown so large that you can find a member of this MCU family in many upcoming films and in some cases multiple members in one film. Jojo Rabbit is directed by and stars Taika Waititi as the imaginary friend of young Jojo, Adolf Hitler. Black Widow herself, Scarlet Johansson stars as Jojo’s cool freedom fighting mom Rosie Betzler. Former Iron Man antagonist Justin Hammer, plays Jojo’s good ole Nazi camp instructor Captain Klenzendorf (but you can call him Captain K).
In Taika fashion this movie is hilarious but it is supported by curiousity and miles and miles of heart. The writing is fantastic navigating a young boy who was raised and influence by his culture to think one way but in the end he learns about life and comes to terms with letting go of the way things were. It is not all smiles and rainbows though as it touches on a very dark time in history. The action is mostly comical but still packs a Waititi bang! And young Roman Griffin Davis steals the show in his cinematic debut alongside such studs.
Overall the movie is mostly comical and yet it is very thought provoking given the perspective. It has a relevant message even for today not to be a Nazi but more so that most militant minds will fight the fight. It takes love (primarily from that of parents) and the overall fear of God to help show people right from wrong. There is still hope out that folks. If you haven’t gotten the chance to see it I highly recommend it. Hopefully we won’t be quarantined into the next year but find time to watch it regardless!
