This week so Far!

So recently I met a Guy called Alan Kemp. He’s a Christian, and Like me he has a heart to win people over for the Lord. We got chatting one night at almost 1am about Church and Mainstream Denominations, and it became clear we shared the same vision for smaller meetings for personal discipleship and growth etc. Then shortly after that he approached me about designing his Book Cover “How deep is Love” as we got chatting it dawned on him who I was. Later as we got talking over the phone this time, we quickly realised we had more in common as well as Being Christians and Small Fellowships. We quickly discovered BOTH our Wives had Blood Clots, Alan’s Wife Allison has in her Lung and My Wife Laura has one in her Leg. We formed a close bond and a firm friendship, and since chatting back and forth via Messenger, Text and Phone Calls we have met up. Laura and I go to Ballymoney Elim on a Sunday Night and Alan decided Allison, Aaron McDonald and Himself would jump in the Car and Travel 60 Plus Miles to Meet Laura and I and Go to Ballymoney Elim. So, on Sunday the 10th February 2019 we met face to face. So, after the service was over, we chatted over a cup of Coffee and Juice. We talked about getting Revive Christian Ministries off the ground and starting a Network of Smaller Fellowship Meetings Around Northern Ireland to begin with. During the Week so not to take anyone away from their Own Church Congregation. After much encouragement from a Gentleman called Mervyn Matthews, Alan Felt Charged up for Gods Mission for him, or should I say us. It been almost a week and it feels like a lifetime since we sat down and had a chat. We are currently planning our second meet up and again Alan will make a 60 plus mile Track to meet with me at Roseyards Presbyterian Church this time. Then I’m hoping that I can get down to the Markethill Christian Fellowship with Laura on the 11th March, hoping because I begin my new Job on the 25th February and unaware of my Off Duty at the present time. So, there you are a short history of how I met Alan Kemp! He has made a big impression on me! I am excited to see what God has instore for us both.

Today is Saturday 16th February 2019 and this morning I met with Michael, Terry and Pat for Breakfast and a time of Bible Study, Prayer and Discipleship. We looked at The Lamb of God from John 1:29-34 and then in Genesis 22 where Abraham went to Sacrifice Isaac. We Looked at “Instead of” and we discussed about how Jesus Died instead of Us, and for someone to Say They need to Work to get to Heaven i.e. Need to be Good, then they are saying Jesus Death on the Cross wasn’t enough. Like for instance when they substitute a Football Player, does the Player that’s supposed to come off the Pitch say, “Awk No, I think I’ll stay on and ‘Help’ my Substitute” No that Player comes off the Pitch and the Substitute Player takes his place. Like Jesus took our Place on the Cross at Calvary! NOTHING Can be done to get ourselves to Heaven! Its impossible for us to work our way to heaven, sadly some Religions and Denomination teach that you need to be Good Enough to get to Heaven. If you’re a Bad Person you go to Hell and if you’re a Good Person you go to Heaven. Sadly, it does not work that way and you will never be good enough or Work hard enough to get to heaven, Ephesians 2:8-9 says: For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. So, for ANYONE to say Good Works or Being Good Enough gets you to Heaven is TOTAL Blasphemy! So that’s what we discussed today at my Saturday Morning Meet-up. Tomorrow its my turn to teach the Senior Bible Class at Roseyards about Mental Health. This is Why Alan may be Coming Next Sunday, as he works in Mental Health Christian Ministry called Revive Mental Health Christian Ministry.
