tbh i will always find it more fun and admirable when a franchise owns it’s “cringey” history and tries to build on it and make it work rather than shit on it or pretend it doesn’t exist.
#saying as someone who has a guilty pleasure for 06’s shitty story#rosa said kingdom valley and sunset heights were the best levels in shadow gens and i cant express how happy that makes me#really the original gens honoring 06 and silver was a miracle given silvers terrible rep in the fandom at the time#and they had already started to do their ‘’ha ha sonic is CRINGE and we KNOW IT!! we’re just a dumbass meme franchise hehee!!’’#schtick in colors and the games after this#like it was very irony poisoned. so gens was appealing bc it was all about honoring and loving sonics history#and this remake feels even stronger bc we’re out of that irony poisoned era for the devs#and we’re honoring even MORE of the ‘’cringe’’ history and doing interesting stuff with it!!#echoed voice
