Today I present 10 of my favorite albums. A favorite album for me is an album I’m happy and willing and excited to listen to from beginning to end without skipping any songs. The only artist on here more than once is Meat Loaf. I’ll listen to all Meat Loaf albums without skipping any songs. There is no Billy Joel on this list because Ive posted all of his albums several times. This is not a list of my top 10 favorite albums it’s just 10 albums I love. I pick a favorite track and least favorite track from each album but that doesn’t mean I hate those songs I still love and listen to them. These are not in any particular order.
1. How Do You Like Me Now?! - Toby Keith
Released: November 1999
This is the only Toby Keith album I listen to from beginning to end. I love every song on this album and it’s his best work. We own this album on cassette and CD. This album does not contain my favorite Toby Keith song.
Favorite Track: Die With Your Boots On
Least Favorite Track: Hold You, Kiss You, Love You
2. Come on Over - Shania Twain
Released: November 1997
This is another album we own on cassette and CD and it’s peak Shania Twain. So many of her best known songs come from this album. My favorite song from this album is my favorite Shania Twain song. It’s an underrated song but I love it.
Favorite Track: When
Least Favorite Track: I Won’t Leave You Lonely
3. Couldn’t Have Said It Better - Meat Loaf
Released: April 2003
This is such an underrated album. It’s not available on streaming or the iTunes Store (it used to be). Which is a shame because it doesn’t give enough people a chance to discover it. This is some of his best work. You can find the entire album uploaded on YouTube. I recommend it. My favorite Meat Loaf song is not on this album.
Favorite Track: Man of Steel
Least Favorite Track: Did I Say That?
4. Welcome to the Freakshow - Hinder
Released: December 2012
This is my favorite Hinder album. There’s something in the lyrics and the music is just magic. It was the last album they made with their previous lead singer and his voice is part of the magic for me. My favorite Hinder song is my favorite track on this album.
Favorite Track: I Don’t Wanna Believe
Least Favorite Track: Save Me
5. Ropin the Wind - Garth Brooks
Released: September 1991
This is my favorite Garth Brooks album. It’s the only one I listen to beginning to end somewhat regularly. I think it’s available on Amazon Music but I use Spotify for streaming and it’s not available there. I do have Garth’s music in my personal iTunes library and that’s how I listen to it when I want to. My favorite Garth song is not on this album.
Favorite Track: Burning Bridges
Least Favorite Track: Shameless
Sorry don’t have a link for this one.
6. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge - My Chemical Romance
Released: June 2004
I was obsessed with MCR when I was in high school. This is my favorite MCR album. This was one of the first albums I bought for myself on CD. This was not the first album I heard from MCR but it’s the first one I connected with and I think the music videos connected to this album are really good. My favorite MCR song is not on this album.
Favorite Track: I’m Not Okay (I Promise)
Least Favorite Track: Hang ‘Em High
7. Hotel California - Eagles
Released: December 1976
This is the only Eagles album I listen to in its entirety. Sometimes I feel it’s a little overrated and obvious to pick as my favorite album by them but it’s the only one where I think every song is worthy of regularly listening to. My favorite Eagles song is not on this album.
Favorite Track: New Kid in Town
Least Favorite Track: Pretty Maids All in a Row
8. Brand New Eyes - Paramore
Released: September 2009
Paramore was one of my favorite bands in high school. I don’t listen to Paramore as much these days but every now and then I give this album a listen. This one’s just really relatable to me. I connect with the lyrics and love to sing along to this one. I’m not actually sure what my overall favorite Paramore song is.
Favorite Track: Playing God
Least Favorite Track: Careful
9. Midnight at the Lost and Found - Meat Loaf
Released: April 1983
I was obsessed with Meat Loaf in 2006/2007 and this is one of three albums we owned on cassette so I learned it. This is not a popular Meat Loaf album and I don’t think people give it a chance because it’s not like his more popular albums. It’s not the best Meat Loaf album but I don’t think it gets enough credit. I think it’s a fun album and I listen to it regularly.
Favorite Track: Priscilla
Least Favorite Track: The Promise Land
10. Metamorphosis - Hilary Duff
Released: August 2003
When this album was released it was one of the few non country albums I would listen to. When I was younger I only wanted to listen to country music (that changed in a big way around 2006) but I was a big fan of Hilary Duff. I watched Lizzie McGuire and listen to all of Hilary Duff’s albums as they came out. This is maybe my favorite Hilary Duff album. I don’t know what my favorite overall Hilary Duff song is.
Favorite Track: So Yesterday
Least Favorite Track: Love Just Is

This magical time of which I’ve spoken with great fondness over the years didn’t get off to the best start. Def Leppard guitarist Steve Clark died on January 8 from a lethal mix of alcohol and prescription drugs at the young age of 30, and three people were crushed to death during an AC/DC concert in Salt Lake City just 10 days later. But things did improve.
Along with the above-mentioned classics, an overabundance of bangers were released throughout ’91, not least including Fly Me Courageous by Drivin N Cryin, 1916 by Motörhead, Doubt by Jesus Jones, Innuendo by Queen (Freddie Mercury’s farewell), The White Room by The KLF, Heart in Motion by Amy Grant (laugh if you want), Out of Time by R.E.M., Arise by Sepultura, Mama Said by Lenny Kravitz, Temple of the Dog’s only album (featuring members of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden), Power of Love by Luther Vandross, Schubert Dip by EMF, De La Soul Is Dead by De La Soul, Don't Rock the Jukebox by Alan Jackson, Spellbound by Paula Abdul (laugh if you want), Gish by The Smashing Pumpkins, Slave to the Grind by Skid Row, Superstition by Siouxsie and the Banshees, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge by Van Halen, Into the Great Wide Open by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Of the Heart, of the Soul and of the Cross: The Utopian Experience by P.M. Dawn, Brand New Man by Brooks & Dunn, Cypress Hill’s eponymous debut, Psychotic Supper by Tesla, Ropin' the Wind by Garth Brooks, No More Tears by Ozzy Osbourne, Emotions by Mariah Carey, Ceremony by The Cult, The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest, Diamonds and Pearls by Prince & The New Power Generation, Whenever We Wanted by John Mellencamp, Loveless by My Bloody Valentine, Achtung Baby by U2, and Dangerous by Michael Jackson.
And I probably left some out.

🎶✨when you get this you have to put 5 songs you actually listen to, publish, then send this ask/tag your favourite followers (non-negotiable, positivity is cool) 🎶✨
I. Literally anything off Operation: Mindcrime by Queensryche. I have been a fan of the original band for over 35 years, and most of their music is as relevant today as it was back then. This has also had a huge impact on my writing. {{I will say the same for Rage for Order and Empire}}. If I have to choose only ONE song of Mindcrime, I'll say "Speak".
II. Cry Little Sister. Whether this is the original by Gerard McMann, by Marilyn Manson, by Carfax Abbey...it doesn't matter, I love this with all my soul.
III. I have never apologised for being a Texan {though Lord knows I need to go home and fix my state} and that I am, deep in my own heart, an educated Redneck. And yes, I know he's from Oklahoma. He can be forgiven. I am pretty sure that I can still ten-step to Rodeo, by Garth Brooks. {I recommend: Ropin' the Wind, No Fences, The Chase, In Pieces, and Fresh Horses. All those albums are great.}}
IV. For reasons "lately" {a few years now}, these two come up a good deal: Valhala Calling by Miracle of Sound ft Peyton Parrish and My Mother Told Me.
V. I love the original Old Town Road by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus, but I also desperately love the Jonathan Young cover.
Bonus track: "....for so long as a hundred of us are left alive, we will yield in no least way.."
~*~ Tagged by: my darling @lokitheliesmith Tagging: People who are, today, twelve cups of coffee in a trench-coat.
#Turtle Music#True Story...the Bonus track is both my phone's standard ring tone and also my alarm in the morning.

"Wild Child - Cow Girl"
I'm a wild child, livin' free and wild,
from east to west, I travel a mile.
I'm like the wind and just can't be tamed,
nothing can stop me, l'm off the range!
Ridin' from dawn until sunset's come,
the distant horizon is where I'm from.
Lookin' down from up on the mountains high,
my day's what I make it, the sky's the limit, I'll try!
I'm the gun- slingers daughter, who wears her crown,
on a stallion horse and i gallop from town to town.
I'm fierce and proud, an angel of the wild,
the cowboy's queen, the saloon slut child!
I'm a rebel and proud, I won't bow down low,
i'm aiming to reach my very highest goal.
being strong-willed and brave, with great determination,
I pursue my whorish ambitions, no matter what the competition.
I'm living the cowboy ranchers life, ridin' tough
with spurs and hat, I sure feel rough.
Wearin' my boots of leather, so reddish-brown,
rid-in' up and down, semi naked and into town!
Boots in the muck , no more being hurt,
i'm resilient, I can shake off the dirt...
I find strength in the cattle heading duty,
no faltering, no matter how hard?
On Rodeo days, I always feel up for it and so alive...
a sexily dressed cowgirl out to have some fun.
Ropin' horses, turning hombre heads, trying to survive,
Wearin' "come-on" smiles in drinking bar dives.
Confident and proud, i'm pushing the line,
above the competition I'll always shine.
The world is my oyster, and there's no disputing'
I shed ranch-hands randomly, i'm not one, for cow-towing.

❝ oh , no no . no spanish for me , i'm afraid . i can barely speak english as it is . you give me a word or two in spanish to pronounce , i promise , you gonna end up gettin' me locked up the rest'a my life for sayin' somethin' vulgar . ❞ he would be the first on the chopping block , out for the count , in terms of speaking or understanding a thing . jack's mind has always been a great deal more flexible than arthur's , and younger on top of it . there's no wonder jack has taken to learning an entirely new language in all these years past . ❝ you'd be wastin' your effort on me . what's that sayin' ? you can't teach an ol' dog new tricks ? well , i'm one'a them old dogs , and i'm afraid my trick-learnin' days are over . ❞
even moreso , he thinks , as a cough winds its way through his lungs and stuffs itself up his throat , nowadays . he isn't even in much of a shape to learn how to live worth a damn anymore . several times , he's considered just how little use he is . to himself , to jack … and that , their greatest misfortune : that they are the only ones left . misfortune , but also a grounding point for arthur . he doesn't know how he's here , and doesn't care to ask , but to leave jack alone again would surely send him lower than the hell he's destined for .
❝ but i'd like t'see what else you got tucked in that sleeve'a yours . the … flor … ea de … rr … ❞ he clears his throat . ❝ trick ropin' ? you gonna have to show me what that is , 'cause i wanna know whatchu do with that . you ropin' horses ? ❞
"So... We both agree we'd be dead men, right?" If there was anything that John and Jack as well as Arthur Morgan feared, it was Abigail Marston's wrath. There was a reason why John had made a point to change his ways, it was love of course, but also the fear of Abigail kicking him for the shit he did. Jack remembers when his Pa returned home, Abigail had been furious before he explained things. Good times indeed. Jack had to force himself to return to the present. He was pleased that Arthur's skin had more color on it, it meant he was getting better, and that was enough to brighten Jack's day.
Jack was sure that Arthur would get better faster if they could go down South, maybe to the plains of Chihuahua or the Sonora Desert down in Baja California. But Jack had a duty to care for Beecher's. Sure, he could never bring back his family, but he could at least take care of the ranch, make it a hell of a thing like his Pa wanted, write a book like his Ma suggested and spit on Ross' grave one last time. It was the small things that brightened his day.
"Well, it has been a while, Uncle Arthur. I ain't a young boy no more." His left hand rests on the buckle of John's old gunbelt, now his, and he shrugs. He never really paid much mind to his age, but Arthur knew him as a kid, he knew more. Jack ate up the praise, he squared his shoulders, stood taller even. "I can teach ya Spanish if you'd like, Uncle Arthur. I got a friend down there, Agustin, he taught me Spanish, and he said I speak it real well. For a gringo, I mean."
He didn't mind being called a gringo. The people of Hidalgo rarely used it as an insult with him, they'd come to appreciate the young gunslinger. On others? Oh sure, but not with Jack. Well... Not always. "Oh sure! I got a few more tricks! Mostly involvin' a lasso, so they ain't too useful for horse ridin', but they're fun. They call it 'Floreo de Reata' in Mexico. Trick Roping for us."
