the problem with father brown is that i love it so much as a show on the whole, but mrs mccarthy reminds me so much of my hypocritical, gossipy, often racist, and emotionally abusive "good christian" grandmother that i have to steel myself every time she's a large part of the episode. evil evil church ladies
