Fitz starts the trend because he's a bored, borderline insomniac and finds the whole thing cute. By five in the morning, he has posted the first "my mom and dad at 30//me at 30" and by eight that same night, every single dagger has posted the same thing with just some variation in the age.

Nobody expectes Bradley to post anything, especially because they know both his mother and father barely reached their thirties. But then the notification that he has published something comes up to every daggers' phone and what it comes out is not what they were expecting. There are fifteen photos and the description says "dad at 35//pops at 35//me at 35" and it's a gallery of a young Admiral Kazansky and Captain Mitchell holding a toddler between their arms and then it's the picture of a calendar with all the activities written there and then there's Admiral Kazansky and Captain Mitchell dancing in a living room with Bradley at the piano. And then, and then.

Fourteen pictures of a family they didn't know existed, and Bradley himself tried to forget about it. And one, a video more than a photo, of adult Bradley singing and playing the piano in a room similar to the one in the photos with two older men dancing in the middle of it with Bradley murmuring a "dads could you stop being so embarass-" before the video is cut short

I wish I had digital art skills because I'm haunted by The Primes' Rooster AU, such as:

The sheer hungry look by Liege Maximo licking up the mess upon Sentinel's thighs and pressing his mouth on the most perplexing valve anyone as come across.

A well-bitten Solus smoking a cigarette in the berth, a contented and well-bedded Megatronus next to her slipping on a nice drink through a straw, and Megatronus is sharing that with a slightly dented Sentinel who's between them and has his own super curly straw to sip the cocktail.

Quintus' labs with the Prime recording the procedures. A serious face in one frame, then a "Oh, someone's (it's Sentinel. He has permission to get inside and Quintus is too deep in Science to realize there's another person there.) messing with my valve. On one hand, pre-betrayal discovery is Rooster!Sentinel slinging the Cogless versions of two of his sons/grandsons over his shoulders. On the other hand, post-betrayal discovery is Sentinel versus Sentinel. D-16 won't bow before the false Prime, but he'll lower his face because of the resulting selfcest and the filthy, filthy commentary on Megatronus' (his hero's) sexual preferences. (The High Guard peanut gallery chiming in over Megatronus' getting his back blown by Solus and/or Prima.)

The cockatrice can be found in a wide range of habitats, from temperate forests to grassy planes. These raptors are apex predators though pose little threat to humans. 

Despite the surrounding myth, the cockatrice does not collect toads in order to hatch it’s eggs but as protection. Once the female has completed building her nest mound, which is a collection of dirt and surrounding debris, she will dig a hole and lay her clutch of eggs. Once laid, she will abandon the brood, leaving the male to finish the task. 

From there, the cockatrice male will begin harding toads. (Venomous snakes have also been spotted in nests as well.) Careful not to kill them, the cockatrice will aggravate, shake violently and bite at the toads in oder to get the toad to secret it’s bufotoxins. Once released, the cockatrice will smear the toxins onto the eggs as best as possible and toss the toad into the nest. For the toads who manage to burrow out from the nest mound, they will do so with their lives. Those unable, will be the baby chicks first meal. Once sealed the male will abandon the brood just the female. Chicks are able to fend for themselves upon hatching.

we all know and love "because someone fucking has to" and "you deserve to be happy, and I hope that you can find that here at camp" and for good reason- but can I share the scene that encapsulates the show for me? what i think is its thesis statement of sorts. I have so many thought on this so bare with me but:

It's from "Cameron Campbell the Camp Campbell Camper" - at the very end when David and Cameron are having their confrontation and Cameron is raving about David chosing a bunch of "bratty children" over him. and David says "That's the job. You really don't get that do you?"

Cameron thinks that because David is his employee, and more then that views Cameron as a father figure - he "owes" him blind obedience. And at that point, Cameron viewed all of the kids at camp as walking representations of their parent's wallets. Cameron doesn't see anyone - but especially not children - as people worthy of respect. Children are just devices through which he makes money. That philosophy includes and has always included David, who's literally been making Cameron money for over a decade as both camper and councilor.

David on the other hand sees things for what they are. It doesn't matter that Max is a troublemaker or that Nurf creates problems or that none of the campers listen to him - at the end of the day they are human beings deserving of care and happiness. David doesn't see children as extensions of their parents, meant to be entirely obedient to adults. Instead he sees them as young individuals who are learning to be alive for the first time and are going through all the trial and error of being a Person. And children being infuriating and disobedient is both understandable and comes with the territory of being an educator/caretaker/parent. Children are "bratty" because so far that's the only way they know how to demand for needs that aren't being met (think: "you have every right to be angry" convo). And THAT'S THE JOB. the job is teaching them how to grow, and communicate, and to make sure they're safe all the while.

as I see it, one of the running themes in the show is "even flawed people deserve a chance at community/redemption/joy." and that's something that David full-heartedly believes. I think he pities Cameron in that moment because he recognizes that Cameron both 1) doesn't see the source of genuine joy David finds in his job, and 2) is incapable of extending grace to kids learning how to be better people. and by extension is incapable of extending that grace to anyone else -including himself. (A realization Cameron later has in "Candy Kingpin") David pities him because Cameron can't see the humanity in children, and also cannot recognize that humanity within himself.

Another thing I also love about this scene is Max's reaction. When Max is upset, he defaults to anger. That's where what he's most comfortable with expressing, that's the feeling most familiar to him. So when he asks David "You seriously feel sorry for this piece of shit? How are you not pissed?" It comes from such a genuine place of concern and sense of injustice. Because in that scene, it wasn't enough that Max outsmarted Cameron. And it wasn't enough that the Millers were already aware of his plans. Max specifically seeks out a reaction from David. He wants - or at the very least expected - David to be angry. This can be read so many ways but the way I see it - this is Max's way of relating to someone, or hoping to. Max often doesn't understand David's POV, but anger is a place where he can meet him at. MAX is angry at Cameron, he can't fathom someone feeling any type of sympathy for him- let alone pity. It almost comes across like Max is angry FOR David in this scene. Because at the end of day, despite all their differences, Max still won't stand for David being unfairly screwed over. But let me know if you see it differently :)

To make a long story short, what I perceive as the "thesis statement" of the show (or at least one of the things I took away from it) is this critique on how parents view children as an extension of themselves rather than their own people. which enables parents to mistreat their children because they have the "right" to - and the antitheses to that being genuine communication and recognizing that you as an adult still have things to learn. even if it's from kids. and it's your job to both listen to and protect them.

Might be controversial opinion, but I don't think either Bradley or Jake would go to Pride?? They just don't seem like the type

Maybe they'd go to an afterparty in a smaller bar or at a friend's place, but not to the actual Big Event or Parade, and they also wouldn't be big for pride flags and pride merch and so on - they would at best have a singular enamel pin (that they might or might not share) or tiny bumper sticker and that's it. Rooster may also have a Hawaiian shirt in the gradient of the bi-flag colors but it's not that noticeable either

Giving the scrungles chao saga

Mephiles's? Sweet babyangel service chao; if they did races Meph would definitely be dancemom manipulative of the other chao handlers just to make them fight, with the chao being none the wiser.

Metal's starts off as a feral little shit that loves to bite; but biting is not very effective on Metal, so oops bro, looks like you have been government assigned a chao (Who eventually warms up to him with the correct combination of ignoring their shenanigans and manhandling them into being socialized. No, we are having a nice day at the beach, you may not go and bite small children)

The third one is for an unpictured different Metal. This one was a rescue and is very shy, but their mommy is very scary with a resting murder face which gives them some more confidence as they grow up. Anyone who messes with this chao would wind up mysteriously missing.

If these were in the game...

Meph's chao would operate like a chaos chao, except it needs higher stats in power and flight.

Metal chao 1 would be neutral/speed/flight with a disproportionate amount of kangaroos and/or bug animals givin to it.

Metal chao 2 would be dark/power/flying, raised primarily on drives and dragons.

It was a rainy day which meant that Rooster had absolutely zero intentions of leaving the house today. It also almost 100% ensured lots of cuddles.

The two of you were tucked up on the couch, Rooster every now and then making sure that the blankets were still covering the two of you fully. He made sure the two of you were buried beneath plenty of stuffies, pillows and blankets keeping you both warm despite the nip of cold from the dreary weather...

The two of you had been watching movies, eating snacks whilst his hand rested in your hair, occasionally lightly scratching at your scalp or running his hand through your hair, your head resting in-between his shoulder and chest.

As time passes, movies are watched and the sky darkens Bradley turned the TV's volume down a little, the current movie playing being no more than light background chatter as you subconsciously focus on the sound of his breathing, the intake and exhale of his calming breaths..

Once he notices your own breathing has evened out he lets his head lightly fall against the top of yours, his eyes closing as he lets himself succumb to sleep too. The only light from the quiet TV as the two of you rest, cuddles together.

Rainy days typically meant staying inside but he always knew how to make it fun still...

After, after, they gave his name to a carrier. The Navy never received so many votes for a single name, but she is brand new, shiny, and bigger than the other carrier. They say it is a she, but they call it USS Thomas J. Kazansky because no other name would fit.

Slider serves on in it the his last few years before retirement, Bradley is there more than he's not and Mav doesn't want to hear that name, see it or even imagine what it looks like. Sarah goes to the launch, and Mav spends the night hugging Tom's pillow and desperately trying to remember the feeling of his husband's arms around him.

I like the concept of Bradley calling Mav dad but realistically I think it'd be... complicated?

I think Mav would acknowledge that he is a parental figure to Bradley when Bradley is young and I think in the right scenario, he'd become okay with occasionally being called Dad --- especially if Carole approved on that and talked to him about it --- but he still wouldn't refer to himself as Dad. I think it'd take him years to get to that point and certain circumstances and even then I think the majority of the time he'd be Bradley's Mav.

(Also, I think all the people who say Bradley would never call him dad because Goose is his dad have never ever met a child that lost a parent at a young age or a child that had a good step parent... As much as I like to think Goose's memory would be cultivated, he's more of a memory than a tangible parent. Simplifying, of course, but yeah...)

I also think that this would be to some extent a point of conflict/mutual but separate angst. Because I feel like Bradley would genuinely see Mav as his father figure and Mav not wanting to be it (through refusal to call himself dad) seems like a big kick in the ribs and will not help his self-worth issues at all, especially combined with the USNA papers fiasco and being told he's not ready (not good enough).

At the same time, Mav could possibly even like being called (and being a) dad, but would feel not only guilty, but like he's betraying Goose's memory. I think there's just something so crushing about the realization that the outcomes/consequences of your best friend's, brother's tragedy are giving you some form of happiness, that you're taking his place and you like it. I think he'd have to forgive himself for what happened with Goose (or finally actually feel like it wasn't his fault) to actually be able to fully acknowledge he became Bradley's dad, and we all know that by the events of TGM, he's far from forgiving himself.

Grown-up Bradley I think would have some kind of blockage from calling Mav dad post-TGM, especially if Mav didn't do it first. I think it'd take him a long time to call Mav dad explicitly and to his face (he'd clumsily say that Mav is his dad to others tho...), just because their relationship would still be fragile and the feelings he had as a little boy didn't really disappear.

Mav, on the other hand, would feel like he failed Bradley and like he didn't deserve to refer to himself in any way as Bradley's dad and father figure even more because (Goose-related guilt aside) he'd be and has been a shitty one. I think it'd take him a long time to realize that Bradley still sees him as such and wants to see him as such, even as an adult.
