 I think a good portion of the hate Rook is getting is cause of some people just forgetting that Rook isn’t an extension of Vil, nor is he his bodyguard, nor his shadow, nor does he kiss his ass. His opinions and character does not revolve entirely around Vil. Not to mention that he’s the twisted version of The Huntsman, it was super obvious that he was gonna ‘betray’ Vil for Neige in some way that mirrors that. Not just by stopping Vil from poisoning him. 

As a side note- can I just say that him actually being a huge Neige simp is  hilarious and I saw it coming a mile away the second that that doe eyed twink got introduced.
