hi i know it's been a while (oops it's 2024 now) but i just gotta say that working on the tokomaru zine reignited my love for these two girls!!! dr:udg might be kinda bad but it did give us tokomaru and the greatest character development in toko, and i was happily rambling on about them to some friends yesterday :) thats always nice

im not sure if i'll ever draw/develop this more, but the idea of a saimomoharu mafia au where kaito's the heir, shuichi is the family's consigliere, and maki is a member-turned-kaito's bodyguard is kinda...at the back of my mind these days. fancy suits, man

not to feel absolutely validated in every sense with regards to how i feel about danganronpa 3 the anime but yeah :) it's just such a shame man. i had a sinking suspicion that dr3 was rushed but i didnt think it was that badly rushed in terms of the time the production team even had to make it, script and design choices and all

distracting myself from work by thinking about Komaru's name being こまる which i really interpreted as little circle/round shape at first but the wiki goes into more detail which i really appreciate

Her first name (as 困る) is Japanese for "to be troubled or worried".

Toko's nickname for her (as 御虎子) mean "potty".

Komaru's name is written in hiragana, but can also be written in kanji as 小丸, meaning "little and perfect". The character 丸 is also the second kanji in the word 弾丸 dangan, which means "bullet". Thus, it could be that Komaru's name is meant to imply at her relation to Makoto, who is the first character in the series to utilize "Truth Bullets".

It's so apt that I am watching NezumiVA's drv3 retrospective video cause Shuichi's birthday is today and seeing nezumi talk about Shuichi and Kaito's budding friendship with Maki coming in later (and how she and Shuichi make for a great duo in chp 3 too) is reigniting my feelings for them all ;w; happy birthday to my favourite virgo boy!!!!!!

With paramore’s new album out ive just been relistening to crushcrushcrush (one of their first songs i loved as a kid) and tonight i have the revelation that the lyrics are kinda saiouma core

especially “they taped over your mouth/ scribbled out the truth/ with your lies” and “if you wanna play it like a game/ well come on come on let’s play/ cause I’d rather waste my life pretending/ than have to forget you for one whole minute”

ALSO ITS JUST A REALLY GOOD SONG and i think it would be a pretty neat slightly angsty mostly rock-y saiouma mv idea and like. I havent found anyone else talking about this cause this song is old now (2007). But it’s still so good i mean cmon
