Don't Worry Mama (Request)
heyyyyy. Can you make a story which happened in age of ultron specifically in the scene where wanda messed up their head and they went to clint's house. Y/n is nat and steve's secret daughter, about 5yo (nat didn't go through graduation ceremony) and they both know about clint's family as y/n is staying with the bartons. At first y/n is happy to see her parents again and some other time, she notices that her parents mind always off and she asks them what happened. Y/n learned the truth about her parents' past and she comforts them (the fluffiest the better )
Warnings: There's one somewhere but I just haven't found it yet.
Age: 5
Word Count: 1,238
Requests: Open
Summary: Read the request and it will explain everything
Requested by: Wattpad User
Date: 03/06/2024
Paring: Natasha and Steve
A/N: Thank you for your request I hope that you like it. The story might not be the best, especially since it's the first time in months that I've written anything but I hope that it's still somewhat good.
---⧗---
The mission had left everyone shaken up from the unpleasant experiences of one of the Maximoff twin's abilities.
The journey to the safe house was spent in silence while everyone sat remembering what they were forced to witness.
After the Quinjet had landed they made the short walk to the house. Tony and Thor were asking questions about what this place was and Steve had his arms around Natasha keeping her upright while they walked.
"Honey, I'm home," Clint called out as he walked in the house and into the living room while the Avengers followed close behind.
A woman appeared who (not making assumptions) looked heavily pregnant from around the corner and made her way over to Clint
While Clint greeted the woman Tony and Thor were all confused about who she was whereas Bruce who just standing off to the side looking awkward and uncomfortable and Steve and Natasha gave off the impression that they somehow already knew who she was.
"Gentleman, this is my wife, Laura," Clint said.
Before anyone could say anything else the sound of running footsteps could be heard getting closer and closer. Two young children came running into the room and a third one followed seconds later.
"Daddy!" the two children shouted and ran over to Clint giving them hugs whereas the other child stood slightly away from them. The young girl looked different from the other two, they both had dark brown hair whereas she had ginger hair.
"Did you bring Mama and Dada?" The young girl asked. She didn't think to look around first because most of the time Clint came home without her parents they had to stay wherever they were to finish completing their tasks before they were allowed to come home.
"Why don't you hug them and find out?" Natasha said moving closer so her secret daughter could see her.
A large smile appeared on the young girl's face as she rushed towards Natasha, who picked her up in her arms and hugged her tightly. Steve came closer to them, put his hand on the back of her head and kissed her cheek.
Tony looked at the three of them even more confused than before. "How did I not know about this? Did anyone else know about this?"
---⧗---
As the sun set and the dark began to take over Natasha was sitting on the bed while Steve was in the bathroom finished helping their daughter get ready for bed. While Natasha was waiting she couldn't stop the horrible memories from replaying over and over in her head of what she was made to see.
Natasha suddenly came back to reality as felt small tugs on her pyjama pants. She looked down she saw her young daughter struggling to climb up onto the bed. Natasha picked her up and placed her onto her lap then wrapped her arms around her waist and gently rested her cheek on the top of the young girl's head.
Steve walked out of the bathroom and sat down on the bed next to his wife and daughter.
"Are you okay?" He asked Natasha as he placed his hand on her knee and gently stroked it with his thumb.
"I'm fine." She replied giving him a soft smile.
But, of course, she wasn't fine but by saying she wasn't she would have to explain why not and she really didn't want to talk about it.
Steve also knew that she wasn't but he didn't pry he knew better not to he just hoped that being back with their little girl in a safe place would be exactly what she needed to make her feel more herself again.
The young girl knew that something was wrong. Her parents especially her mom have been acting differently from the moment they reunited.
"Why are you sad Mama?" She asked turning herself around slightly so she could look at her mom.
"How do you know that I'm sad baby?" Natasha said as she tucked her daughter's hair behind her ear.
"Cause you're not happy." The young girl said.
Natasha let out a quiet chuckle at her daughter's response. "It's just work Y/N, baby, nothing to worry about."
"What happened?" Y/N asked resting her head on her mama's chest. "It can't be the bad guys 'cause you're good at stopping them, Mama."
"Am I good at stopping bad guys?" Steve asked his daughter trying to distract her from the original conversation so Natasha wouldn't have to talk about it, especially to a 5-year-old.
The young girl thought for a second and when the answer came into her mind a cheeky grin appeared on her face "Yes, but not as good as Mama." Then she started giggling.
Steve let out a gasp "What?" he asked then started tickling her.
"That's my girl," Natasha said tightly hugging her daughter and kissing the top of her head.
After Y/N had calmed down from laughing Steve had hoped that she would have forgotten the whole conversation but she hadn't she went straight back to asking questions. "So if not the bad guys then what is it?" Y/N asked
"Just something that Mama got made to see." Natasha told her knowing fine well that Y/N would ask more questions. "it's bedtime little miss."
Steve stood up and lifted Y/N off Natasha's lap. "I'm not tired Daddy." She said.
"Yes, you are." Steve then dropped Y/N onto the bed and she started laughing as landed on the bed and bounced slightly.
"Again." Y/N giggled raising her hands into the air.
"No," Steve said pulling the covers back.
As Y/N moved herself in the middle of the bed her parents got in at either side of her.
Once everyone was settled and the light was turned off Y/N let out a big sigh.
"What's wrong sweetheart?" Natasha asked.
"When I'm sad you ask me about it then you give me cuddles to me better but I can't give you cuddles till after you tell me," Y/N explained.
Natasha sighed. She knew that Y/N wouldn't let it go till she was told. "Okay Y/N if I tell you then will you go to sleep?"
"Yes, mama I promise," Y/N said.
Y/N cuddled in closely to her mother getting ready to listen to her.
Natasha started to explain very, very briefly without going into too much detail that would frighten the young girl about what happened during their later mission and about her past.
After Natasha had finished, Y/N climbed on top of her and laid down on her then Natasha hugged her daughter tightly.
"Don't worry Mama me and Daddy will protect you. We won't let those bad people hurt you again." Y/N said.
Steve moved over closer towards his wife and daughter and put his arms around them pulling them in close. "That right, hon, we'll protect your Mama always."
"Right, baby girl, it's sleep time now," Natasha said gently stroking her daughter's back.
For the first time since Natasha and Steve returned, Y/N had been silent.
"Is she sleeping?" Natasha whispered to Steve.
Steve carefully moved the hair out of Y/N's face and her eyes were closed. "Yes she is," he whispered back.
Steve moved over slightly and gently lifted up Y/N from Natasha and placed her back down on the bed.
"Sweet dreams baby," Natasha said softly then kissed her daughter's head.
"Night, babe," Steve whispered.
"Night, honey," Natasha mumbled back.

🎀 — STUCKYWIDOW
Stuckywindow(Steve Rogers, James 'Bucky' Barnes, and Natasha Romanoff) Child content:)
FYI: THIS ISNT RELATED TO ANY POLITICS.
STUCKYWIDOW • Who has a son, somehow managing to have all their DNA's together, when the husbands asked Tony about it he examined the situation and it's something to do with the supersoldier serum.
STUCKYWIDOW • Where Natasha always shoves it in her husband's face, especially Steve's that their son knows more Russian than English. (he's 2 and has absolutely no idea what the translation of water in English is.)
STUCKYWIDOW • Where their son is so incredibly strong at just the age of 6 months old because of his dad's that he once broke Peter's finger with his grip. (The baby thought it was a game)
STUCKYWIDOW • Where their child is naturally stealthy, agile and fast that when you take one second off of them, they're suddenly across the house.
STUCKYWIDOW • Where Natasha's husbands were forced to learn Russian cause of their kid.
STUCKYWIDOW • Where Steve went through the five stages of grief knowing his kid prefers Russian over America (🦅🦅🦅🔫🔫🔫🇺🇸 RAHHH)
STUCKYWIDOW • Where the kid, who just started kindergarten gets treated differently because of his accent, and because he can't properly speak English. Even most of the teachers don't like him cause they think of him as a communist:(.
STUCKYWIDOW • Where Steve doesn't take any of their bullshit and gives the parents, teachers, staff members a reality check that just because his son is Russian doesn't mean he's automatically a communist.
STUCKYWINDOW • Where Natasha always finds her boys getting into trouble. Whether it be her husbands teaching their 4 year old son to handle a gun(mostly Bucky's idea) or her son accidentally sinking his dad's mental arm into the bottom of the deep pool.
STUCKYWIDOW • Where their son is honestly so fearless (a dare devil) that he started breaking bones at the age of 2.
STUCKYWIDOW THAT NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS THEY'LL ALWAYS LOVE THEIR BABY BOY<3

The freshly wetted grass squished underneath his boots with each and every step. His shoulders were slacked, but his wrists were tense as he held the delicate bouquet with both of his hands. He was always nervous to be here, even though he’s done it so many times after finding it, the nervousness never went away. The nausea never stopped too… or the guilt… the fear… the sadness. Nothing ever stopped like he so desperately wanted to. Was this a curse he was stuck with for helping to bring another child into this cruel world?
He reaches the end of his line, just a few short inches away from where his toes could touch the stone; The stone etched with words and numbers that made his heart ache. And when his knees felt weak he lowered himself to the ground, sitting back on his heels. With a bittersweet expression on his features, he removes the old lilies and replaces them with your favorite, pearly white ones. The ones you always smelled like when you came back from playing in the park. Who knew he would miss such a fragrance?
He takes a deep inhale through his nose, and exhales quietly, gathering his thoughts. “Hey, baby girl. It’s been some… time since I’ve visited. I honestly thought I should wait until your half birthday, but…” He trails off, frowning. “But uh, I’m heading off on another mission tomorrow, a… potentially dangerous one.” He chuckles dryly. “You know the deal with those.”
He pauses like he’s waiting for your answer he knows he won’t get, letting the hot summer wind touch his face and through his chocolate locks. He waited for that as his cue to continue on.
“Uh… so…”
It hurts to even think about it.
“I was just…”
Should he even say it?
“Wondering again if it goes south I can…”
Should he repeat what he always says to your grave?
“Be next to you?”
Another pause, this time it felt more painful. It always hurts to be here. It always hurts to say those words because it wasn’t like he had a death wish, it wasn’t like he was afraid of death, he just… didn’t know if he deserved to be next to you. You were his whole world and he fucked it up. Fucked it up so bad that it makes him more anxious to want to hold you, and hug you, and kiss you, and just talk to you. He loves you.
He’s loved you since the very beginning.
.
.
.
Bucky would have fallen back in shock if it wasn’t for the small bundle in his arms. His ex-girlfriend had just said some words that he didn’t need to hear right now. Couldn’t even comprehend it.
No, it wasn’t, ‘Can we get back together? I made a mistake’.
No, It wasn’t, ‘The baby isn’t yours’.
No it was–
“What do you mean you’re leaving?” He asked, disbelief etched in his words. There was also an underlying sense of anger and betrayal, because–
She couldn’t be serious...
Right?
He watched the woman standing in front of him roll her eyes, snatching her purse from his living room’s couch while responding, “I don’t want her. I only had her because you wanted to keep the baby after finding out I was pregnant.”
He nearly doubled over when he heard the disgust in her voice. “So you’re just going to leave?” Bucky asked, seeing his ex now putting on her winter coat. “But our daughter needs a mother figu–”
“YOUR daughter.” His ex snapped, poison on her tongue. “That baby–” She points furiously. “That baby is a spitting image of you. All the way from the shape of her face to the way she smiles. Everything. Which is fine by me, I don’t want someone looking like me out in the world.”
Bucky opened his mouth to speak as he followed her behind as she walked towards the front door. Unfortunately, she beats him to it. “As for a mother figure, you’ve got three sisters and a mom. That baby can pick up skills from them.”
She swings the door open, letting in the cold breeze of February. Snowflakes flew in, sticking to her clothes and curly hair. Bucky immediately stood sideways and drew you as far away as he could from the freezing air.
(Was she trying to freeze you?!)
“Dottie!” He called out from the doorway, stopping her on the porch.
She wasn’t even going to look back at him, wasn’t she? Or even look at you? Did she truly not feel anything?
He doesn’t know why but his voice cracked, and although he and his ex’s relationship was always rocky, and they both knew that whatever was between them wasn’t going to work out, he still doesn’t want her to leave him alone with a one week old.
“Come on…” He continued, quietly. “At least stay for a couple months until I can do this on my own.” His lower lip quivered slightly. “Please?”
He felt you shift a bit in his arms, probably from the weather, and waited for her to turn around…
But she never did.
“Goodbye, James.” Dottie said, before trailing across the snow covered path to the sidewalk.
Bucky watches her disappear into the night, his feet glued to the floor even when part of his mind told him to run after her. It would be a lie if he said that he didn’t want to go after her, thinking that maybe she’ll change her mind if actually begs, but the mere thought went out the door when you started to get fussy and cry.
Something deep within him kicked in, probably that parental instincts he’s heard about from his own parents, and all his attention was turned to you cradled in a lilac colored blanket.
“Hey…” He whispered, readjust his hold so that he could gently brush their–
No.
That’s officially gone out the window.
It’s just his daughter. His.
He readjust his hold so that he could gently brush HIS daughter’s cheek. To brush your cheek like a soft paint brush across a canvas. “Hey. Don’t cry.” He says, soothingly.
He makes a soft shushing sound as he closes the front door with his hip, before carefully guiding himself to sit near the fireplace. He lays you cautiously in his lap, almost in awe as he sees your eyes peeking open for the first time.
(Y/E/C) eyes.
So beautiful like the world itself. He almost wanted to start taking pictures.
Maybe later though.
He chuckles sadly, tears in his own as he brushes your cheeks again. “Don’t cry. Don’t cry, I got you.” He said, smiling down. “I got you, baby girl.”
You cooed quietly, staring back at him with a bit of curiosity. The look you were giving him melted his heart, but it also made him feel like he didn’t deserve any of this.
“I’m sorry…”  He croaks, sniffling. “It looks like it’s just going to be me and you, doll. I’m so sorry. I hope you can forgive me.”
You made the cute sounds that took his breath away again, taking up his whole surroundings. However, if it wasn’t for his military training, he probably wouldn’t have even heard someone tumbling down the stairs. Bucky glances at the living room entrance, finding a certain skinny blond that he called his best friend. He saw his chest move slightly, and could almost hear him panting from here.
“S-Sorry.” Steve exhales, leaning against the door frame. “Your mom sent me down here when we heard everything go quiet.”
Bucky smiled a little. “She got worried?”
Steve copies him with a chuckle.  “Yeah. She wanted to make sure you hadn’t run off with her grandchild.”
The brunette shakes his head. “That sounds like my mother.” He turns his attention back on you, but from the corner of his eye he could see his friend shifting uncomfortably, almost hesitantly, in his spot. His smile grows. “Come here.”
“What?” The blond said, genuinely confused.
“Come here, Steve. You can see her.”
He stiffens up a bit, looking unsure. “H-Her… A-Are you… are you sure?” Steve asked, pointing towards the stairs in the hallway. “I-I shouldn’t be the one seeing your baby first. Shouldn’t I–”
“Get your ass over here, Rogers.” Bucky said, almost wishing he could free his hand up and drag him by the ear (he was always so timid and too cautious sometimes).
Not even daring to question his best friend’s wish, Steve wandered over and took a seat on the couch next to Bucky. He leans in close, examining the small bundle in the soldier’s arms.
Steve’s big blue eyes lit up with joy. “Wow, Buck. She’s adorable.” He said, as you scrunch up your nose to show off your cute, chubby cheeks.
“She is.” Bucky said, fighting back the stinging sensation in his eyes again. He now wonders…
(Is this what it's going to feel like all the time now?)
After a moment of silence, Bucky threw his friend through another loop. “Wanna hold her?”
Steve held his hands up in defense almost immediately after those words left his tongue. “Oh, no. I shouldn’t.”
“I trust you.” Bucky holds you out a little, a reassuring look on his face.
Steve raises a cautious eyebrow. “You sure?”
“Yes.” Bucky laughs. “I’ll show you.”
Bucky then takes his time showing Steve how to hold you, giving him pointers and readjusting everyone once and awhile until he has you in a good position. The blond’s nerves seemed to vanish into thin air when he started to see that you were looking at him with the same curious eyes you made at your father. Those eyes of yours could melt anyone’s hard shells at this point.
Steve chuckles, and grins as he gets butterflies in his stomach from you. “What’s her name?” He asks, sparing a glance at your dad for a split second. “Did Dottie ever give her one?”
Bucky shakes his head sadly. “No.” He said, his voice feeling rather small at the moment. “No she didn’t. I’m tasked with giving her one.”
“Have you thought of any? I know you were looking through some books a few weeks back.”
“I have and I think…” He takes another good look at you, making sure the name was the right choice. “I was thinking… (Y/N).”
“(Y/N)?” The blond repeats back, testing it out like an echo chamber for his friend who nodded back.
“Yeah. (Y/N).” Bucky tests it out his lips as other names start to form. “(Y/N)... Stevie Barnes.”
He looks up in surprise. “Stevie?” Steve asks in disbelief again.
Bucky smiles. “Well, I heard Stevie is the girl version of Steve, so…”
“But…” His blue eyes look away again, looking completely torn.
Your father raises an eyebrow over this. “But what?”
“You’re flattering me way too much, Bucky.”
“Am I?” Bucky asked, tilting his head, slightly puzzled.
“Y-Yes!” Steve said, shaking his head. “Y-You can’t– You shouldn’t name your kid after me.”
Now it was his turn to be even more confused. “Why not?”
“Because, I’m– y-you have sisters! Parents. Y-You should name her after them. Not me.”
“But, Steve, you’re my brother. Besides…” Bucky shifted in his seat, knowing what he’ll say next is touchy. “I know… the doctor said you might not be able to have kids so… think of this as me… giving you a small piece of that.”
Silence befell, the subject was something that really hurt Steve when he heard it the first time; Hell, it even hurt his mother who was present at the time. It kind of haunted him for a while because what could he offer to a person who wanted to share his life?
Steve stares at him for a while before tearing up, laughing quietly and looking away. “Jesus, Bucky. You’re making me cry.”
A chuckle. “Well don’t, ‘cause I’ll start crying again.” Bucky says, making them belly laugh.
The blond sniffles and tests the name out on his own. “(Y/N) Stevie Barnes.” He looks back down at you, his smile returning fully. “Not bad, Buck.”
Your father looked at him teasingly. “And what’s that supposed to mean, Steven?”
“Nothing.” Steve replies, holding back another laugh as he watches you start to drift back to sleep. “I’m really happy for you, man.”
“Thanks.”
A few moments more passed before you were carefully placed back in your father’s arms, where all he did was stare back at you as you pulled yourself to sleep. His happy face started to falter, and there was a heavy amount of doubt in his ocean blue orbs.
“I don’t know what I’m going to do, Steve.” He finally admits before swallowing the lump in his throat. He soon felt his friend’s hand on his leg, giving it a comforting squeeze.
“You don’t have to do this alone, Bucky. You’ve got your family and you’ve got me.” Steve said, honestly. “And you know this. However, don’t doubt yourself, you got this. You’re going to be a great dad.”
Bucky’s lip curled up a bit, not caring that he was about to cry again. “Steve Rogers. The man who always knows what to say.”
“What can I say? I try.” He asked, coping with his expression.
“And you think I’ll be great? Even with me being a soldier and everything else that comes with it?” Your father asked, doubt was still just lingering on the surface no matter what he did.
Steve gives another gentle squeeze. “I know you’ll be great. I know you’ll do anything to make sure she’ll be okay. So don’t worry too much, okay? (Y/N)’s going to be lucky she has you.”
Bucky hums, truly grateful for a friend like him.
And without an ounce of hesitation, he bends down slowly and kisses your sleeping forehead.
“I already loved you so much, (Y/N). I hope you realize that.” He whispers, lovingly. “And I’ll do anything to make sure you’re safe.”
He swears at that moment he saw you smile.
.
.
.
Bucky brushed his flesh fingers against the words in the stone, tracing your name and important dates. February 23rd, 1936. A snowy, snowy day. Cool and crisp. Although he had to wait and wait until you were a week old to hold you, a week old to realize he was on his own, a week to realize that he truly loved you. No upcoming birthday surprises could top this one. But if he loved you so much then…
Why were you cursed to be underground?
•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°
When Bucky got back home to his apartment, he found himself subconsciously grabbing the bottle of scotch in his cabinet. Although he knew he couldn’t technically get drunk, the feeling he got after a couple glasses was close enough. Sometimes… he liked the quietness in his home, the time to relax, untouched and left alone to be himself; But most of the time, after so many years of being alone in his head, he loathes being alone. Friends and family were everything to him growing up. You were everything to him growing up.
He still wonders what it would be like if you were here, running around, asking him twenty questions, painting his toes, etcetera. He always wondered what you were like when you got older, the side of you he never got to see. He always wondered what those short years did for you.
Why did he have to get taken from you so soon?
.
.
.
You dove around your grandparents and aunts’ legs as you made your way out of the house, ignoring how your father’s duffle bag, that subconsciously you hated, was laying on the porch steps. You stumble around a bit on your five year old legs, before finding the person you wanted to see.
“Uncle Steve!!!” You yelled, throwing your arms up.
“Hey, Pumpkin.” He said, teasingly. He wastes no time to scoop you up, and carefully holds you close to him (it’s been years and he’s still afraid he’ll drop you). “Have you gotten smaller?”
You scrunched up your nose at him, shaking your head. “No.” You giggled at the silly nickname, and it all was because you were pocket size.
“No?” Steve said, tilting his head, all cocky. “Are you sure?”
You giggled again. “Yes.”
He grins. “Just checking.”
A sigh came from inside, before the two of you saw your father exiting his parents house, all dressed in his neatly ironed uniform. He looked miserable as he gazed at his bag on the porch.
“Ready?” Steve asked, readjusting his hold on you as he frowned himself.
“Unfortunately.” Bucky mumbled, not ready for what’s yet to come. However, when he faces you his whole expression changes for the better. “And there’s my little girl!”
“Papa!” You yelled, holding your arms out. He takes you in his arms, hugging you gently. “Are you leaving, Papa?”
“Oh, baby doll, I am.” He said, pulling back to look at you. “But don’t worry, I’ll be back as soon as I can.” He taps your nose. “Okay?”
You nodded slowly and smiled. “Okay!”
“Good.” He gives you a big kiss on your head, before peppering your face with some more making you laugh. “I love you, (Y/N).”
“I love you, too, Papa.”
“I love you more.”
He gives you one more kiss and one more hug before transferring you over back to Steve. They both give each other a strong hug and pat on the back, smiling bittersweetly.
“Be safe, Bucky.” Steve said, trying to hide his concern.
“I will. You too. The both of you.” Bucky said, grabbing his bag and making sure his voice was stern.
“We will. I’ll keep an eye on her.”
“Thank you, Steve.”
He bid them goodbye, and you and Steve watched him walk down the path to the military jeep parked nearby. It was chilling almost to watch, and your five year old mind couldn’t quite comprehend the heavy feeling you felt underneath the surface.
“Uncle Steve?” You asked, prying his eyes away from the moving vehicle.
“Yeah?” He said, softly.
You looked at him all puzzled, something wasn’t adding up. “I thought you told me you were going with him?” You swear he mentioned something like that to you yesterday. Right?
His eyes look away from you, almost like he was recollecting himself before giving you his answer. “I am. But not yet.” He replies, honestly. His orbs finally meet yours again. “Not until I know you're okay.”
“Really?” You asked, tilting your head to the side with curiosity.
“Sure am.” He smiles once more. “Now, what do you want to do? You want to see what Grandpa and Grandma are doing?”
Your eyes light up at their names. “Yes!!!”
He laughs at your enthusiasm. “Okay, okay. Let’s go see them.”
.
.
.
Bucky throws a bottle of scotch across the room, shattering somewhere. He didn’t care though. It’s not like he even batted an eye.
Five years old.
That was it.
That’s the last time he ever saw you.
And that hurt like a bitch.
•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°
He doesn’t know when…
But everything suddenly just…
Clicked.
Memories of his flooded in like a broken dam. He starts to recall who he was before and after the fall. Before and after the war. Before and after everything. So as he made his way to Siberia with his friend, Steve, he remembers something that was like a knife to his heart.
“I have a daughter.” Bucky said abruptly, cutting Steve off.
When he was on the run after the helicarriers fell, he remembers his time growing up in the early 1900s. The (multiple) times he saved his best friend’s ass from being picked on, or the way he took his younger siblings to the park, or helping his mother bake, or fixing the car with his dad. But there were a few memories he was confused by for a long time.
First he only heard little laughs, or someone trying to sing a child’s song. Then he saw little toys and dresses. Then he saw a little face with big, wondrous eyes. It didn’t take him long to realize who she was.
He met with his friend’s eyes quickly, almost getting choked up by an emotion that had been under lock and key for so long. “...I have a daughter… don’t I?”
Steve, who seemed taken back by his sudden string of words, opens and closes his mouth a few times, before settling his hand on his friend’s shoulder. “Yes, Bucky. You do.”
Bucky looked away, the confirmation sending his mind spiraling again, and the Captain could tell. He decides to approach this carefully since he knows his friend isn’t hundred percent in his right mind yet.
“Do you remember her?” Steve asked, watching him nod slowly. “What do you remember?”
Bucky thinks long and hard about this. What did he remember about you?
“Uh… I remember she was tiny… always tiny.” He chuckles quietly, making Steve smile. “She uh… had um… (Y/H/C) hair that was kind of wavy when she got older. Um… big, bright (Y/E/C) eyes. She… she um… smiled a lot… I think?”
“Yeah, she did Buck. All the time.” Steve said, patting his shoulder gently as he could see the joy it was bringing to his friend.
Bucky laughs again. “Uh… you used to call her by a weird nickname. What was it? Uh…” He purses his lips. “Po… Potato?”
Now it was the blond’s turn to laugh. “N-No. No. Close… Starts with a P, though.”
“Um…” His eyes light a spark. “Oh. Yeah. I remember now. We took her to her first Halloween pumpkin patch when I could hold in one hand because she was so tiny.”
“Yep. That’s what I called her.” He says with a nod. “Your Ma tried to dress her up like one.”
“Oh, yeah, she did.”
And then it got quiet, and Steve saw the bright light in his friend’s eyes go out when the wheels started to turn again. He held his breath, knowing what he was recalling next.
Bucky swayed on the balls of his feet a bit, looking at the floor. “She was five the last time I saw her.” He says, bittersweetly. “I remember, the night before, I took her to Coney Island, and we just played games and ate until our bellies ached. I got her a stuffed bear on the ring toss…”
Steve squeezed his shoulder, trying to give him some comfort because he knew there was no stopping any memories of you.
“She was with you when I left. I gave her hugs, and kisses and…” His voice starts to break. “I love you’s…. Um…”
“Bucky–” Steve begins, hating how hurt he looked.
“Steve. W-Was that last time you saw h-her too?”
Steve closed his mouth, thinking to himself. He couldn’t lie. He was a terrible liar which the brunette always sees through. So what was the point of even trying?
Cap shakes his head. “No. I saw her when she was nine. ‘Bout to be nine.”
“N-Nine?” Bucky asked, just above a whisper. “W-Why?”
“Um…” He swallows. “I had to…. I had to tell your family about, you know… the train… and you.”
The Soldier went distant. “O-Oh…”
“I wanted to make sure I was the one to tell them.”
“Oh…” Bucky started to get teary eyed. “D-Did you tell her?"
Steve held his breath again. It was like his mind started to relive that day.
You looked so happy to see him, but he watched that expression vanish when you saw his sadden face. It hurts to take you by the hand and into your room. It hurts to see how you’ve grown, and to think he got to see it and not your dad made the situation a whole lot worse.
He wanted to lie and tell you your dad was hurt.
He wanted to lie and tell you your dad was still at war and won’t be home for a while.
He wanted to lie and say everything was going to be okay.
But he couldn’t, and felt like it was his duty to tell you what happened to your father, to his best friend.
He knew if the situation was reversed, Bucky would be doing the very same thing now.
And when he did tell you, he hated how you kept on denying it. You called him a liar, and god he wished he was.
“I-I did…” He said, feeling his eyes sting as well.
Bucky jaw clenches. “A-And?”
Steve looks away for a second. “She cried for three hours.”
“O-Oh…” Bucky looks away too. “I always h-hated when s-she cries.”
With his hand still on the brunette shoulder, he gave him another comforting squeeze. “She…” Cap chokes, his memories flooding in all at once. “S-She um… she gave me her blanket, the one that she came home with. She um, wanted me… to promise to come back to her. But um… I failed at that, I guess.”
Bucky frowns. “Steve–"
“I tried finding her, Buck.” He finally looks at him. “When I came out of the ice, SHIELD managed to give me some of my things from the war. I kept the blanket in my chest, so… I tried finding her, because I didn’t want to break that promise to (Y/N), but…”
“You didn’t find anything?”
Steve shakes his head. “Not exactly.” He whispers, exhaling shaky.
“Not exactly?” Bucky asked, wanting an answer. “What does that mean?”
Now it was Steve’s turn to look all messed up. Especially since he couldn’t make eye contact again. He swallows a lump in his throat and says, “I’m so sorry, Bucky…”
“Sorry about what?” Bucky couldn’t understand what was happening and it was honestly starting to scare him. “What are you sorry about?”
“(Y/N)...” He sighs quietly, and forces himself to look in his best friend’s eyes. “Pneumonia. She, uh… got pneumonia in ‘54 and passed.”
Now the knife has dug deeper, chilling his bones too. “She’s dead?” He said, barely audible.
“Yeah. She’s dead.” The Captain replies, dispirit. “I found the spot where she’s buried. I can take you there if you–”
“Thank you, Steve.” The soldier says, ignoring the blond’s confused state. “I mean it. You were always so good to her, and to think you never stopped looking after all this time means A LOT to me. Do you understand? You helped my daughter when she was at her lowest, and you even found her for me. I thank you for that.”
Steve smiles bittersweetly. “No need to. I said I’ll always be there for the both of you.”
Bucky returns the gesture. “As will I.”
“Now, let’s finish this, shall we?”
.
.
.
“-Bucky.” Steve says, touching his shoulder and getting a small jolt from the man. Surprised eyes fell on him as he returned with concerned ones. “You ready?”
“Uh…” Bucky looked around quickly, remembering it was standing in the locker room changing. He didn’t even realize he had zoned out. “Y-Yeah.” He said, zipping up the front of his Quantum Suit. “Yeah, I’m ready.”
Steve tilts his head, the worriedness never vanishing. “You sure?”
“Yeah.” He nods. “Let’s get this mission completed.”
And those were the words that would change -everything-.

Hey! I know you have a post containing Winter!Steve works, do you have any more to share with us?
I sure do! Below are few more stories that feature Steve as the Winter Soldier instead of (or in addition to) Bucky.
And if you haven't already, check out one of my earlier lists, Villain(ish) Steve, which features stories with brainwashed/reluctant villain Steve Rogers.
Thanks so much for the ask!
Sleeping With Ghosts by @rohkeutta, art by @cobaltmoony, @esaael (Stucky | Mature | 33,918 words)
Summary: The first two years after Bucky gets out of the ice are-- surprisingly easy. Serve his country, learn to use his charmed robot hand, make friends, don’t think about the spark of magic in him that’s gone out, see the world, try to live with the grief (try to live with the grief, try to--) Maybe they’re not that easy, in the end, but he’s settling - until he gets reluctantly pulled out of the Army and has Steve’s shield (Steve’s shield, its magic wary and curious and half-dormant) thrust onto him again, even though he’s already turned it down once before. The world has changed and so has he, but as he tries to immerse himself into a new life, he meets a ghost he could never leave behind.
Ghosts by Shaish (@shaishwrites) (Stucky | Explicit | 70,380 words | Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings, Graphic Depictions Of Violence)
Summary: What if Steve and Bucky both fell in 1944?
More below the cut!
who he might be by Mici (noharlembeat) (@eggsac) (Stucky | Mature | 39,938 words | Graphic Depictions Of Violence, Major Character Death)
Summary: There are ways worlds overlap, and this is one of them, the tiny divergences that make us who we are, that run events the way they are. Bucky Barnes looks out at the world and he knows that he had always prepared for a world without Steve, but really, he didn't think it would look like this, like toxic lights and shining streets, like how every pulp book he ever read had shown the future. It's so brilliant. Bucky wants to just say, hey, Stevie, look. But Steve isn't there. Until he is.
The One Where Steve is Tony's Weakness by @jinxquickfoot (Gen | Teen And Up Audiences | 7,156 words)
Summary: Tony had come straight back the moment he’d received Natasha’s call. Three words—“HYDRA has Steve”. -------------------------------------- After surrendering himself to HYDRA, Steve Rogers reappears in Tony's life, forcing Tony to choose between his teammate's life and his own.
Folie a Deux by cloud_wolfbane (@cloudwolfbane) (Stucky | Explicit | 55,156 words | Graphic Depictions Of Violence)
Summary: When Bucky falls off the train in the Alps, Steve follows, and Russia gains two of the greatest assassins that ever lived.
every love story is a ghost story by lazyfish (@bobbiamorse) (Romanogers | Teen And Up Audiences | 10,451 words)
Summary: When Natasha is a child, she falls in love with the ghost story that is the Winter Soldier. When Natasha is an adult, she falls in love with the man that is Steve Rogers.
These last two are WIPs that haven't been updated in years, but I think they're well worth reading even in their incomplete state
Will the Real Captain America Please Stand Up? by @theoestofocs (Stucky | Teen And Up Audiences | 45,304 words | Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings)
Summary: On that fateful train raid in 1945, the angle of the HYDRA agent's gun knocked Steve back towards the ruptured wall of the train car. Bucky couldn't reach him in time. Steve fell. Bucky copes by crashing a plane. Seventy years later, Bucky wakes up, and finds himself in a world that's happy to let him take over as the new Captain America. He kind of hates it, but what's he gonna do? The real Cap, Steve Rogers, is long dead. (Right?)
Switched by @danveresque (Stucky, Bucky/Loki | Explicit | 40,649 words)
Summary: Bucky Barnes wakes up seventy years in the future, and everything is a few degrees off from where it should be.

Here’s an excerpt ~
Wanda didn’t know exactly where to start.
She looked to James and Yelena. It hit her then how eerie it was, to be around the two of them.
In her universe, Wanda was a bridesmaid in Yelena’s wedding.
She watched her and Bucky exchange vows at Camp Lehigh, along with the rest of the Avengers. She was there when they bought their first home, and she crashed on their couch for two months after her and Vision split up. And after Yelena died, Wanda gave the eulogy at her funeral.
She took a deep breath. Yelena’s death. That was the most logical place for her to start—she could work backwards from there.
“In my universe, Stephen Strange was Sorcerer Supreme. I’d been working under him for a few years as a Master of the Mystic Arts, when we were attacked by variants from another universe.”
She paused for a moment, letting her words settle. Bucky and Yelena didn’t so much as flinch, so she continued.
“We were at an event, all of us Avengers, honoring the Black Widow and Captain America—the two of you, in my universe—for their humanitarian efforts after the Blip. It’s my understanding that your universe went through something similar, with Thanos.”
James nodded. “Pretty much, yeah.”
“Right.” Wanda cleared her throat, shifting uncomfortably. She debated whether or not to tell them then and there who the variants in question were, and decided to put a pin in it for later.
“In any case—the attack, the variants in question, they accomplished half of their mission. They killed my universe’s version of you two, in front of a crowd of bystanders, along with Dr. Strange and other members of the Avengers. I would later come to find out that the attack was a means to an end—they only accomplished half of their mission.”
Yelena moved to the edge of her seat. Whatever doubts she’d had about Wanda, she filed out of mind—the look on this Wanda Maximoff’s face told her everything. She had to be telling the truth.
Wanda took a deep breath. “They were after something. Something that, unfortunately for them, didn’t exist—at least not in my universe.”
Bucky raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean, ‘not in your universe?’”

Mirage: The Third Enhanced (Avengers x Red Room x HYDRA)
read it on AO3 at https://ift.tt/vG0TiNP by AspiringAuthor_13 Katharine "Ryn" Wolff (18) never wanted to become an enhanced person, nor did she want to spend seven years in the Red Room. Turns out, the Universe doesn't really care what people want, and Ryn was forced to deal with it. She's been stuck in survival mode for nine years now, ever since her step-mother shot and killed her father. Turns out, she was an undercover Widow. Fun, right? Ryn would have given up a long time ago, except for one thing: Her little sister Evelynn. When a mission in Lagos goes sideways, Ryn, and her powers, become exposed to the Avengers. Natasha Romanoff (31) has taken Wanda Maximoff (27) under her wing, teaching her to fight without powers, and generally being the friend the young woman needs. But Natasha still feels like something is missing. What was she really after? Someone who didn’t just need her for fighting skills or tactics. A person who had been through fire of their own and, by sheer will, had come through on the other side—someone she could guide not just on technique, but also on the art of survival, on how to live without being consumed by what had been done to them. Will Ryn escape the clutches of HYDRA and her past? Or will she be consumed by her own perceived failures? Vote Pepper because:
Stony shippers don't like her, and as such, in Stony fics,Pepper is portrayed as Type A to the extreme (i.e., a nag) in order to justify Tony not liking her. Other than that, she's a fairly popular character, with fans acknowledging that she defeated most of Tony's adversaries.
Even characters in canon respect Pepper and ship her and Tony together - including the other part of the mlm ship, Steve.
Pepper got to marry Tony in canon and have a child with him in canon. This is despite how the two were perhaps only briefly together in comics (the source material for the MCU, allegedly), where Pepper realized she would be happier with Happy Hogan.
Vote Sharon because:
Stony, Stucky, Romanogers, and Steggy fans loathe her. Sharon is portrayed as a conniving, meddling bitch/villain in fics. Multiple authors flat-out say that they need someone to be the bitch or villain in their fics and they used Sharon.
She got so much hatred based on Steve kissing her in Civil War in 2016 that Marvel Studios changed its entire plan for multiple characters. Endgame hammered in a plot about how Steve had not, in fact, moved on and abandoned everyone he'd formed ties with to return to a woman he'd never dated and who had actually shot at him after seeing him kiss someone else because this was deemed more romantic than him being with someone who gave up everything to support him. Instead of "He can do this all day," he retired with someone who never got a single line of dialog in the film because the filmmakers said he deserved to be selfish for once. The filmmakers can't agree on if he genuinely went back in time (TSA approved, but also suggests he groomed Sharon so she would be return the kiss when she was older) or if he created another timeline (TSA supposedly wouldn't allow it, unless Cap is an exception to this rule, too). Meanwhile, Sharon is in a non-extradition country, using her own name, dealing in art (his area of interest) which would make it pretty easy for people to find her if they looked. But with Steve needing justification to not look for her, Marvel Studios argues that she's not only a villain, but was always too weak to survive trauma with her morality intact (despite how we saw her do just that in the past). In short, the kiss led to so much hatred for Sharon that Marvel decided to make things incredibly nonsensical and confusing in order to justify it.
Sharon still gets blamed for making out with Steve even though they weren't related and the only people saying they were did so in order to break them up. Reminder: He initiated the kiss 2016. He asked her out in 2014.
Even Marvel Studios employees talk about how they wanted to kill Sharon off in ways that might have been too violent to show on screen but backed off because "Emily Vandercamp" is so sweet. That is... not her name. This was said unprompted in a promotional interview. And yes, one of the writers flat-out said it's because they ship Steve with someone else. To my knowledge, nothing like this happened to Gwyneth Paltrow/Pepper.
Emily VanCamp was shown Stucky fic in interviews and told how people prefer Steve with Bucky. All she could say was that she hoped people liked Sharon a little more after Civil War. One problem with that was that Marvel Studios had decided to turn Cap 3 into Civil War - taking her from a lead to another extended cameo. She only have 7 1/2 minutes in the entirety of the MCU, and only three of those minutes were spent developing a romantic relationship. To my knowledge, nothing like this happened to Gwyneth Paltrow/Pepper, who got much more screentime and time to develop a romantic relationship.
Interviewers quoted anti-Staron shippers (including from people who openly said they thought Steve should get with Bucky instead) on the promotional tour, and you can see in at least one of the interviews that Emily is trying not to cry. To my knowledge, nothing like this happened to Gwyneth Paltrow.
This is despite how Sharon has been Steve's main love interest in the comics since December 9, 1965. Despite being off and on for decades (three of Steve's other love interests were while she was supposedly dead, with at least one writer saying they only created the love interest because Sharon was dead at the time), the two of them have been together since 2005 - seven years before TFA came out.
Round 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda Under Cut
Pepper Potts
So many fics make her bitchy and controlling for absolutely no reason she deserves better
So for this we have to think back to like... peak Avengers MCU era. I am sorry. Back when Avengers had just come out it was BRUTAL out there for anyone who didn't like Tony/Steve (Tony Stark, Pepper's canon love interest, and Steve Rogers aka Iron Man and Captain America). While the ship itself is like, fine, it got sour so fast because Pepper was demonized SO much. When she wasn't completely sidelined and ignored, she was a cheater or an abuser (??) or what-have-you in fics so the two men could get together. It's much better now and last I heard Pepper gets some of the love she deserves (bc we do love women in this house!) but oh MAN it was bad back then. TBH all MCU women were treated like garbage by the fanbase but she got the brunt of it because she was in the way of The Most Popular Ship. She was just too #girlboss I guess
Frequently villainized for being a canon love interest for Tony Stark. Often portrayed as a Nag, constantly bothering him about doing "work" for his "company" when he could be working on inventions or spending time with his love interest! Sometimes she just Doesn't Understand Him, inconsiderately pressuring him to stay out of being a hero instead of being who he really is; only the m/m love interest really understands him! Or maybe she's the aggressor, who took advantage of the power imbalance between her and her poor innocent *checks notes* boss in order to pressure him into a relationship he didn't really want where he was treated terribly, and only his m/m love interest can save him from her! Pepper deserves better!
Sharon Carter
she “got in the way” of stucky shippers, in the comics she’s like the love of Steve’s life
When she first appeared she was unfairly treated by fans for "getting in the way" of the Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes ship. A shame because she's a really good character. I'd talk more about how unfairly Sharon, and her actress Emily VanCamp, have been treated by the fanbase and the creators, but that's a different story.
She and Steve Rogers were meant to have a romantic relationship, but the entire fandom and many Stucky fans dislike her because it wasn’t a good ship. I think she isn’t the best but she doesn’t deserve so much hate

-
You stopped to look out the small window in the door that connected the Compound to Helicopter pad for the fourth time since your arrival to the small room
You had be up there twice already this morning, your mother was coming home today; she had been away on a mission for almost 3 weeks now
Natasha was one to only come back, once the mission was completed.
You half hated that about your mom
In your defense she was gone quite a lot
"ugh, this could not take any longer.." You groaned to yourself and flopped onto the ground leaning up against a rack of empty pistols
After a few moments of silence, you heard the faints sounds of what could be the Quinjet and jumped of the ground, gluing your face to the small piece of glass in the door. Looking around for the Quinjet, finding nothing, but an actual helicopter maybe 2-3 miles away flying away from the Compound
--
After deciding to come back later and check again, you walking back down to the kitchen
"She back yet?" Clint asked you, while finishing up his ham sandwhich
You shook your head "Nah, she'll be here soon though, right?" You asked him hopefully
He turned and smiled at you "Of course, she always comes back.." Reassuring you, he looks you up and down "Have you had lunch? You look tired." You shake your head again "Nope. I've been up by the Helicopter pad, waiting for mom." You say walking over to the fridge and opening it
"what to have, what to have.." You just stared at the fridge not able to think of how you could put all the food together to make something
"Hey, Clint?" "Yeah" "What do we have for lunch?"
He looked over at you "Uh, Ham Sandwiches," He held up his sandwich for you to see "I think pasta from last weekend, and taco makings.." He smiled at you
"Thanks." You turned back to the fridge still not sure what to have for lunch, but your thoughts were interrupted by Jarvis
"Excuse me, Miss Y/n, your mother has just come into view on the Compound's security camera's. She will be arriving very soon." The AI finished talking and Clint brought you back to reality
"Y/n/n, you might wanna go back up to the Heli-Pad, Nat's home." He starts to walk that way hoping you would follow him
You swing the fridge door closed, accidentally slamming it, but you didn't care
Mom was home.
You ran pass Clint and huffed right back up the stairs, then wanting to, but never stopped running, especially when you see the Quinjet hanger door opening before you were even outside
You put your arms out to push open the small weapons room door that you were in early, and in doing so the warmth of the sun hit you like a brick, just now remembering how cold you were
"MAMA!" You shouted to her as her boots hit the cement and she smiled at you, dropping the duffel bag she was carrying to hug you
"Y/n!" She said back to you with a big smiled as you slammed in her, and almost knocking you both over she hugs you back and holds you tight
"Hey bubba, i missed you.." She whispered to you kissing the side of your head
You missed her so much and didn't say anything trying to hold back your tears, and instead just moved yourself closer to her
She rubs your back, and sways you both side to side til your mom heard Clint come outside to greet his best friend
She picked her head up and leaned away from you slightly "You Idiot, I thought you were gonna clean the control panel, it is disgusting." You felt the vibrations of her voice echo through her chest as she yelled at him
"I did." Clint says mockingly and throws his hands in the air at you both
"How was the mission, took you maybe 2 months just to get back." He says sarcastically "This one," Clint points at you, still in your mother's arms "was missing you big time," Natasha tried to hold back a smile "went and slept in Wanda's room four nights in a row." You look up from where your head rested on Natasha's shoulder and scolded him
"Hey. I thought no one was gonna tell. And it was only three nights, not four." You leaned away from your mom fully and crossed your arms childishly now feeling embarrassed
"Come on, you two, lets get inside.." Natasha picked the duffel bag back up with one hand and grabbed your hand with her other, pulling you along, back inside
---
Lunch
"Y/n, you want a ham sandwich?" Natasha asked you casually as she made herself a PB&J
"Yes, please.." You said as you fell back onto the couch
"Hey, I am trying to watch my show." Clint said annoyed at you
"All i am doing is jumping on couch and then falling less an 10 inches away from you, it's ok.." You said sarcastically
"Y/n, don't fall on Clint." Natasha said mindlessly
"I'm not.." "Nat, are you doing a debriefing today?"
"Are you trying to get rid of me, Barton?"
"That is not what I said, I am making sure my dork of friend is doing her work." Clint said taking a bite of his sandwich
"I am going to talk with Nick after I get my daughter and myself some Lunch, Clint."
"Mom?"
....
"Yes, Y/n.."
"What's for Lunch?" "Y/n. I am making you a ham sandwich which right now, silly girl.." She said a little annoyed
"Oh, right.." You giggle to yourself and jump
"Y/n-" You landed on Clint "Sorry Uncle Clint.."
"Y/n. What did I say about falling on Clint..?"
"I didn't mean to.." You said getting off Clint and walking over to the counter
She raised a brow at you "Ok, I might have maybe probably tried to fall on Clint.." You said sitting down at the counter
"Here is your sandwich," She said kissing your head "I am going to my debriefing with Nick, and will be back for Dinner, okay?" She said handing you a plate with your ham sandwich on it and giving you a hug
"Bye bye Tasha.." Clint said waving his hand high in the air still watching the TV
"Bye, Clinty.." She said ruffling his hair and left the room
----
Dinner
"Where is Nat?" Bruce asked the rest of the table
You, Wanda, Bruce, Steve, Clint, Tony and Thor all sat together at the long table.
Natasha had been down stairs with Fury doing a mission report for almost 2 hours. Thor sat next to you across from Tony, with an empty seat on your right; your mother's seat
Sometimes Wanda or Steve would come and sit on the other side of you, to help you forget your mom was on a mission or just to keep you company
For you it only made you remember even more that she was gone, but you did like that they filled the usually empty chair
Thor's booming voice and Tony's sass filled the room, arguing, like always, over stupid stuff. They argued about a lot, mostly about who's the strongest, but sometimes they would talk about Thor's room being bigger than Tony's, and how Tony built the place and picked everyone's rooms. Some nights it would be about how old Steve really is, and on a extremely rare occasion everyone would go around telling something that happened in the last week or in the coming week that was exciting, or how school was for you, but that was using your mother or Wanda or even Steve sometimes. asking you quietly whilst everyone argued behind you...
You heard faint footsteps and remembered your mom was at a debriefing with Fury, you turned your head over to the door and watched and waited, but saw nothing..
"What do you mean?!? You could have taken that room Stark." Thor shouted, mouth full of food
"How could I have known, it is right next to the corner of the Compound you idiot." Tony shouted back, pointing his fork at him
"Idiot?! I am no idiot, you fowl miss-guardian!" He bellowed at Tony as a lightning sparked in his eyes. They both stand, Tony summoning his Suit
"Thor. Tony. Sit down, and stop shouting." Natasha said sternly and they both quickly followed orders
"How did you guys get by for three weeks withou-" She looked at the wall behind Tony and there was a hole the same size as The Hulk with a few pieces of duck tape strapping from one side to the other, doing a poor job of trying to cover it up
"It was Tony's fault." Clint said casually, Nat stood there shocked which turned to disappointment and then to anger pretty fast "What the hell, Tony."
There was a moment of silence before Tony could answer her
"You really shouldn't swear in front of your daughter." Tony countered
Everyone including yourself knew what was about to happen
"Tony, don't you dare tell me what I can and can't do. I trust my daughter to understand, that I am not swearing towards her and that is correctly directly at the person I am talking too, got it?" She gives him a death stare and Tony gulps hard
"Got it, Romanoff." He says quietly looking back down at his plate, while everyone around the room is silent, silent until Morgan; sitting next to Pepper, starts giggling to herself and you notice her doing so
"Daddy, you are in big trouble!" Morgan shouts down the table as Natasha sits next you and pulls you in for a hug from the side
"love you.." Your mom whispers just for you to hear
"Love you, and I don't even remember that happening.." You said defending your own , you had done nothing, but still...
-----
After Dinner most everyone would go and watch a movie or talk in the Living room, but Natasha telling Tony off was quite awkward, so everyone was doing their own thing tonight, not you though, you actually wanted to be with your mom
"Momm.." You yelled down a hallway, after not being able to find her
"Y/n?" Natasha asked from behind you
You screamed and ran forward a little after jumping
"What the heck, mom. You scared the crap out of me.." You said catching your breath
"Oho I'm sorry," She chuckled "what did you need me for, bub?"
You look at the ground "I was, um wondering if we could do something together? I mean you have been gone so long, and I really missed you an-" Natasha pulled you into a hug "And Morgan would have made me watch Moana again.." You say leaning into her touch
"mm, this is nice.." You mumble to yourself
Natasha chuckles and asks you "What do you wanna do tonight, my sweet girl?" she leaned away to see your face
"Umm, how about we watch Moana.." You suggest sarcastically raising both your eyebrows
"No no- Please no. I was kidding." Natasha laughs at your bad joke and you lean back into her hug
"How about a movie? We could watch what is the-" "no, movie would last to long." You responded yawning into her neck
"You tired..?" She asks you softly "nah uh. am not." You yawned again "That doesn't count." You say leaning fully away from her
"I think it does, when it's almost nine o'clock and you have been up since," She stopped for a moment to think "Since fourth this morning."
"Hey- Who told you that?" You looked at her almost offended "I talk to people,"
You cough alittle and respond "Steve" Cough cough
She looked at you side ways and a little disappointed "What do you mean, Steve?"
"What do you mean?? Everyone knows Steve would do anything for you, mom.." You state as if it should be obvious to her
Instead of questioning you on this more, she complete changed the subject "You said you were tired, right?" "I did not, and stop trying to change the subject." Natasha lets out a heavy breath "You know I love you, and I am willing to tuck you in, or watch a movie, or whatever you wanna do, but I will not be talking to you about this right now, okay?" You roll your eyes "Finee.." You start to walk down the hall, she follows, questioning you
"Where you going, Y/n/n?" She asks catching up to you
"To bed, can you tuck me in, mama?" You ask her sleepily
"Sure Bubba, come on.." She takes your cold hand in her warm hand and you both walk down the hall towards your room
------
Natasha turned your bedside Lamp on as you went to the bathroom and brushed your teeth
You walked out and made sure you closet door was closed
Then you settled yourself in bed, your mom came to sit beside you on the edge
"Goodnight, my sweet girl, I love you so much, yeah.." She leaned over and gave you a big hug with multiple kisses on your cheek
"Okay- Okay, goodnight, mama, I love you.." You said and yawned again, as Natasha leaned away from you saying "So, sleepy.." She stroked your cheek and moved a piece hair out the way of your face
She smiled as you fluttered your eyes closed, but opened them quickly trying to stay awake
You brought Natasha back into another hug
"Mama?" "Yes, Baby?" "What are we doing tomorrow..?" "Oh, um- Probably going shopping for food, and oh, right- We need to go get our dry-cleaning tomorrow.." She peppered you with kisses again
"I missed you, Y/n/n." You smiled to yourself
"I am just glad your back mama.." Natasha started to get up and went to close the door
"Mom?" You sat up in bed
"Yes?" She answered unsure what you were going to say
"Goodnight, mama.." You said and laid back down and closed your eyes
"Goodnight.." Natasha closed your door and smiled to herself, happy to be back home with everyone, but especially her little girl...

Promising Hands
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x Child reader x Romanrogers
Warnings: blood, Injured child, violence, angst, but fluff. THIS SUCKS, it was a rush job, and is not edited
Summary: One Red-head Russian, One Cool Ranch Dorito, and a mission that can change their lives forever.
Word count :1458
A/N:  Spare me I have not written in awhile.  this has been in my drafts i have just be to S H Y to post them. oh, and request are open.
Request?: NAH!!!!!!!!!!! DIS WAS ALLLLLL MEH .  Spare me i have not written in  awhile.
“Steve this floor is clear, I'm moving to  Sub-level one.” The Russian spy said, pressing and releasing the button on her earpiece. “Okay, be careful.” She then rolled her eyes with a scoffed and pressed her earpiece. “When am I not?” She said, continuing down the flight of stairs. “I can think of a couple of times,” he said in a seductive voice. “You know what Rogers, I have work to do, you should do the same. “Whatever you say” she then turned “Mmhmm'' she said with her guns raised starting down a hallway. She then came in contact with two hydra agents but shot them down effortlessly, each three times. Head. Chest.Stomach. She then saw a light flicker in a room down the hallway with its’ door cracked open.
She walked down the hallway and pushed the door open with her gun ready for any danger. The room looked like a messy lab, things were everywhere, the computers were destroyed, chemicals and serums spilled on the table as if they were in a rush.
An agent then came behind her and wrapped his arms around her neck, making her drop her gun. Nat countered by elbowing him in his face and then kicking him in his chest through a glass table, then grabbed her gun. When he attempted to get up she shot him twice in the stomach.
She then heard a gasp and snapped her attention toward the sound raising her gun once more. She then slowly proceeds toward the table. She leaned over the table and looked under it to see a little girl about 3 or 4 with her knees curled up to her chest and her head buried in her crossed arms.
“Hello,” Natasha said in a calm and friendly tone, which is very unlikely for this assassin. The child then looked up and flinched trying to scoot back farther. When she backed against the wall, she snapped her focus back at the women.
Her e/c eyes were met with fiery red hair and emerald green eyes, which were comforting. She gasped when she saw Nat’s gun. “H-hey, it’s’ okay, I won’t hurt you,” Nat said, putting her gun into the holster.  “What is your name?” She asked the girl “Y/n” the child responded barely above a whisper.”That is a beautiful name, I’m Natasha, now let's get you somewhere safe.”
“N-no more b-bad people?” The little girl asked, voice is full of insecurity. “No more bad people,” Nat said reassuringly. “You promise?” “I promise” “How can I trust you?” “We promise to protect you from bad men always, and if you give me your hand I promise to never let it go, Okay?” “Okay,”
At the moment, Nat knew that she was immediately attached to the wounded girl. What wounded girl!?! Nat was too distracted by the girl to realize the blood-soaked shirt and the growing crimson pool around the girl. Without hesitation, Nat grabbed the little girl and rushed out of the room.  “ Hey Steve I found Hydra’s project and she needs medical help.” “She?... It’s a person?” “Yes and she needs medical evac, keep up Steve.”
The little girl wrapped her arms around Nat’s neck and her legs and her waist. When they got outside the little girl buried her face in Nat’s neck to avoid the blinding light in the sky that was unknown to her, Nat could help but think of how cute the sight was.
Nat felt the body go limp and started to run faster. When she reached the quinjet, Nat carefully laid the unconscious girl on the floor and then examined the little body. The little girls were very pale, hardly breathing, and had lost a lot of blood, multiple cut wounds, a very big and deep stab wound. It looked like someone tried to kill her, in the mist of their base being invaded.
Nat found a cloth and started applying pressure while Steve flew the jet as fast as he could. With one hand Nat tried to stop the bleeding, and in the other she held the child’s hand, keeping her promise.
When they arrived, Nat ran with the little girl straight to med bey, there she found Bruce, who was talking to Dr.Cho. “Hey Na- who is that?” he asked immediately getting a gurney. “Hydra’s project, and she needs help,” Nat stated, placing the girl on the bed, still holding her hand. “Bruce, help her please, she stopped breathing like a couple of seconds ago.” she said still holding the girl’s hand, following the gurney down the hall toward the O.R. when they reached the doors of the room nat was stopped by a nurse, the sudden action causing her to let go of the girl's hand.
“ No I have to stay with her.” she said, trying to push past the doctor.“ Ma’am you should let the doctors do their work.” the nurse said, trying to block the doorway. Nat was getting angry, and trust me you do not want to make Natasha Romanoff, aka the Black Widow angry. “ No she needs me. I have-,” “Ma’am, please, listen to me-” “ NO! You listen to m-” “ Sorry nurse, I’ll take it from here” Steve said, cutting off Natasha and pushing her away from the door  to a wall in the hallway.
“Steve, babe, no, I-i h-have to be in there, I-i need, i need to hold her hand,” Steve looked at her with a sad expression “She was scared, and I know what it is like at that age, when your in a situation you don’t want to,  a-and have horrible people do bad things to you and make you do bad, bad things.” she stated with worry.
Steve gave her a small smile and then pulled her into a hug. He knew that she was referencing the red room, and how she hated what they did to kids at such a young age and how it was scarring. “Nat, everything will be fine,” he said, stroking her hair, all she did in response was give a nod. “Why don’t you go take a shower and get something to eat and come back down, and I will be here when they finish with her in the recovery room.” he said pulling away from the hug, she just nodded again and walked down the hall.
When Nat came back down to MedBay, (y/n) was out of o.r., and in recovery. She walked into the room to see the girl connect to all different monitors, an IV, and a breathing tube in her nose. Steve was asleep on the armchair next to the bed with one of his hands resting on top of one of the girl’s. That made Nat smile softly.
She was walking around the room reading Bruce's analysis, and that's when Steve woke up. “You look refreshed” he said stretching, his voice still groggy.  “Yeah after showers, eating, and debrief, I was really tired, and took a cat nap,” she said, kissing his forehead. “How’s she doing?” Nat said, holding the girl's other hand. “M’kay, but my tummy hurts.” the girl said with a small smile, Nat and Steven happily returning  it.
That a was 4 and half months ago
Y/n woke up in a cold sweat, breathing heavy, and tears streaming down you  face. A bad dream. The small girl got out of bed and walked down the hall.  Three doors down, make a left, first door on the right.
Being the trained ex-assassin/spy she is, as soon at the door opens she lifted her head to see who it was. “Y/n, hun, why are you up?” she said concern taking over her face.  “I had a bad dream” she whispered.  “M’sorry babes, do you want to sleep with me and daddy,” she asked giving the little girl grabby hands. The girl gave a small smile, and nodded her head, walked over to Nat’s side of the bed and climbed in. the girl got under the blankets and and cuddle closer to Nat and she held you tight, and buried your face in her chest.
“я люблю тебя, детка” she planting a kiss to the girls forehead. “I love you too mama” the girl replied with a small yawn. Steve then rolled over, moving closer to the pair, wrapping a protective arm around Natasha and y/n.“ I love you y/n/n” he said. “I love you too daddy.” “My two favorite girls,” “Good night babe” he said to the redhead, giving her a kiss. “Good night baby.” she said, returning the kiss. “Good night y/n” they said at the same time, kissing your head. “Good night”.
я люблю тебя, детка~ I love you Baby

Romanogers Daughter
Nat never thought she could have kids so when she found out she was pregnant her and Steve were at a loss of words but neither could deny the happiness they felt
Both do everything in their power to protect her but they don’t keep secrets from her
Nat had heart failure the day their daughter told them she wants to be a ballerina but she couldn’t say no to the hope and innocence in her eyes, she’s only 5 afterall and this isn’t the red room
In her teens, along with ballet, she wanted to begin sparring with her parents, so they did
She fights with agility and grace combining her years of dance with fighting stances
She doesn’t want to be a superhero , she’s seen the toll it’s taken on her parents. She wouldn’t mind being a dance teacher or doctor though
All the Avengers are super protective of her
When not on the dance floor she’s extreamly clumsy and accident prone, it’s a mystery her parents can’t figure out
Coffee addict
Blond hair and green eyes
Feel free to add on!!!

---⧗---
Little James Rogers was only 3 years old when he was told the exciting that would soon turn into the most disappointing news he had ever heard in his life
Steve and Natasha were quietly discussing something in the kitchen when James walked in wanting a drink of milk.
“Milk pwease daddy,” James said walking over to Steve and raising his arms in the air to let his father know that he wanted to be picked up.
Natasha went to pour James a glass of milk while Steve held and cuddled him.
James has always been a daddy’s boy and Natasha didn’t mind that Steve got to give him all the cuddles and kisses or read him bedtime stories every night and play with him all day. Okay, maybe she did mind slightly…slightly.
After James finished his milk Natasha took the cup from him and placed it in the sink to be washed later.
“James mommy and I need to tell you something,” Steve said putting him down on the ground.
“Oh okay we’re doing this now,” Natasha said kneeling down to James’ level.
“What is it?” James asked
“Mommy is going to have a baby. You’re going to be a big brother.” Natasha told him.
“Take a look.” She took out the ultrasound from her jeans pocket and gave it to him.
As James looked at the image he wasn’t quite sure what he was looking at. “What that?”
“That’s the baby James,” Steve explained.
“Where is baby?” James asked looking around the room
“In mommy’s tummy,” Steve said.
James suddenly let out a big gasp “mommy eat baby?”
“No sweetheart I didn’t eat the baby.” Natasha laughed. That's where the baby stays so it can be safe and grow till it’s ready to be born.”
“How baby get out?” James asked
“Well…umm…” Natasha looked at Steve hoping he would have an answer but he just shrugged.
Before they could answer James slightly lifted Natasha’s shirt revealing her stomach. “Baby comes out tummy button wite mommy?”
Both Steve and Natasha laughed “that’s right sweetie.” Natasha said kissing his cheek.
“Mommy me want bwother.”
“You might get a brother but you might not it’s not something we can control it just happens,” Steve told him.
“It will be a nice little surprise for all of us in 6 month time." Natasha smiled at Steve who smiled back at her.
"That too long me want baby now." James whined."
"I know son but you just have to be patient the baby will be here whenever it's ready," Steve told the young boy.
---⧗---
James waited and waited and asked every day if it was time for his new brother to arrive but it never was.
To help him understand more of what will happen when the baby arrives Steve and Natasha brought him along to the majority of the doctor's appointments, let him help decorate the new baby's room and read him books that were written to help children understand what will change when the baby comes.
Finally after what felt like years to little James the day had arrived when he got to meet his new little brother
Steve took Natasha to the hospital last night and Wanda stayed to watch James.
From the second his parents left to when he got up this morning James spent the whole time looking out the window waiting for them to come home.
---⧗---
"They're home, they're home, they're home," James shouted when he saw the car pull up in the driveway.
Steve and Natasha walked in and Steve was carrying a baby car seat with their new baby inside.
"Mama, daddy you're home," James said excitedly.
"Come here, my baby boy," Natasha said with a big smile on her face and opened her arms for him to run into.
He ran over to her and gave her a big hug.
"Have you been good for aunt Wanda?" Natasha asked after she gave him many kisses all over his face.
"Yes mama." he laughed wiping his face.
"That's my good boy. Are you ready to meet your new sibling?"
James nodded excitedly.
Natasha took his hand and led him into the living room with Steve and Wanda following.
Natasha sat down on the couch with James sitting down beside her.
James was struggling to contain his excitement.
"Calm down baby you have to be very quiet and gentle when holding the baby okay," Natasha spoke softly
"Sowy mama. Me happy to see baby brother."
"Before you hold the baby we have some news that will make you sad James." Steve took his new child out of the car seat.
"what is it?"
Natasha put her hands on James' shoulder and gently turned him towards her. "Sweetheart I'm sorry but you don't have a brother the baby is a girl you have a sister."
"Oh," James said sadly.
"Do you still want to hold her?" Steve asked getting closer to him.
James shook his head and climbed off the sofa. "I hate baby."
"I know you're upset James but that's not very nice," Natasha spoke calmly not wanting to escalate it further.
"Just come say hi to her James she's not going to bite." Steve started bringing the baby closer to James.
Steve didn't expect James to react the way he did.
"No!" He screamed pushing his dad’s leg to get him to move but obviously, Steve didn’t budge
“Careful James you don’t want to hurt the baby now do you?."
“Stupid baby. Hate baby." James shouted then ran to his room crying his eyes out.
"Do you want me to deal with him, babe?" Steve asked carefully passing baby you to her.
"No, it's okay just leave him to calm down in his own time." Natasha placed a kiss on your head then laid back on the couch and closed her eyes.
Most of the time Natasha wouldn't let James off with that behaviour but she was too tired and she didn't want to risk the tantrum that he will definitely throw to wake up the baby
---⧗---
A few hours later James quietly made his way downstairs and peeked his head inside the living room. His parents were sitting on the couch. Natasha was holding the baby and Steve was wiping the baby's face with a cloth.
James slowly walked in keeping his head down ashamed of his reaction earlier.
"Hey, sweetheart are you okay?" Natasha asked.
James nodded "sowy mama sowy daddy."
Steve moved over and patted the space in the middle of him and Natasha "it's okay son."
James climbed up on the spot in between his parents and got himself comfortable.
"You were just having too many big feelings about what was happening and you didn't know how to react right?" Natasha explained to James what happened.
James nodded in agreement.
"Do you think that you're ready to meet your new sister?" Natasha asked, "it's okay if you're not we can try again when you're ready there is no rush."
"Wedy now mama." James smiled at her
Natasha carefully put you in James' arms "James meet Y/N your new baby sister."
James smiled at the fragile little baby in his arms "Y/N. I love Y/N."
though James started off hating you it didn't last long he made sure that he was the best big brother to you. He Always protected you and did what he could to make you happy.

Natasha probably wasn't supposed to remember. But somehow through the fog of torture, hazing, and brainwashing, a few fleeting memories had survived. Memories of weak cries and too-soft skin, she remembers thinking about how easy it would bruise.
And then it was gone.

has this picture been talked about before?
natasha romanoff never showed how scared she was, not even a hint of it, not even after the blip, not even before sacrificing herself. she always put on a brave look, even when was a on verge of death. but that look in eyes reflects how terrified she is from the inside. that's how comfortable she is around steve rogers. to uncloud emotions, can sometimes be a very hard act for someone who has been through traumatic events as a child. but even then, nat feels safe enough to expose herself. (ps: she also only cried infront of steve in endgame ‼️)
steve on the other hand looks so passionate. he is pouring his body and soul into hugging nat. as if at that moment, she was the most precious thing to him. he could loose his own life, but he couldn't care less about it. all he's worried about is the woman in his arms. he's scared, yes, but more for her than for himself. steve's face too, portrays every emotion he's feeling inside, be it fear, be it love, be it determination.
you might not be a romanogers shipper, and that's okay. but you can't disagree that this still from tws is a masterpiece. idk about y'all, but i was ROBBED.

Here’s an excerpt ~
“Stephen. Stephen, look at me.”
He grasped Wanda’s hand, trying his best to hold it tightly—but it was futile. His vision was blurred and the bright, white light was flickering ahead of him. He was a doctor—he, of all people, knew what the wound in his abdomen meant. He knew that Steve had punctured an artery, or worse.
He knew that death was imminent. And he knew what he had to do.
Wanda heaved in between heavy sobs. She clutched his hands, begging him to hold on, asking him if he knew of any spells, knew of something, anything she could do that would keep him alive, that would stave off the inevitable.
“Wanda.” He cleared his throat, his voice wavering. “You need to listen to me,” he managed.
He tried to make sense of what they’d just witnessed—Bucky and Yelena Barnes, dead. Brutalized in front of a crowd, honoring them for their duties to the Avengers.
The massacre that ensued between Rogers, Romanoff, and the other Avengers—this wasn’t the version of Romanoff or Rogers that Stephen and Wanda knew. No, the Natasha and Steve from their universe were long dead, killed during their fight against Thanos.
This duo was something else. Something darker.
He knew what it meant. And as sorcerer supreme, he knew what he needed to tell his highest ranking Master.
“It’s the multiverse, Wanda,” he managed.
“What are you talking about?” she whispered, her eyes pleading with him.
He thought of the visions he had, in his dreams. A variant of him somewhere out there had personal experience involving the multiverse. And in those dreams was a young woman dressed in a denim jacket, with two moms, an affinity for pizza balls, and the ability to travel the from one alternate reality into the next.
There were so many things he needed to tell her—so many things he would never be able to. He was out of time.
“You need to find her,” he managed, the light finally passing over his eyes.
“Find who, Stephen?”
Just as the light consumed him, he was able to get out one last word.
America.
You can read the full thing here.
