@kalihanded said: time stopped. the curtain falls, and there is darkness. naught shall he recount; a perilous abyss consumed his consciousness. in this vastness, his spirit is adrift, wading through thickly dense fogs in search for a guiding light. day and night did not exist. nor did his physical senses. wandering endlessly, automatically, for a beacon. an allure. something tangible and real to guide him back to the surface. ears heed a distant sound of an opened door. his consciousness follows it, gradually stirring from his comatose state. bleary eyes could not decipher his whereabouts; pupils slowly scan his surroundings. where was his god? his— “ Prince soma ! “ cried Agni, sudden adrenaline rush musters his strength to nearly sit upright, but the severity of his wounds were too much to bear. he winces and recoils in pain, carefully lying back down. he gathers his bearings, eyes squeezing shut. manifesting some small form of composure, his eyelids open, wearily glancing toward his friend. “ Is the prince… safe from harm? ”
So fragile... It never ceased to amaze the demon exactly how fragile the human body actually was. Despite knowing it fully well, there were times when even he had to remind himself lest his own strength might knock someone out for good. But this? While he himself had nothing to do with his friend's poor state, he could not help but find himself admiring Agni's condition - as strange as that sounds.
Anybody else would have come to their demise, surely. Yet Agni remained alive; asleep but alive. How his body was working overtime day and night to keep the indian butler alive - hopefully long enough for him to eventually wake up. His wounds had been severe, to say the least. Had Sebastian been a simple human, he probably would have thanked God for arriving at the scene in time to save him.
Laying and healing in a comfortable bed at Miss Sullivan's residence, Agni had remained there for weeks. Unfortunately, neither Sebastian nor his master had had the time to linger about to see to his full recovery, considering they had had very pressing matters at hand at the time. And... sadly, there would not come a time when they could come to visit. Until now.
A lot has happened since then. Being on the run from the authorities meant keeping a low profile while figuring out the next step of their plan. With the Phantomhive staff, Mister Lau and Rao-Mao having departed on their own missions, it was still too risky for the Earl and his butler to freely roman the streets of London before making their own departure for Brighton.
While they trusted Agni under Miss Sullivan's care, what kind of an Earl would his master be if he didn't managed to make at least one check-in on the patient before departing?
“ ... Hm? ” The demon's ears caught the sudden increase of breathing, the rush of blood pumping in Agni's veins as his body began to stirr awake. Sebastian glanced over at the bed, and he could have sworn he saw the exact same moment Agni finally came to - before he had even sat up.
He blinked in surprise, his crimson gaze calmly rested on his newly awakened friend as he moved over to stand by his bedside - a gloved hand coming out to gently rest on his shoulder.
“ Mister Agni, ” He began, keeping his own voice low and calm in an attempt to keep the other calm as well. “ Please, do remain calm. You've been through quite a lot, and even a sturdy body as yours needs the rest. ” A small but evident smile tugged at the corner of his lips, and he could have sworn it was sincere - a result of him actually being relieved to see the other butler alive and awake.
As for the Prince however... It was probably for the best if Sebastian refrained from answering that question. At least right now. After all... Sebastian does not lie.

Nineteen Claws & A Black Bird von Agustina Bazterrica Kurzgeschichtensammlung der Tender is the Flesh/Wie die Schweine Autorin.

When we see caste ,there are some more socio-economic facets to it.Indian society for a very long time remained an immobile society, frogs of the well ,majority of its population for centuries hardly travelled more than few km,the state was mainly based on primary economy of agriculture and here and there local crafts mostly for local use.The formal education was hardly secular, and had a priestly hold.
The Roman trade loss was much bad for North India around I st century AD .
The Western frontier of India remained a big problem, from central asian hoardes ,though China solved this problem by erecting Great Wall of China,India could not ,the Huna invasion and then Muslim invasion played important role in further orthodoxy emerging in Indian society.

Love Senior's started airing!!
So here I am, once again, with my usual language observations. Note: I'm going off the YT subs and shall use whatever name romanizations they use there!
Disclaimer: not a native Thai speaker, still learning 🙏
Manaow's older brother Faung's nickname for her because Siblings™
Faung เฟือง /Feuuang/ is shortened from มะเฟือง /Ma Feuuang/ = star fruit
Manaow มะนาว /Ma Nao/ = lime
( ไอ้)หมาเน่า /(ai) maa nao/ = (You) rotten dog -> as you can see from my basic-ass pronunciation guide, it sounds close to her actual name -> หมาหัวเน่า /maa huaa nao/, lit. rotten-headed dog, is an idiomatic expression for an outcast, someone who's disliked and has no friends - lol thanks P'Faung!
Gyoza's red Vespa
it's called (เจ้า)หมูแดง /(jao) moo daaeng/
เจ้า /jao/ = used affectionately as a prefix by seniors for children or juniors, as well as by owners for pets
หมูแดง /moo daaeng/ = lit. red pork; grilled marinated pork dish of Chinese origin
What to call each other
Gyoza, who's been calling herself พี่ /Phi/ and who Manaow has been referring to as พี่เกี๊ยว /Phi Giao/ (because she's a senior a year ahead of her), suggests that when it's just the two of them, Nao doesn't have to call her พี่ /Phi/, and starts referring to herself just by name, เกี๊ยว /Giao/ (her full name Gyoza is เกี๊ยวซ่า /Giao Saa/).
Manaow: งั้นเกี๊ยวเกิดเดือนไรอ่ะ /ngan Giao geert deuuan rai a/
So Manaow drops the พี่ /Phi/ right away and starts calling her เกี๊ยว /Giao/.
And just for completeness's sake: Manaow also refers to herself by name (นาว /Nao/) and Gyoza does so reciprocally (mostly นาว /Nao/ and sometimes มะนาว /Ma Nao/). So no pronouns, just names!
จีบ /jeep/ = pursue, court, flirt with (Funnily enough, a homonym of เกี๊ยว /Giao/, which means dumpling, is เกี้ยว /giao/, which also means to flirt, woo, etc. - I'll be waiting for this pun in a future episode lol)
Gyoza's reasoning for asking is that Manaow seems ห้าว ๆ เกินหญิง /haao haao geern ying/ = bold/daring/fierce for a woman
Kudos to Lada shamelessly flirting with Alee and calling him หนู /noo/ (= lit. mouse)!!
As a 2nd person pronoun it's usually used by someone much older to affectionately refer to a child or someone younger, implying that the person referred to is cute and smol like a mouse, basically. In the same vein it can sound patronizing too, though, especially coming from a stranger or someone who isn't much older.
They're the inverse of the shy younger girl and flirty pursuing older guy trope and I love that!
Sulking~
หายงอนแล้วใช่ไหม /haai ngaawn laaeo chai mai/ = You're not sulking anymore, right?
Just in case any potential reader has never seen a Thai series before this GL: 'Ngon' and 'Ngor', as they're often romanized, are a set of behaviors that are common in close relationships. That can be familial or between friends too but it's certainly most common in a romantic context and as a romance trope.
งอน /ngawn/ = sulking, pouting, acting displeased, huffy, slighted, petulant; can be playful or serious
ง้อ /ngaaw/ = reconcile, make up with; this can be lots of things tbh, i.e. hugging, apologizing, giving sth. to show care like Manaow does here, etc.
Flirty Puns, my beloved!
กินเกี๊ยวไหม /gin giao mai/ = Wanna eat the dumpling?
GIN GIAO MAI DJSDHSDJDSH okay now that that's out of my system- As we've established, Gyoza refers to herself as เกี๊ยว /Giao/, which means dumpling. And กิน /gin/ means consume, take, exploit, it's mostly used with food and drink though, hence it generally being translated as 'eat'. So:
กินเกี๊ยวไหม /gin Giao mai/ = Wanna eat me?
Sidenote: this specific dumpling here is เกี๊ยวทอด /giao thaawt/ = fried wonton/dumpling
#love senior the series#love senior#พี่ว้ากคะ รักหนูได้มั้ย#thai gl#local woman harps on about linguistics#this show is so fun and tropey! and it's in such high quality resolution!! ... i'm totally not side-eyeing gmmtv here or anything ehem#local woman harps on about love senior

yud kit baeb ni
Stop spiraling
yud kit loey
Stop snowballing
ruseuk dee tang ti, bpen kae peuan gan
Into the abyss of my one-sided feeling
yud wai kae ni
Stop this right away
yud wai loey
Stop this game you play
dai bprot ter ya len, geun bpai gwa nan
If you cross the line, it won't be fine
You text me day and night
mak geun gwa peuan kuan ja bpen
And it doesn’t seem right
len bpen huang chan mae nai reuang ti mai samkan
Too many times, committing friend-zone crimes
ter chop ma tam hai chan e, yang ngai
You make me feel like… wait, what?
ti len baeb ni nan man bplae, wa ngai
Getting too close the way friends should not
chan yang sapson lae song sai
I’m confused by how you act
bpen peuan gan dtong len baeb nai
You’re the code I can’t crack
*
dai dtae payayam ja mai kit arai
I can only try to stop thinking

Try to stop sinking
wela ti rao glai chit mak bpai
When you come too close

If we’re just friends

Don’t play both ends

If you lead me on, and I take up the baton

Will you be up for it?

Can I apply for a love permit?

Or can you stop being too friendly?

If you and I are never on the same page

Being too friendly is like putting my heart in a cage

AGI Open Summary - Week 8
over the two days of last week Monday and Tuesday the 18th and 19th I was given the chance to attend the open and experience world-renowned and recognised designers all thanks to Paul Shadbolt. This opportunity gave me the chance to better understand the processes behind their work and how they went from small freelance jobs to the top of the industry in their field. Hearing many different designers speak on their design processes and how they came to find their niche within the realm of being a creative helped me to understand it doesn't take just a few years to know where you want to specialise but sometimes a lifetime to know what field is best suited to you.
One of my top three speakers who crossed the stage and talked about their journey and creative processes was Kris Sowersby from Kilm. His whole talk was so Inspirational and personable to me. With his opening lines as a pakeha speaking and introducing himself in Te Rao Maori honouring his respect for the Maori language as he further talked to a project he was in the middle of working very closely with the Maori language and history. As a black-pin renowned Type designer from NZ he wanted to dig deeper into the root of Aotearoa. through his research and using Times New Roman as his base with the rationale being the British colonised NZ in a similar time frame. He showered his processes to develop the family of typefaces that held the characteristics he started out with. this was my favourite talk because it gave me a greater insight into the practice of typography in the modern age.
My second favourite talk was Stefan Sagmeister who opened his talk by looking deeply into his heritage and the family line dating back. This was the start of a personal project that he took into a more generalised outcome. looking through the timeline of the past 200-odd years and using famous artwork from those eras he started to link two and two together developing using facts within feminism, religion and significant dates to incorporate abstraction into these very traditional artworks, bringing a new light to the work with a new depth of meaning.
My third favourite talk was Dean Poole who is another NZ significant designer who studied at ELIM as a sculptor furthering the design industry pushing his way into the role of director or well well-known design agency Alt Group. Throughout his talk he talked about the partnership Alt group had with Fisher and Paykel working together in partnership to work on their experience centre. Throughout his speak he talked to his incorporation in the staging and setting of the experience centre going on to talk about the elements used and how they related to mother nature herself and the indigenous of NZ.
