Roland’s Rest outpost on Pandora. MAJOR SPOILERS AND A RANT FOLLOW . . Roland was mourned, memorialized, and honored. We were allowed to thoroughly process and accept his death. So why the fuck did we not only have to watch Maya die in the stupidest most undignified way but then were barely given time to acknowledge her death? The other characters are upset for like two minutes, and then BOOM, we’ve moved on. No mourning, no processing, no memorial, no honoring her contributions and sacrifice. BL3 just threw Maya in the trash for a lazy story reason and then blundered on ahead like she meant nothing to Gearbox, and like she wasn’t a major fan favorite and someone people really were able to love and relate to. I like that Maya was a huge part of their pre-release marketing. They knew how popular she was and used that to sell the game. And now she’s just gone. Where’s her fucking statue? Where’s her Crimson Raiders outpost? Where is ANYTHING that would acknowledge her importance to the series and to the story? Fucking nowhere. Thanks, @gearbox. At least Roland’s Rest is a pretty cool-looking location and makes for some good photos. So that’s something. .
