What a silly comparison... I couldn't help but share--I'm sure Evan and Tani will get a kick out of this.

Do we look so much alike to warrant a meme? I'll have to see what Doloran thinks of this. Maybe he'll laugh too? Maybe he'll be offended... Nah, he'll probably just boast about how we're "indeed one and the same" or something along those lines.

HEWWO HI IT ME After having not used Tumblr since probably 2016 I am RETURNED! ☆ I am a hobbyist occasional VTuber who makes my own assets and model, have tons of other hobbies like writing and jogging, voice acting semi-professionally, and I started the @roland-crane-leafbook blog because I am obsessed with Ni no Kuni 2 and needed an excuse to channel my inner isekai'ed Chief Consul of Evermore #1 Dad.

What's your go-to morning brew to start the day off? I can't say I shy away from tea or even hot cocoa from time to time, but I'm definitely a coffee drinker. If it's a fine quality, I can't say no to a good ol' trusty black cuppa joe... But admittedly, I could treat myself to a nice cold brew every once in a while. Splash some fresh sweet cream on top... That's the stuff. How about you?

Well anyways, back to the point of this post... I made a terrible mistake last night.

Against my better judgment, I allowed Evan to share some espresso with me, as we were pulling an all-nighter. The results were, pardon the pun... Catastrophic.

He insisted, reminding me that he was a king of an entire nation, which is fair. You know how agreeable of a kid Evan is, but there was a gentle defiance in his request that I couldn't find myself denying him a cup of the strong roast I had brewed.

At first he was fine. He perked up a bit in a few minutes, and we carried on our reading and discussion... But then the young Pettiwhisker Tildrum started to jitter. I was a little concerned it may have been too strong for the little guy, but before I could inquire he had lifted his cup to me. "May I have some more?", he asked... The wired stare in his eyes burned into my own, as I couldn't decline his request.

I had never in my entire stay here in Evan's world heard this boy talk so quickly and lengthy. It was as if the chattiest coffee demon from the bubbling latte levels of hell had seized his little soul. The boy would not stop rattling on, and I was reduced to nodding time to time to appease his restless banter. At the third cup I had to put my foot down... And not a moment too soon, for after three whole hours of Evan's caffeinated clamoring he finally crashed and fell asleep... Despite the chaos, it was sort of adorable seeing him conk out like that so abruptly.

Thankfully my duties today are light with the minor holiday going on. I have learned my lesson well... I don't think I'll let William have any coffee or energy drink until he is well into the workforce.

TW: ⚠️ Implied Blood + Injury (Shoulder), Both Text and Artwork

There was a time not too far out that I had been considerably injured by an arrow shot. It was thankfully not severe after all, just in the shoulder... But it was a harrowing, eye-opening moment, and all I could think about was my son, William.

In that moment, I thought I was going to die. In the heat of battle I was attacked and knocked down by the pain and impact. I was bleeding out, and I was scared I'd die here in this strange world and that I'd never see William again...

I can't say if I saw my life flash before my eyes or if I was only remembering vividly... Hah, well I guess they're the same thing in a sense, maybe...? Fading in and out of focus, consciousness, excruciating pain, and for a while there I was burning up and freezing all in the same moment... But William's face was all I could see.

The memories of Will growing up then flooded my mind. His first words he cooed and cackled between my late wife and myself, the masterpiece of smashed sweet potatoes all over his little fingers and spaghetti noodles draped over his ears and hair... His first spelling bee, his first picture book illustrated all on his own... He's gotten so big, about Evan's age now. His mother's sweet smile and his gentle eyes the same color as mine...

I vaguely recall hearing the medic's voice who had ran to my rescue with their team. I heard my name being called out countless times... Was it Evan's? Was it Will's?

I made it out alive after all. Thank my lucky stars my amazing allies saved my life, and I couldn't give up on them for all they've done for me. Healing and rehabilitation weren't especially fun, but healing magic sure comes in handy...

Will... Was that really you I saw that day?

If you're out there watching over me... I couldn't have asked for a better guardian angel.

Just kidding. It's my first time using Leafbook (Tumblr). I'm guessing this is more of a blog style social media than what I used to use back in Union. I don't miss the bird app, that's for sure...

Things have been going well in Evermore. Evan has grown so much as a person, and I'm proud to be apart of his newfound Kingdom. We couldn't ask for a better team, allies, and nation as a whole. I believe he's the key to building a whole new world of peace and prosperity like none other... And for that, I even envy the litle guy. (I say "Little", but I swear he must've almost grown a foot already this spring...!)
