not for fun! i reread them often but thats because ive got the old brain issues and need to make sure it was Actually Good and i wasnt just making shit up. usually it stands up to the few day gap i take before rereading it LOL

sometimes i have to go back through to crossreference stuff though (like walt) and its not that bad! just. the woes of writing a linear oneshot series i guess

houh shit. uh. god thats tough

not a fic but im a big fan of how the lotd events going so far! <- said as if im not forcing hex to do all of the creative decisions and i just do the dialogue. i just think its doing a great job

umm. i think i really like jakes edition to the taking care of series! and i also reeeally like the dialogue off of rogers even if the actual content itself is a little lacking! they call me thw dialoguerrrrr (<- half of the next edition in the series thus far is dialogue. how sexy. my bad chat)

Cape Maria van Dieman (1) (Motuopao)

1879. Inactive since 1941. This was a wood tower with lantern and gallery; only the wood base remains. The Department of Conservation has the photo at right and another photo on the cover of the heritage assessment for the lighthouse, Roger Boner has a very distant view, Peter Waworis has a similar view, and Google has a satellite view. The Department has placed a cap over the tower to protect it. Cape Maria van Diemen, facing the Tasman Sea, is the westernmost of the three points of land at the northern end of New Zealand, the other two being Cape Reinga and North Cape. Because of the difficulty in accessing and supplying the light station, the lighthouse was deactivated in 1941 and its lantern and lens transferred to a new tower at Cape Reinga (see below). Located on the summit of Motuopao Island off the point of the cape. Accessible only by boat. The island is a nature reserve closed to the public; the lighthouse is distantly visible from beaches on the mainland. Site and tower closed. Owner/site manager: N.Z. Department of Conservation (Motuopao Island Nature Reserve). ARLHS NZL-010.

🍠 How long does it take you to write one of your fics or a chapter/part?

let me check. sun falls was written in a day or two i think but that was years ago so i can’t remember. ummm. i think each entry for taking care of was written in like, a few days up to a week? ive lost my record of harrys bc apparently i reused an old doc, but jakes took 3 days apparently & rogers took 5 or 6. & the walt oneshot was done in a night or two because it was mostly a character study fueled by my godawful flareup. as for what im working on currently uh.

well its been rough. ive had other projects to work on. (+ writing ppl inebriated is HARD) as for active days ive worked on it id say ive spent like 4 or 5 days so far

🍙 Is there a fic you wish had gotten more attention?

honestly the jake one mostly bc i rlly like jake and think it works well as a character study. were ignoring everything else about it rn im in it for the CHARACTERIZATION. but jakes an unpopular character unless ur in The Bubble of ppl who like jake so. shrugs!

im pretty preemptively scared for how my next one will do? because its walt. nobody cares or thinks about walt. but im doing this shit myself ok. ppl will think about that guy by hook or by crook

also not necessarily fic but i wish a few of the phoney related asks on lotd got more eyes on them. guuuys the foreshadowiiiing dont we love roger and jake :( come ooonnnnn lets think abt someone other than dave <- so very silly. i love to think about dave

in general though i am astounded when my shit gets ANY attention whatsoever like i keep finding ppl talking abt my work in the wild and it ASTONISHES me each and every goddamn time. so im happy w anything

🍘 Is there a fic or idea for a fic that you've abandoned?

lets go look at a wonderful place i have dubbed my fic graveyard: my notes app!

most of these go here to die because i write them at 1am and they are illegible. this does not make sense because i also write my fics at 1am but whatever! that first one also may be familiar because it is copy paste smth i said in phonecord.

as for ones i actually started / made it past the drawing board, i had a few for miscellaneous fandoms that i just kind of got performance anxiety on. shoutout my npmd time loop fic you wouldve been so cool. sad im never revisiting that! heres an excerpt from a ypwd one

1928. Active (privately maintained); focal plane 49 ft (15 m); red light, 2 s on, 2 s off. 45 ft (14 m) square skeletal tower rising from a square 1-story base. Fog horn (2 s blast every 20 s). GLLKA's blog has a photo (last photo on the page), and Google has a satellite view. Since 1912 the Port of Calcite has served the world's largest open-pit limestone quarry. Located at the end of the breakwater, about 1.5 mi (2.5 km) southeast of Rogers City. Site and tower closed. Owner/site manager: Michigan Limestone and Chemical Company. USCG 7-11610.

Forty Mile Point

1897 (Milton B. Adams). Active; focal plane 66 ft (20 m); white light, 3 s on, 3 s off. 52 ft (16 m) square cylindrical brick tower with lantern and gallery attached to 2-1/2 story brick duplex keeper's house. Tower painted white, lantern roof black. A 4th order Henri LePaute Fresnel lens (1872) has been in use here since 1935. Original brick fog signal building, oil house, and other light station buildings. Anderson has a good page for the lighthouse, Pepper has an excellent web page, the Coast Guard has a 1913 photo, and Google has a satellite view. Sibling of Big Bay Point Light on Lake Superior (see Western Upper Peninsula). The surrounding property was conveyed to Presque Isle County as a park in 1971, and the county assumed responsibility for maintaining the buildings. In 1998 ownership of the buildings was also transferred to the county, which then organized a preservation society to work for restoration of the lighthouse. The society has a resident caretaker who lives in an apartment in the keeper's house; the rest of the house is a museum. Volunteer keepers serve as docents during the summer and receive free camping privileges in the surrounding county park. Located in a county park off US 23 about 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Rogers City. Site open, museum open daily except Mondays from Memorial Day weekend (late May) through early October, tower closed except for occasional open houses. Owner: Presque Isle County (Lighthouse Park). Site manager: 40 Mile Point Lighthouse Society . ARLHS USA-303; USCG 7-11715.

1971 (station established 1935). Active; focal plane 36 m (118 ft); continuous white light, intensified on the range line. 35 m (115 ft) 12-sided concrete tower with a large lantern structure. Tower is unpainted gray concrete, lantern painted green. Werning has a good photo, Trabas has a photo, Karl Golhen has a photo of the lighthouse and the French Navy helicopter carrier Mistral, and Google has a street view and a fine satellite view. This is the entrance range for Le Havre. The Quai d'Escale is one of the major quays of Le Havre, located southeast of the breakwaters; the lighthouse is located adjacent to the city's Cruise Welcome Centre. Site open, tower closed. ARLHS FRA-764; Admiralty A1260; NGA 8632.
