a few close friends-- that said, she was honestly just fairly adverse to putting down the roots necessary to *get* to know people very well. roger kind of forced the issue by insulting her pride (so she wouldn't leave him alone) AND refusing to take a hint (so he wouldn't leave her alone). he did that to a lot of people. lol.

🍎 RED APPLE — where was your oc born? do they still live in/around their place of birth or do they live somewhere else? how do they feel about their birthplace?

right now in the one piece universes own dating system it is ~1520, iirc? we don't have a specific year so i'm not going to try. anyway-- due to the absurd logistics of oda refusing to let woman look old, even shakkey (late 60s), i am choosing to believe she was ~49 when she gave birth to ace-- roger was dead at 53, 2 years prior, making her ~47 at the time she realized she was pregnant. the portgas family just historically ages really absurdly well. rouge is smug about this. she was born in baterilla, in the south blue, though she left in her teenage years to go adventuring (settling on bounty hunting as her lifelong career fairly soon after she left). she had fond memories of it, though, even if she couldn't stay-- there was a reason she somewhat self indulgently brought roger here when his health began deteriorating in earnest and he had scattered the crew. (ace was not planned.) (oops.)
