Stella Artois has changed its name to Isabella Artois for Women Empowerment

For the first time in over 600 years, beer brand Stella Artois has changed its name to Isabella Artois. The company teamed up with advertising agency CP+B Brazil to launch a temporary rebrand in March as ‘Isabella Artois’ to shed light on Isabella Artois, who took over the role of CEO after the death of her husband back in 1726. Thousands followed the 47th Prix de Lausanne Finals at the Beaulieu Theatre online through the live streaming. This year, the daily sessions – almost 6 hours live per day – have been watched more than 562 530 times on ARTE Concert, YouTube, Facebook as well as on the Prix de Lausanne website. For the second year, the Selections and Finals were live streamed in China and commented by Chi Cao, Prize Winner at Lausanne in 1994. The Selections have been watched more than 1,199,322 times.

At the end of the Finals, the jury, presided this year by the ballet star and Gold Medal of the Prix de Lausanne 1990, Carlos Acosta, selected eight Prize Winners from among the 21 Finalists. Thanks to their scholarships, these eight dancers will have the opportunity to enter one of the partner schools and companies of the Prix de Lausanne. Yesterday, Sunday 10 February 2019, the candidates took part in the Networking Forum, to meet representatives of the partner institutions.

Prix de Lausanne’s contemporary selections in the past few years suddenly made quick progress in not being so artifcially tied to gender

Gender-neutral is the majority of choices now, and then half of the gender-restricted ones are specifically breaking convention as this photo (richard wherlock’s ‘swan lake’)

Some are totally same ‘neutral’ choreo and/or costuming for everyone, one is described as choreographically ‘an amalgamation of Alina Cojocaru’s solo and Edward Watson’s part’, one has directions of ‘the candidates can choose the girl’s or boy’s costume as in the video‘ - none of this was here just a few years ago.
