Slow motion "Rock, Paper, Scissors"

Sorry I don't have any interesting posts from the weekend.  I went out Friday night with co-workers and was in no good condition Saturday.  But it rained all day which is just as well.  Then on Sunday, I had another lazy day, did stuff around the house only to get out to go for a run and a bit of a walk around the neighbourhood.

So in lieu of some pictures, I will tell you another hilarious story:

You'll recall from a couple of posts back, I had karma kick me in the nuts (literally and figuratively).. so I'm not sure what I'll get for this one.

I have to preface this story by saying that during the school day we often get the kids to sing some basic songs like London Bridge is Falling Down, Humpty Dumpty, etc.  To mix it up I  get the kids to sing really fast or really slow and they seem to love it...

We all know the game Rock, Paper, Scissors (which they call Rock, Scissor Paper and they look at you funny if you call it anything else).  We had some down time over lunch, so I began to play it with some of the kids.  I haven't had the heart to tell them I can predict most of the time what they will pick.  There is one kid who always cycles through rock, then scissors, then paper,.. 100% of the time.  There were about 7 kids and they all wanted to play against me.  So just like the singing, I got them to speed up the game so I could get as many rounds in as possible against them all.  After a while I decided to mix it up and I got them to slow it down so that we were going in slow motion.  This is where it got good.  Think about how you play the game at regular speed; you are showing your move has you hand is dropping.  But because its going so fast its almost impossible to determine what your opponent is playing in time for you to react, so you just go with your gut instinct.  Now imagine 6 year old kids doing this in slow motion.  Their hands are coming down in slow motion and they were showing me exactly what they were going to put out.  I would throw out a symbol that beat them each time.  We went around the circle 2 or 3 times before they caught on.  And I think they only caught on because I was literally dying laughing. 

Any thoughts on how Karma will get me back on this one?

Retail therapy

I am all about bicycle therapy (riding my bike until I feel better).  However, the accident has left me a little sore and out of the game for a few days, so I am doing the next best thing.  Bicycle retail therapy.  I just bought some happy bike stuff from www.rockscissorpaper.com.  And I have no buyer's remorse as everything was 20% off in honor of National Bike Month!
