I Heart Moosiq:  So, I want to start off with your stage name. After seeing you for the first time and hearing you play Weezer “Undone - The Sweater Song” I concluded that’s what your name came from. After seeing the video for Glory Days that cemented my theory. However, the genesis of your name stems from your original alias of “Sweaters”.

Sweater Beats: Yeah, “Sweaters”. And if we want to go real deep my name before that was “I Sweat Everybody”. Just because I was trying to rip off everyone’s music. I was learning and that’s just how I would learn to produce, trying to make Timberland beats or Pharrell beats. So yeah, “I Sweat Everybody”, but I also like “Sweaters” because I make music to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

I Heart Moosiq: Do a lot of people make that misconception that your name stems from Weezer-fandom?

Sweater Beats: You know what, you are the first. But I really do like Weezer.

I Heart Moosiq: I originally thought you were from LA, then saw something saying you were Brooklyn based, but also that you grew up in what, D.C.?

Sweater Beats: Born in Manila, moved here when I was like 8. And yeah, grew up in D.C. area. Rockland, Maryland if anyone knows where that is. Moved to Brooklyn for school.

Sweater Beats: Yeah. And I’ve only lived in L.A. for about two years.

I Heart Moosiq: Does living in multiple places like you have make it easier to go on the road for tour?

Sweater Beats: Umm, yeah. A little. Like when I went back to D.C. and Brooklyn it’s like, good memories.

I Heart Moosiq: Like going back home.

Sweater Beats: Yeah, I knew my way around. But those are only like three places.

I Heart Moosiq: I went to Brooklyn for web design? Or graphic design?

Sweater Beats: Media studies is what it officially says on my diploma. I knew how to make websites.

I Heart Moosiq: So when you put out music do you contribute a lot to the artwork or do you have any say in that?

Sweater Beats: I do like to have like my own direction. Because I know what I like and what I don’t like. And with that we hire our artists or people who share the vision that I’m into. It usually just stuff that I’m in the mood for and sending that to an artist.

Sweater Beats: No, I think I’ve lost touch with the new languages. I could make a very basic website.

I Heart Moosiq: You released an EP “Cloud City” which focused on sky and clouds. “For The Cold”, ironically released in July, I would say is based off the cold. What’s the next theme you want to tackle?

Sweater Beats: Well… hahaha… uhh. Well, there’s no EP coming. There’s just a bunch of singles, but I’ve been toying with this one like bratty anthemic sound with my next few singles. So I don’t know how to put that in a visual thing but the sound thing. Haha, we’ll wait and see.

I Heart Moosiq: We’ll just call it a “dinger”.

Sweater Beats: Hahaha, yes. We’ll call it a “dinger”.

The most prudent move would be for regulators to scale back the fishery so the ocean food web is protected, said Zach Cockrum, Northeast director of Conservation Partnerships at the National Wildlife Federation.

“Forage fish are so important to larger species and predators that we need to be doing more,” he said. “It’s time to get some rules into place.”

The Atlantic herring fishery is based mostly in New England, with boats coming to shore in cities like Rockland, Maine, and Gloucester, Massachusetts.
