The first page shows two sets of wolf scat (1/2 size), one set of coyote scat (1/2 size), two sets of kit fox scat (2/3 size), one set of grey fox scat (1/2 size), and three sets of red fox scat (two at 1/2 size and one at 1/4 size) drawn by E T Seton. The first wolf scat has a claw scratch next to it.

The second page contains the notes on the drawings:

"All but 4, 5, and 9 are about half natural size.

1. Wolf, very large. Banks of Athabaska River, Oct. 19, 1907. Chiefly of Rabbit fur. The scratch mark or signature was very plain.

2. Wolf. Algonquin Park, Ontario, Aug. 18, 1922. A solid mass of Deer hair.

3. Coyote. Philadelphia Zoo, Feb 7, 1924.

4. Kit-fox. Philadelphia Zoo, Feb 7, 1924.

5. Kit-fox. Philadelphia Zoo, Feb 7, 1924.

6. Gray-fox. Philadelphia Zoo, Feb 7, 1924.

7. Red-fox. Quebec, 40 miles east of Kippewa, Sept. 5, 1905. Composed almost entirely of Mouse fur, with some of Redsquirrel and Chipmunk.

8. Red-fox. Yellowstone Park, July 5, 1897. Chiefly of soft, dark fine fur, probably from Yellow Rockchuck.

9. English Red-fox. Essex, England, Jan. 21, 190y. Noted chiefly on account of the unmistakeable claw-mark signature."

I saw a rockchuck (aka yellow-bellied marmot, Marmota flaviventris) while I was on my way to a second interview the other day. It galumphed across the road and made me go “what the fuck is that - is that a mustelid of some kind? Raccoon maybe?”

Nope, just a big ol’ ground squirrel. It ducked under that building there before I could get a good picture of its face, but rockchucks are the only things that look even remotely like that around here, and I did see a distinctive set of Rodent Chompers when it looked around at me.

A weird dream I had last night

So I had an odd dream last night and there was more to it, I just can't remember. Basically what happened was that I was at the SCP Foundation and I'm pretty sure I was an anomaly. I was just vibing with Dr. Clef in a lab, and Bright and Kondraki might have been there? I can't remember, but I think that seems about right.

Anyways, a rockchuck (which is a marmot, that's the slang used where I live for them) came out of the floor (keep in mind, we're in a lab still) and everyone gets angry including me. We're all yelling at it, then Clef pulls a madlad move and tries to straight up fucking shoot it with his shotgun.

All the while, even when Clef is doing Doom Slayer on the rockchuck's ass and we're yelling at it, I'm just chilling on a fuzzy blue couch.

It was really weird. Guess my hate of rockchucks is manifesting in my dreams now too.

Man today was a shit sandwich until the sun set. At that point the kind lady next door who lost her husband last month came over, I thought it was help to move or get stuff for here, no problem. NOPE! She tells be her husband would like to me have some things of his, I was struck speechless and she would not take no as an answer. A full RCBS Rockchucker, dies for .380 and .357/.38spc, a Lee powder throw, a Lee and RCBS scale sets, and some other miscellaneous reloading items. I already have a full RCBS set up that I have been using for decades, so I am not sure what I will do with that one. There was also several hundred .380, 500+ .357 mag, more than 1100 .38 spc (I stopped counting at 1,100.), .308, 3030, old .22LR and a pile of firearms parts. I have never done enough side work for this nice woman to deserve all this. I tried to pay her, she refused, like my Ma' always says "Pick you battles, but remember you'll never win one against a determined woman." I thanked her as kindly as I could, it still felt weak and shallow.

I miss reloading. It's the only thing I haven't been able to continue doing since the baby was born and we moved into this new place. Maybe once we move again I will be able to put the bench back together.

I've always wondered what a pokemon region based off of Oregon would be like, since it's my home state. Imagine what a rockchuck pokemon could be! Land beaver!

I had to look up what a rock chuck is, and it is one of the more adorable animals I've ever seen and I want a Pokémon for it.
