First few days of pride month are over. I have something special planned for some posts this month! LGBTQ+ Allegories in Fire Emblem Games!

First on the list, Robin from Fire Emblem Awakening. Their story line is a very transgender heavy one. They don’t even have to be transgender to fit the allegory made for them.

Robin’s father, Validar has a predetermined thing in mind for how his child is to live their life and how he wants them to be and that is a vessel for Grima. But Robin wants a different path. They chose to not be a vessel for Grima due to finding friends that support and love them and that helps Robin have a safe haven to find out who they are / want to be. With the Shepherds, Robin is their own person, smart, brave, a little stupid, manipulative when it’s called for, chaotic, a listener, friend, partner and parent. With their father, aka Validar, all they would be is Grima’s vessel, or just Grima in general.
