The Big Road Trip!

Hello! Tomorrow I commence THE BIG ROAD TRIP.

What?

The Big Road Trip is a drive up the Alaska Highway from Seattle to Anchorage, scheduled to take 8-9 days.

Why??

Because it's there! I've done this drive before with family, but never solo, and after getting laid off for the second time in less than a year at the end of April* this seemed like a good time to finally do this thing I've been wanting to do for a while.

How?

I'm taking @nanosquid's '95 Roadtrek Popular, which is a supremely cute self-contained 19.5' RV! This is not it but the same type 👇🏻

I probably should've put more thought into meal planning, but oh well, I'll figure it out! The great thing about the Alaska Highway is that while there are long stretches that are pretty isolated, I'll be able to access services reasonably regularly. I have my Milepost and iOverlander, plus I'm borrowing a Starlink.

And because I know a lot of people on a lot of different social platforms, I'm going to probably use this here Tumblr blog as my central posting point for pictures and progress! Feel free to follow along, or to mute "#the big road trip 2024" to do the opposite.
