Warm welcome to PM Jacinda Arden and her delegation as they arrived in Singapore for her official visit last week. 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇸🇬🇸🇬 Her official VIP transporter is the Boeing 757-2K2 ‘Kiwi Pencil’ operated by 40 Squadron ‘Ki nga hau e wha’ (To the four winds). This squadron operates a mix of 2 B757 and 5 C-130H transport aircraft that fulfil the air transport needs of the New Zealand Defence Force (@nzdefenceforce). Singapore and NZ relations are extremely strong with connections that go way back to WW2 where Kiwi fighter pilots confronted the Japanese invasion forces over the skies of Singapore and Malaya. New Zealand armed forces detachments continued to be deployed in Singapore right up till the early 1990s to help maintain the security of the region. Both countries continue together as members of the Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA) along with Australia, UK and Malaysia.
