BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi (69) and Mukesh Rajput (56), who were injured during a heated altercation between members of the Opposition INDIA bloc and the ruling NDA in Parliament premises, have been discharged from Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital. The scuffle, which took place on December 19, reportedly stemmed from a dispute over the alleged insult to BR Ambedkar. The BJP accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of pushing Sarangi during the altercation, a claim strongly denied by the Congress. Sarangi, MP from Odisha’s Balasore, and Rajput, MP from Uttar Pradesh’s Farrukhabad, suffered head injuries in the incident. Both were admitted to RML Hospital, where they were kept under ICU observation before being shifted to a general ward on December 21. Rajput’s personal assistant stated that the MP experienced dizziness and a heavy head on Monday. Due to the overwhelming number of patients at RML Hospital, doctors advised the MPs to seek further care at Noida’s Kailash Hospital. “The condition of both MPs is stable and much improved. They have been discharged and are advised rest,” said a senior doctor from RML Hospital. Background of the Scuffle: The incident occurred at the Makar Dwar entrance of Parliament, where INDIA bloc members, insisting on using a specific route to enter Parliament, encountered BJP MPs staging a protest. The confrontation escalated, leading to the injuries of Sarangi and Rajput. The BJP alleged that Opposition members acted provocatively, resulting in the injuries. However, the Opposition has dismissed the claims, accusing the ruling party of attempting to deflect attention from critical issues being discussed in Parliament. As the political blame game continues, the scuffle has drawn widespread condemnation from citizens, with calls for greater decorum and restraint within Parliament premises.
