#rlly underrated vocaloid producer

whenever ppl say that producers never use underrated synths, i just stare at my giant ass playlists. granted, yes, there are more songs with miku in there, and she takes up 40% of it

but what most ppl don't realize is that what i love doing is whenever i find a producer, at some point, i will queue up almost all of their songs not using miku (or even at times extremely popular loids like the kagamines or gumi unless they mostly use them) and listen to almost everything they have to offer. because i know that there is going to be a song i like with an underrated vocaloid there

not to mention, if you actually check out producers who do use major vocal synths, there's still always songs where they use a different one at least once, twice or even use them as their go-to synth. examples like *luna, kasamura toota, tokotoko, circusp, etc (there's more, but this post is already getting long and those four came to mind first)

they are all actually using vocal synths outside of miku and co sometimes and no one rlly talks abt that. i know not many ppl actively try to find original songs with synths this way, but believe me, it's rlly fun

Do you have a favorite vocaloid?

hm… it used to be meiko but ive kind of grown past that, it was a little bit just being contrarian and nowadays i realize her voice can be a bit harsh on the ears. honestly its reallyyy hard to pick a definitive favorite since i like them all for different reasons (character design? fanon personality? the voice itself/using it in my own songs or covers? other producers’ songs that use that voice?)

if im totalling all of those id say…. maaaybe gumi and/or miku. but again its rlly hard to pick a definitive one. my other favs would be rin, flower, IA, kaai yuki and kafu i think ^^ mostly the popular ones lol but they are for a reason

also i will vouch forever that mayu is the most underrated/underused vocaloid. she deserves to be up there with the most well known ones but she had her moment and kind of fell off which is so sad bc her voice is soooo good and would work so well with the modern trends in jploid

my favorite underrated vocaloid songs once again with commentary. i dont know how underrated things actually are bc i dont interact with the vocaloid community but yknow how it is

the goat. i have never seen anybody talk about this song ever. the mv has so little views and half the streams on spotify are probably me. the songs about an abused child begging to be loved so beware if you search the mv or lyrics up.

i just realized both these songs were by tohru-ch. they make good songs! another underrated classic. the mv is sick if you manage to find it. this producer is a rin master in my opinion. this song is about how bad capitalism is and the vocals are amazing. nandemo nandemo nandemo. the desperation they managed to infuse into rins voice is so impressive and the guitar is impressive. ive been listening to this song since a very young age like ten. why was i listening to this at ten. piano goes crazy as well

i owe this one to the ex mutual who made a playlist for my fanfic and eventually blocked me. thank you for this absolute banger. i forget what the lyrics to this one mean and the mv isnt much its just kinda green stuff. goes exceptionally hard i cant tell whos singing but its still fantastic. i love the guitar that kinda sounds like rubber bands strapped to cardboard. that sounds weird but listen youll see.

i dont think this ones actually underrated since pinas pretty popular (rats died is too famous for me to put on here even though its a masterpiece). when i saw melissa covered it i died and ascended to heaven. the mv is fantastical and dizzying, and the song is perfectly melancholic. i really like the ooo singing in the background. i have had this song on repeat for an excessively long period. im very surprised it wasnt in my wrapped top five. saa saa saa saa saa saa

yummy music. it makes me do the dance of the sidestep in that one gif with ariel and other things. the wind instrument in it is really nice an the guitar is kicking. i just love rin and len i think. why are these all rin. except weeny idk who sings weeny. woukdnt be surprised if it was rin

i wouldnt call powapowas music underrated but this song has made me cry many a time. i prefer the version i found on soundcloud it has more of a miku sound but this song makes me want to get a lobotomy. young girl a is also a good one but no way is that underrated

YOU NO SAY I LOVE!!!!!!!! i dont know how to express my thoughts further it just bangs so fucking hard. just as a btw it speeds up at the end which can be scary so heads up

i dont think this one is actually underrated im going by no metrics this list is just my opinion. it may not be underrated but it slaps and i played it on loop when i was in seventh grade and playing overwatch. not the best gaming music it just makes you really sad

banger. i love teto soooo much. somewhat peppy until you read the lyrics but even still its a tad melancholic. be warned the bleeps in the song are rlly loud lol. get this in project sekai so ome of those trainwrecks can sing it

probably not underrated it seems too well produced for that. i like the laughs at the beginning. i cant remember where but i laid on the floor for a long time listening to this song

miku is 😍😍 lots of her songs are bangers + she's like the most popular vocaloid so how can you not like her?? tbh i kind of favour len over rin though that might be because i love the song migikata no chou 🤪🤪

my favourite has got to be gumi!! i love everything about her, her design, her voice, her carrot 😋 plus, one of my first vocaloid songs was matryoshka (with gumi and miku) and i just loved how her voice matched with the theme of the song,, i also really like kaito, the authenticity in his voice just hits different and the same way you think with luka, i like to think if him as the older brother :)

IN TERMS OF UTAITE, OFC, MAFUMAFU AND SORARU ARE SUPERIOR /lh i remember listening to their cover of roki on loop during history class once HDHSJD but i also really enjoy nqrse and miyashita yuu! both are kind of underrated in my opinion, but they're both amazing, and their vocal ranges are eye opening! and also, reol! her songs are so different /pos and it's so fun to see her grow in popularity 😩🙏

Vocaloid Iceberg 7: Maybe The Last One

the kisagari station song-a song based off the creepypasta kisagari station. best known for having no title and a channel with no name, making it nigh impossible to search for. the video includes the words welcome to the cult at the end of it in the captions. two versions of the song were posted. one is sung by a human, while the other is sung by a vocaloid, possibly vflower.

daijbou-p-a fairly obscure producer known for his strange songs and videos. some of his works are The Face, Jisastu Shoujo, and What Can We Do, all of which are fairly dark and disturbing.

daisy bell-the song sung by the first singing computer, ibm074. In the vocaloid community, some have referred to this computer as miku’s grandpa which i honestly find rlly sweet.

vocaloid opera the end-the first and only opera starring hatsune miku. It’s a 2 hour long opera shown on a projection screen. It can be viewed on YouTube. The outfits for the performance were designed by Louis Vuitton. The opera centers on Miku receiving the news that she will die by a mysterious doppelgänger. The opera is miku trying to figure out the meaning of her life, and is a very trippy experience, but also something i find highly underrated.
