Truthfully, he thought he might be hallucinating at first. He was a bit drunk, coming home from the bar in the dead of night, and he was also extremely tired so he couldn't write it off as /not/ a hallucination with all these factors in play.

               she tells him quietly. and she truely believed it. the first to come to mind are her friends and her family, granny and ed and al and den, and the friends that they’ve made. but there were other things too, soft breezes among the wildflowers. birds chirping on spring mornings, or the silence following a fresh snow. the crunch of leaves under her boots or the look on ed and al’s face after she made an apple pie. all of them were worth living for. 

              bright blue eyes following the flow of the river, watching as it twists through rocks and turns over pebbles. it never ceases, sure it slows but it’s always there. pushing forward, just like her.

fresh new area to catalog my riverlost thoughts. here is what we have so far.

major plane crash survivors:

betty cooper: the kate austen of riverlost. a fugitive who has been on the run since she was 15 after murdering her father and his mistress in a gas explosion that was made to look like an accident until alice and polly turned her in. she was subsequently framed for hal’s series of black hood murders after the fact and has been fleeing the fbi for the past 10 years until finally being caught in new zealand squatting at the farmhouse of american heiress laurie lake

veronica and chadwick gekko: a married couple traveling for business. veronica quickly discovers her father was involved with shady business dealings on the island when crates of supplies labeled “LODGE” fall from the sky, but as she is in the passenger manifest under her married surname, she must keep this a secret from the other passengers to avoid them turning on her in a panic. chad dies early season 1 by falling out of a tree and veronica turns to betty for comfort

archie andrews and jughead jones: recently reunited childhood best friends returning from a bro trip together after jughead won the lottery. immediately after paying jellybean’s way into film school and bailing his dad out of jail, the third thing jughead did after winning the lottery was call up archie to take whatever the riververse equivalent of the lord of the rings tour is together. dorky best bro things. archie is a retired army vet who was dishonorably discharged from The Football War and grew up next to betty up until they were 15. his dad was non-fatally shot in the black hood attacks but archie has never believed that betty did it. the fundamental jarchie conflict of riverlost is between archie, who is seeking a way to get himself and his fellow survivors off the island off the island, and jughead becomes more embroiled in the mystery of the island and more insistent that the island wants them to stay

josie mccoy and kevin keller: a has-been popstar and her talent manager-slash-stepbrother en route to their parents’ 10 year vow renewal. after news of the plane crash breaks, the pussycats experience a surge of new public interest and begin topping the charts again. josie finds herself in the midst of a love triangle between reggie and sweet pea on the island while kevin becomes more and more desperate to get off the island

cheryl blossom: the only known surviving heiress of the blossom maple empire. cheryl was traveling with her twin brother jason, who died immediately in the plane crash. they were attempting to flee their family, but were unwittingly put on the plane by clifford blossom knowing it would go down. a traumatized cheryl begins experiencing psychic premonitions while on the island

toni topaz: a pregnant physical therapist traveling with her friends, who were seated in the back of the plane and are separated from her for the first 48 days on the island after the crash. unbeknownst to anyone but herself, toni’s baby was immaculately conceived. she received a frightening ominous warning from an old woman in the grocery store the day before boarding the plane

reggie mantle: a private security guard hired by hiram lodge to keep tabs on the gekkos who quickly becomes romantically entangled with josie after the crash and becomes distracted from his intended assignment

tabitha and pop tate: the CEO of an international restaurant chain and her grandfather, traveling to see an extraterrestrial expert to make sense of strange phenomena reported at several pop’s locations

Season 1 RiverLost arcs

archie gets attacked by a polar bear on day one

among the injured is a US marshal traveling with several guns on his person who was bringing a dangerous fugitive back to the states. when the marshal dies of his injuries before revealing the name of the fugitive, tensions among the group rise as they begin to wonder which one of them could be the deranged, psychotic killer they were warned about (it’s betty)

cheryl, traumatized by losing her brother in the crash, immediately co-dependently attaches herself to toni and helps deliver her baby

josie and reggie, both confident they will be rescued soon, begin a casual island fling that blossoms into something more as they adjust to the idea that help is not coming

jughead VERY quickly succumbs to island derangement syndrome, chasing things in the woods and yelling at the sky and unburying hatches

veronica fights with her failhusband chad and in an effort to prove his masculinity, chad joins jughead on his mission to unbury an underground hatch with dynamite. chad explodes himself by falling out of a tree holding dynamite. a distraught and guilty veronica turns to betty for comfort

archie and munroe try to build a raft both for practicality and team-building reasons. kevin and moose join in. actually i think i said earlier munroe was in the tail section but i changed my mind he’s in archie’s section

it’s very like. as a richboy trophy husband chadwick feels very emasculated by the island because his money has no value there. he is surrounded by ripped hunks chopping wood for fire and hauling rocks to make a sign and he’s like i need to make myself useful and prove to veronica that i am an Alpha Male. so he goes into the jungle with jughead to explore the hatches and talk to the trees and immediately trips and gets blown up by dynamite. the epic tragedy of chadhead

i’m not gonna lie there is poignant charged chadhead bait in the first season of riverlost before chadwick gets blown up by dynamite. and there is probably also going to be a heated moment later on where veronica publicly insinuates in front of the entire camp that jughead fucked her late husband
