Guess who’s BACK?! Mighty Mo Mistletoe was the first of the pigs to brave the new trailer ramp and the ride home from our evacuation property in Auburn!!! He and six of his buddies have been staying there since the #riverfire in August. They had a beautiful pasture and creek and lots of love from our board member, @dianapope238 and her husband Glenn who we appreciate more than words can say! Because of all of YOU, we were able to fund over $1900 for a used trailer ramp that we had professionally welded to the back of the trailer by @sundownertrailers in Auburn. They did an amazing job, redoing the entire bumper and door so that it fits perfectly and adding a bolted on, non-slip mat for the animals. Thank you, Dalton! We’ve been doing some positive reinforcement and exposure training (with vegan donuts! 🍩) to get the pigs comfortable using the ramp and being in the trailer. A few are still afraid because they associate it with having to evacuate during the fire, but we are making progress! Mo is happy to be home at @blackberrycreek and Percival (who returned home from his evac spot with Animal Services in mid-August) is so happy to have a pig friend back!
