“Including myself?” Kouichi rubbed at his wrists with a wry smile, leaning back against the slightly younger brother as bruises started to blossom where his skin had hit some hard surface or another. The warrior ached with anger, fists clenched against the flow of blood over knuckles where Kouichi twisted his long sleeves in his fingers as if to keep himself from falling apart.

Prone to rage, fighting was just a way Kouichi could keep control - and the pain helped the boy to stay present in the world. Of course, Kouichi could still admire Kouji’s valor, which was why the elder pressed a kiss to his twin’s cheek.

“Thank you, Kouji.”

Your muse walks in on mine in the bathtub, covered in wounds. Send “Bandages” for my muses reaction to yours pulling them out of the tub and beginning to bandage their wounds.

“Ow, ow - Kouji! Careful...”

He wanted to chide his brother, but the words effectively died on his lips at the lost puppy dog look Kouji gave him. Kouichi was weak to those icy eyes, trying to stay strong but so deeply hurt. As if Kouichi’s wounds were Kouji’s own - only on the inside. Or something poetic along those lines.

Kouichi couldn’t stare for long and instead turned his head away from the bright light that was his brother. He bit his lip against every ache as Kouji wrapped him up - the wounds mostly residing around his chest. And here he was feeling stupid for getting caught like this...

“Sorry,” was the only other thing he said, otherwise embarrassed.

Kouichi hunched into his twin, shivering as shadows sprouted around to offer its comfort. But despite the welcome of Kouji’s arms and his spirit’s element, tears trailed over the dark warrior’s cheeks like ink, blackening and blackening...

Kouichi couldn’t say what happened; he couldn’t speak, revealed to his brother as brokenhearted and weak. Kouji of course didn’t need the elder to say anything to wrap his sibling close and whisper reassurances akin to the way he’d called Kouichi from death, his words consoling and sweet.

But the older brother felt like he wanted to die; betrayal working a knot into his bones until he was swallowed up. The jealous rage made him unable to breath, and should his emotions corrupt the Spirits once more, Duskmon might hold the power enough to destroy the world. Or at least he now had a reason.

Kouji’s comfort worked hard to quell the upset in Kouichi, who’s spirit only stilled as he fell into a fitful sleep. He dreamed of Ken Ichijouji, which would have otherwise been a happy dream - but knowing he would eventually wake onto the nightmare where his boyfriend was cheating, Kouichi weeped.

Kouichi was curled in the messy shadows of his bedroom, arms hugging ‘round his legs with his knees drawn up under his chin and a cloud overcoming him. The warrior hated to feel this way; succumbing to pity and wallowing in misery, out of sight of anyone else. Because Kouichi wanted just as badly as his loved ones wanted for him to be able to enjoy this life to its fullest especially in thanks to the miracle that brought him back for a second chance...

But there was no life without ups and downs; like a heartbeat monitor, to be stagnant was to die. Now just happened to be one of those times when Kouichi was so low that the darkness seemed vast and great within himself and he was overrun with emotion. The Dark Ocean, that evil place, threatening to swallow him and everyone around him up; so he hid himself away and alone.

Usually Kouichi was strong enough and could rely on his friends, his brother, and his spirits to fight with him and prove to himself if not others that darkness could be good and was necessary... but now the twin’s utter weakness was showed in the form of falling into a pit of despair.

From which he was deftly pulled up by his brother’s strong arms lifting him and wrapping around his shoulders, head tucking in close to his own so their words of whispered promises were private enough for him alone. Everything that Kouichi could ever ask for, which he didn’t usually ask for much, Kouji spoke like he read every wish his heart had ever desired right out of a book.

So Kouichi leaned in to better appreciate what the world had to offer him: his twin.

Lopmon was picking flowers for Salamon when he sensed the Light. He knew the presence of all the Legendary warriors, even if he didn’t always know their names, each one sent a unique feeling through him, sensations that weren’t easy to explain. This one, the Warrior of Light, felt like a warmth deep inside, comfortable and reassuring.

But at the same time, Lopmon always felt a little on edge around this warrior, and the Warrior of Fire. He knew in his previous life, those two had been the ones that defeated and purified him, a necessary step in saving the world as a whole, but still it wasn’t easy facing those two. Although whether it was an innate fear of a child meeting his former murderers or simply shame from knowing what he’d done to force them to those measures, Lompon wasn’t even sure himself.

He turned toward the approaching figure, clutching the flowers in front of him like a shield, but still smiled. Those feelings never lasted long, getting past the initial greeting was the hard part. “Heellooo!” he squealed excitedly, “Want a flower? I’ve been picking them!”

 Kouichi lay sprawled upon his brother’s bed, waiting for the twin’s return. Or more accurately, he had fallen asleep and was only now starting to wake, throwing an arm over his eyes so the light, though feint, didn’t fall onto his face.

  The recollection of stranger dreams gave him a headache. Or maybe that was just the wear of the caffeine, though he had a feeling his spirit had been off adventuring...
