There have been some revelations in TMiF: Lost Mine of Phandelver!

My lil halfling Risi, isn't actually a halfling! As she and the rest of the band found out a few sessions ago, she's a changeling. Wearing a halfling persona since childhood, with a faint memory of whimsical colors, a warm embrace, and a gentle fey voice:

"Okay, little one. You're going to a very nice halfling family. From now on, you shall be Risi Swiftmist."

And for the first time in-session, she shapechanged from her halfling self, to her changeling self. Which is an interesting visual to see; her skin appears to crack, and the cracks widen and spider out to reveal the form she's taking 'underneath'.

Speaking of the Lost Mine of Phandelver game we recently started, here's the whole gang meeting up at the delightfully-named Merciful Strawberry tavern! From left to right:

"Felt cute; might go adventuring later~"

Just some pose practice with some of my gals! It was nice to draw each of them in a moment where they're just at ease with things/the world around them. A little more casual, clothing palettes outside of their norms, and in the case of my two elves here, literally letting their hair down.

Faeliine may be my magical nerd cleric, but she's a lady of noble birth and knows she's pretty~ She very well could enchant (literally) almost anyone she liked, with her magic or her looks, but she'd much rather that clever fellow she likes notice her on his own. Vess likes being up high; she always has, in life and in undeath. Something about being that close to the skies, where the birds fly free and she does too sometimes, as an owl, feels like home. Ysra... Oh Ysra, you've seen a LOT and you've done a lot. Getting to just be in her home forest, to know that she actually can relax, is a very hard-earned and hard-won feeling and she's taking that time for herself. Risi is a bundle of mischief. Once comfortable with what she really is, freely changing her form around those she trusts just adds to her playfulness. She's still very halfling at heart, changeling or not~

The best sleepin' spot~

Whenever Risi woke up from a bad dream, she naturally gravitated to the safest place she could find. It just so happened to be behind her new friend Maxwell's knees.

A little snippet from TMiF's Lost Mine of Phandelver campaign, where my lil halfling Risi has habitually cuddled up against the backs of her buddy Maxwell's legs. He don't mind none; really it's stranger to him now for her to not be there, than to be there.

She just fits there so well~

TMiF Plays: Lost Mine of Phandelver (SRD & Secrets), Ep10

Last session of Phandelver, Risi wanted to check out something in the crevice in the cavern under Transendar Manor. She'd gotten a weird feeling in her gut when she walked across one of two bridges, but only after other priorities were complete did she get to have a look.

Lo, in a hidden hole under the second bridge, she found a box! Opening it and sticking her hand inside almost resulted in a bite! It was a mimic! But for some reason, it stopped right as its teeth touched her skin, and chirped an apology at her, calling her "master"...

Risi, confused but quick on the uptake, decided to just roll with it. One concern: She's the only one who can understand it. But in any regard, she has a mimic friend that has chosen to be gloves! It liked the name "Talon" better than "open" or "close", so meet Talon the mimic!

No Kill Like Overkill

In Episode 3 of @/themetaisfutile's Lost Mine of Phandelver campaign, my little halfling gal Risi ran up to a goblin who thought he was tough after getting shot by our ranger, Kain, and surviving the shot. Then proceeding to dodge a crossbow bolt from our bard, and then a dart thrown by Risi. She promptly twice decked that goblin in the schnoz so hard she exploded his head!

Offscreen comment is from her paladin buddy Maxwell. Who didn't know she could do that.

To be fair, she didn't either.

Just a couple new characters of mine!

The sheepish blue-eyed one is Risi Swiftmist, my Open Hand monk halfling I'm playing in the SRD-Limited Lost Mine of Phandelver campaign that we're doing over at @/themetaisfutile! She's the local tiny extrovert of the group and she's going to be a lot of fun to play!

The winged fiend-looking woman is Strata Ignultias, a revamp of an old character I made 10+ years ago who wanted to be relevant again, and so required a racial overhaul. I have NO idea what her class(es) might be yet, only that she comes from wealthy family with military ties, and is a brat. xD

28 and 46 for Risi!

28. What makes them laugh out loud? Risi is very easy to make laugh, to be honest. A lot of things make her laugh aloud. Getting away with a harmless prank, making a friend laugh, even just little silly day to day things. She's gregarious and amuseable like that. lol

46. How do they handle getting sick? Sleep and food. xD Risi really dislikes being sick, as it makes her have to be isolated from most other people so she doesn't get them sick. So she gets lonely and whiny when she's awake and miserable. But most of the time she's sick, Risi spends either asleep, or eating.

She might be a changeling but halfling cultural habits are deeply ingrained in her lol

Look at the size of them pancakes! Lol Risi sure don't understand why the Stonehill proprietress is doting on her but she ain't about to reject hospitality!
