[ad_1] Jaiswal and Kohli added 38 runs for the third wicket. (PC: Subhayan Chakraborty) In the first innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal fell cheaply, edging a length delivery from Mitchell Starc while attempting an ambitious off-drive. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, playing unusually far outside his crease, was undone by a rising ball from Josh Hazlewood, edging to the keeper for a mere five runs. However, both players rectified their technical errors in the second innings at Optus Stadium in Perth, where they unleashed a breathtaking assault on the Australian bowlers. Jaiswal notched up a scintillating 161, while Kohli remained unbeaten on 100, each facing 297 and 143 deliveries respectively, tiring the Aussies and helping India secure a commanding lead in the first Test of the series. The second innings was where everything clicked for Jaiswal and Kohli. Jaiswal, heralded as the ‘New King’ by the Aussies press, received a standing ovation from Kohli, who has been known as the ‘King’ of Indian cricket for over a decade, as he returned to the pavilion after his explosive innings. Not only did Kohli applaud him, but Rishabh Pant, the next batsman in, embraced Jaiswal in acknowledgment of what could be a match-winning performance. Jaiswal, with his helmet and bat raised high, was cheered with a standing ovation by every spectator as he walked back to the dugout. In the commentary box, cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar stood to applaud Jaiswal’s fourth Test century. For Kohli, the Perth crowd witnessed a century that was both elegant and layered. After a patient start, once Washington Sundar was dismissed following an 89-run partnership, Kohli switched gears, lofting Nathan Lyon for a six and then punishing Marnus Labuschagne with boundaries. His 30th Test century, his seventh in Australia — the highest by any Indian against this opponent — was celebrated with a kiss to his bat, a smile, and a nod towards his wife, Anushka Sharma, in the VIP gallery. This performance was especially significant after his less impressive outings in the home series against Bangladesh and New Zealand. “Paaji (elder brother Kohli) has been doing it for a long time, so he’s just incredible,” an elated Jaiswal told reporters. “I was enjoying his batting, we were so happy.” Optus Stadium has proven to be a happy hunting ground for Kohli. Here, in the 2018 Test, he scored 123 runs, which he later described as his “finest Test century in Australia” in a BCCI.tv video. For Jaiswal, it was his first taste of success Down Under, where he joined an elite club by scoring daddy hundreds in his first four Test centuries, alongside Graeme Smith, and became the third Indian to score a century on his Test debut in Australia. Additionally, he became the youngest opener after Sachin Tendulkar to score a hundred in Australia, and Kohli surpassed Sir Donald Bradman in terms of Test centuries. “For me all my centuries are amazing, but this is special because I really wanted to do it against Australia,” Jaiswal said. “I worked so hard in every practice session, I wanted to score runs here in Australia, so I really enjoyed it. I was just playing normally, I always trust in me and believe in me.” Perth witnessed a spectacle where the ‘King’ and the ‘New King’ were in full display, their celebrations mirroring each other with arms stretched wide and broad smiles aimed at the sky, soaking in every moment. Yet, their innings were markedly different in style; Jaiswal’s was a display of youthful exuberance, while Kohli’s was a masterclass in adaptability and experience. Krishnamachari Srikkanth Expresses Concern for Rishabh Pant's Fitness for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023
India and Australia are very excited to perform in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The countdown begins now to the Cricket World Cup 2023, which will be held in three months. The first match will be played between England and New Zealand on October 5 in Ahmedabad. Visit finenews247 for the latest breaking cricket news online.
India, the host, will turn the World Cup game scenario on its head with their performance against Australia on October 8. The Chennai public will gather to watch the live IND vs. AUS 2023 match. We all have seen the dynamic performance that stood the mind of many cricket addicts.
India had a successful campaign in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, finishing as one of the top-four teams in the tournament. They won seven out of their nine group-stage matches and finished at the top of the points table. However, in the semi-final, India suffered a defeat against New Zealand and was eliminated from the tournament.
Australia, on the other hand, had an excellent run in the tournament and emerged as the champions. They won seven out of their nine group-stage matches and finished second in the points table. Australia then went on to defeat England in the semi-final and New Zealand in the final to claim their fifth ICC Cricket World Cup title.
In the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, which was co-hosted by India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, India had an outstanding tournament. They performed exceptionally well throughout the competition.
India won all their group-stage matches, defeating Bangladesh, England, Ireland, the Netherlands, South Africa, and the West Indies. They finished at the top of Group B in the group stage.
In the knockout stage, India faced Australia in the quarterfinals and emerged victorious. They then faced arch-rivals Pakistan in the semi-final, winning that match as well.
In the final, held on April 2, 2011, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India faced Sri Lanka. After Sri Lanka set a target of 275 runs, India successfully chased it down with six wickets in hand and ten balls to spare. Gautam Gambhir and MS Dhoni played crucial innings for India in the final, with Dhoni hitting the winning runs with a six to secure India's victory.
This triumph in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup marked India's second-ever World Cup win, with their first coming in 1983. While Australia won the ICC Cricket World Cup trophy five times, i.e., in 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, and 2015 seasons. Let’s see if this season will be the luckiest one for India or Australia.
According to today’s cricket news Online, Krishnamachari Srikkanth felt concerned about his country’s position in the World Cup, as India is dealing with an injured player. Rishabh Pant, after a road accident, is still recovering his health. But we have no idea whether he will be fit to confirm his seat in the India squad or not.I really think that Rishabh should get well soon, as the whole nation is waiting to watch him live in the upcoming cricket competition. Otherwise, Rishabh Pant’s absence would be a critical thing for India in the 2023 World Cup, Says former India opener Krishnamachari Srikkanth. He also pointed out that KL Rahul’s injury would be the reason for India's lower scores in the International League. However, at some point, I do think that India will score well with the opening players, like Captain Rohit and Shubman Gill, and will do better against each participant in the cricket competition. Second-string Indian team to play Ireland in two T20 Internationals
A second-string Indian cricket team will play against Ireland in two T20 Internationals in Malahide on June 26 and June 28.
Cricket Ireland has confirmed that the Indian team would be touring Ireland for a short two-match T20I series in June.
However, the series is unlikely to see top players such as all-format skipper Rohit Sharma, star batter Virat Kohli, first-choice wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah in action as the remaining one Test match from the last year's tour of England is scheduled to held from July 1-5.
"This summer will be a 'Season of Stars' as India, New Zealand and Afghanistan tour Ireland, while we will play South Africa in Bristol. We're set for the biggest home international season in Ireland ever!" Cricket Ireland tweeted.
India will kick off Ireland's bumper home summer by playing the two T20Is ahead of their tour to England, which starts with last summer's rescheduled fifth Test at Edgbaston on July 1.
After that, India is scheduled to play six white-ball matches -- three T20Is and three ODIs -- against England from July 7.
India last played in Ireland in 2018, winning a two-match T20I series 2-0.
"We are delighted to welcome back India Men's team for the first time since 2018, as well as the number one-ranked ODI side the Black Caps, who were last here in 2017, Warren Deutrom, Chief Executive of Cricket Ireland, said.
"Just as important, given we will shortly be heading to a T20 WC, are the two T20I series against South Africa and Afghanistan. Our thanks goes to Gloucestershire Cricket Club for agreeing to host the South African series.
"We decided to postpone both this year's planned tour to Zimbabwe in April and the home Bangladesh series into 2023. Even with these changes, we're still hosting a record amount of men's cricket against some of the world's top teams this year with more exciting announcements to come around our women's fixtures."
It is understood that Ireland Cricket's broadcast revenue from these two T20Is will help them earn more money than all matches against other countries in rest of the season.

[ad_1] Jasprit Bumrah during the Perth Test (PC: Debasis Sen) By Subhayan Chakraborty from Perth Leading India is never an easy task, especially with the regular skipper and key batters missing. But Jasprit Bumrah is cut from a different cloth. Calm and composed during the pre-match press conference on the eve of the Perth Test, Bumrah was fiery and decisive with the ball in the final session of Day 1 against Australia. In his initial six-over spell, Bumrah caused all sorts of trouble for the hosts. India were under pressure, bowled out for a meagre 150 after a stellar bowling display by the Aussies. Coming off a 0-3 whitewash at home against New Zealand, and with regular captain Rohit Sharma missing and Shubman Gill ruled out with a thumb injury, the responsibility fell squarely on Bumrah to lead from the front with the ball. The stand-in skipper started with a no-ball to Usman Khawaja but quickly settled in. His first legal delivery trapped Khawaja in front, though it was marginally too high for a successful review. Bumrah resisted the temptation to go upstairs, displaying his maturity. A couple of deliveries later, Nathan McSweeney, making his debut, was beaten by a nearly unplayable delivery. The slip cordon, led by Virat Kohli, buzzed with anticipation. Labuschagne survived a peach of a delivery that just evaded the edge of his bat in the first over. Bumrah continued to test Labuschagne, finding the edge and striking the pads multiple times. In one instance, he induced a faint nick, but the edge didn’t carry to the slips due to Labuschagne’s soft hands. On another occasion, Bumrah hit the Aussie batter’s pads as he missed a defensive stroke. Again, Bumrah wisely refrained from reviewing. His patience and tactical brilliance stood out, as he let the game come to him rather than forcing the issue. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Jasprit Bumrah with his teammates in the Perth Test (PC: Debasis Sen) The turning point came when Bumrah switched to bowling around the wicket to Khawaja. A short ball with a sharp away angle forced an edge, which Kohli snapped up at slip. Bumrah was now in his element, and his next victim was the mighty Steve Smith. With an incoming delivery, Bumrah trapped Smith plumb in front for a golden duck—the first time Smith had been dismissed on the first ball of his innings since 2014, when Dale Steyn managed the feat. Although Bumrah missed the hat-trick, he continued to unsettle the Australian batters. He banged in a short one that struck Labuschagne on the lower ribs, visibly causing discomfort. Yet, Labuschagne soldiered on. Labuschagne later fell to Mohammed Siraj for 2 after a gritty 51-ball vigil. After a brief rest, Bumrah returned to finish the job. Switching ends, he dismissed Australian skipper Pat Cummins with a peach of a delivery—a flashy drive edged to Rishabh Pant behind the stumps. By stumps, Bumrah had extraordinary figures of 4/12 in 9 overs, all from the same end. His 10-over spell yielded just 17 runs, but the real story lay in how he shattered the Australians’ confidence. Earlier, in the pre-match press conference, Bumrah had remarked that pace-bowling captains are “tactically better.” On Day 1 in Perth, he proved why, delivering a masterclass in seam bowling and captaincy. If Australian pitches are fast and furious, Bumrah has shown he is the perfect driver for Team India. India Down Kiwis In First T20 Match
India vs New Zealand - 1st T20I
Despite a century partnership (109) between Martin Guptill and Mark Chapman, New Zealand were beaten by India in the first T20 International in Jaipur on Wednesday as the home team reached a 165 target in 19.4 overs.
India in the process took a bit of revenge on the Kiwis for their loss in the T20 World Cup group stage that put them out of contention as new skipper Rohit Sharma and Suriyakumar Yadav slammed five sixes and 11 fours combined in making 48 and 62 respectively before both fell to paceman Trent Boult who had best figures of 2 for 31.
New Zealand did not have much of a chance in curtailing the Indian batting as Sharma and his opening partner KL Rahul (15) put on 50 runs in the first five overs that set the course for the home team in the absence of Virat Kohli who relinquished the captaincy after the T20 World Cup.
India had to make 10 runs in the last over which Rishabh Pant (17 not out) took care of.
In hindsight New Zealand finished the match to regret that a total of 164 was never going to be enough against India's star-studded batting line up in accustomed home conditions.
After losing opener Daryl Mitchell for a first ball duck and then recovering through the century second wicket stand between Guptill (70) and Chapman (63), New Zealand could not build up on the foundation with 6.4 overs left as Glenn Phillips fell leg-before without scoring to Ravichandran Ashwin two balls after Chapman was dismissed.
Scores: New Zealand 164 for 6 in 20 overs (Martin Guptill 70, Mark Chapman 63, Bhuvneshwar Kumar 2 for 24, R Ashwin 2 for 23) India 166 for 5 in 19.4 overs (Rohit Sharma 48, Suriyakumar Yadav 62, Trent Boult 2 for 31)

The Indian Premier League (IPL) re-imagined not just set the layout for T20 associations to chimp later on, however the nature of cricket in plain view likewise helped attract fans droves.
One of the principle reasons the most limited configuration of the game offers to the majority is its slap-run nature. In that capacity, it is where more-so than any other time in recent memory, batsmen have flourished.

With the thirteenth release of the competition set to be played in a month, we glance back at the ten most noteworthy individual scores in the IPL.
Chris Gayle (175* versus Pune Warriors, April 23 2013)
Oneself declared 'Universe Boss' was in every case appropriate to T20 cricket and he indicated exactly how ruinous he could be the point at which he crushed the most elevated score throughout the entire existence of the IPL. Opening the batting for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gayle made the Warriors' bowling assault look hapless as he without any help scammed them. His amazing score came in only 66 balls, which means he scored at a strike-pace of 265.15. It likewise implied there was little weight on any other person in the group to make runs; the following most noteworthy scorer in that counterpart for RCB was Tillakaratne Dilshan with 33. It shocked no one that RCB proceeded to enlist an enormous 130-run triumph.
Brendon McCullum (158* versus Royal Challengers Bangalore, April 18 2008)
The first-since forever IPL coordinate is one probably not going to be overlooked by any individual who saw it, on account of previous New Zealand captain McCullum. Opening the batting close by Sourav Ganguly for Kolkata Knight Riders as they were placed in to bat first, McCullum indicated the world not just exactly how damaging a batsman he could be yet additionally the capability of the IPL. On a batting well disposed track in Bengaluru, McCullum made force hitting look easy. The Kiwi opener's thump made him a short-term star as well as got the money rich class off to the ideal beginning. Thusly, this is a thump that is always scratched in IPL legend. KKR would proceed to dominate the game by 140 runs.
Stomach muscle de Villiers (133* versus Mumbai Indians, May 10 2015)
Mr. 360 is another player who dominated significantly in T20 cricket thanks in huge part to his improvisational capacity just as the talent of hitting hotshots voluntarily. This match against Mumbai began inadequately as RCB had lost Chris Gayle when ABD went to the wrinkle. The previous South Africa captain would join with establishment captain Virat Kohli and set up a 215-run represent the subsequent wicket. Kohli scored an all around made 82* however it was De Villiers who got everyone's attention, crushing 19 fours and 4 sixes as RCB proceeded to score 235-1 in their 20 overs. An energetic fightback from MI in the subsequent innings wasn't sufficient to keep RCB from fixing the success.

Rishabh Pant (128* versus Sunrisers Hyderabad, May 10 2018)
Gasp's irregularities during his global vocation have freed him up to some cruel analysis yet innings like these make it simple to recollect why the Delhi wicketkeeper-batsman was so profoundly appraised when he previously burst onto the scene. Delhi Daredevils were in a spot of trouble 43-3 when Pant strolled in to bat and continued to without any help wreck a bowling line-up that had any semblance of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddarth Kaul, Rashid Khan and Shakib al Hasan. His capacity stuffed innings contained 15 fours and 7 sixes, helping Delhi set a good complete of 187-5. Sadly, the innings is fairly overlooked on the grounds that SRH ran out champs in this experience.
Murali Vijay (127 versus Rajasthan Royals, April 3 2010)
The Chennai Super Kings opener was known more for his capacity to develop an innings from the head of the request however on his day, he too could play damaging thumps. Never was this more clear than in this 2010 match against Rajasthan Royals where he smacked 8 fours and 11 sixes in transit to a fine century. He nearly batted through the innings yet was at last excused with 2 balls to save. By the by, his free-wheeling innings helped CSK set an overwhelming objective of 246-5 in their 20 overs. RR as far as concerns them retaliated courageously however could oversee just 223-5 consequently which implied that Vijay's thump didn't go futile.
