Quick ficlet to go with yesterday's au. We're skipping the first in-game day and just cutting to that afternoon.

When Kevin returned to the Pokecenter it was with a Popplio under his arm, a sparkling rock that radiated power in his pocket, and incredibly mixed emotions.

Pros of the day: He had a pokemon now, and a Junior License. He had a pokedex, one of the new ones that were supposed to interface with a Rotom- which seemed a bit of a waste when he certainly couldn’t afford to get one, but maybe you could find them in Alola. That girl, Lillie, had looked at him like a hero for trying to help her pokemon. He’d been noticed by a legendary and not only lived to tell the tale but gotten a gift out of it.

Cons of the day: Who in their right mind sent anybody to go see a shrine guarded by territorial pokemon?! Yes, Kevin would have been able to handle them himself under normal circumstances, but nobody in Alola knew, and hanging over a crevice on a half-rotten bridge was not normal circumstances! That whole situation had been awful. His life had flashed before his eyes during that fall, and it hadn’t even been a good view!

Kwarrel was going to have a heart attack when he found out. If he found out. Kevin was still trying to decide if he would tell him.

Starter still in his grasp, Kevin climbed up to his bunk and collapsed with a groan. With a bark the water-type slipped from his hold and climbed onto his stomach, flopping out like it too was exhausted. Then again it hadn’t had a trainer for a whole day before almost losing him, so maybe it was. Whichever way, Kevin settled a hand in its head for soothing pets.

“Ya know what, Riptide? This festival tomorrow better be awesome after everything. Talking music, food, the works.” It was the least the people of Iki Town could do after their lack of bridge maintenance almost killed him.

He chose to interpret the responding bark as an agreement.

Au where Eri is a villain in love with Hero Kouta Izumi.

Interesting.... Very interesting...

1- in an early escape attempt, Eri finds herself upstairs in a room with a man on a hospital bed sleeping. Her babysitter at the time knocks the door open, Eri screams, and her quirk goes off-and heals Pops, who grabs her, stands up and yells at people about Kai attacking him until he's marching downstairs with Eri in one hand and a gun in the other. Truly, I do pity him, for having to stop someone he saw as his own son. Eri, grateful for being saved, grows up not like her foolish and flighty mother or her treacherous uncle, but a beloved Yakuza princess, skilled and balanced and devoted to keeping the old ways alive- and her Pops alive, using her quirk to extend his life. But after the wave of chaos that the LoV and the MLA wreaked some decade before her rise to power, she and her men are classified as villains, the new term for all criminals and small time Villains, Supervillains and T-Villians used for more dangerous groups. In the age of stronger quirks, those get used more without Pops stopping it on account of the old ways.

2- Deku may not have saved Eri because she never needed it, no eraser bullets ever made, but he did still save Kouta from Muscular, and inspires him to be a hero. He trains with his aunts and uncle, then Manual, and ends up number one hero Deku's intern his senior year, and then sidekick, so he's got a leg up when it comes to being known at a early start to his career.

3- They get a meet-cute. Kouta is walking to the train station when he sees a very pretty, well dressed woman with gold jewelry sparkling on her horn pause to talk to an old couple on the porch of their shop, exchanging niceties. Then a car almost splashes up dirty water on her but he stops it. Both think the other looks kind of familiar as they go on, but Kouta doesn't realize why until he's called into a meeting that afternoon discussing a drug ring and her picture is clipped as the suspected leader, and when Eri sees a magazine with Kouta as the pro hero Riptide on it. Cue both going "oh no"

4- There's got to be a scene where in quick succession, Kouta tricks and arrests Eri and puts her in hand cuffs, gets immediately shot by rival Yakuza, gets rewound and healed up by Eri, and then left in his own handcuffs for hero Deku to find and give him a look but "don't. Say. Anything." "I didn't say anything Kouta!"

5- Pops notices Eri's feelings and tries his hardest to not approve but it only lasts a few seconds because he just wants his last kid to be happy, and hey if Yakuza heir life or a civilian husband didn't work out for the last two, could a hero boyfriend really make Eri's life worse than the other two??

Don’t Kid Yourself is my favorite fic I’ve written, but I can’t convince myself to ever add onto it and I fear it would be the one you’d all vote for, so it’s not on this list. I stuck to fics that are complete, as otherwise any “drabbles” would just be part of the next chapter, which knocked out my other 3 favorites (Riptide, More Than This, Shatterproof), sorry! 

1.  Ice It (AO3) - Hizashi shows up at Shouta’s door injured after a fight with a villain. As Shouta cleans him up, the voice hero lets something slip. 

2. Recovery (series, AO3) - Inspired by @bethhankel‘s injury AU/Scorched. Hizashi’s speaker is destroyed on a patrol gone wrong and he and Shouta deal with the aftermath and healing. 

3. On Patrol (AO3) - Explicit. Hizashi convinces Shouta to go on patrol with him, with a little extra addition to his usual hero gear. 

4.  Matchmaker (AO3) - The students of 1-A, plus Shinsou, become suspicious of Hizashi and Shouta’s “friendship” and decide to play matchmaker with their teachers. Little do they know, the two pros are already happily married. 

5.  Break Me, Baby (AO3) -  Explicit.They’d been at this for at least an hour now. Hizashi was beyond well prepped, this wasn’t necessary, but he’d asked to be brought to the edge and when Shouta had asked are you sure? Hizashi had responded with Yes, and when I get there, drag me over it.

This is probably going to be hard, hahahaha. I’ll give you all until end of 3/5 to vote and then I’ll deliver the drabble next week (fingers crossed, I’m knee deep in another fic). I’m hoping I have something I can build off of for some of these, hahaha...
