RIGHT! and I do feel the first season took a few steps toward making the world more interesting by upping the political tensions between east and west ravka and actually acknowledging the extent to which alina’s heritage affected her experiences (although not very well) but it still feels very juvenile and shallow overall. I kind of almost think the books had more politics and different tensions working against alina, and at this point I’m sort of inclined to agree that netflixing something is almost the absolute worst possible fate that you could pick for any book. I hate what capitalism has done to storytelling, but netflix in particular rubs me so wrong and I can’t tell if it’s because I’m more exposed to a lot of really bad shows trending on tumblr or because netflix has a particular brand of not caring about investing in its content in a way that conveys capitalism disease even more acutely.

thoughts on daemy targ?

honestly i have very few!! i think matt smith is perfect casting for daemon in particular and a targ in general; i literally think the casting director saw him in the crown and went Oh my god it’s daemy targ, because that’s essentially the same guy twice. overall, i think he’s much more compelling when viewing the targaryens overall; he’s visenya’s legacy (oh no), he’s jealous of anyone who’s close to viserys (because if he was a girl, he’d have married viserys), he marries his own niece as a surrogate for his brother/bc of targ supremacy, he jumps from his dragon to kill his nephew and die also, and he’s not even invested in the whole thing.

i think he’s often mischaracterized as solely power-hungry; he doesn’t want power in general, but rather the targaryens to have power. he also wants viserys to acknowledge him and fucks up the budgeting spreadsheets about it. he’d be a family-oriented sim, i think. anyway i do think he should die for what happened with nettles.

Wrestling may not be for everyone, but it is a place I’ve found a home. A family. And I will never stop watching WWE. Marveling in pride as the superstars of today propel the world of wrestling out into the atmosphere!
