Been super tired this chemo cycle but i drew a little bit today :)

i remember we speculated about whether or not he used ozempic. he is into every health/diet fad that hollywood goes through, and it would make sense to me he'd try it out. it's noticeable too that he hasn't been seen at the gym or with any personal trainer (bradrry RIP?) in a long while. so maybe one of the reasons he looks so old is because of ozempic face, where he lost too much weight on his face? idk. i could definitely see it though.

I don’t think he’s on ozempic he doesn’t really have ozempic face imo. His face weight loss seems to stem more from increase drug use and extreme dieting. His face look fine doing fineline promo but during the Italy trip in 2020 when he started writing Harry house is when I notice his face looking more gaunt. It only gotten worst with the movies and the tour. I think he probably start getting botox during LOT.

his botox came about around his brits win. he had fresh botox, fresh hair dye, fresh cocaine binge, right after his grammys appearance had him getting called a crackhead by brazilian twitter.

Rehearsals and Shoot Day 1 TBATB

We had visited the location for the underground nightclub (The Caves Edinburgh) beforehand so that we could get an idea of the size that the actors would be fighting in. As they were practicing, my job was to cover up two very large mirrors with newspaper and posters as it would cause problems with lighting and reflections. I had printed out plenty of posters beforehand, similar to what I did for Rubbed the Wrong Way, but these ones were different styles, promoting music events, club nights, etc. I was to make it look run down and old, so I used masking tape and more ripped newspaper to create this effect. As these were very large mirrors, I had help from our art assistant Martha from the year below. I printed out a poster with a large butterfly on it and made sure that was seen.

One of my biggest challenges was my idea of how Sonia wanted to be tied up. Joseph, Kushal and I had discussed the idea of using large pieces of fabric to completely wrap her up to represent her ‘cocoon’ stage. I have visual inspiration here on my Pinterest board: https://pin.it/4G0p8tliW

On set however, this didn’t go to plan. We practiced it at the rehearsals, but it looked unnatural, and not like something the gangsters would do. We tried it many different ways, with torn fabric, rope over the top, but it just looked like a toga. We settled to simply use rope. We instead used the fabric as a protective sheet to keep the fake blood off the floor.

Another thing which was important this day was, when using blood, knowing how much to use before getting clothes dirty - for continuity reasons. Obviously there was a lot of movement going on so this was difficult but we managed. As most of the fight scenes on this day were chronological, we could just add more blood as we went along, depending on where the characters had been hit.

The location of the room itself had some fake plants hung up from previous events. I used these to hide exit signs and plug sockets. I liked it as it gave the room the feeling that it had been empty for a while with weeds growing through the cracks.

I created the Groove Grotto sign on the day, while the first scenes were being shot. I cut a piece of cardboard and painted the letters in a dirty, woody colour. Looking back now, I’m not too happy with how it looks. It screams ‘I’M A PROP’ to me, very obviously stuck up on the wall by the door. If I had more time I would have made this look better, more realistic, with options for different fonts and styles.

I was, however, happy with how the neck tattoos came about. We decided on a feather tattoo due to the ‘Krows’ gang name. I had messaged Martha as she had mentioned she had a pack of temporary tattoos that had a feather one. I wanted to avoid using these on the first day of shooting as they can partially come off in a few days, making them unusable for the next day of shooting. Also, there was only two in the pack. Instead, I used the tattoo as a reference to draw onto the actors neck with a black fineliner. Sadly, we didn’t manage to get a close up of it, but I think that it comes across well enough. It was useful to have the temporary tattoos for the next day of shooting however as it would be harder to draw the feather exactly the same. I wasn’t available the next shoot day they would be needed so it would be easier for Martha to transfer it.

Drawing workshop

"Look at your work like this, it's already a weave" (Ian, 2023)

In this workshop, I felt like I really excelled. I do sometimes struggle with drawing, particularly in a 'conventional' way, in addition to doing what I perceive as 'too much' however during/after this workshop, I felt happy, confident and empowered.

During this workshop, we also had the pleasure of having a tutorial with Ian. This was extremely beneficial and it was great to have an individual with a fine art background giving advice and providing inspiration. He was happy with the way I had experimented and said it was great that I had used a variety of different mediums. He assured me that the collage/layer is a strength of mine and that I should continue to do this. I completely agree with this comment and is the way I also worked during my BA after some negative insight about my 'lack of drawing skills'

In terms of stimulus, I was drawing from objects that I could open, rip, manipulate, or that just has an inside, such as a shell or sponge.

Working in this way and using a lot of experimentation is something that I would definitely like to continue to do. I love working on different papers and will ensure that I keep my recycling as I feel this could be a sustainable element to my project.
