Valorant – How to play Valorant? Top 6 ways to rank fast on Valorant
Valorant is a tactical first-person shooter video game developed and published by Riot Games. The game was released in 2020 for Microsoft Windows. Valorant is a team-based game that consists of two teams of five players. The objective of the game is for one team to plant a bomb at one of two sites on the map, while the other team tries to prevent the planting of the bomb or to defuse the bomb once it has been planted. The game features a variety of characters, each with their own unique abilities, which can be used to support the team or attack the enemy team.
Tumblr media
Here is a basic overview of how to play Valorant:
First, you will need to install the game on your computer and create an account.
Once you have launched the game, you will be taken to the main menu where you can select the “Play” option to begin a match.
Before the match starts, you will have the opportunity to select your character (also known as an “Agent”) and loadout. Each character has their own unique abilities that you can use during the match.
When the match begins, your team will be placed on one side of the map, and the enemy team will be placed on the other side.

hello skyen! what are your thoughts on vanguard and the way people react to it? really appreciate your videos, keep it up
I'm not a tech guy and I don't know all the technical details of kernel level anticheat.
What I do know is that you cannot trust a corporation. Riot has claimed many many times that they definitely don't want to collect user data or behave in any invasive way with kernel access to millions and millions of players' machines, and literally nobody with a brain and the capacity for memory should believe them when they say that.
The demand of capitalism is this: if you can get away with it and it makes you money, then there is literally no reason not do it. Corporations are amoral, they do not have ethics, and as has been borne out again and again and again, so long as they calculate that the fine for doing something is less than the benefit they can extract from it, they will do it every single time.
I am not saying that the engineers at Riot who came up with Vanguard want to abuse the access the system gives them, I am entirely confident that the on-the-ground workers just want a way to more effectively moderate against cheaters and hackers, and this is the most convenient means they've come up with.
But the engineers don't run the company, and the shareholders (much like cancer cells) demand infinite growth forever, and at some point some suit-and-sneakers wearing silicon valley vulture dipshit executive asshole is going to look at all that access their kernel level anti-cheat has and go "hey we could monetize that," and they fucking will. Not because they are uniquely evil or immoral, but because they are the exact normal level of evil and immoral for a business.
Do not trust a corporation. Ever.

Are there any ideas you have for Rot that youre willing to share, now that the applications closed?
- vabam-fr
sure i can share what i sent ringleader for her application. this long as hell proceed at your own risk.
Basic Clan Lore: Wake's Bane is a disorganized pack of criminals, outcasts, and vagabonds operating under the guise of a mercenary company. Led by a ruthless mirror of the same name, they terrorize the ruins of the Emperor's Wake, preying on the uprooted clans and refugees left vulnerable from Luminax's rampage. Their strategy is simple: if a clan is able to pay, Wake's Bane will protect them. If not, the company will take their dues in other ways - theft, murder, kidnapping - they're not picky. Wake's Bane will occasionally clash with Clan Sunsharp when their Vanguard are sent to probe the southern reaches of the Light domain. Due to Bane's history with Clan Sunsharp's commander, Alacrith, it's highly likely these missions are sabotaged on purpose thanks to an age old grudge. Clan Sunsharp's opposite in every way, no tenets govern Wake's Bane other than blood and gold.
Plans For Dragon: This one is trickier since I don't have any of the clan member's bio's written out (the ideas are in my head, but alas my work ethic). That being said, Rot would fit in well with Wake's Bane. She's a lean mean killing machine, and that's perfectly in line with how most of Bane's crew gets their kicks. She'd have to fight for respect just like everyone else, but it would quickly become clear that she has the skills to back up her mouth, and her past experience dealing with dangerous entities (I'm thinking of the godfalls here) would cement her as a solid asset to the band rather than just an opportunistic tag-along. Most likely she would be personally pushed and tested by members who especially doubt her (Maerys and Ewara come to mind) and in the ensuing fight she'd permanently scar or maim her opponent, which would put an end to anyone else questioning her place in the company. I have a feeling she would become attached to Ratha, Bane's right hand and fellow guardian from Plague. Neither of them would acknowledge it formally, and their relationship would be pretty contentious, but the two of them would form a twisted sort of mentor/mentee bond, much to the chagrin of the rest of the company (gods, we don't need TWO of them! one is scary enough!). Ratha would push her hard (and she would push right back) but Rot would ultimately grow more strong, flexible, and cunning under her tutelage. Esdras would also take a liking to her, acting as a weird uncle figure who encourages her worst habits (he benefits from this relationship through the many corpses she leaves for his use). In her rare moments of weakness, Esdras would be the one she turns to, and he's tactful enough to not acknowledge her struggles as he understands how deeply embarrassing that would be for her. Where Ratha lacks in magical teaching, Esdras can make up the deficit. He would be especially interested in Rot's method of harvesting magic and would encourage cultivating this skill. As far as peers go, Maerys would be her greatest rival. As a disgraced ex-member of the Lightweaver's exalted army, her ego is huge and fragile, and she would easily rise to Rot's bait every time she wants to cause problems on purpose. Conversely, she would get along well with Hawthorne, Bane's informant who acts as Rot's softspoken and delicate opposite. They would be paired on jobs together often, since they both have a propensity for stealth (and because Hawthorne keeps requesting it, but she will deny this if asked about it outright). While Bane encourages indiscriminate bloodshed, she also understands the value of clean, efficient kills - something Rot is capable of demonstrating (unlike many of her peers; Maerys makes things too personal, Ewara leaves too much of a mess, Jet and Magyrinth are too high profile, etc). After proving herself as a member of the company, she would be put to use as an assassin and scout, scanning the horizon for Luminax, spying on clans and noting weak points, and blending in with her surroundings to take out more dangerous enemies that can't be attacked outright. Due to the grudge Bane holds against Clan Sunsharp, Rot would also be sent on a few recon trips to the Mirrorlight Promenade, instructed to observe and report their movements back to her boss. Rot is clever enough to see that she's essentially a weapon in Bane's hands just like the rest of the company, but she's compensated well for her services so it doesn't bother her that much (plus it beats being kept on a literal leash like Jet).

Hiya Papaya! 👋
Something sad happened today.
I updated Valorant to play with some friends, but for some reason riot vanguard won't let me play it anymore. Something about not meeting minimum specs but before today this wasn't an issue.
Oh well i guess i'll really be a cs main.
Just sad that i never made it to gold :(

Yeah sorry but someone has to say it: Vanguard will force a lot of people to uninstall League. There's no way this is an improvement for the game itself and many people have genuine concern regarding the privacy and safety of Vanguard and I can understand it
1) Partner with some up-and-coming artists for music videos to promote your game. People love it.
2) Work with the music video animation studio to drop a Netflix series that drags newbies and lapsed players in.
3) Drop an anticheat that asks for kernel-level access.
...Sorry, what? That's too many permissions to ask for if any software is concerned, but especially video games!
3) Continue to push the anticheat despite allegations of it incorrectly flagging actual system files. And maybe messing with them.
Yeah, so I'm just going to uninstall. Thankfully, I don't have auto-updates enabled and only play on weekends, so this crap hasn't ended up on my PC yet (hopefully).

Awoken Headcanons
note: this is mostly based on my own audacity rather than actual lore. 🤫
-
Earthborn and Awoken Guardians are like the book versions of LotR elves, while Reefborn are like the movie versions. They're actually similar, but to outsiders, Earthborn are friendly and full of life while Reefborn are aloof and elegant like their queen. This perception, though frustrating to people like Petra, generally works in Mara's favor so she allows it to continue.
Awoken Speech sounds more like creole than a separate language. This is due to the multitude of languages spoken aboard the Yang Liwei, which then carried over into the dialects in the Distributary. Although some argue Speech is a mixed language rather than creole, consensus from both the Gensym Scribes and Last City's Cryptarchy has not yet been reached.
Portmanteau examples:
daatma (ดาว/"dāw" + आत्मा/"ātman"): Awoken [older gen]
tulatma (tulay + आत्मा/"ātman"): Awoken [younger gen]
luxïn (luz + 星/"xīng"): starlight
noyam (noyer + يوم/"yawm"): Darkness
Traditional Awoken names usually sound "soft," with palatalized consonants and several vowels. The most common ending letters are "A" (Mara, Petra, Amrita) and "N" (Uldren, Jolyon, Nasan), while the most uncommon letter is "K" (Tulnik).
Most Reefborn are highly superstitious, due to the environment they grew up in. However they don't consider themselves superstitious, as it is only "practical" to refer to The Dreaming using epithets instead of names, or to look for omens in dreams, or to treat water and reflections as near-sacred, and so on.
Promises and vows / oaths are generally a life-long ordeal for Awoken, especially for Reefborn and especially if they are made to Mara. This is partly influenced by the post-Distributary riots, partly influenced by contracts with Ahamkara, and partly influenced by Mara's own charisma, which has created an almost religious devotion* amongst her followers.
*(Embarrassingly, when Calus sought to imitate this sense of devotion to lure Awoken Guardians to the Menagerie, he was partially successful.)
Balance is an important part of Awoken culture. Past and future and life and death are strongly emphasized by Reefborn, while Earthborn have integrated Old Earth philosophies like yin-yang and wabi-sabi. While Awoken Guardians tend to be less ardent about balance and/or a desire for it, there are noticeably less Awoken within the Praxic Order than in other Vanguard-affiliated organizations.
The Awoken don't believe in a physical afterlife, only the Unreal. This makes the existence of Awoken Guardians egregious to other Awoken, as they do not "return" from death, but rather "take form" of people who no longer exist. Even so, Guardians (or "Noble Dead") are still treated with respect - out of love for the ones they look like, and fear of the entities they are.
(Awoken don't believe in reincarnation either, as The Awakening is considered an "extraordinary" circumstance.)
Contrary to popular belief, male Awoken aren't ostracized in Reefborn society, and they aren't considered second-class citizens either. Even so, due to the 70/30 split [which has persisted since the Distributary], it is rare to see male Reefborn in high-level positions or as Techeuns. The perceived lack of opportunity has led to an increase in Reefborn emigrants in recent years, especially after the Battle of Saturn.
Due to the loss of resources and difficulties of growing food in the Reef, Reefborn dishes are "bland" compared to Earthborn ones. The most common seasonings are salt, cold-hardy herbs like mint, and corasteri (a star-shaped culinary variant of asphodelia). However, Reefborn food is both warming and filling, which is suited to a life in deep space.
The Dreaming City is surprisingly bare in terms of flora and fauna. Aside from pink asphodelia, queensfoil, baryon bough and memorial trees - most of which are cultivated - there are very few plants to be found. Spectral butterflies and non-native jewel bugs can be found in gardens and lost sectors, and starcats have free rein of the buildings, but there is no urban wildlife like in the Last City and Earth's metropolitan ruins. The vibrance is an illusion; it is as empty as the Reef's biodomes.
Earthborn do not live as long as their Reefborn counterparts; higher oxygen levels, increased gravity, and larger amounts of pollution make life more difficult for people adapted to space. Ironically, this is the inverse issue the Awoken faced when leaving the Distributary.
Awoken anatomy is uncanny if you look closely enough. Most traits fall within expectations (eg resistance to radiation, increased reaction time) but adaptations like tapetum lucidum can still startle people who aren't used to seeing them. Experimental traits, which are common in later-generation Reefborn, make some seem entirely inhuman. And the ability to track Guardians by their Light will never not be creepy.
Experimental traits include but aren't limited to: pointed ears; nictitating membranes (i.e. "third eyelids"); and genital slits [for Awoken specifically created for deep space missions].
Due to a history of bio-engineering, cybernetic augments are seen as unnecessary and rarely utilized outside of eutechs, and later, Techeuns. Fully robotic components, such as exo frames, are practically unheard of and often met with pity or revulsion.
The 891 are forbidden from seeking information about their lives from The Time Before (aka pre-Collapse lives), as it is considered a "distraction" from Mara's plan. Descendant Awoken are also discouraged from pursuing such info unless it is considered pertinent to their mission.
Queenslaw has been partially lifted in the Reef, due to the influx of Guardians after the Battle of Saturn. Many things once considered illegal or taboo are now acceptable, and some things are even encouraged. Unfortunately, not everyone agrees with these "sudden" changes and it has done little to reduce tensions between factions, most notably the Gensym Scribes and the Last City's Cryptarchy.
-
Reefborn sobriquets often refer to relationships (Uldren "Queensbrother," Taranis "Rivensmate," Petra "Covensdaughter"). Earthborn nicknames are often more individualized but still invoke a sense of interconnectedness (eg "Swornsister" Takara, Avraam "Firstborn").
Although the Awoken are known for their music (for ceremonies, parties, mourning, etc.) Earth-derived music seems just as violent to them as the Guardians who enjoy it. Knowing this, RZ-3 intentionally made a playlist to "scare" Petra on missions, and has successfully startled several Corsairs by belting out the lyrics to "Teenagers" while doing patrols.
-
[official grimoire / lore books: The Maraid (D1); Marasenna, The Awoken of the Reef, The Dreaming City (D2, general); The Forsaken Prince, A Tangled Web, Ripples (D2, Uldren/Crow), Ecdysis (D2, the Emissary)]
[specific lore that Tickles My Brain: "Holdfast Bond," "The Supremacy", "Third Gift"; "Crow's Best Night"]

Ambush Simulation: Final War
I have not actually written anything for Final War in the Ambush Sim au, and I would absolutely love to play with the finale and the Vanguard’s part in it, but here are some notes and vibes for now.
Shimura: You know, I’m realizing Ambush Sim Tenko really draws the short straw compared to his canon counterpart. The death toll of people he loses…
His entire family, which he does feel guilty about
Twice and Magne
Sir Nighteye, basically an uncle to him
Star, probably someone he never met in person but cared about her as part of his surrogate family anyway
He shares All Might’s tendency to take on everything/take care of everyone…this is gonna be rough.
Toga: After already losing Magne and Twice, currently watching Touya fall apart, and seeing how hard Shimura is trying to keep it together for them, she’s actively nervous about losing everyone in this.
Touya: Weirdly enough, I think the most emotional goodbye he has before the fighting starts and they all move into position is him crouching down to say goodbye to all his students clustered around him. The students he frequently jokes about being afraid of him all anxiously asking if he’s coming back and him knowing he’s destroyed his body to the point where he knows Final War might finish the job.
“You’ll be back, right? You’re gonna teach us again?”
Spinner: Stationed at the hospital with Shoji and Koda. Not thrilled about Chimera, who has by now messed all of them up pretty badly, leading a riot as a giant wolf monster.
“…this is fine.”
Compress: Honestly, I didn’t really know where to place him. Given how badly he hurt himself in Jaku City, showing up for the fight was pretty last minute and probably ill-advised, but no way was he missing this. He gets stationed on Okuta Island with Toga, Uraraka, and Asui, and ultimately finds himself watching out for all three of the girls who are roughly the same age he was when he lost his whole family.

A/N: make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom for a special treat! Happy Festival of the Lost Guardians!
***********************
Special: Festival of the Lost
Cayde looked around as he waited by the ramen bar, tapping his finger against the handle of his holstered weapon. He sighed a little and leaned back against the bar. Night had already fallen over the Tower and there were a ton of Guardians filtering through the place, all of them donning various face masks.
Many were of himself, which he found particularly amusing. But there were others too; the Witness, Riven, Master Rahool and even the Colonel. By far his favorite was the one he currently had stowed in his back pocket.
The Tower has also been fully decorated for the event, there were lanterns strewn across every conceivable corner, candles littered about burning soft flames and bright orange flowers that pulsed when he got near them. It was truly a sight. However, the guy he’d planned to share it with was nowhere to be seen and he was starting to get a little antsy.
He was sure Crow was just running a bit behind, taking Cayde’s place as Hunter Vanguard hadn’t exactly been a cakewalk. Still, it wasn’t like Crow to be late without letting him know.
What if something happened? The thought slithered in and it was enough to get Cayde pacing, his hands going from his waist to being crossed and then back to his waist again. Like he wasn’t sure what to do with them.
Then he heard familiar footsteps. He’d know those boots from anywhere. Cayde turned quickly toward the source of the sound, his cardiac drive all but stopping in his chest. Crow was surrounded by several Guardians—mostly Hunters—all vying for an autograph on their masks. True to his nature, Crow smiled and signed as many as he could.
Cayde’s chest immediately ached at the sight. Here was this guy who used to be the universe’s biggest jerk; a Prince, a murderer, and an outcast now having finally come into his own. He was confident, sure of himself and the path he’d chosen, wearing his Hunter Vanguard cloak with pride. Man, had he earned it, Cayde smiled at the thought.
Something about seeing Crow like this, well it just never got old. Finally, Crow managed to wiggle away from the gaggle of Hunters, to catch up with him.
“What are you grinning about?” Crow asked him in lieu of a greeting.
“You,” Cayde answered without any hesitation.
“Me?”
“Yeah, look at you. Signing autographs and mingling with Guardians. Just got me thinking how funny fate is sometimes.”
“Sure, fate’s a riot. I’ll put that in an inspirational postcard.”
“It brought us together didn’t it?”
“I suppose there’s that one very specific thing.”
“Oh!” Cayde snapped his fingers. “I know, you could add it to the obnoxious collection of sticky notes you’ve got. Seriously, who the hell puts them on the screen?”
“You’re just hurt because I took down the one you stuck on.” Crow chuckled softly as he settled in next to Cayde.
“It was art!”
“It was a drawing of me dressed as a chili pepper.”
“As inspiration for this evening,” Cayde gestured outwardly to indicate that he meant the festivities currently happening.
Crow shook his head, a small laugh leaving him. “I’m not sure I’ll ever understand you, Cayde.”
“Probably best to stop while you’re ahead and just…run with it.” Cayde grinned wide again, finally taking the mask he’d purchased from Eva out of his pocket. He quickly pulled it on.
“Oh not you too,” Crow groaned instantly at the sight of his own face. Well, Uldren Sov’s face to be more exact. “Do you have any idea how many Guardians have been popping up to taunt me with that thing? That's why I was late.”
Cayde ignored him and proceeded to do his best impression of Uldren. “Oh look at me! I’m Uldren Sov, the broody Awoken Prince! I like to listen to sad music and write lengthy poems in the dark about how no one understands me.”
“Alright, you want to go there? We’ll go there.” Crow pulled a mask from his own inventory and donned it quickly. Soon Cayde was staring back at himself. He chuckled a little at that. “I’m Cayde-6, I never take anything seriously, including my own death. I like to play pranks on everyone, especially my Hunter Vanguard boyfriend—despite the fact that he outranks me.”
Cayde put a hand to his chest, pretending to be offended. “Pulling the Vanguard title card on me already, Crow? And here I thought we had somethin’ special.”
“Maybe you should have thought of that before teasing me.”
“Alright, well I’ve had just about enough of this,”Cayde pulled his mask off and then grabbed Crow by the front of his cloak, tugging him closer. Then he took Crow’s mask by the edge and pushed it upwards to reveal his face. “I know exactly how to shut you up.”
Crow quirked a playful eyebrow, but Cayde could see a flush already starting to form. “You’re going to kiss me? Out here in the bazaar? Bold.”
“Bold is my middle name.” Then he leaned up and pressed his lips against Crow’s.
