After Pietro told Aurora that Valentina had pushed him, she ran out. She asked a question, got an answer and ended up running after hearing something she didn’t expect. She felt terrible, for leaving Pietro after she told him that she’d be there for him no matter what because they’re family. But everything had stressed her out, causing her to have a breakdown in her bedroom at 2 in the morning and deciding to leave Lakewood for a bit. She didn’t say anything, no note. She just left and didn’t think about how much it would hurt her family until she knew that they had noticed she was gone. Staying in a hotel for a while, a couple of towns away from Lakewood had been a decent break, but she knew that she couldn’t avoid Lakewood and her family forever. She heard news of the Inaugural Ball for Mayor Campbell, and she contemplated going back. Not just for the party, but she felt as is her being gone was putting her family through torture. So she came back the day of, quietly getting into her room and getting ready for the party. 

Aurora’s fingers grazed over the small flowers decorated along the skirt of her dress, a shaky breath falling past her lips as she stepped into the party. She was anxious and nervous, scared that her parents would now resent her for departing without a word and how much it hurt Valentina and Pietro. She had worked so hard for their approval and love and now she had messed it up. She moved out of the way and to the side, not wanting to be spotted by anyone just yet. But low and behold, she had been the one that spotted someone else--Pietro. Guilt settled into her body and she bit her lip, wondering if she should approach him and explain herself. Aurora hasn’t realized that she was walking towards him until she was close enough to notice his features. Fuck. “Uh,” she started and only managed to stammer out a, “H-Hi...Pietro.”
