Scraps | Susan and Rincewind

Rincewind woke up covered in mud, dirt, and, not unusually, his own blood. His head ached like it had been hit with a club. He sat up warily, checking around him for barbarians, trolls, dragons, or any of the other things he’d come to expect in these circumstances. Unusually, he found none of these, but instead saw a tall young woman with blond, almost white hair standing at a stove. There was a streak of black amidst the white strands that didn’t so much catch the light as catch the dark.

"Um… If it’s not too much trouble… What’s going on?" He asked plaintively.

Susan turned and looked at the wizard, if he was indeed a wizard, and smiled faintly. "I don't exactly know what happened to you, but you were barely conscious and babbling to yourself in the middle of the street." She looked him up and down. "That is not a very wise thing to do in the middle of Ankh-Morpork." She reached up and grabbed some tea off the shelf above the stove and placed it on the counter before looking over to make sure that the wizard wasn't about to break anything. After grabbing everything else she needed for tea and placing them all out she turned back to the wizard.

"Now that you are awake could you please wash up in the sink? I tried to clean you up as best I could, but it was very hard and you were very adamant against anything having to do with being touched, though I don't understand why. It was just a rag with warm water on it." She tilted her head to the side. "Anyway, the sink is over there. When you are done the tea should be ready." She smiled slightly.
