❝ THE WISHING WELL ❞ - child! rico x child! reader
summary: you and rico are remembering the time when you both were just kids throwing coins in a wishing well
warnings: gn! reader, childhood friends to lovers
You're never gonna forget the first time you met the one you didn't know would be your best friend forever yet.
You remember it clearly: it was a beautiful summer day, the sun was up and not a cloud in the sky, the birds were tweeting and you were walking by the one that people called "the way to love".
It was a path which leaded to a wishing well, they said those who would pass by would meet the love of their life, but you were too young to understand.
But that day, love was coming for you as well.
That day you weren't the only one walking down that way, jumping on the heart shaped tiles; in fact there was another child with short platinum blonde hair and a pair of big baby blue eyes framed by some oval glasses.
"Hey, get off my way!" You screamed in your child voice.
"You get off my way!" She yelled back.
You looked into each other's stern eyes as you were about to fight, until she spoke.
"I have an idea. Why don't we go to the wishing well together? I've got two pennies, so we can make a wish each."
You though about it and it wasn't a bad idea, so you nodded.
She grabbed your hand which made your heart flatter in your small chest and she walked you, actually dragged you to the wishing well.
You had already been there so many times and you never had a penny so you could never make a wish, but that day you finally had a chance.
"There we are!" She pointed at the well with her tiny finger and your eyes lighted up as if it was the first time.
You got closer to the well, climbing on the big rocks around it; it wasn't too short neither too high, it was the perfect height so you wouldn't fall and luckly it wasn't that much deep.
"Here. You can go first." Rico passed you the penny she kept away for you.
You threw the penny into the water and as you heard the splash, you spoke.
"I wanna marry you when we grow up."
You didn't know why you wished that.
Rico chuckled. "You weren't supposed to say that, silly!" She threw her penny and expressed her wish, without saying a word.
You looked up at the sky which was turning from pink to orange as the sun was going down.
"I have to get home." Rico said in a sad voice. "But we can come back tomorrow and play hide and seek together." She suggested.
"Yeah!" You cheered, but then froze. "Oh I forgot! My name's Y/N!"
"Well, I'm Rico." She quickly introduced herself before to say goodbye and leave.
Since that day, you met every day by that wishing well to play hide and seek or any other games suggestion.
Now, after being friends for eighteen years and ending up together when you were in high school, you came back to the wishing well as Rico had a surprise for you.
"Remember this place?" She asked.
"Yes. We used to make a wish together when we were kids and I wished one day I could marry you, but I said that way too loud so I don't think it will ever come true." You had a sad look on your face.
You still hadn't notice Rico was hiding something behind her back.
"What if I told you today is coming true?"
You raised an eyebrow at her. "What?"
She kneeled down in front of you, revealing was she was hiding: it was a small red box and when she opened, you found a silver ring with a diamond.
"Y/N, will you marry me?"
You couldn't believe your eyes and ears. Did she just said what you hoped she would ask you since you were kids?
You slighty shaked your head to make sure it wasn't a dream and Rico was still standing there, waiting for your answer.
"Yes, I wanna marry." You finally said with tears in your eyes.
You could never imagine the silly wish you expressed when you were just a kid came true and now you're going to spend the rest of your life with your childhood best friend.
Maybe what they said it's true: there's something magic about that wishing well.

Glow Like That (Armin Arlert SMAU)
title: glow like that
pairing: ceo! armin arlert x reader
synopsis: when they were in high school, y/n used to bully armin for being a ‘nerd’ who snitched around students and caused them trouble. six years later, she manages to get a job as the ceo’s secretary in arlert corporation— one of the most huge publishing companies around eldia. little did she know that armin arlert, the kid she bullied back in high school, is the company’s ceo.
content warning: slightly suggestive themes, fluff, romance (minors! dni!)
masterlist || general masterlist || prev
iii. yo, what the fuck
“y/n l/n, right?” the ceo assistant, rico brzenska, asked as she hugged a company tablet on her chest while approaching you in the waiting area.
you were very nervous. your palms were sweaty despite the place being cold and your body was shaking. rico told you that for your first day, the company ceo of arlert incorporation wanted to have a word with you. you also heard about the money embezzlement scandal that was done by the secretary who came before you.
walking behind rico, you were silent as she was speaking to the other board members on her phone; probably planning schedule for the next meetings. to prepare yourself, you dusted off your skirt and fixed your posture— back straight, chest and ass out; walk with confidence, like what other people say.
“i’ll leave you here, y/n. just knock on his door and it will automatically open if he’s available.” rico politely stated before leaving, explaining that she has to organize another meeting with all of the board members in a conference room located at the other wing of the corporate building.
before you could even knock, the glass door opened automatically; seems that the ceo has been waiting to have a word with you. as you approached his office, you noticed a huge office chair that has its back turned. because of its enormous size, you can’t almost see you boss’ body. the only thing that you can assure is that he’s wearing a black suit. his arms appeared to be a bit more muscular too.
“so, you are my hired secretary, aren’t you? take a seat, please.” the man— the company’s ceo asked in a gentle yet stoic manner. the voice seemed familiar to you but you couldn’t remember where you heard him. was it in college? maybe the guy who sat behind you during economics classes?
“yes, sir. i’m y/n l/n, at your service.” you spoke in a friendly manner, still standing in front of his desk; and on top of that, you were beyond nervous.
you almost fainted when you saw who the ceo is— the man behind the success of a huge corporate business like arlert incorporation is none other than the kid— or rather, the classmate you despised the most during high school.
“it’s been a long time, y/n.”
it was the great armin arlert who graduated as the class valedictorian and was also awarded the best thesis in shiganshina high school.
“don’t you think it’s rude to stare at your boss like that?” armin boldly spoke; shiver running down to your spine as you let out a light squeak from shock.
after discussing some of the house rules with him, armin decided to let you do some of paperworks on your table— which was just across his’ and rico’s. he discussed that he prefers the secretary office just to be around him so that it’s easy for him to contact you just in case he needs something.
as you were waiting for some papers to be photocopied, you couldn’t help it but to stare at your boss— and your former schoolmate, armin arlert. he looked different— way too different than how he presented himself before. his blond hair was slicked back and his arms were toned muscular— having a good posture that shows off his self-esteem; unlike during high school when he always slouched his back and hid his face when walking down the school hallways.
“i-i’m sorry for staring... sir.” you gulped as he gazed back at you, raising an eyebrow. “i-i just can’t...”
“let’s get over what happened before, y/n. we’re professionals now. there’s no point of opening the past.”
somehow, his tone sounded bitter. is he still mad for how you treated him before? you’re not so sure about that; but there’s one thing that you’re sure of.
this situation humbled you more than ever; and made you realize why you’re supposed to treat people better than what they appear to be.
bullying has a behavioral effect to a person and it may also affect them until their adulthood.
youth who bullies other people could be socially popular or even outcasted. in some cases, these bullies are also being bullied by other people.
in order to solve bullying, the whole community must be involved in preventing it from happening.
bystanders could make a difference if they stood up for bullying victims.
in short, DON’T BULLY PEOPLE! it greatly affects someone emotionally and mentally. aside from that, bullying people would affect how you treat people in the future and how they react towards you.

AU: Modern AU + Reincarnation AU
WC: 6.5k
CW: none, except for switching timelines and POV's
(A/n): I got too into writing this, so reading the story guide linked below will help you understand. I fixed it a bit and now, it's all one big post!
This fic was written for@titan-fodder 's milestone collab!
story guide
—begin—
The night was well, celebrating the king’s kindness of handing out more rations. An overstock as his loyal dogs explained. Of course, there were fathers who sold them for twice the amount to sit down and have a drink at the walls finest bars. It hurt Miche’s nose when he stood at the entrance of her family’s bar. His mere presence had the patrons sitting upright, their conversations coming down to whispers or shared glances. Though the longer they noticed the washed uniform jacket, those whispers became louder and harsher.
Being a scout meant hearing the endless complaints of their taxes going to waste as he walked in and made his way to the place designated for his visits. Behind the counter of expensive alcohol.
Cowards, really. The alcohol in their system made them spit out such blabber, and those who were still sober only threw glares when humanity’s second strongest passed by them. No one dared to taunt such a scout with a build like his.
"My son-in-law will not be disrespected in my own establishment." Came her mother’s stern voice when she briefly poked her head out the kitchen, a hot ladle in hand. “Get out or act with the proper decency.” Soon the liveliness slowly rose, ignoring Miche who was at the corner, inspecting every smell he could pick up.
The conversation did shift from the scout regiment to the bar owner’s only daughter being married, making it harder to guess what was being pickled in the back of the kitchen.
"She already wasted her life joining the Garrison. Marrying a scout? Is your daughter crazy?" Cried a drunk man his age. He guessed it was the textile merchant who tried to (Y/n) with fine cloth only for her to respond by tearing it to use as a soldier's bandage. His statement had the room agree, beginning to cry her name.
"Would you like to die after your next bite? None of it." Her brother spat, waving his crutch. “Sorry, you had to hear them.”
He only nodded in reply, picking up the smell of another garrison soldier. Their ritual of putting a rose in their pockets made them very distinct to a trained nose like Miche’s. Looking up he was met with the back of the only survivor of the Trost team, Rico Brzenska.
"I tell them our plans of marriage and they parade at the markets boasting of it." Ah, there she was. Clad in a more relaxed attire. Her hair was out of that scalp-pulling ponytail. "Do you know how many of those wall worshippers told me I'm marrying a dead man?" She said with a pout.
"Force of habit," She explained when his eyes caught on the lavender flower resting in her breast pocket. The sling over her chest was a medal— for being the second person to survive in the elite team alongside Rico. “If you hadn't come in time, I would be the dead one here,” she whispered, more to herself, eyes cast down.
"I'll get you your usual, Zacharias?" Came the slap of her older brother’s hand on his shoulder. He obviously had sipped a few from the table. "You take a break now, be with your fiancee,"
“So, I can’t see you drinking. Nice try Albert.” She looked to Miche, explaining "My folks are getting old. Someone needs to step up and let my brothers live,"
"No, her military habits stop her from taking a break. Take her home will you?" Came Theo. A former comrade of Miche’s whose leg was bitten off when Maria fell. After that, he retired to work at this bar.
From a solemn look, (Y/n)’s face contorted to disappointment, "What?"
"Yeah, rid us of our troubles." Agreed Albert, patting Miche before going to the back to retrieve more alcohol. “I’ll have your food in a few, want anything else?”
Reading his mind, (Y/n) spoke up, eyes beaming, “I cooked him tomato soup!”
——
No matter how many times they’ve shared the night in the same room—
—nights where her arms would be held above her head as she withered under him, while tears stained his pillow. A night shared by them after months of being apart and their longing being pent up,
She was still coy.Whatever version of her was mewling his name out and voluntarily parting her legs begging for ‘miche more please more’ and ‘please ruin me’ was gone. Replaced with this version with burning puffed cheeks as he shamelessly shed his uniform and cleaned his body with a wet towel.
Miche enjoyed it every bit. Watching her with a ghost of a smirk from his place. The moonlight passing through the glass and the candle in one part of his room clashed over her form, perfectly highlighting the very embarrassed face of hers.
"Should I blow out the candles?" He teased. His shorts were lowered on purpose to tease her even more.
And it worked. They looked down, faster than when she snapped her eyes up."What?"
"Would blowing out the candles make you come here?"
"It'll only invite you to do—" she mumbled, bangs covering her face as she lowered her gaze. Even the tone of her voice changed, becoming more quiet and soft.
"To do?" Still, he teased, laying on his bed with an exaggeration to flex his stomach. It was worse than his torso had straps markings permannetly on him.
"To do such things, Miche."
"Such things you cry for so much," he drawled out, relieved she was walking towards him. “Things you beg for so, that even in the morning while I’m asleep you hump me like—”
"Don't—" She gave in, looking up at him as she made herself comfortable next to him.
"I missed you, frau." He said, burying his nose at the top of her head to smell her hair. Placing kisses from the top of her head to the side of her face.
"You sniff new recruits so much. But do you know how you smell?"
It nearly had him sitting up. All the sleep that built up from the day dissolved. "That bad?"
His answer was her nodding no, and in routine, climbing up to rest her weight above his body. Guiding his hand to play with her hair. "When you call me that name," She let the silence hang for him to pick up on.
"Frau?"
"Mmm makes me wonder what your village was like." Zacharias. There was a reason why he was titled humanity’s second strongest. Though never having the best relations, the village of Zacharias was eliminated when it was known that they protected the Ackerman clan. Their strengths combined was a threat to the king, pushing Miche to join the survey corps. Were they all blessed with superhuman strength? Or did they have heightened senses? And was Miche the product of both?
There was that sadness she wanted to take away from him when he said, "That is if any of them are still left," arms hugging her. It was enough to tell her that she was the only person in his life.
"Then if we have a child, you get to teach them your language." She said, resting her chin on his sternum to look at him. He was beautiful in the light that the moon cast.
And their children would look as beautiful as he is.
"Those are big dreams, Frau." He laughed, looking away to hide his frown. He was never the one to confront his feelings with her.
"In this world," she began, knowing that he wasn’t in the headspace to be asked any further. "It's what we fight for. Now, sleep Miche, It’s been a long day,"
—Present Day—
Okinawa’s sunny skies shining down on everyone’s shoulders was the indicator every student waited for. Of all school levels, of course. Everyone had their own plans. For the members of ‘S’ it meant starting later but finishing as late as 6am, and oh did the roster of races fill up too many beefs. Somehow the spirit of skating against each other for fun returned when Langa beat Adam in the closed course, probably knocking sense into everyone. Even the one who beat Hiromi in the head challenged him to a friendly beef.
Sure it was nice seeing the rise of fun challenges. But those who sat at the side— the girlfriends of those skaters who sat at the sidelines to serve as their boyfriend’s personal cheerleaders and to hold their towels, grew bored. Even Joe and Kaoru’s fangirls began to lose their spirit.
Before the secret skatepark ever became deserted of girls came the other ‘Kojiro’ family member who no one believed was a college student at first. A girl opposite of Joe in size, but whose energy matched his well. She sprung up, pushing Joe’s aside when he dashed down the course, though instead of a skateboard, it was a pair of rollerblades. Shock took over everyone that night. But the thrill of a family rivalry had the grounds cheering for either one of them.
Joe stood behind her, not wanting to scold her in front of so many when she won. While she posed in front of the camera with a signature grin.
Since then, the skate park’s been deserted by the girls. All of them were on the sidewalk of the beaches, skating the cutest outfits they’ve worn and never squealing for their boyfriends to win. The irony was (Y/n) never appearing in her pair of rollerblades again.
“Oh, so you can tell me all these stories of you and Kaoru-san running from the police and not expect me to do the same?” She said after Joe gave her an earful for not telling him that she wanted to skate against him beforehand.
Today while she helped him at the restaurant, it was the topic of their conversation again. And as if to taunt him more, she took a loud sip to get the remaining boba out of her empty milktea cup. “At Least it wasn’t a skateboard I raced you against with,”
Kaoru who ate his lunch there on his break muttered something about how Joe’s beloved baby cousin was finally starting her rebellious phase. How it was payback for sleeping with all those girls. “Listen, Joe. I can’t stand seeing those girls hang on their boyfriends arms someone had to come in with a
"Do whatever you want, kid. Your parents put their trust in me before you moved here. I'm just telling ya, kid, don't wanna face your (father's name)'s wrath." He gestured to the pile of unwashed plates used by the group of businessmen who left earlier. The huge tip they left went straight to (Y/n)’s wallet.
"Like he can do anything, I'm scared of my mom." She laughed, tying her apron around her waist to start on the plates. While everyone was out skating under the sun, she chose to stay in. And bicker with her older cousin who no one can separate her from.
Whoever said that they were only cousins by their bloodline and that (Y/n) was completely opposite of Joe— should be smacked by Adam in the face like how Kaoru was. No one knew them enough except for each other,
"She's right," Said Kaoru after a sip of his matcha tea, as if to rub salt into Joe’s open wound. He hated how much his little cousin was becoming a copy of him— minus all his sexual encounters, he convinced himself that he did a great job of scaring her about getting a boyfriend.
In true fashion he snateched a meatball off Kaoru’s plate"Whaddaya mean she's right?" Kaoru’s next statement had Joe’s eyebrow twitch in annoyance.
"Then take your ID off next time you skate. Easy as that."
"See!" She nearly jumped if it weren’t for the kitchen drains she was standing on. Taking a washcloth she wiped along the shelves where the most used ingredients were, eyes landing on the tall basket of tomatoes sent from the main Nanjo household. There was no one at the restaurant at this time and Joe wouldn't cook until the next customer came, the question she was going to ask had her grinning. “JOE!”
“WHAT?—”
“Can I make tomato soup with these,” Kaoru who was annoyed over something the gorilla said, had a glint in his glasses when he looked at (Y/n). Could it be that she had the same culinary skills as her cousin?
"I was thinking what I'd do with the overstock—" yeah, he grew more tomatoes than expected, "—do what you want with them." With no more words, she pulled her hair out its loose ponytail to tie it into a higher and tighter bun. Grabbing the pot Joe no longer used because of its burnt bottom. As she filled up the sink with water, beginning to cut the stems of the fresh harvest, the bell above the door rang.
"Heey," greeted Reki and Langa. Miya trailed behind them, eyes already on his console. Their uniform collars were all out of its first two buttons— it really is summer now. Seeing (Y/n)’s back turned to them, red hue nearly matching his hair when her side profile showed. ”Oh it’s, (Y/n)-senpai,”
To which she turned and smiled at them, pointing at the table they wordlessly declared as theirs. "Come in, I'm making tomato soup!" The smile she gave them became brighter, making Reki think that it was for him when it was for the taller blonde behind them. Only noticing him when he came in and his height nearly touched the lights.
Turning the stove to low-medium, she patted her clothes to look presentable and grabbed a menu off the table. "Welcome to Sia La Ruce, where would you like to sit?" When he looked up, that smile of hers disappeared, the back of her head tingling. Another life flash? Has she seen him somewhere?
—After Eren’s trial, Season one—
To the crowds of angry civilians, Miche asked the carriage taking them to their headquarters to change its course. To hide at (Y/n)’s private study just behind her parents’ bar. "We didn't want anything," said Hanji when (Y/n) returned with a tray of tomato soup, still steaming in the wooden bowls. Gone were her bandages, relaxing Miche’s heart.
"Your stomach said so," she said, standing at Miche’s back with her hands resting on his shoulders. Though she wore a serene smile that calmed him down, her eyes inspecting Eren went unnoticed.
"It's the best!" He nodded at Erwin and Hanji who were still hesitant to try it. They were aware of how her other comrades despised the garrison, minds swimming with the possibilities of being poisoned to get a hold of Eren.
"Have you eaten anything Eren? No need to be shy, you know." Levi relaxed. Of course, she’d ask that, he felt like a fool for even letting his brain think she would be a double soldier, working alongside Nile. She only looked at someone that way when she knew they were hungry.
"But . . ."
"Unlike them,” she gestured her head at them, briefly looking at Erwin who vomited after she presented a sample of their vile to him. “I've seen the most disgusting of the disgusting titans. And smelt them, too." She placed a bowl in front of him, “Eat up, Eren.”
—Present day, Sia La Ruce, Okinawa, Japan—
Miche was never a firm believer of any sort of religion. Nor, just like Levi, did he want to put a label on how he believed things were. He noticed that it was the same as the reincarnates, never believing in the faiths of families they were born into. Who could blame them when in their past lives as soldiers the highest form of belief was whoever created the titans, sparing no time to think of whoever created them. Sometimes, though, he wondered if wall worshippers still existed, seeing that there was the wall of China and remnants of the Berlin Wall.
His life was as simple in the present world just like how he lived in the world of titans. How he remembered his past life was a blur— unlike Erwin, he sort of came to terms with it. It was his nose that had him remembering life in glimpses. Though instead of a soldier, he was delighted to find out just how much the world rid of titans had to offer.
Choosing to study agriculture in his undergrad years, and now in Japan for his masters and hopefully a PhD one day. Only a few knew why he chose that country, besides his love for developing new farming techniques for the abused land in his state, Japan was the only country.
Who believed that reincarnation was real after a line of stories from the Edo and Showa period hit international media in the eighties. There were plenty of Nobunaga claimers, making the possibility of being a reincarnate a joke.
Still, he believed that it was that island country that would remove the blurry screen of what was once his life.
The same nose that smelt titans directions away, picked up on the tomato soup coming his way. Prompting him to look up and turn his phone off. "I— I didn't ask for this," his mind boggled with pinpointing where that scent was. It was tomato soup, of course, it’d smell like any other tomato soup. But the certain ingredient to it and the lavender perfume on his server took him to—
A shabby bar with candles to light to life? And alcohol?
"We had a tomato overstock, so it's in the house. I can speak English if you’re comfortable," she said, opening a notepad. “Are you ready to order?”
Ah, he did it again. Reading so much at a public place that he forgot where he was and what he needed to do in that place. Honestly, someone should take his textbooks away.
He couldn’t do what he told himself to do though. Picking up a spoon and having a taste. It was his body moving on its own," This is divine," he said, savouring every drop of it. "Compliments to the chef,"
"Which is me!" (Y/n) smiled. On the inside she wanted to punch herself for allowing herself to look so bashful, needing to bounce on her toes as she waited for him to order. Answering his questions about the menu.
No, maybe a side, but a violent knock to her head against the counter. She couldn’t believe the audacity she had to show the brief infatuation she had towards this blonde foreigner in front of Joe.
In. Front. Of. Joe.
She was feeling his warning glare pierce her shoulder.
Still though. What made her stay was that wonder why she got a life flash the moment she served that steaming bowl of her tomato soup. Has she done it before? Heck, she couldn’t even pinpoint what time period her soul came from— and now a handsome foreigner was sitting there in the restaurant.
In a haste, she scribbled his order down, calling for Joe to start the fire, still, he yelled for her to join him in the kitchen. That sternness in his tone told her she was in for another lecture, "(Y/N)!"
"Coming!" she jumped when he yelled again. Turning her back on him to go back in the kitchen, leaving Miche looking so longing at her back.
Just like her, he played a series of her smiles clad in the same jacket, though darker. Hanji, being a researcher in the reincarnation phenomenon in Kanagawa said that his ‘brain fogs’ were activated when a person close to him appeared without warning.
It was a shame how he frowned no matter how good the soup was. “Frau?”
As in Frauline?
—1st August—
"Ah," She was in an awkward position of her knees planted on the grounds of the skate grounds and her elbows balancing her, reading the questionnaire Reki brought along with him. “Reincarnation, huh,” she mumbled, eating more of her tomato chips. “I’d understand why high schools would ask you to write about this, never thought you’d do it for your English exams.”
"Do you believe in it, senpai? Been staring at it for minutes," Langa offered her a wet wipe, taking the empty chip packet. The word ‘Reincarnation’ caught Kaoru’s attention, prompting him to join them in their little circle. “Hello,”
He nodded, asking for the question paper given to the two as practice for their university exam. Calling Joe over to break away from his group of roller-blade-wearing fangirls with a wave of his arm, Kaoru only said, "Show them your tattoo,” in a bossy tone that made Joe’s eyebrow.
"They don't believe in reincarnation. You see," he continued with the tattoo in view to the latter, “The Kojiro family’s in touch with their spiritual side, they’re more tuned in per se.”
Finally, (Y/n) stood up to sit straight and tie her rollerblades. A lopsided smile as she told them of the ghosts roaming in the four-hundred-year-old state that made her and Joe move out. "Please, I've had too many ghostly encounters in the main house when I used to vacation here. It's really nothing compared to my life flashes. Mind you, they take so much of my energy away from me."
"The main house. It activates a lot of things.” The way their tones were airy felt insensitive to how a scared Reki and Langa clung to Miya, anything more from the two Kojiros and they’d pass out from exhaustion before they could skate.
"Yeah," (Y/n) stomping her feet had Reki flinching upward. "It was the summer of ninth grade when I felt someone play with my hair. It's scary, really. But hey, I fell asleep quicker than usual."
Joe rolled his eyes, shrugging the sleeve of his jacket back on. "Had the same at the north wing of the mansion, except that kid was kicking my back."
"Reincarnation is child's play. Really." Kaoru’s tone had the two look at him, wondering if he had something to do with anything as spiritual as theirs. Nah, he’s far too in love with a robot of an assistant to consider such things,
Miya, unphased by all these ‘ghost stories. And disgusted at how those two clung to him with their sweat, asked after violently shrugging them off. "How is the tattoo related to reincarnation?"
"I've had visions about these since I was a young boy. There were times when I searched about it in the family archives, but nothing." Answered Joe with the pout of his lower lip. Then looked at (Y/n) who was quite proud of her perfect laces. "She's been seeing visions, too. We call them life flashes."
"What have you been seeing?"
"Uhm . . ." she slumped down, no matter how many books she read, she couldn’t explain it. It felt lonely after seeing them because of how she saw herself smile next to a taller stranger. And dread when she could still smell after shaking away from it.
The scent— she was glad it was only at the butcher’s now, and not as common as it was in those visions. No, not even a slaughterhouse could compare to how foul the stench was.
It was the smell of, what she could only guess, rotting corpses. Or maybe she could tell them it was . . .
—episode 1, season two—
. . . This
This was hell. The heat from the sun and the uniform jacket weighing down on their shoulders was the perfect ‘welcome back to work’ day. Of course, like always, the garrison was going to clean up after the scouts who was the abandoned headquarters.
She respected Erwin. Really. But stationing the new recruits there without rations and then expecting them to be in the best of their conditions to evacuate villages. (Y/n) wanted nothing more than to crack his skull open.
The air smelling of roses around the walls thinned the further the horses galloped, soon it was titan vile surrounding them. Settling on their bodies the longer they rounded the area.
"Utgard castle is up ahead, to your right," Said their new squad leader. Throwing in a joke about finding Erwin’s arm so (Y/n) could stitch it back to him. Looks like she wouldn’t need her hammer to split his head open. “It was a joke, lighten up, will you?”
How could they when their comrades were mentally scarred enough to resign from their posts.
"I'll cover the headquarters with (Y/n)," said Rico, her horse already away from the group.
'I'd rather be with Miche,' She thought, sparing another disappointed look at him before nodding and riding away.
It was in one piece as compared to the reports about Utgard castle though. Still the smell. A very familiar stench, reeking from the shit titans vomited out. "Seems like nothing happened, let's go, Rico."
"Can't ignore the smell. It's worth looking into."
"I was afraid you'd say that," she felt the corners of her lips turn up. “Let’s go to that village. They have a paralysed titan there.” She nearly fell off from not holding the reins of her horse while it moved in the direction of the Headquarters.
Not a single glance from Rico."I'll go inside, see if they left anything inside." She looked at (Y/n) only to see her stretching her gloves up to her elbow, cloth mask hung around her neck. "And don't play with the corpses like last time."
"I didn't play with them— it was an impromptu autopsy!"
It was an eerie silence of her walking around in the obvious places where a titan would hide. Silent enough that she heard every rustle of the trees whenever the wind blew. In another world, this would be every beautiful adjective that would put a soul at ease, but silences like these meant the loss of another human life.
And there it was. The icky web of vomit sticking to the walls and scattered about. She put on a brave face, hoping that somewhere where souls rested in a sky free of titans, Ian and Mitabi were watching her work. A simple tune was whistled as she took careful steps.
"Whoever you are, I really really pity you. I always tell the scouts that they should've joined the garrison, but then I go on marrying a scout—" the playful tone to ease her mind flattered when a boot too long for any common scout laid on the blood painted grass.
She’d normally go on about with her facade of a happy tone, believing that it’d let the spirit pass after its last human interaction. A tone so happy would mean that their physical beings would be brought home and they could move on. But a suspecting brain and a heart beginning to weigh heavy kicked that thought out of her mind.
"Hold on a moment." Didn’t Erwin request for a squad leader from the military police to look over the new recruits. Getting to work, she turned the torn torso dried of blood over to confirm her suspicions. Only a trained eye could see that the scouts’ uniform jacket was a shade lighter compared to the latter.
The colour of the shirt was damp from the vile. Still, it said enough.
"No," gone was her composed posture. Shoulders slinging down and her knees planting on the ground.
"No, no, no he wouldn't die like this."
"Nothing inside, except for the rations they didn't take with them."
"Rico," she looked up, her cloth mask falling to her neck. Desperation on her face. The same one she wore after witnessing Ian’s demise. "I need a head."
"A head . . ." the panic of her friend’s tone seeped into Rico's conscience. The only victim in the headquarters full of unarmed recruits was an armed scout. “Do you know him?” The tone she used was to bring her comrades back to their realities— insensitive and mean.
Instead, one look at (Y/n) and she knew she’d lost another friend.
"It’s Section Commander Miche—"
—Present Day, 7th August—
"— Zacharias" Reki snapped a picture of the gold nameplate and turned to (Y/n). “You share the same name with her!”
What?
A mop of blue hair crouched to meet her dead-looking gaze and asked "You okay (Y/n)-senpai?" with a bottle of water for her to drink.
No.
Weren’t they at the skatepark, and she was lacing up her skates while they talked about her and Joe’s clan. Right? No, she was here. And confused.
How long did this life flash last that she was confused in an exhibition hall?
Being the gentleman that he is, Langa sat down beside her when she started to take in deep breaths to calm her beating heart. It was beating too fast. Too strong with an emotion she was too familiar with. Desperation.
‘(Y/n) look at them.’
‘You’re here, not in that place anymore.’
Yes. In an exhibition where they displayed the heroes from a time when titans roamed the earth two millenniums ago.
"You share the same name with the section commander turned weapon specialist. Look!"
“It’s wrong,” she breathed, finally having a hold of herself. “She wasn’t a weapons specialist. She studied titan carcasses.” The more she stared at the browning painting laid out on a canvas, the more her breathing hitched. “Yes, a titan specialist.”
Thinking that she was all alright and needed to be alone, Langa stood up to follow where the hyper redhead went "Reki, wait,"
Beside her picture was another portrait, though clad in the older style of the uniforms. A brown jacket under a green cloak with a crest that gave hope in the form of blue and white wings.
She remembers telling him not to stare at the painter too much in fear that his portrait would come out crooked. She remembers when he laughed at her shyness. When the only peace in their lives was at his room.
The worried look on his stoic face when she fell from the roof and injured her arm with her grappling hook.
She remembers everything so clearly.
"Miche," she choked, her mind hadn’t registered how or why she cried. Only knowing that she needed to wipe her tears. No one could see her crying in a public place, it would bring attention to her.
"Miche, Miche, Miche," she repeated in a chant as she walked out of the building. Life and death separated them before. Now, it was the possibility of him not knowing her,
"Where are you?" narrowly avoiding the cars on every road she crossed.
Every muscle in her body begged her body to be rational. Have enough presence of mind to save herself from the coming cars. "I saw you and you were gone again." She sniffled when fatigue got to her at the park.
It was a cinematic experience, really. The orange glow of a setting sun as she walked along the park was abandoned after beginner skaters were confident of their skills. Haggard breaths at every move and an open bruise on her shins after she had tripped on herself.
She was numb to it. Right now, the only pain she wanted to soothe and knew how to do so was seeing his face again. If only her memories would’ve come back the same day he came through the restaurant's doors.
That had her eyes well up again. ‘Please end this pain’. Too caught up in thinking of an explanation she’d present to her grandparents at the main house, she didn’t even spare a glance at the stranger who bumped their shoulder against her, too engrossed in his textbook— again, to even stop and enjoy the setting sun’s view.
"I'm sorry, miss." He said, finally looking up when his feet dragged him away from her to even hear his apology. Oh. There was that pain from looking up and the shock from seeing his “Fraulein”.
Who made her cry like that? The drop of her shoulders and the sway of her body as their gazes met— it was the one like the one he saved from at Trost. Though she didn’t yell his name when he caught her.
"I know you!" Came her airy tone, her upper relaxing in his forearm and the textbook that had his attention on the ground behind him. Her eyes were wet again. Wide as she traced his face above her.
Even in this life, his eyes were as green as the gems royals wore. And the beard he loved to tickle her with.
"Miche!"
"That's me." He nodded, eyes beginning to form a screen of tears the longer the realisation set in. "Do you remember me?"
"I know I loved you so much." they blinked back tears that streamed at the sides of their faces, staining their shirts, to have a proper look at each other. "You called me Frau at the end of everything you said."
The first kiss to her forehead and to cradle her head in his hands as his thumbs wiped every tear. “It was short for Fraulein.”
Seeing him look so young and with so many dreams to him, and a genuine smile. She couldn’t help the sob that came out "Oh, Miche!"
"It's really you, oh god!"
"Hey, woah, careful. Might hurt yourself.” His eyes trailed down, following the faint scent of blood. “You already did!"
"You're in one piece," she cooed, still looking at him in a daze.
"That I am. We need to get you somewhere, your knees are bleeding."
“Oh,”
—Meanwhile—
Again the two in front of the portrait where they left her."Remember when they said their family was——" Reki raised his arms to exaggerate his point, "Spiritual and spooky," He looked to Langa when he didn't have an answer.
"Right yeah," His troubled blue eyes looked at him briefly then at museums corridors, turning around.
"Langa. What’s wrong?"
"Attention visitors, the exhibit will be closing in thirty minutes, please proceed to the front exit after collecting your belongings. Thank you for your visit”
"And no (Y/n)-senpai," Right? Where was (Y/n), they left her there at the same spot when she started hyperventilating? "We asked her to be our guide so we wouldn’t get lost . . . and we’re looking for her." She probably asked the staff the directions to the clinic, it’s not like she didn’t have a phone.
"Yeah, yeah like she doesn’t have a phone on her,"
"We can’t," with his answer Langa held up the phone encased in a clear case, swinging the charms in Reki’s face.
"ACK!"
Langa’s skateboard was already in his hold. "We should go to the restaurant,"
"WHAT? NO! Bad idea, why are you so calm?" The way Reki yelled and how the echoes bounced off of the walls had the same ginger-haired volunteer who told him to calm down in fear of knocking an artefact over, looking at him with eyes narrowed to slits. Ashamed, he turned around, walking with Langa out of the exhibit.
"He’ll kill us. Just so you know, Langa he’s overprotective of his little cousin."
"Then if it means finding (Y/n)-senpai, then let’s go,"
"He's a chef, Langa!"
"What’s your point, Reki?"
"He’ll turn us into soup to hide the evidence."
"Then to Kaoru’s then?"
With eyes beaming, Reiki pointed his finger at the sky. That ginger-haired volunteer can’t shush him now. “Or we go to Sha— Hiromi and ask him to drive us around in the most obvious spots!”
“So, all of Okinawa then, huh,”
“Oh shut up!”
——
Careful in his every move in fear of outing his ‘cover’, Joe’s gaze would flicker up to (Y/n) to see if her expression had changed. Then back to the foreigner who brought her in and asked for a washcloth and the first aid kit above the fire extinguisher. "What happened to you?" His question unanswered as she wiggled her toes for the blond across.
Then she looked at him, pointing at Miche."The exhibit stopped my life flashes."
"What?—" The door of his restaurant slammed open too violently, welcoming the harsh winds before a shower in. It was the two with the wheels of their skateboards nearly falling off.
"JOE! We’re really sorry. REALLY!" Reiki dropped down on his knees, clasped hands above his head as he bowed.
Unphased, Langa walked past Reki after closing the door to place her phone on the counter. "We couldn’t find (Y/n)-senpai. And her phone’s with us so we couldn’t call her . . ."
Instead of the wrath, they expected from him, or a disappointed look, all he did was sigh. Then looking at (Y/n) with a said disappointed look, his arms crossed. "She’s right there, get up, Reiki."
Ignoring Joe and the growing look of wonder on the two’s faces, she shrugged, bowing her head in an apology. "I’m sorry for the trouble."
—That Night, Miche’s condo—
"It’s been a long day," he yawned, closing the book he read earlier. His glasses perched on the bridge of his nose. It seemed that the growing manga collection since he arrived fascinated her. "Frau?"
She looked at him, put her hands behind her back and leaned against the frame of the door. Her eyes wandered in every nook of the orange-lit apartment. "This place is very you," even under the orange lights and the moon’s glow on her face, it was hard to believe that it was her.
Right here, right now.
"And very close to the university," With AC set to the highest temperature, he moved to make space on his bed and patted it. "C’mon,"
Instead of nodding, like she always did. Her eyes snapped out of its wonder, piercing at him with shock. She tensed up, and heat spread quickly across her face.
"A-are you insinuating that we— Miche we just met!" He stood up, adding more to her shock. It took only a few steps to be where she stood and towered over her. “Miche?”
He could only feign such a stoic expression for that long. "It’s really you," he laughed, pulling on both her cheeks to kiss her forehead. In the height of his love, he didn’t think only bending down to carry her. Swaying her.
"We can live out our dreams, frau," realising this, she let herself relax. Yes, those dreams of seeing the world beyond the walls. And seeing him smiling wide like that.
"Yeah, we can—"
Poink
And there he goes ruining the moment by throwing her body on the bed. Such a Miche-esque way to ruin their moment. He still laughed, throwing himself over her to tickle her face with his scruff. "Now sleep," he ordered, holding both her arms above her head, to pepper her face with all the kisses he wanted, taking that in that scent of her.

Save Your Tears
Rico Brzenska X MTF!Reader
Genre: Angst, Slight Fluff
Warnings: Language, Implied/Hinted Transphobia, Bullying
Summary: Y/n, one of the cadets is getting bullied by other cadets in her year. When Rico is walking by on patrol, she sees this happening and scolds the cadets harshly before reassuring and comforting Y/n.
Word Count: 1.2k
A/N: i’m really excited for this as a trans person myself so i hope you enjoy ! also its a bit short im sorry i suck at bullying and comforting 💔
You knew it would happen eventually. You had expected it. You just didn’t think it would happen between you and your comrades. The people that were supposed to help you if you were on the verge of getting eaten by a titan. But if they couldn’t even handle you being “different” then how could they save your life on the battlefield? Were you really that different that they most likely wouldn’t save you because of it? So many thoughts ran through your head as you stood on watch inside Wall Maria in a small town.
Being a cadet, you weren’t able to do many things yet except sit tight and hope that the day wouldn’t come that titans decided to break through the wall and destroy humanity at their very will. But you didn’t mind. It was like everything else, you had to progress and continue going up the steps to success and hope you don’t fall on your way up. You’ve had to do it many times, so wanting to become a part of the military wasn’t going to be anything new for you.
But god was it hell still.
“Hey, Y/n!” You heard someone say your name and you turned your head, seeing one of your comrades walking up to you with two other guys behind him.
You could feel your body tense up upon seeing the trio of boys walking to you, knowing that whatever was going to happen wasn’t going to be a very fun ride for you. “Hi!” You forced a smile onto your face.
The boys stopped in front of you and the one in the middle began to talk again, “Hey so look, my buddy here needs some help with what he’s doing right now which is moving heavy stuff like guns and ammunition for the regiments and he needs someone strong. Like, guy stong. So, would you mind helping him?”
Your teeth gritted against each other when the male finished his sentence, and you shook your head. “Why would I help? You three are men, aren’t you? You can help him just fine, and much more as three than just me.”
“Nah, I think you’d be stronger.” He responded. “Would you just help him, man?”
“No.” You answered. “You can help your friend perfectly fine by yourself. I don’t have to be involved in any way. So I would appreciate it if you please left me alone.”
The boy’s expression changed into anger as he walked up to you, grabbing the collar of your shirt and pulling you towards him. “Look, Y/n, all I’m doing is helping a friend here. Why can’t you do the same? Because you’re a little bitchy girl now? I won’t be leaving you alone until you help. You know you have the muscles, obviously you do. But you’re not going to because you’re a bitch now? Tsh, should have expected it from someone like you.”
Your eyes immediately shut the moment he grabbed your shirt and pulled you, afraid that you were going to get hit next. “Please, stop.” You said quietly.
“No, I don’t think I will.” He growled angrily. “Do you wanna help like a good person or be a bitch for the rest of your life?”
Meanwhile, still in the town that you were located in, Rico was walking around, making sure everything was going smoothly in the town as well to check in on the cadets when it was necessary. As the girl was walking, she glanced around until she noticed you and the three men, one with his hand gripped harshly on your shirt while looking extremely angry. She began to walk towards you all when she heard what was being said.
“Oh so you are gonna choose to be a bitchy girl for the rest of your life? Why don’t you just go back to where you came from, Hell?”
Tears welled up in your eyes and a few slipped out, running down your cheeks slowly. “Please, just stop.”
Rico’s eyes narrowed into a glare as she stopped in front of you two, grabbing the male’s hand and ripping it away from you and twisting it around, resulting in him yelling in pain as she spoke, “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” She spat out.
“I was doing nothing!” He cried out.
“Tsh, like I believe that. I heard what you said to her, cadet. Don’t think I won’t tell Commander Pyxis and get you kicked out.” Rico told him in an even harsher tone.
“No, please don’t tell Commander Pyxis!” He said quickly, shaking his head rapidly.
“Then don’t do this shit ever again.” Rico let go of his arm and continued to glare at him. “If I or anyone I know find’s out you continue doing this, you will be kicked out and left for the Titans.”
The boy nodded quickly and started to walk away, the other two following behind him quietly.
You stared at the girl in complete shock, not expecting anyone to help you at all since no one had before. When Rico looked over at you, you quickly looked away while moving your hair so it was covering most of your face, not wanting her or anyone else to see your tears that were still falling one by one.
“Hey...You okay?” She asked you, taking a few steps closer to you.
You glanced over at her and nodded quickly, “Oh uhm, yeah.Thank you by the way.” You replied, wiping away the tears.
The girl put her hands on your shoulders and you looked at her confused. “Save your tears for another day, don’t let those fuckers get to you. And when you become better then them whichever regiment you go into, you won’t even think about them anymore. And by the way, you’re the prettiest girl I’ve seen here.” She gave you a small smile at the end.
A blush spread across your cheeks at the compliment and you nodded, “Thank you. I really needed that.”
“It’s no problem, really. If someone ever fucks with you again, just come and find me, the name’s Rico Brzenska, it’s pretty easy to remember.” Rico responded.
“I will, thank you.” You nodded again, smiling.
The girl nodded and patted your shoulder, “And join the Garrison regiment while you’re at it, that’s where I’ll be.” She told you. “You have a really nice smile too, don’t let it go away, no matter what happens.”
“I was thinking about joining the Garrison regiment anyways.” You chuckled. “And I won’t.” Your smile grew wider.
“Good.” Rico leaned forward and hugged you for a split moment before pulling away. “Now, I’ve got to get back to duty. But maybe I’ll find you afterwards and we can talk more. I’ll see you, Y/n.” She added, flashing a smile for a second before turning and walking away.
Well, you definitely didn’t expect things to go that way. But you were glad that Rico was nearby and helped you, since no one else would most likely. You would save your tears for another day, a day that they would actually matter. You would keep the smile evident on your face as well, not going to let anyone bring you down just because of who you were. And always remember,
You are beautiful just the way you are 💙

It’s Purgatory Time!
Warning: Death, cursing. If you are not comfortable with any of these subjects, either proceed with caution or click away.
^^^ The image up there are the characters, but Y/n, This is how I had her dress and how I imagined how she would look like.
Main Characters: Y/n L/n (Reader) Rico Brzenska, Yuuto Takahashi (OC) Daniel Stephenson (OC)
“Rico-Hancho!” A cadet screamed out. The small woman groaned as the titan gripped her body
“Damn! I can’t breathe!” She panicked. The titan looked closely at the woman. Expecting it to eat her, Rico drew her sword attempting to fight one more time. Instead, the titan gripped her harder before tossing her like a rag doll. Her body limps as she rolled down the hill. Each stone hitting her felt like spikes piercing her skin. Finally stopping, she laid there in pain,
“ I. . . have to keep fighting! I can’t stop now!” She panted. Trying to move one of her limbs felt like her body was being ripped apart. The pain surged through her veins as she tried to get up. Her eyes felt heavy and her vision started to blur. She felt her heart rate decrease.
“No…. I can’t die. Not yet.” She thought, gripping the emblem on her breast-pocket. As the blood seeped through her clothes, the thick red liquid painted the ground beneath her. She coughed out blood and tears pricked the corner of her eyes. Slowly her eyelids drooped and finally, she drew out her last breath.

Beep. . . Beep . . . Beep
The sound of chatter and a constant beeping was enough to wake her up. Bright white ceilings and strange glass contraptions made of glass blinded her blurry vision.
“Oh, glad to see you up. Hope ya had a nice nap.” said a masculine voice. Rico squinted at the figure in front of her. He picked up a small framed pair of silver glasses and held it out for her. Rico sat up while taking her glasses and looked around. She gasped seeing familiar faces.
Everyone who was thought to be dead. They were right in front of her, all in white clothing and wrapped in bandages.
“Rico? What happened?” A familiar voice piped up. Rico yelled at the sighted of her formally deceased friend. Ian Dietrich, the Ian who got his head chopped off was there. Well . . . part of him. Right now, he was just a head on a neck and a small part of his shoulders.
“I-Ian?” She stuttered.
“Rico? Is that you?” Her other friend Mitabi called out at the bed next to her. Half of him looked ok and the other half looked flatter than a piece of paper. “Hey, Rico. How’d you end up here?”
“Wh-what? A-am I dead? Where am I?” Rico faltered, “Is this the afterlife?”
“Eh, more or less.” The black-haired male said as he picked up a clipboard and stood up.
“My names Yuuto by the way. You’ll have to wait for my work bros to get here so they can tell you the info you need.” He added before walking off.
“W-work . . . bro?” She muttered to herself.
“Apparently, it’s a term called “slang” from where he’s from.” A male voice clarified. There he was, Freckled Jesus himself, Marco Bodt, bandaged up and half his body missing. “By the way, you’re in the purgatory hospital.”
“Purgatory? So I’m dead?” She questioned. The clicking of heels grew louder as a small woman with (H/C) hair and heterochromatic eyes marched in.
“Affirmative!” chirped the small woman. Her gloved hand held up a pink and blue clipboard.
“But, possibly not for long,” said the woman. “You see, you’re a special case. Since your body wasn’t too injured and nobody saw you die. You should be perfectly good to go home in a few hours!”
“Wait, I’m going back after I die?” she asked, confused.
“Yep! You are a soldier! And all soldiers, warriors, fighters etc, etc, go to this reserved heaven where they live the rest of your afterlife. Unfortunately, that place is lacking space for everyone and you have some unfinished business to attend to.” The woman explained. Rico examined herself. She no longer had the small scratches or bruises made when she rolled down the hill, it looked like it never happened at all. And more importantly, the gash on her body was gone and what was left was a pink scar running down her stomach.
“Now you just have to wait for your check-up with Dr Daniel Stephenson. However, he is with another patient right now so we have a bit of time in our hands.” Said the woman, grabbing a chair and sitting next to the silver-haired woman. Crossing her leg and placing the clipboard on the nightstand, she turned to the woman and smiled. “How are you feeling? Do you have any questions? My name is (Y/N) (L/N) it is a pleasure to meet you.”
“Likewise, it is a pleasure to meet you too,” said Rico. “And yes, I do have questions, What exactly is this place?”
“You are at Purgatory Hospital. This is the place where the people who died in battle go to recover from their injuries before going into soldier heaven, and as I said you have unfinished business to attend to in your universe.”
“Business? Universe? There are other universes and this supposed heaven is lacking space?” Rico pondered. The (H/C)-coloured woman nodded.
“Yes, unfortunately, there are too many people dying on the battlefield, and it is too much for soldier heaven to adjust to the rapid increase of the population, and your universe is not the only one, this place is connected to various universes in different timelines.”
“Well how exactly do you get here and how do you go back?” asked Rico.
“You get here by dying, your spirit floats itself into the hospital for treatment, If your body is intact you’ll be able to heal quickly, however, if a part of your body is missing, it’s a different story. For example what happened to your friend Ian.” said (Y/N) motioning to Ian’s disembodied head. “You have to wait so we can regenerate the rest of your body, but it also comes with conditions.”
“Conditions?” Rico asked. (Y/N) nodded.
“Yes, because of your replacements, there are side effects that relate to your death. For example, the scar on your stomach shows the fatal wound that leads you to your passing.” She explained.
“Alright, but what exactly are you? Are you some sort of nurse or doctor?” Rico speculated. The woman in front of her laughed.
“I guess something similar, but not in the medical field.” She explained. “I am a doctor in the scientific field, but I am here to explain to you what is happening, so you don’t go crazy or anything like that.”
Just at that moment a tall two-toned man with a lab coat and an eye patch over his right eye walked into the room and stopped in front of Rico.
“Are you Ms Rico Brzenska?” The man asked. Rico nodded.
“Good! I’m Doctor Daniel Stephenson, and I am here to your physical exam to see if you are ready to go,” said Daniel, putting on his stethoscope, and placing it on her chest. He continued the exam. Writing the last bit of a sentence down, Daniel smiled at Rico.
“Good news, you’ll be able to go home now! You just need to sign here and (Y/n) will bring you home.” He said, pointing to a line with an x on the side. Rico took the pen and wrote down her name. Daniel smiled and motioned for (Y/n).
“Little lamb, she’s ready to go home, you can take her now.” the two-toned male smiled.
“Aye-aye captain.” (Y/n) smiled, turning to the silver-haired woman. “Well, Miss Rico. Follow me and we’ll give you a change of clothes and we can bring you home in a jiffy.”
(Y/n) lead the silver-haired woman thorough a hallway and to a door with a metal plate saying “Belongings space” She opened the door and let themselves in. The inside was fairly big and had clothing racks that stretched miles and miles far. Each rack was labelled with numbers and titles. The scientist led Rico to a rack that was labelled “Titan Universe: Garrison soldiers”
“It should be around here somewhere . . .” she said sifting through the countless racks of uniforms. “And . . . Here it is!”
The small scientist pulled out a familiar uniform, handing it to Rico she leads the woman into a changing station.
“You can change here, call me when you’re done.” (y/n) said as she closed the curtain giving Rico the privacy she needs.
Rico stared at her uniform. She noticed that her name was hand-sewn into the back of her collar. Stripping herself of the grey clothing she was provided with and changed back into the familiar uniform. Once she had finished changing she moved the curtain and saw the scientist waiting for her.
“Good! You’re done!” she beamed. Grabbing her by the wrist she led Rico out to a room with a variety of sharp objects. All a variety of scissors to swords and spears. There were also large platforms and machines next to them. Everything was interesting but what piqued her interest was this one platform with what looked like a big hole in the air.
“Alrighty Rico, You just need to step into the portal and you should be in the forest close to the walls!” She explained, “Also, don’t mention this place to anyone yet. Okay, Bye Bye!”
“Huh?” Rico asked before she was shoved into the bright portal. A flash of blue light surrounded her before landing on the green ground. Groaning, she got up and dusted herself off.
“She could have at least told me first.” Rico thought to herself. Seeing that there were no titans she jogged closer to Wall Rose.
Two garrison soldiers were talking amongst each other on top of the wall when they spotted a small figure jogging to the walls.
“Holy Shit! It’s team leader Rico! Tell them to open the gate!” One of them yelled. The gate soon rose from the ground letting Rico pass through. She was soon surrounded by her comrades asking her questions left and right.
“Rico! Thank the walls! Good to have you back!” Hannes shouted passing through the crowd with Kitz.
“It's a miracle that you survived out there without your gear." A soldier praised in awe,
"Yeah. . . survived...." Rico mumbled under her breath.
"It's commander Pyxis!" A soldier shouted. The bald man came through the crowd and stopped in front of the small woman. Rico saluted and Pyxis chuckled.
"At ease. Rico. You should go and freshen up. You must have been through a lot it there with no gear, you have my permission to take the rest of the day off." Pyxis insisted.
"Thank you, Commander. You're too kind." she thanked. The male nodded and left, leaving Rico to her own devices. Eventually, everyone else left and she went back to her room. Once there she closed the door behind her and went to sit in her chair. She leaned her head into her hands and began to think about everything that has happened,
"They'll be back. Everyone who died. Who got eaten, squished killed by the titans. . . They're going to come back..." Rico thought she had very mixed feelings about this. She was happy that her comrades would come back to her, but does she really want them to go back to this hellhole? Just so they can die again? She didn't know.
Rico sighed and got out of her uniform, changing into her nightwear and went to bed. She closed her eyes and let the darkness of slumber take her.
